DURANGO

I love this place! Always delicious. I especially relate the Colorado references here like 5280 being a mile high like Denver. While they have the best burgers the salads and chicken is great too.

This was my first time to eat here at 5280. The seating area is clean nice and comfy. The service was fast and great. They have TVs everywhere which was awesome for Sunday football. They have a great draft beer selection and their menu has something for everyone. The tables are high tops with comfy benches and chairs. I got the classic 5280 burger with fries and a lemonade. The food was pretty good and service was good as well. Overall I like the ambience and we will return

Cute neighborhood spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Tons of TVs playing sports games, and the bar was largely reserved today by a local Philadelphia Eagles fan club to watch the game. Seat yourself and a helpful server will come take your order. Large selection of appetizers, salads, & burgers (which can be subbed for grilled chicken breast). We tried the chips & queso, a burger and street tacos. The queso was tasty with a nice kick & the street tacos were yummy. PSA - all burgers cooked to medium so be sure to specify if you prefer a different cooking temp.

Happy Hour ($15 total)

Don't miss the happy hour! I walked in on a weekday during happy hour and sat at the bar. Was immediately served a cold beer and had my order taken. Within minutes I had nachos brought out with a 5280 burger. Meat from the nachos is from the bbq joint next door (Bert's) and honestly, I don't think I could pick out a single thing I'd change about the entire experience. Atmosphere was great, service was phenomenal, food was savory and the draft and drink selection was full of everything you might want. 5280 might be mile high, but this place feels more like cloud 9. Will visit again soon!

FRIES & RINGS

An all Philadelphia eagles bar (go birds!). My first time here and we sat in the bar area. They do have regular dining/ kid friendly dining in the back of the restaurant. Big fan of the ahi tuna nachos. The brisket tacos were good but the meat was a little dry. Burger was delish and cooked perfectly medium and they toast the bun. Really loved the onion rings as well. I've been to the other eagles bar in town and while good they do not cater to food allergies. This place had gluten free buns for the burgers and omitted dairy. We will definitely be back!

Always a favorite dinner spot for when I don't feel like cooking. Their burgers are great and the onion rings+fries combo is a must (maybe because I'm a glutton but also because they do both sooo well). Each burger I've had here has been a hit. Can't go wrong. Finally made a stop here during their Thursday steak special and it was not bad for a place that specializes in burgers. I enjoyed my steak! This is a neighborhood spot that does food and service great that keeps me coming back.

What a gem of a place. I know, as a vegetarian who am I to review a burger/taphouse? But oh you vegetarians do not fret as there are vegetarian options. The burgers can be substituted with either their black bean/quinoa patty or Impossible Burger. I had the impossible burger which was perfect, but I am sure their black bean burger is very good. We went on a Sunday evening and they have a nice dog friendly outdoor patio. It's also nice they provide dog bowls for water for the dogs. Even though the high was in the high 90s the patio wasn't too hot at all and they do have a big fan to cool you off if needed. The service was amazing. All 3 waitresses that came to help us checked in on us and they spoiled our dog that we brought for dinner with us. I also have never been to a restaurant with so many thoughtful touches. For example in the bathroom they have mouthwash and mints so you can have fresh breath after enjoying dinner. They also have blankets rolled up in the front if the inside is too cold. It was also nice that I believe the owner of the place went around and made rounds and asked us how our food was. You can tell they really care about their customers! Now on to the food. My husband and I were hungry, but not hungry enough to have full size burger. So we ended up doing the duo where you can each choose your own burger but it is slider size. Well the slider size is about the size of In-n-Out burger so it was perfect for us. I got the Baja burger with caramelized onions, roasted poblanos, chipotle mayo, pepperjack cheese and subbed out the burger for impossible. I really enjoyed it and it was not spicy at all. The bun was soft and buttery. My husband got the Wagyu burger and enjoyed it. We also split loaded fries with queso and pico de gallo and it was delicious - the fries were perfectly crisp even when it was smothered in queso and was the perfect size to split between the two but not too large that we had a lot left over. They have plenty of free parking as it is shared with strip mall.

