The tacos are amazing and the salsa is obviously homemade. Your given the option of soft or hard tacos. I would suggest hard as that's my preference. The tacos were authentic and the consomé complimented them really well. The consomé was different than what I'm used to as it had a more thick consistency and a bit salty but the flavor was great & hit well with the tacos! The quesadilla was a flour tortilla I believe so it wasn't the best for me but the cheese, sauce, Cheetos & birria made it up for sure. I used to go to Birria Queen when she sold from her apartment up in north Austin. At first it was really good but overtime we noticed the flavor was inconsistent and super salty at times. At the time, her tacos while on the smaller side, were super meaty though and she gave consomé in an 8 oz styrofoam cup. We decided to take a break from ordering BQ bc it felt like such a hassle to place an order over the phone 15-20 minutes before arriving only to have e to wait another 15-20 minutes once we got there and paid. The last straw for me was ordering a $15 shin ramen and getting it super soggy with no liquid in it. It had been over a year since I last tried BQ and I read she relocated to south Austin, so I decided to give it a another shot after all this time. Unfortunately the Birria tacos were underwhelming and overpriced. The flavor is very very well seasoned, almost too well seasoned border line salty as I remember. The tacos were scrawny, like a quesadilla with some meat in it. I was not asked if I wanted onions and cilantro, I assumed they came with the tacos like last time I had them. The consomé came in a small plastic dipping like cup. Her FB menu shows the taco plate to be $15.50, I was charged $17.50. I didn't say anything bc I was embarrassed. I get inflation is causing prices to rise, but at least let us know. I do not recommend. Palo Seco, formally La Tunita, is much MUCH better and better bang for your buck. read more
