Chicken & biscuits w/ gravy on the side
Phoebe P.

Great service! Food came fast! So much flavor especially in my pasta. And a much needed, very strong drink to start our Sunday! This place was nothing that I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised to have come and enjoyed our brunch here.

Chicken Fried Pork Chop with mashed potatoes, gravy and a vegetable medley.

We ate along the creek which is very enjoyable. L had a draft beer and I had a Mexican Martini. L ordered the green chili burger with French fries and I ordered the chicken fried pork chop with mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies. The food and service were excellent.

Eggs were perfect.

We were in South Austin, and Gemini recommended we stop in. The staff was polite and attentive. We had migas, biscuits and gravy, and two scrambled eggs. The biscuit was excellent with a pleasant smoky taste, and the sauce was rich and creamy. The migas were subpar and was flat, with the description on the menu being much more vibrant than the meal. All together a nice place that we will try again with different items ordered

I've been to Jack Allen's before, at the Anderson location and had a good meal. Went to this location a littler after the lunch rush so we were seated immediately. it was nice to be seated in the covered patio. Food had good portions, reasonable prices and came out within a reasonable amount of time. Got the frozen margarita with wine topper. It's off menu so you'll have to know to ask for it. Our server was friendly and on top of it. Can't beat some tried and true places like this place.

Is Jack Allen's the most underrated place in Austin? We seriously love this place. We discovered this location over Christmas and have already been back 2 more times. It's about 20 minutes from Downtown and is on the way home from where my fiance works, so it's a good spot for us to meet for happy hour or dinner. We brought my parents here for dinner when they were visiting and we all had a great experience with our server Jake. He really did try to upsell EVERYTHING which was a little annoying especially since we frequent Jack Allen's and knew what we wanted. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and was a great server though. My mom loved the short rib special and the pimento cheese grits it was over were *chef's kiss*. On Mondays right now they have $5 frozen margs and half off starters. The regular and frozen margaritas are strong and delicious! My fav frozen marg in Austin! Sometimes I add a floater for only a couple dollars more. I tried the shrimp toastada bites for the first time and they were delicious! We always get the queso and entrees vary. I love the gulf redfish dinner and recently tried the shrimp enchiladas that were very good too. Parking is easy and the restaurant is always clean (including bathrooms). Great experience every time!

I really enjoy always coming here with my partner. Its always a great time, the food and service is always good. My dish was delicious chicken fried pork chops. I tried my partners dish and it was great. Overall, always a wonderful experience coming here. Definitely recommend this place.

1/31/25- Last stop before heading to the airport.. One of the best decisions to eat here-! Server; Summer- outstanding! Super friendly and helpful! Went with her suggestion: Fat Jack burger- yummy! Bbq and bacon! Crispy fries.. Pesto marinated crab stuffed chicken- delish- Not heavy- and super moist- Love the fresh veggies! Chicken nachos- very satisfying- Bourbon apple cobbler- love the crumble and not too sweet with nicely thin sliced apples. Definitely coming back next trip.

Chocolate Bomb. A delicious New Year's tradition.

Jack Allen's has been our NYE tradition for almost 10 years. The service is very attentive, without being cloying. The restaurant is beautiful. I love sitting outside when we can. Even in the winter! The food can be hit or miss. The pimento cheese amuse bouche is always welcome. I could eat a vat of that cheese and a bowl of the crackers. The guacamole is unique and a perfect accomplishment to the hot chips and spicy salsa. My crispy salmon was just okay. The tomatillo salsa didn't really go with the salmon. It was too sour. And my salmon was slightly overcooked. The crab salad was overdressed, so the crab was lost. My wife always gets the pork medallions and it is consistently well seasoned. My son got the crab ravioli, and said it was good, but the cheese overpowered the crab. We finished the meal with the chocolate bomb. So rich and decadent. Make sure you get coffee too. It's delicious. Our server was charming and didn't rush us at all. This will continue to be our tradition, but I'll get a different entree next time!

Jack Allen's is never disappointing. I love their guacamole. It is delicious. Today I ordered the lunch special Crusted Salmon Bowl and of course the guacamole. . The crusted salmon bowl was delicious.

If you come on for dinner: get the barbacoa quesadilla and treat yourself to a "fancy country club salad" . You can thank me later. pair it with a Meanwhile Japanese Lager.

I'm coming down Labor Day weekend, and hoping to catch the Ohio State game there. Good spot?

Jack Allen's Oak Hill location has a cool outdoor/covered bar with TVs. I am sure the bartender will turn on the Ohio St-Florida Atlantic game since it is on ABC at 11:00 AM. Austin is full of bars but Jack Allen's does have grey food and drinks.

Dogs allowed on patio?…

I frequent Jack Allen's and also the patio area and have never seen dogs in the patio area. I doubt dogs are allowed unless service dogs.

Is there nutritional information available for the food here?

I love it and I count macros but they don't have specific nutrition information. It is clean and the trout or salmon are very clean. The fish and veggie tacos as well. Overall it's best for a special treat - but there are options. I'm a frequent… Read more

Outside there's a cute playground, gated, for the younger kiddos. Perfect for those who want to keep the kids occupied but also enjoy a snacky snack and a drink. There are plenty of gluten free options, and we ended up getting the Yardbird Chicken Sandwich on a gluten free bun, a complimentary Reuben sandwich on a gluten free bun, fish and chips, and a burger for the kiddo. All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! Add some great service - super kind, funny, and made me feel so safe eating there with an allergy. He was great, and even though he was busy, he did such a great job coming and checking in! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!