My cheeseburger was good! The lobster roll was a little dry. Although burgers were good but nothing too memorable or special. I wish the truffle fries were crispier instead of soaked in oil. Excellent service. We had the sweetest and most attentive waitress. Very casual and fun spot to hang out if you want a quick bite.

Four star food, five star service. stopped into 5280 for dinner tonight and it was great! We were immediately greeted at the door and right away we knew we were going to be taken care of tonight. Sat outdoor and enjoyed the cooler weather while also having front row seats to tonight's game. Food: bacon cheeseburger, plain fries (classic! Cooked perfectly and flavorful) 4/5 Prime steakhouse burger, truffle fries (so many yummy elements, would recommend) 4.5/5 Mac and cheese (loved this soooo much) 5/5 Salted Carmel icecream (3/5 melty and meh) Service: Amazing. Great people!

This place is exactly what I want in a hometown restaurant/bar. The staff was friendly and personable. The owner engaged with patrons. A lot of people were there to watch the UT game. They have a lot of space and quite a few big TVs. I ordered wings and that's the one thing they could improve. There was simply not enough sauce (I'm sure they would've happily fixed that if I had asked). The burgers were juicy and cooked right. I realize this is a burger and taphouse place but.... I'm coming here for the ice cream! They'll make whatever your heart desires. It's a good thing I don't live closer to this place because I would be eating WAY too much of their ice cream. I'm not sure what to tell you other than to try it and find out for yourself how good it is.

Lunch special burger, drink, and fries for something like $12.50. Delicious. They also have a happy hour with five dollar beers and five dollar snacks. Everything tasted here has been very good.

This place is so intoxicating from the aqua blue color palate and funky green art work to the alluring lighting and huge metal plate (looks like something from a ship...also their logo). My brother said the green artwork looked like broccoli. My brother ordered the Idaho trout with coconut rice and Brussel sprouts. I sampled his food and it was all good. The standout was the Brussel sprouts...crispy with this absolutely delicious drizzle. I ordered the Mezze plate with a flavor explosion and many desirable texture. It had lamb kabobs, fresh salad (emphasis on fresh) with thinly sliced cucumbers, finely sliced onions and creamy feta (never had creamy feta), red round sweet peppers, hummus with the most delightful pesto like sauce, and olives. When we were finally approached the lady that approached us was nice and attentive. Our waitress was nice and friendly but she was manning a lot of tables for some reason. The food was pretty but ok. I got the original pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. The pancakes came with strawberries, blueberries, bananas and syrup. The syrup was mixed with butter and it was a little too much butter which was off putting if you don't like a lot of butter. The pancakes were fluffy looking but tasted like a version of jiffy cornbread. I ate the fruit. The eggs were not scrambled really. I just felt like they put them in a bowl, scrambled with fork and put them on the grill but forgot to scramble them a little bit to cook the top of the eggs and then plated. The top of eggs was wet. We came here for a birthday specifically for the 100 Hour Marinated ribeye for my friend. She had been talking about it for weeks. Unfortunately, the night we came to celebrate, it was not available. She was crushed. I jokingly said "we can go somewhere else". I'm guessing the server thought I was serious because later the chef came to our table and offered her a special treat. It was very nice of them. She ended up with the Redfish special and she liked it. But it was a huge disappointment anticipating this dinner for weeks. My dinner on the other hand exceeded expectations. I had not been here for many years. I don't recall the House-made veggie burger being on the menu previously. I tried it. It was excellent. Brown rice, mushrooms, beets, jack cheese, and other goodies. The avocado basil slather was perfection. It's not easy to find a really good veggie burger these days. So many places try to make them taste like meat. This was a true old school Veggie Burger - such a treat. Our server was attentive and was really great. Drinks were good. Margarita was very tasty.

