I dipped my tacos into this soup they gave me which tasted really good and that's my friend Robert in the back and me in the blue shirt.

I came here with a few buddies during work, let me TELL you about it. I was working with my buddies and we were working right next to it and we saw this place next to it and we could smell what was cooking and he must have been cooking something good because I have never smelled something that good. (If you have smelled something this good then you need to direct message and we can discuss) Then 12:45 hits, (lunch break time). My buddies and I did not even discuss what we were eating for lunch (we had tamales in our vehicle/home and I was planning on eating that because it is my favorite food but I said no this will be better). So we order, we eat and we love it. The food is what you want and tasted even better than it smelled which was crazy to me because of how good it smelled (I explain up top how good it smelled). Later, we came back to watch the World Cup. It went into penalty kicks! We were all watching it and wow it's the best atmosphere. If any World Cup game is going on go here to watch!

Great tacos!!! I'm always searching for a good quesabirria tacos and Jamie's delivered with delicious consume. It was over 100 degrees outside; we were thankful for the shade provided by the awning. BF ordered the mini tacos (barbacoa + pastor) and loved them as well, great seasoning on the pastor and flavor of the barbacoa. Very friendly staff, would visit again!

I got deep in a birria content rabbit hole and ended up here. I was not disappointed! Here's the rundown: -Birria tacos: 8/10 - very crispy, cheesy exterior -Birria ramen: 9/10 - succulent and unexpected -Brisket plate: 6.5/10 - good, but not outstanding Birria is definitely the way to go here. Barbecue is fine and sausage was pretty yum - but brisket was a bit fatty for my liking. Tacos and ramen were both excellent, so just depends what you're in the mood for. Grilled jalapeño was also delish (came with the tacos). This truck is a bit off the beaten path, but if you're in the area it's worth the stop. There is plenty of seating and it's covered, which was great for us since it was raining when we stopped in. TL;DR little truck with big birria flavor. Tacos or ramen, you really can't go wrong

Ok so I been wanting to try this place for a while. I just haven't been able to get to it. Today I was able to make it out and try their Queso Birria tacos. The tacos were decent. They weren't bad but they weren't the best. In my opinion. I feel like the tortilla did not have enough of the consommé flavor. I think they were a little pricey as well for just three tacos. I've been to the Tejas Birria and you get four of the Queso Birria for the same price they have theirs and I feel like Tejas Birria are more stuffed. The worker was nice and polite and welcoming. The area was clean as well. It would be very nice if they added some type of mist fan or a fan for their customers for this Texas weather! Overall would I go back yes but it's not my top choice for Birria tacos.

Storefront with pretty lights (there were also picnic tables not pictured)

Found this place on accident while driving in the Austin outskirts. It was late at night and we were the only people there- you pull directly off the road into a parking lot with picnic tables and plenty of seating for the small BBQ stand. It is also in front of a spacious field perfect for frisbee or soccer, and at night, was far enough from other light pollution to provide a nice view of the night sky. Since we were there by ourselves late at night, it had a really cool vibe- very small-road-trip-stop in a movie. Total hidden gem. The BBQ is smoked on sight (you can see the smoker in the video attached) and they have a simple BBQ/Mexican fusion menu. We got the chopped brisket sandwich and the torta, and ate the brisket sandwich before we could take a picture! The sandwiches are about 1/2 the size of the torta, and the torta was MASSIVE. Very spicy but absolutely delicious- if spice is an issue just ask them to go easy on the jalapeños. The sauce was also delicious- spicy, less sweet. We will definitely be back!

Fuego, good assortment of options. Tacos from down south and brisket from central Texas. An Austin hidden gem.

This hidden gem is worth a stop! The ribs are reminiscent of Memphis dry rub with Texas heat. Very tasty sauce and sides. Go for it!

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average

So we were thinking of tacos or Mexican food and my daughter suggested this spot as she had come here with some friends and really enjoyed their sopecitos. I had never had a sopecito! What is that! So we had to try... We were lucky to arrive at the right time (9 pm!) where we got their last table!! Make reservations or something because this is another one of those places that fills up! So- we were taken care of immediately: chips and some very hot salsas were set on the table while we chose. They menu is in QR code format, but we asked and got paper menus as well. Well I got the chicken sopecitos , my daughter got the pork ones and my partner got the meat tacos. Everything was delicious, the food arrived promptly, the portion size was perfect and bountiful and everything was super enjoyable. I really enjoyed trying some New Mexican favorites. Next time I will try some other delicacies since I always get tacos tacos burritos or quesadillas: time for some new items on the menu! Enjoy!

We started with their famous house Margaritas with Tajín, and they were absolutely delicious--and definitely strong in the best way. My boyfriend and I shared the Ceviche Las Brisas, which was incredibly fresh with generous, perfectly cut pieces of fresh white fish from the Gulf of Mexico. For our main dish, we split the vegetable Enchiladas de Mole Poblano, served with rice and black refried beans. I wish the enchiladas had more vegetables. Everything on the plate was outstanding, and I truly think they have the best mole in town--rich, complex, and unforgettable. We were also celebrating a friend's birthday, and the staff made it extra special by surprising her with a complimentary Tres Leches cake, which was just as amazing as everything else we had. Great food, lively atmosphere, and wonderful service--Fonda San Miguel continues to be one of our favorite spots. We can't wait to go back!
