This food truck is located in the back courtyard area of the Belgian pub, Morte Subite. Outside of Spain, I haven't had truly authentic Spanish food since I lived in Pittsburgh. Yep, that's right! I digress. The food is smack you in the face delicious! Literally love everything on the menu from the omelette to beef Bombas, ham croquettes, and the charcuterie plate. Fresh, imported ingredients that bring travel memories back as though we're actually back in Spain. The chicken croquettes are to do for. So since they're located at a Belgian establishment, they also serve authentic fare from Belgium. The Flemish frites are spot on! Served with a homemade andalouse sauce that sends the tastebuds into orbit. I can't give them enough stars!

I'm a big fan of Tortilla Española, and the one here is just as good as I remember from when I was in Spain! I HIGHLY recommend the Mussels and Fries. Whatever oil they used to fry them in was so tasty. Super oily but with amazing flavor. Although the place is a food truck, it's located right next to a pub where you can take your food in and eat with air conditioning. The service is super quick and friendly too. Will be back!

If you enjoy tapas, run..don't walk to this food truck. The food here is incredible. The truck is located behind Mort Subite (A Belgian Bar) off of Congress & 4th Street. You can walk through the bar or also park in the back alley if you'd like to get take out without having to park on the busy main street. You're able to order your food at eat it on the patio or inside the bar, which is nice on a hot day. Back to the aforementioned food, the aioli for the patatas bravas is delicious. The potatoes themselves were cut to the perfect portion and fried to the perfect level of crispiness. The jamon croquettes were creamy and exquisite. The taste of the bocadillo de jamon was delectable and the bombas were great with the sauce. I want to return and try the paella. For some reason, Spanish restaurants don't tend to stick around too long in Austin which is a shame because it's one of my favorite cuisines. So please go see for yourself how amazing the food is here!

Austhentico needs more hype! My best friend studied abroad in Europe and said she was really craving patatas bravas, which is a really popular breakfast item in Spain. This food truck is pretty hidden, and it's also connected to a bar but you'd have no idea there was this delicious food truck right behind the bar. I've passed by this area hundreds of times and had no idea Austhentico was here. The patatas bravas were SO good. It was my first time trying it, but my friend said it was really authentic and brought back a lot of nostalgia. I love how it looks dense but it's actually quite light, and the sauce it comes with is delicious. We also ordered mussels and frites because the chef recommended it, and it was so good! I thought the pricing was really fair for how many mussels you get. I'm not even normally a mussel fan, but they cooked it really well and it's seasoned lightly as well. The fries were the star of the show. I have no idea what oil they use to fry the fries, but my friend and I couldn't stop raving about them. They're so nice and deserve all the business. Please come give them a visit!

If you want authentic Spanish tapas then come here. I've been here several times and it always so delicious and consistent! My favorites are the croquettes, Spanish tortilla and the beef bombas. Chef Luis is amazing and so nice! I would give more stars if I could. 100/10!!

A solid 5/5. I cannot rave about this place enough. It was quite the drive for us to eat here but it was well worth it. I did place an order in advance as I've never been here before and wasn't sure if there was a wait. The food was ready upon our arrival. We definitely over ordered because everything on their menu looked so delicious and we wanted to try it all. No regrets. Just from eating the food, you can pretty much taste the passion that had went into preparing the meal. - Bombas - 5/5 - Flamenquin - 5/5 - Chicken Paella - 5/5 - Patatas Bravas - 4/5 - Tortilla Española - 5/5 Other bonus points for me: - I love their homemade aioli and salsa that came with the tapas - Amazing service! We decided to eat there as we didn't want the food to get cold on our drive home. They have a tented area with mist fans to keep diners cool in the heat. Chef Luis himself checked up on us a few times to make sure we had enough plates/utensils and to see how everything is tasting - They put a little flag of Spain in every dish. Super cute! - They are an eco-friendly business I can't wait to come back and try out the rest of their menu. Definitely going to be getting the bombas and flamenquin again though!