Even now as it's been Bartlett's for many years, you can still feel some of that Houston's DNA in the atmosphere and menu. The vibe lands somewhere between upscale casual and classic steakhouse. It reminded me a bit of those old-school Steak and Ale-type places. It's a step above casual dining chains like Applebee's or TGI Fridays, but I wouldn't put it in the same category as Austin's highest-end spots like Uchi. It's more of a polished, comfortable place that still feels approachable. The dining room has a warm, almost wine-cellar feel, with exposed brick and fairly low lighting. When we visited on a weeknight it was packed, so I highty recommend making a reservation. The crowd seemed to be a mix of business dinners, client meetings, and people celebrating occasions. We were there for my mom's birthday, which felt like a perfect reason to go. It's the kind of place that works well for a special dinner, a date night, or entertaining clients. Everything we ordered was excellent. The Hickory Smoked Salmon appetizer was a great start, and the French Dip and the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich were worth getting again. They also brought out a dessert for my mom's birthday that everyone at the table enjoyed. Service was friendly and professional throughout the meal.

It is a sports bar It has a million attractive wonderful aspects. It has a million pain in the neck aspects. Everything is a good news bad news joke. But the good news is pretty good. * * * I ran into the bad news right upon entering the restaurant. There was not a comfortable table to sit at anywhere in the restaurant except at the bar. Benches were so low that it was like being a four year old at the grown up table. I would have needed a telephone book to reach the table. Regular chairs don't face the TV so you have to crane your neck to see the sports. Comfortable curved sofa benches exist, but they are 500 miles from the TV. So I tried seat after seat after seat before ending up at the bar. The bar was okay. * * * The bar choices are ample and slim. There were surprisingly thin offerings on beer. There were WONDERFUL listings on bourbon and rye. I am a rye drinker, so I was in hog heaven. The tequila listings were pretty good too. Gin drinkers, scotch drinkers and vodka drinkers were just going to have to take what was available. The cocktail menu was about average. I was in a golden cloud of glory with all my choices. Angel's Envy Rye is first rate libation that is simultaneously fiercely peppery and sublimely smooth. Rough on the taste means usually means rough going down. This was BDSM with the grace of a feather. I was in love. * * * Chile con carne was a beautiful chili with brisket rather than the usual hamburger. Flavoring was superb. The brisket chunks were three times as big as you would comfortably want to put in your mouth all at once. You don't want to take a fork and knife to a bowlful of chili. So I was struggling to eat my meat all night while at the same time admiring the quality of the recipe. Cover 3 Kitchen Preppers: How much extra work is it really to cut your meat into manageablely sized pieces? * * * Garlic Mashed Potatoes had a picture of garlic walked in front of the potatoes while they were boiling. Garlic? What garlic? The handful of mouthfuls with butter were good. The rest was empty starch. * * * The human beings working the bar were fantastic. Two of the nicest and most helpful ladies working in the bartending trade. Good people count for a lot in a restaurant. * * * The sports televisions were great. Watching Duke eke out a one point win over Louisville in women's basketball was good times. * * * Then comes the dessert. Dark clouds. The brownie with three scoops of ice cream, candied pecans, and caramel sauce tasted fantastic. It was an irresistible end to a meal. But brownies should really really not be the size of a big box store. Remember from English class - "Enough! No More! Tis not so sweet now as it was before." The brownie was three to five times the size of a regular brownie - and this was before all the extra stuff was put on top of it. It was super rich and super good the way brownies are supposed to be. It was gooey the way super brownies are supposed to be. But the only human being in history who could have managed that sucker was Diamond Jim Brady, the notorious glutton of the Gilded Age. (Four T-bone steaks, two ducks, a half a dozen lobsters, three dozen oysters, two pounds of candy and an entire pastry tray were a normal dinner for him. He could go for more if there were special treats.) I went from being happy and in a good mood to being a little full, then more than full, then Jesus-Christ-I-Can't-Stand-It-Anymore. I left half of that brownie on my plate, and left Cover 3 nauseated and staggering. Not the way you want to end an otherwise fine evening. * * * Cover 3 has its definite attractions - even if you have to put up with the chairs. Bourbon and rye drinkers, take especial note. If you are going to have dessert, Bring a Sunday School bus full of second graders with you. One dessert will be enough to feed the bus.

That kind of attention feels thoughtful and rare, especially for a counter service spot. They have a nice selection of iced teas including herbal tea and flavored green tea, plus beer and soda. It feels like more of a brunch / lunch place but it works for dinner too. This isn't a place where you come away saying "you have to order this one thing."
