The sausage patties were okay, at least they had some flavor. The pancakes were good, probably the best part of the meal. The wait wasn't long to be seated at our booth. The waitress came over right away to bring the menus and to take our drink orders. She brought our drinks and took our orders. This is where the service starts to go down hill. Our food came about 47 minutes after we placed our order. We had to flag our waitress down several times to get our drinks refilled. She never came back to our booth to see if we needed anything. Had to even flag her down to get our check. The cafe seemed to be clean. The area that we were seated in was a little claustrophobic because we were in a hallway type area. Wow, I absolutely loved this place! From start to finish, the entire experience was wonderful. Our server was a lovely young lady with the biggest, warmest smile, which made us feel so welcome. The service was a little slow and it was hard to get drink refills, but it was a holiday so idk how it would be on a normal day. I brought a friend here for a birthday brunch. We drove past mini breakfast places in between New Braunfels and San Marcos and ended up here. We were seated quickly and our waiter was good. I don't remember his name, but he was of Hispanic descent and had a ponytail in his hair. We were seated in a corner that was pretty crowded. There was a patron at the table right next to us who had one of her legs propped up to keep it elevated and rested while she ate. Her walker was right behind her so my friend and I were kind of crammed in a tiny two seater table in the corner. We placed our orders and the food came up fairly quickly. It was really crowded on Saturday morning when we went but it was worth the wait (which was only about 25-30 mins, not bad). The hosts were very kind and attentive and even remembered my name when I came back after the wait. Solid 4* experience on our first visit to Another Broken Yolk Cafe. We joined their loyalty program so we enjoyed a complimentary order of beignets! They were not traditional beignets but they were warm and fresh and very good! My daughter brought her own cereal so we just ordered milk and they brought her a spoon and bowl. My son had the chicken and waffles and was in heaven. First off, let me say that our server Sebastian was awesome. The reason why this was so bad it was a food. I ordered the crab cake Benedict as soon as I've bit into it I felt cold and soggy. It did not taste right and it was so fishy smelling. I've had that before many times and never had that experience. The flavor was lacking. It just didn't taste right. I also ordered the beignets which were OK, but that orange marmalade does not compliment it. My friend shared her breakfast sandwich that has like a focaccia bread which was OK. They are very busy so be patient but when we were in line checking in never once did they ask us if patio was OK and they still seated us out there not even under the shade so we had the sun beating on our face. Another Broken Egg is another broken concept in Austin, TX on the breakfast scene. I had high expectations for this new joint in the South location. The restaurant was extremely packed/crowded and hard to navigate to your seats. The chairs and tables were bumper to bumper. I would say you had more space to eat at Waffle House then here. We had to constantly move the tables and seats when someone passed was becoming unbearable. We were only a 2 top, but had to merged with 2 other groups so that we can make room for other guest or servers to move around. We ordered our drinks (Vanilla Cold Brews) and it took 40 mins. I had to wave down the waitress to ask for Waters while we waited. After the waters, we waited more time, stating the Bar was backed up. I thought it was strange but my friend kept saying, "I bet the food is good considering how pack like rats we are and the long wait times." I wish the food was decent. It wasn't anything to write back home. The potatoes were just cooked potatoes, the eggs were just eggs, the bacon was bacon. The chicken and waffles was just that. We sat here for 2 1/2 hrs for breakfast. The only thing I enjoyed was the Vanilla Cold Brew and I added just a little sugar to sweeten to my liking. Overall, our server was super sweet.
