Four tvs on one side with various slots on and captions were in two of the four. Lots of beer on tap and I got the Cuban mojito. Very tasty however the mint didn't looked to be muddled as it was still full leaves. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with a loaded baked potato and the dressed Brussels sprouts. Great happy hour spot! We've been here twice and both experiences were honestly perfect. Easy to park and get a table fast. Happy hour is from 3-6 and has great food and drink specials. The $6 frozen margarita is HUGE. Well drinks for $3!? Awesome. I love the crab cakes and also enjoyed the veggie burger. The tater kegs are good, but HUGE lol. My fiance also enjoyed the burger and nachos. We live nearby now, so we will definitely be back. When you join the rewards club you get coupons right away. Plenty of parking, didn't have to wait for a table, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Menu is extensive, with plenty of options for both food/drinks! We dined-in for lunch mid week, restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating I understand they're still a fairly new restaurant with other locations in Missouri and now Texas. This was a win for my crew. Our server (Alex) was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. She was quick and efficient with service. I was excited to see strawberries for the kiddos on the menu ( my son is a strawberry fien!). Everything from Start to finish was fresh and tasty, loved the gringo dip. It was like queso meet spinach dip. Salsa is like a pepper salsa not standard tomato salsa. Hubby and I split the ribs and chicken tenders with Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised with Five Four restaurant in the South Park Meadows shopping area. We visited for happy hour on a Tuesday (HH ends at 6). You can sit in the main restaurant or the bar area and still get HH. They have some big screen TVs in the bar area that would be great for a game day. I was really impressed with their frozen strawberry margarita it was strong and delicious! Their Long Island iced tea was surprisingly good too, and their drink prices couldn't be beat. You receive discounted HH food items if you spend at least $3 on drinks per food item, which is easily attained. There was a lot of room in that section and we were fine with our high chair. We ordered bread and calamari for starters. I loved how they served the butter with a sprinkle of kosher salt. The avocado burger was great too - I appreciated how much avocado they actually put on the burger. The painkiller was great and I loved the champagne margarita. I came here last week with my cousins. We got there as they opened so I believe we were the first guest of the day. My cousins had been here but it was my first and I was indeed impressed. I got the all you can eat soup and salad combo because that is what I tend to get most places and you will not be disappointed. I felt like the soup was a great portion size because after finishing I could barely eat the salad but I did. The soup was great the potatoes were cut the right size and loved it. The summer salad came with pecans, strawberries, feta cheese, and apple pieces. Those were all of my favorite things. 54th Street Grill is a chain following the formula of a Chili's or a BJ's Brewhouse. Chili's has completely fallen apart on every possible measure of quality. This allows a lot of space for competitors to move in. 54th Street Grill is making the most of this. BJ's has not at all fallen apart ... But the BJ's in the Austin area are few and far between. The one I went to was far below the standards of BJ's nationally. So there is totally room for a good national bar and grill chain to claim space for itself in the Austin metro area. This is particularly the case in the farther reaches of Austin and the suburbs. Central Austin has too many yuppies who are allergic to chains - even if the local establishments they hang out at are not very good. (I'm talking to YOU, Little Woodrow's and Pinthouse Pizza!) In Pflugerville and Southpark-Meadows-land, No one is afraid that they will have their Keep-Austin-Weird card taken away if they go to a chain restaurant. So if the chain offers a nice room, good food and something decent to drink, people will just patronize the establishment and not worry about the indie-business-police. I like a good chain, so I am kind of with the exurbanites here. * * * That said, how does 54th street compare with the other bar and grill chains? Just being clean gives 54th Street a huge advantage over Chili's. On 54th Street vs BJ's, Think of 54th St as a simpler but still solid version of BJs. No homemade beers - which is a good thing since BJ's homemade beers s***. Not very many whiskeys and not very many cocktail choices. But they have the basics - so you can get a margarita or an espresso martini and do okay. If it was a drinking night at 54, I would get one of the beers on tap. All of their beers are standard brands - but the standard brands are nice enough. They got house wine if you are a rose all day girl. * * * The menu is smaller than that at BJ's There are two soup choices and not five soup choices. There are two dessert choices and not five dessert choices. There are lots of burger choices. They have ribs. They have a number of big everything-and-the-kitchen-sink salads. They have wings, steaks, and deep fried bar food. You can basically get what you want to eat ... But you don't get eight variations on any particular item. Execution is solid. I had a bacon cheeseburger with everything on it and a salad with lots of stuff thrown on the top. I was happy to have what I had. * * * The spirit of menu limitation applies to the TVs. They have screens everywhere you can look. The screens were mostly covering one of two games. They were good games. Stanford beat Wisconsin at Women's Basketball. The wrong side won but it was a close well played game. On the other screen I was watching, the Phillies and the Blue Jays were playing a real nail biter. If I REALLY did not want to watch one of these two games, there was the occasional odd TV screen with NFL replays from last year. * * * The people working there are super super nice. I had reason to interact with four or five of them. Everyone I talked to was an angel. A few knocked themselves out to go the extra mile. (I needed a place to recharge my phone. Two ladies went all over the restaurant until they could find my perfect seat.) The furnishings are BJ's caliber. One of the strengths of BJ's is the very very nice decorating. Probably, nothing is super expensive - but the place looks and feels deluxe the way a city club feels deluxe. I unwind every time I go into a BJ's. I had the same automatic unwinding feeling here. * * * You get the idea. The solid kitchen and nice room of a BJ's. Fewer choices but most of the things that most people would want to order. For a solid pleasant American bar and grill, 54th Street will do you. If previously, you had been putting up with the squalor that is Chili's, 54th Street has just come to save your life. read more

I was so impressed with this new neighborhood restaurant. The facility, the ambiance, the staff and the food were all of high quality. Our server, Kate was such a nice person and so helpful in guiding us through the extensive menu intricacies. There is a beer for every beer lover, same for wine and cocktails. You can spend a lot or a little, it's your choice but either way, you will be satisfied. I was greatly impressed by the fact that this is a new restaurant and there were no slip ups. I attribute this to a presence of management. The food selection is olympic in style so even the most finicky eaters will find something to eat. We can't wait to go back to dine outside. They have pickle ball courts and corn hole games to play and you will never be uncomfortable. Ok let's start with the center cut baby back ribs. I really never expect to be at a non bbq restaurant thinking the ribs are going to be all that anyway, so they were ok and tangy. I ordered the steak, loaded baked potato, bread with butter, coleslaw, steamed broccoli, tortilla and potato soup. This was superb! The quality and flavor of the steak was so delicious. The coleslaw was the best I have ever tasted..and that is saying a lot, I love me some coleslaw. It was crisp and not over sauced. Yum! I ordered the steamed broccoli and quantity you get is a great, the taste was exactly how I like it with a perfect little snap to it, not mushy like other places..