After reading previous reviews about Austhentico I really wanted to love it, but my group left disappointed. We ordered to-go food from this food truck on a late Thursday night and were met with spectacular service. The man in the truck was very kind and seemed excited to serve us, but unfortunately the food was just fine. We ordered the bombas, flamenquin, patatas bravas, chicken fideua, bocadillo de Spanish chorizo, and bocadillo de Pepito de Ternera. My main dish, the chicken fideua, had flavor but was extremely dry. I left wondering if it had been left to cook for too long. The flamenquin also had good flavor but was dry on the inside. The mashed potato and ground beef bombas were tasty and were complimented nicely by the homemade garlic aioli and salsa. The patatas bravas were my favorite dish by far -- they were perfectly crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. My friends that ordered the sandwiches said they also both had good flavor. The dishes are pretty fairly priced, with a meal for one person costing approximately $14. I do not recommend visiting this truck late at night, because the road to and from can be very dark and difficult to see. Overall, we found the food good but not great. Several dishes stood out, like the patatas bravas and bombas, but were not enough to keep me running back.

A little bit of Spain right here in South Austin! Chef is from Spain (Barcelona) and cooking up nothing but authentic tapas! We tried the flamenquin, bombas, tortilla española and flamenquin . It was all delicious!!! So fresh and filling. In true tapa fashion, we ordered 4 dishes for two people to share so we could get a sampling of different dishes. As I mentioned, we had the fried potato balls filled with ground beef "bombas", deep fried rolls with pork loin, ham and cheese "flamenquin", a Spanish style omelette served with sourdough rye with tomato spread "tortilla espanola & pa amb tomaquet", little potatoes "patatas bravas", and the BEST steak, caramelized onions and cheese sandwich ever!!! It's called the Pepito de Ternera!!! Highly recommend!! There are also plenty of noodle dishes, salads and grilled sandwiches for kids! Located next to the hive in the parking lot area of gas station (the zone). The chef also offers specialized catering for private events. Check out his Instagram and Facebook for more info about his journey. This is a great way to sample many traditional dishes! We will definitely be back for more!

I can't believe it's taking me 3 years to finally check out this place! The paella was delicious as well as the croquettes. I would definitely get both again! It is tucked behind a cute belgium bar. The staff was very kind! They speak English and Spanish. The vibes are very moody/sexy with dim lighting. I definitely will be back!

They do have some parking available in the retail garage, it's a 3 hr limit but is otherwise free. My mom and I both had a cocktail called the "Ume Oro." I've had many interesting cocktails in my day but it's been a long time since I had a cocktail that truly surprised me - and this one did! I asked about a floral drink and they told me it's floral but not too sweet and that was exactly correct. The Chinese plum flavor with the ginger was a lovely combination, I can truly say I don't think I've had a drink like it and I love it when I can say that! We ordered the Fideos à la Cassola ($20) and shared it. Neither of us were very hungry and this dish was so tasty and rich that even half of it with the cocktail was plenty and we didn't need anything else to eat. The service is also phenomenal, our waitress was so sweet and at one point the manager came by and offered some Cava (like spanish prosecco) to our table and the table next to us. It is served by being poured directly from a very cool looking decanter, almost like a genie's lamp? He poured it directly into our mouths from arm height while we were sitting, it was such a fun thing to try! And on top of all this - the ambiance inside is lovely, it would be a great date spot. Bathrooms are immaculate too. I genuinely cannot rec this place higher, it's one of my favorites in Austin! I'll be back even just to have the Ume Oro again!

As soon as you walk in, it's open and airy. Lots of windows letting in a lot of light. It is a bit loud and echoey, so you'll have to raise your volume a bit. There is a small parking lot available. The food, on the other hand, had its ups and downs. The beef empanada was delicious and packed with flavor. For $12, it is a tiny portion though. The calamari was nothing to brag about; it's your standard fried squid with a side of aioli. The Spanish omelette was a heftier portion and I appreciated the side of toast. It was fluffy and filling. It went downhill with the baguettes. All the baguettes were too toasted, meaning they were rock hard and difficult to bite into. The salmon and cream cheese just tasted like your run-of-the-mill lox bagel. The pork tenderloin was overcooked, thick, and really tough. Not biteable at all, and no seasoning! Brie itself is very mild on flavor so the combination did nothing. The manchego with guava paste was a joke because they only gave us the manchego part and didn't bother informing us that the guava paste was all out. There was nothing special about the manchego. Overall, a so-so experience. Not sure I'd bother making the trek again for mediocre food.

