Hopdoddy is one of those Austin born chains I love going to regularly, and it's exciting there's a new one in Mueller now. While a lack of free parking is a drawback (though there's plenty of metered street parking), I enjoy everything else about this new restaurant. The biggest surprise is that they offer a weekend boozy brunch menu until 11am with some fantastic special dishes I'd love to see any time of day. Like their Dirty Breakfast Fries are better than any other shareables they offer during the day, and the No Snooze Smash which is essentially a double cheeseburger with hashbrowns, shaved onions, and a fried egg with hot honey mustard was pretty amazing too. But of course the daytime menu is great too and I tried the Roosevelt for the first time and was blown away with how flavorful it is. Bison can be dry, but this was juicy and tender, and the arugula and cherry & fig honey jam added sophistication and interesting flavor, and their fried onions were the best ever. I cheated by switching out the cheese for pepper jack and adding bacon, but I loved it that way and would do it again anytime. As for the space, it's pretty similar to their other restaurants I've been to previously with a modern industrial look with concrete, wood, and metal construction and black vinyl upholstery on the booths, along with wall art of concert photography. There's plenty of indoor seating with tables and booths, along with a full bar that has its own seating, and then there's some outdoor covered patio seating with retractable vinyl walls in case of rain or colder weather. Props for the service too since everyone was friendly and eager to help, and the food came out quickly and just right. Parking is the only drawback I can find, but it's worth braving it just for that brunch!

This new location opens to the public in the next day or so but I stopped by today and gave it try. OMG the Cadillac Wagyu burger i got was 1/2 pound of Wagyu beef, swiss cheese, steakhouse bacon, crispy fried onions, Steak Sauce, Truffle Aioli, roasted tomato & arugula. The burger meat is and the highlight is that thigh steakhouse bacon. I could barely eat half of it, and the rest reheated really well in the microwave for dinner. The sweet potato fries came with a delicious dipping sauce. The staff here is great and it's the typical Hopdoddy ambiance. This will be really awesome for people that live in the Mueller area and can walk to it. Sadly for the rest of us, every street is metered parking at $2/hr (plus 50¢ convenience fee if you pay by credit card which is the only option since the machines weren't taking coins). Make a walk out of it and park on a free street and walk 10 minutes to save some money.

Upon passing through the velvet curtains that opened up into a dark mysterious room that has several paintings and various decor and I really enjoyed the candles at the end of the bar that were extremely tall and had the lovely melting wax all over. This evening they had a dance lesson and the gentleman came over and spoke with us afterwards, so there were several people dancing to music when we arrived. At the bar ended up ordering El Desierto, calenda mezcal, hibiscus liqueur, guava, lime juice. No, I'm normally not a Mezcal type of lady however, this drink yeah absolutely phenomenal. I'm not sure what the rim was coded with. It was kind of salty kind of sweet. It really complimented the drink very well. The drink itself, however you couldn't even taste the Mezcal such a wonderful blend now they do serve tacos from Veracruz restaurant next-door. However we didn't have anything as we had just had dinner somewhere else. The restrooms were also very clean and tidy I enjoy the unique faucet handle that was a gear and turned versus having the normal handles. Just go look at it if you ever go. I would totally go back as they have the dance kind of short lessons on Wednesdays and they do a little dance social afterwards to brush up on a few dance steps, but also to try a few other things that are on their menu

Inside the dim candlelit interior there's space for probably about 50 people, with seating around the outside, then some standing tables and a standing bar as well. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for a swanky cocktail bar, with snacks available from Veracruz next door for $9-$10, and cocktails run from $14-$16, with straight pours of rare mezcals available for increasing prices. Hopefully this place pops off at night, because I came at 7 and was the only person here!

I am obsessed with The Long Goodbye!! I first came here to watch the USA vs Australia World Cup…read moregame and then proceeded to immediately make this my own personal World Cup headquarters. At one point, I was coming here several days a week to watch games because I loved the vibes so much! I'm a big fan of their outdoor patio area, both in the shared Howdy's space and closer to The Long Goodbye side. The indoor bar is very intimate and would make for a lovely date night spot. They also have food options (there is a super popular taco truck in the outdoor area and they serve snacks at their indoor bar). I believe they do focaccia pizza slices on certain nights ans they are sooooo good! They also have a coffee truck for those who looking for cafinated options. The drinks here are fab! Ive tried all their spritzes, a few rotating frozens (if anyone who works here is reading this, please bring the banana colada), and couple of their world cup specific drinks. They have a decent happy hour. The funny thing is, I was initially going to watch that original soccer game somewhere else and it was so packed that we came here and I am so glad we did bc I discovered one of my favorite bars in Austin! I even follow them on Instagram so I can keep tabs on their fun happenings & specials

I noticed a coffee shop that was not open, but I would love to try. I wasn't the biggest fan of any of their happy hour drinks, but the bartender made me the most perfect French 75. Also they had a deal where you get a free burger for any drink that contained Wild Turkey Bourbon. Not a bourbon drinker, but I damn sure love a burger. It was so worth the shot! Also there's a pizza place right across the street that people brought pizza from, and there are small bites that look delish inside the bar. Definitely will be back to explore the menu more.

Some friends took us here for a birthday celebration, taking a chance because they'd never been…read morethere either. What a find! Rosé Gosé (note accents) is in an unassuming Airport Blvd location (right next to Jewboy Burgers, an Austin favorite). It is run by a couple from Belarus that came here right after Covid to open up a restaurant, with a sister in Minsk. Defying expectations, the menu is not Balkan at all. If anything, there is a strong Asian influence with poke bowls and a lot of seafood. But the menu also offers beef tartare on their raw bar menu, as well as a steak offering and grilled chicken. It's a diverse and adventurous menu, all the way from small plates to hefty mains and vegetable sides. For the dessert, try the pavlova, a meringue confection stuffed with coconut mousse and topped with lime sorbet and a grapefruit slice sidecar. Everything is superbly presented, and unquestionably fresh and healthy without veering into twigs and berries territory. The cocktail menu is also playful, with a lot of nontraditional glassware and slight spins on popular drinks; their version of a Paloma uses prosecco instead of a splash of soda. The servers are all dressed in rosé jumpsuits and very attentive. The space is amiable and elegant without being pretentious. The table spacing is a little close, so that conversations carry between guests. The table setting has some nice touches, like the little wooden bench that holds your fork and knife off the table. In European fashion, water can be asked for but it won't be served with ice. Plan on taking your time and enjoying course after course.

My hubs chose Rosé Gosé for my Mother's Day brunch location. In full transparency, choosing a…read morerestaurant is not his jam. However, today major shout out to the hubs. Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.

We were able to have a conversation without feeling like others were listening. The music is very different than the vibe of the actual area. They were playing different rap & hip-hop artists. We also got the caviar service, and I really enjoyed that. Was not crazy about the blinis, I believe they were made with black corn flour. The crème fraîche was very nice. Very nice night out. There is something for everyone--no kidding. I loved their spin on a Paloma and my friends enjoyed standard items like old fashions and Moscow mules. Very very comfortable lounge seating, plush velvet and other soft textiles with leatherette coasters. Very elevated and calm. Music is perfect but kinda loud so conversation is a bit of a struggle. It is very very very dark in there so it's super intimate and features candles and mini tap light lamps. If you have sight or mobility issues, you may not like this venue from a safety standpoint. Steep incline stairs lead down to this dungeon like hold. I would return in a heartbeat. Must have the password. Exclusive and decadent is the mood. So if it matches you, you have to visit!
