I like to call this my cute, colorful grocery store with the friendly staff, but it's everyone's favorite place, and it lives up to its name with the colors of royal blue accents throughout the store. If you work downtown, this is most definitely one of your lunch spots, or if you have had a night out on the town, I'm sure you have stopped by Royal Blue Grocery, even if it is to stop in to chat with the staff or grab a cup of coffee. We know the staff is great company, and the coffee is good, so why not? I also favored their old-fashioned sandwiches. I have had most of them and like them, but I really like the Reuben with the old-fashioned white bread with all the trimmings on the inside. Their cookies are a big deal, too. The oatmeal I just love! But let me stress that this is an actual grocery store with everything you would need and want, but more, and that makes this grocery store your one-stop place for everything.

Great service. Friendly staff. Amazing baked goods. Iced Latte - 4/5 Oatmeal Cream Pie - 5/5 Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookie - 5/5 Lattes are tasty. Baked goods are phenomenal. Service is great. Every time I come in, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Great location.

Extremely friendly staff and quick service. Only complaint was the meat was extremely chewy. I'm an Italian sandwhich connoisseur having all the types of meats from across the board but this was teeth pulling apart with my hands chewy. The bread was the best part and so was the sauce. Other than that not bad. Cool place for a quick snack or drink etc.

I stopped by Royal Blue every morning of my stay in Austin. I was in town for AfroTech and needed something close, gf, and delicious. They have a wide range of grab-n-go eats (both hot and cold bar), a cafe AND a very stocked grocery store with just about everything you can think of. Seriously, there's something for everyone. I specifically stopped by for the breakfast tacos each morning. They provide both options on regular tortillas and gf options, and they did not disappoint!! (Might I add, the diff salsas were great!) Thank you for thinking of us gf folks while keeping it delicious and hearty. I also tried some local kombucha by "Kosmic" and it was *chef kiss* How can I bring "Royal Blue" to Atlanta?! Serious inquiry here lol Overall, great service, accommodating staff, vast food options, and even souvenirs! A must for a quick bite before starting your day.

Yikes! Expensive $$$

Rip off prices.$9 for grape juice $5 for a small canned coffee. $7.50 for OJ. Haribo gummy candy $5... peanut butter pretzels $7... yikes. So much for supporting small brand stores. I'll go to 7-11 or CVS. Also $5 for parking and they don't validate. Smh ‍ The cashier was nice.. but seriously that's crazy expensive for basic products

Great little grocery spot! Has a variety of snacks and fresh foods, along with coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Got a delicious choc chip cookie here that had lemon zest... I want to try to recreate it! I would definitely stop by if you're walking the streets of Austin or want a good breakfast and coffee for cheap!

Texas Hold'em (roast beef) sandwich

Royal Blue Grocery seems to be the local bodega of Austin with several locations speckled across the city. There's a decent selection of drinks, snacks, salads, and even hot sandwiches, which make for a great lunch or even late meal if you arrive after 10 pm when many spots are closed. I've tried the Texas Hold'em (roast beef) and Cubano and both are great. Definitely try to grab some habanero crema on the side if possible - it adds a nice kick that helps to cut through the richness from the melted cheese and toasted sandwich.

I'm very glad to have a few TJs in Austin nowadays. This location has been there for a few years…read morenow and it's nice to have since I work downtown so if I need to pick up something on the way home, it's right there! There is 2 hour validated parking under the building so you can shop without worry. I consistently come here for the TJ brand of Greek yogurt with fat and honey flavor, and for their canned sparkling wines which I just personally find fun. The staff are always friendly, true to the TJ culture. And the little area around outside is cute and nice to get a snack or some dessert nearby.