Overall, I…read morethink Ember Kitchen is certainly worth checking out, but I think I might order a little differently next time. First off - parking is convenient in the Seaholm parking garage. My understanding is that Ember will validate, but it wasn't apparent to me how that works and honestly I walked out forgetting it and having to pay the bill for parking - oh well. I came with a party of six and we were celebrating a birthday. The team at Ember was very accommodating. We were seated downstairs in their "Speakeasy" room. It's a bit dark, but cool atmosphere. There are other dining options if you prefer a bit brighter setting. We were served complimentary birthday shots! These were quite tasty - enough so that I ordered another round of those citrus based shooters. Everyone at the table ordered a cocktail. Nearly all the cocktails on the menu are going to be served in a feminine looking glass and with a flower. The cocktail menu is pretty much for the ladies. On the bright side, they have a good selection of bourbons, tequila, etc available for straight pours at a decent price. Not extensive selection, but I think a good choice - enough that I think you will find something to fit your price point and taste profile. Our waitress was top notch. Very attentive and paid close attention to the orders from our gluten sensitive guest ensuring she ordered safely. We ordered a couple small plates as appetizers for the whole table. Everyone loved the crab cake. I thought it was tasty but wasn't expecting whole kernel corn in a crab cake so that threw me off a little. Market seafood crudo - this is a fish appetizer and as the name implies changes based on availability. The night we ate was a Hamachi or Salmon option. The salmon had a bit more of a spicy sauce so we chose that. It was a hit. We also chose a tuna tartare and it was fresh, good but didn't knock our socks off. When ready for the main course - our waitress had a number of off-menu specials to tell us about and honestly many were very interesting options. In fact, we chose to split a 50oz Tomahawk steak. This was a huge steak plated on a hot platter, already sliced off the bone with some fingerling potatoes. This was honestly the most expensive part of the meal (no surprise), but also the least impressive. Now visually it was a spectacle for sure, but the meat certainly had pieces that were tough with some large pieces of fat. Now I don't mind the fat, but when sliced there were a couple pieces that were nothing but fat, other pieces still that were mostly gristle. We all agreed the seasoning was just missing, it seemed to have no seasoning at all. It was also quite charred. One of the claims to fame here is their Josper oven and clearly it can put a good char on a steak. Some in our party liked it, but I thought it was a bit much. There can be fine line between a good steak crust and a burnt crust. I thought it was a bit much, and maybe why the seasoning seemed missing. On the bright side, it was cooked correctly to order. My only problem was, for the price, this was a complete miss. We also ordered scallops and the morida shrimp. Both were excellent. These were probably worth coming back for. The morida shrimp come served in a bowl with a rich sauce that was enjoyed by the whole party. The scallops come pan seared and were cooked perfectly - which is key to enjoying a good scallop. Be aware that the typical order of scallops though comes with only two scallops - rather light even for a single individual, because these were not on the "small plates" menu, it was supposed to be a full entree. Great experience overall, but we just felt not quite worth what we had to pay for it. Overall, it was just over $150 per person. What could have saved it - for that price, the steak HAS to be on point.

Second - they have Michelin Green Star and are ZERO waste - and they explain throughout the meal how they make this happen. So very cool. And the food - 5/5 for sure! So good to know - we learned that the best way to order is sharing. The restaurant makes items as they're ready, and that means if you order a pasta, and someone else orders the chicken; you might be eating your dishes at different times. Good news! We love to try everyone so don't have to ask me twice! Standouts - Johnny Cakes with toasted egg foam. Delicious and decadent - not to be missed. The bread - everyone loved it. The butters and honey made on site using leftover cheese, yogurt and fruits (aka zero waste). All the pasta, but specifically the Cacio e Pepe - perfection. I could say something about everything but to suffice to say it was all wonderful!! Thanks for a great night!

