I came here with a few buddies during work, let me TELL you about it…read more I was working with my buddies and we were working right next to it and we saw this place next to it and we could smell what was cooking and he must have been cooking something good because I have never smelled something that good. (If you have smelled something this good then you need to direct message and we can discuss) Then 12:45 hits, (lunch break time). My buddies and I did not even discuss what we were eating for lunch (we had tamales in our vehicle/home and I was planning on eating that because it is my favorite food but I said no this will be better). So we order, we eat and we love it. The food is what you want and tasted even better than it smelled which was crazy to me because of how good it smelled (I explain up top how good it smelled). Later, we came back to watch the World Cup. It went into penalty kicks! We were all watching it and wow it's the best atmosphere. If any World Cup game is going on go here to watch!

I ordered the quesabirria taco plate (comes with 3 tacos, consome, raw onion and cilantro, chopped grilled onion and a green pepper on the side. My friends got their regular taco plate and a turkey leg. The food came out pretty quickly. The flavor in my tacos wasn't as great as I'd hoped it would be as it was missing something, but I was just happy to be fed after the long day I'd had.

I love that El Comalito chose aesthetic and targeting the Texas meat-loving foodies as that differentiator amongst taco trucks in the area. As you can see the tortilla colors are a nice surprise, but it's a really nice homemade take that I'd come back for. My husband and I got breakfast tacos and both types had brisket. The flavors were a traditional take but I loved it! The salsa was also a complimentary touch of flavor. The value is really great. 4 breakfast tacos for $18. You get a hefty portion compared to the usual lean breakfast tacos that other trucks serve. The menu is simple but thoughtfully creative. We are already looking forward to coming back to try the quesabirria, chilaquiles, ramen birria (?!!!) I love the feeling of a warm family doing something together. This makes me want ro support small businesses who enjoy their weekends nurturing something they love to do which is make good food. Please try it!!

My wife and I both got the migas taco - which included a healthy heaping of barbacoa. One on corn, one on flour. As both tortillas were hand made, both were excellent. That said, the corn tortilla stole the show. That is what will make me come back. Too few places make their own corn tortillas, and even fewer make them this well. Location: - not enough going on in SE Austin. This is a gem. Ambience: - food park has a variety of choices. For breakfast, can't beat this place + coffee from Cenizo Value: - the serving size is generous and the quality is high. Service: - a highlight. Fast and friendly. I highly recommend El Comalito and can't wait to go back for chilaquiles.

I wouldn't eat here again…read more I had high expectations with the good Yelp reviews. We ordered the ribs and the chicken quarter (which was more like a Cornish hen quarter because it was so small) The burnt end black eyed peas were we very spicy, which I like, but it was not noted and they were salty. We threw them away. I was not impressed and $7 for the chicken (see pic) is a crime when it's that tiny.

I ordered the pork ribs with black eyed peas and burnt ends, and everything was packed with flavor. The ribs were tender and well seasoned, about three in my order, and came with a tangy sauce , grilled toast plus pickled tomatoes and onions that were downright addictive. The Black Eyed Peas were bold and spicy, with chunks of smoky burnt ends mixed in. Definitely not shy on seasoning. They serve everything on compostable plates which I really appreciate. The staff was friendly and knew their stuff. They mentioned the menu rotates often, so what's on today might not be there next time. Small batch, small menu, but worth it. The truck was set up at the brewery, so there's plenty of seating--inside, shaded, or in the sun--and drinks come from the brewery itself. Only reason I took off a star was the limited options, but overall, the food was fantastic. I'd absolutely come back to try more from their menu.