Well, this is probably the best TJ's in the Austin area due its size and variety of healthy, eco-friendly products, so if you've not yet had the pleasure to visit, here's why you should: 1. Yes, it's in downtown at Seaholm but you get 1 hour of free, validated, protected garage parking right outside the basement doors. When you come in the garage, go forward and loop around to the left side to reach the marked TJ spaces. In 2025, you validate by entering your license plate number in the Metropolis kiosk - it's a breeze. 2. Bring an insulated bag for frozen items. TJ's has an impressive selection of high quality frozen seafood and prepared meals, appetizers, sides, and desserts that you won't find anywhere else at these prices. Lately my favorites are the assorted dumplings and other dim sum fare. Oh, and get ready for some fun on the freezer aisle, where you'll be tempted by all manner of sweet treats stored at eye level above the freezers. 3. Seasonal, limited edition items. Early summer was lemon season with lemon pasta, lemon pesto, lemon body care, lemon candles, and so on. My most recent visit, it was strawberry everything: tiny pies, mochi, dry cereal, etc. At Christmas time, my friends go wild for the kringle pastry selection. There's always something that will only be around for a few days, so you feel like you've struck gold when you get there before it's all gone. 4. Seasonings and sauces. TJ's has some of the best spice blends and prepared sauces that will punch up your home cooked meals. I am obsessed with the crunchy chili onion oil and dry crunchy chili onion sprinkle shaker, living in anxiety that they will be retired. 5. The nicest people! Everyone working seems to have a PhD in customer service. I always leave with a smile on my face after dealing with the friendly checkout counter staff person. There's even more to love - fresh flowers! awesome skincare dupes! great produce & cheese! excellent low cost wines! - but you'll need to come in & experience it for yourself. Bring your reusable bags!

Got a parking spot on the first row as your drive in. So nice that regardless of weather you can park and walk out to your car comfortably. Loved the murals as well. As you enter from the parking garage you can take the elevators or escalators. Well ya know I just HAD to try the conveyor that takes your shopping cart up ha they have attendants that help you place the cart on the conveyor going down and up. Such a cool little experience. Once we got to the second level it was indeed quite packed as expected, but nice and shiny brand new. We were greeted into produce by a wine tasting and then sausage sampling with a live cooking demo. Lots of sampling going on. I enjoyed the new store and can't wait to go back when it's not as busy. On the way out I stopped to check the BBQ restaurant menu. I'm coming back for the Dino Rib!!!

Contrary to another review, they usually have fresh fruit on hand; bananas in a basket and prepared fruit cups. They have a fair selection of beer, wine, soft drinks and coffees. They have sandwiches and other prepared food (e.g. giant $4 burritos) in the cooler. One time I had to ask for toilet paper and the guy brought it out from the back room. I suppose it took up too much space on the shelf. This is the alternative to Royal Blue, which has even higher prices, although Royal Blue makes some food in-house. On the whole, I prefer Second Street because Royal Blue has a weird vibe and some weird brands and this place is a regular store.

Honestly unremarkable. An independent convenience store that knows it can charge more because of where it is. The staff were friendly enough, but the stock was kind of limited. That might be due to so many people being in town that week but they seemed to run out of drinks fairly quickly. It's also no fault of the store but it's worth mentioning right in front of their doors seems to be a popular hangout for Austin's homeless. I don't think we managed a single visit here without being asked for change. If you need a quick snack they are in a great location, just don't expect an overly pleasant visit.

I picked up the ranchero bisteak and chicken Tinga and for my two sides, I decided on the plantains and nopales. Both of the meats I decided on were extremely delicious in flavor and the beef was exceptionally tender. I got red and green salsa and it appears that the red salsa is a tad bit creamy, which is not something I've had many times before. It was unique and extremely tasty. As for the green salsa, I have yet to try, but I am sure it won't disappoint. I do want to give this place praise because I have passed it up before, but it is not a place to be looked over. There's so many other goodies in here that you won't find at a regular grocery store so it's definitely worth coming inside and checking out especially if you just want something to do. The people were so nice exceptional customer service. There is seating if you want to eat inside and they were playing good music. I almost forgot to mention how exceptional the sides were. Often times people mess up nopales, but these were delicious.