Overall: 4.5/5 [Dine In]…read more The staff was welcoming, and the restaurant is dog friendly! We brought our friend's dogs to the outside patio, and the staff even brought out a water bowl for them which was sweet. The food came out at a good pace. They recommend 7 plates for 3 people, but we only ordered 4 since we had a heavy lunch. If we had a bigger appetite, adding an extra pasta or protein would round out the meal nicely. Smoked Gulf Oyster ($18): Four oysters served in a delicious pork and miso butter. I am not an oyster person, but this one completely won me over. The flavor is already perfect on its own, so the peach hot sauce on the side is entirely optional. Johnny Cakes ($16): Six small corn cakes with an egg foam sauce. The cakes were a touch salty, but the egg foam rounded things out nicely. Pappardelle ($24): Oh my goodness, the pappardelle was so bouncy and fresh that we were perfectly happy eating it on its own. That is not to say the smoked wagyu short rib was not equally enjoyable. The meat was tender and beautifully flavored. Texas Akaushi Wagyu ($65): The wagyu leaned on the saltier side, though it may be intentional. What really shined were the beef tallow sweet potatoes in black garlic sauce and chimichurri. They were delicious on their own and did a wonderful job of balancing out the richness of the meat.

Lent is a 40-day period of spiritual preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesday (symbolizing the need for repentance) and ending before Easter. Its main goals are reflection, repentance, and renewal. After observing Lent, our treat was brunch at Ciclo (Four Seasons Hotel). Ciclo hosted Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg hunt including the hotel's lake-level ballroom. The celebration included live music and lawn activities for hotel and brunch guests. The brunch included a cold buffet, hot buffet, carving station, benedict station, and dessert buffet. You also could order customized omelets from your table. Ciclo's brunch features gluten-free and vegetarian choices. OMG...the Four Season's Hotel and Ciclo restaurant looked as though a lush bright flowered garden had been quietly grown there. Flowers spilled over every surface from the hotel's entrance to the Ciclo restaurant out onto the patio. The floral arrangements were stunning. They also served as a beautiful backdrop for photos. In addition, we ran into ole friends at brunch, which was a pleasant surprise. The standout for us was the lamb chops (one of my favorites) and callosal-sized shrimp. The sweet potatoes and ham were memorable as well with perfectly spiced sweet potatoes. All desserts were good today, however, the Oreo cheesecake and sugar cookies were the highlights. Our server was so attentive and pleasant. Also, Abribal, the restaurant manager, came over to inquire about dining experience. Such excellent service... Dining a Ciclo today was superb! It was fantastic end to our Lenton season.

Outstanding service provided by the staff. Denis was our tables primary attendant. He is super. He provides impeccable customer service which makes your experience even better. The garden backdrop to the restaurants decor is a perfect pairing. Our meals were excellent. We shared the Tomahawk in addition to our individual dishes. My salmon entree was really good. I'm calling it premium surf and turf. Great night with friends and dinner. Ciclo did not disappoint. Well done.

The bruschetta was the only appetizer that I wouldn't order again. It wasn't bad, but not my favorite. The bone marrow was smooth and buttery, definitely my favorite appetizer.

I had made a reservation a few weeks prior for our anniversary month. When we sat at our table they had a cute little greeting card from the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. Pro Tip: Just make a reservation way in advance and if you make it you make it. Even if you don't think you will be able to make it. If you can't go just cancel with enough advance. We started with the Meatballs that pair wonderfully with their Italian Bread. Flavorful and plentiful dish and def get the bread! Next came the Bone Marrow & Tuna Crudo. I will say though for some reason after we finished our Meatballs it took them quite a while to bring our dishes after that. Bone Marrow was divine and also paired well with the Italian Bread. Tuna Crudo was not what I expected because it was warm and I was expecting it to be cold. But it was good and I love eggplant. Our main dish was the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese. From the description it seemed to hit all the boxes since we are meat lovers (contains braised beef & pork shoulder) and truffle. I love me some truffle. When we ordered the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese I asked him does it have a lot of truffle flavor because I love truffle. He said oh we can definitely add more truffle if you would like when the dish comes out. When the dish came they had the chef come shave an extra truffle on the dish. I honestly could not taste the difference. Was not enough truffle flavor for me. Note the extra truffle is an added charge. Overall lovely experience. If we return we will need to try some different dishes to give it another try.
