My daughter and I love Birria, so when she told me about this spot I said "it better be worth a 40 minute drive from North Austin"... the verdict is in and it was very much worth the drive! These tacos are heavier than they look they are stuffed to the max with beef n cheese, I couldn't make it to the 4th taco I was too full. LOTS of cilantro, onions, and lime on the side so you can use as much or as little as you want in each taco. A very big cup of broth you will not run out if you soak every bite. In all honesty, I will start by saying the birria queso tacos were legit 10/10. They were really really good. The consume was also really good. They also loaded it up with the meats. They did not skimp out whatsoever which is respectable. The wait for 3 orders of tacos and a licuado wasn't bad, it was maybe 15 minutes. They weren't extremely busy tho. I will say I wasn't dying to go back once a week, because it wasn't necessarily cheap. Also there's not maybe solid Birria options in south Austin so I can't really argue with the prices. My husband and I enjoyed Tejas Birria. The quesabirria tacos were delicious. This was the most reasonably priced Birria taco place I've been to considering the portions were large. The consommé was flavorful and delicious to dip the tacos in. It came with yummy green salsa and cilantro and onions. Employees were nice and brought our order fast for a food truck (although no one was in front of us in line). Lots of picnic tables for seating. The food was really good but it took a while. I'd suggest coming when it's a nice day and you aren't in a hurry. There was a short line when I got there and the sitting area outside the food truck was full. I went on a Sunday and it was a beautiful day so it was crowded! I got the Birria Melt and a Mexican Coke. It was delicious. It was a pretty big sandwich, so I only ate half there and took the rest home for lunch the next day and even heated up in the microwave, it still tasted good.