We waited about 5-7 minutes before someone came to greet us at the hostess station. After greeting us she seated us. Once we were seated we waited awhile before she came back with menus and she took our drink order. After a few minutes she brought us our waters and took our order. The hostess/waitress was really busy but despite that she did an excellent job taking care of us. For our starters we shared two items. The Carnitas Poutine which comes with fries, pulled pork, cheese, jalapenos and red onions. This was really good. The pulled pork mixed with the other ingredients was filling and could be a meal on its own. We also shared the fried cheese curds. They came with a tomato sauce and a buttermilk sauce that you could dip your curds in. These were really good when they came out. The cheese was nice nice and stretchy and the exterior wasn't very crunchy but added texture. Both sauces were good and each had a distinct flavor. For our main meal we all shared a bowl of the Truffle Fries. They aren't on the menu but the waitress told us that if you request them the chef can make them. They were really good fries. My husband and son both ordered the Southwest Pimento Burger which comes with beef, pimiento cheese, jalapenos, a tostada, corn relish, and aioli. They said that the burger was really good. I ordered the Harvest Burger cooked Medium. It comes with beef, cabbage, apple jam, aioli and cheese. I ordered mine with swiss cheese instead of cheddar cheese. The burger was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. I could taste all of the combined ingredients and really liked the sweet and salty flavor of it. It was just balanced so well. Overall Oasthouse is a good lunch spot. The service was good despite the waiting plus they have a variety of starters and delicious burgers.

We found Jim's online and decided to go around 5 to 6pm on a rainy evening. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by the most wonderful, pleasant waitress. We ordered eggs, hash browns, and bacon, and while we were debating on pancakes, our waitress highly recommended them. WOW. Best decision ever. The pancakes were absolutely perfect. They were soft, fluffy, and so delicious. The butter was real butter, not margarine, which made it even better. I was only planning to take a bite, but I ended up eating the entire stack. It completely satisfied our craving for breakfast at night. Such a great experience all around with delicious food, warm service, and a comforting atmosphere. BEST PHO SOUP IN AUSTIN!!! I've been living here for 10…read moreyears and tucked away in the back of The Village at Westlake, is a FABULOUS PHO VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT CALLED LEE'S. I had no idea it was even here and I LOVE PHO. I've been under the weather with horrible allergies and I was craving a great bowl of Pho Soup, so I finally Googled "Pho in Westlake, and Lee's came up. So I called up, ordered and drove over. The ambiance is super cute and clean. THIS SOUP BLEW MY MIND!!! This soup blew anything out of the water that I have tasted in Vietnam. Healthy and hardy portion. We started off with the spring rolls. These were the freshest Spring rolls I have ever tasted, and the sauce was incredible. Then we moved onto the 1 Beef Pho and 1 Vegetable Pho that we ordered. I put some beef in the Vegetable Pho, and it tasted phenomenal. As well, I wanted to add that I don't even like tofu, but the tofu that was in the soup was so fresh and spongy. Nothing like you've ever tasted, in a fabulous, unexpected but tasty way. THE BEEF BROTH WAS AMAZING!!! EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE!!! MY NEW GO TO PHO PLACE!!! Shout out to Brittany and your take out crew/staff........for being Extremely hospitable and inviting. ONLY SUGGESTION-I've been in marketing & sales, the restaurant industry, and the hospitality industry for over 32 YEARS. Now I'm in Corporate Real Estate. I've travelled the whole world and what I am telling you is that YOU HAVE THE BEST PHO SOUP I'VE EVER TASTED.......AND I HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE EVEN THERE!!! (and I've been in Westlake for 10 years, and I drive into that parking lot, minimally 3 times a day, for one reason or another). Why is this? How come I didn't know you were there?......Besides the fact that I never googled "Pho Westlake". I'll tell you why......from my experience and expertise, it because of your signage and name. With the name "Lee's Kitchen and Cocktails", I thought you were just another Chinese restaurant, and were loyalists to Chinatown Westlake. Which leads me back to how can we fix this, and generate you more business?! I'll tell you how you do it....I like your name, but I would have your signage company make a BIG black and white, LARGE sign in Italic, that says "PHO". Then have a bowl of soup with chopsticks coming out of it. But minimally a LARGE "PHO" in writing. I'd place it to the right of LEE'S Kitchen and Cocktails. That way every one will know what you serve, when they look at your name. Then I would go on all your social media platforms and ADD "PHO" to your name. Either LEE'S PHO-Kitchen + Cocktails, or something to that effect. LEE'S Kitchen + Cocktails-PHO. Had I seen this on the wall for the last 10 years, 3 times a day, I WOULD HAVE STOPPED, COME IN, AND BEEN YOUR CUSTOMER FOR THE LAST 2 PLUS YEARS. Please take my suggestion to heart and I can't wait to see your business thrive, even more than it already is. With love, Joanne and family

Make sure you use all of the sauce though because that is where the flavor is. It also comes with a broth that is so good we just drank it straight. Honestly better than the pho broth. Chicken Pho with Beef Broth ($23): The shredded chicken was overcooked and the broth was just alright. The portion was generous though.
