I appreciate the spacious environment. My local Supercenter is tiny and cramped. There is plenty of parking and the staff is great. The store has been significantly understocked across the board most of the time. So many products are locked up behind glass unnecessarily. You have to wait quite a while to get someone to open the case because they are understaffed. That in no way reflects that professional attitude and helpfulness of the staff. They are always friendly here. It is just hard to find what we're looking for and get access to it in a timely manner. read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my experience at the San Marcos, TX Auto Care location on the morning of January 28, 2026. I went to the Auto Care department to purchase and have a car battery installed around 9:20AM. I had to go find out what battery I needed, which was no issue. Once I found the battery, I took it to the employee to pay and have it switched out. During the purchase, the associate had difficulty processing my gift card and required me to walk to the front of the store to complete the transaction, then return to Auto Care with the receipt. While inconvenient, I completed this without issue. I purchased the battery at 9:47AM After presenting my receipt to the Auto Care associate with the purchased battery, I was informed that an appointment was required for the battery installation. This information should have been communicated before I was instructed to carry the battery to the front of the store to complete payment and then carry it back to the Auto Care department after the purchase was finalized. (And car batteries are heavy) I arrived at the Auto Care department at around 9:20 a.m., purchased the battery at 9:47 AM and the earliest appointment offered was 11:00 a.m., despite the fact that there were no vehicles in the service bays and the Auto Care area was visibly empty. We had both already been dealing with this for about 25 minutes, the appointment should have been the first thing told to me before doing all of that to purchase the battery. Due to my work schedule--I am employed in law enforcement--I advised that I could not wait and would have someone at work install the new battery instead, so I told them not to worry about scheduling the appointment. However, when I attempted to leave, my vehicle would not start and was left dead in the middle of the Auto Care driveway. I went back inside to inform the staff that my car was disabled on their property. No assistance was offered, no jump-start, no attempt to help only repeated statement that I would need to make an appointment. This was at 9:53 AM and again at his time, there were no vehicles being serviced at the time. They had finished up 1 car, and it was already being backed out of the shop when this happened, due to not being able to assist the other customer with his problem. My appointment was booked at 9:59 AM. They had 2-3 mechanics in the service bay and 2 employees working inside. One of my Deputies called and asked where I was because he needed my assistance at work, he ended up coming to the store 5 minutes after our phone call, we both went inside while he was IN uniform, purchased a tool needed to take the screws off, and replaced the battery himself, due to the fact that my car was dead in the middle of their drive way. The entire process took approximately five-ten minutes, while Auto Care employees stood by and observed without offering any assistance. I literally turned around and watched one of the mechanics drinking orange juice while watching US change the battery. Afterwards, I brought in my old battery to receive the $12 core refund. I was told I could not receive the refund because I had paid for most of the new battery with a gift card and there were no gift cards available in the Autocare area. No attempt or offer was made to locate a gift card or contact a manager and yet the Auto Care department kept my old battery, and I received no refund. I attempted to call the store location five times- 5 different departments...afterwards and received no answer. I have photos documenting the empty Auto Care bays that were taken at 10:14 AM before we changed the battery ourselves btw, a picture of both receipts purchasing the tool to change the battery at 10:14 AM and purchasing the battery at 9:47AM, my disabled vehicle in the middle of the Autocare driveway, the deputy replacing the battery, and screenshots showing my 5 call attempts and scheduled appointment at 9:59 AM . And again, no assistance was offered when we went inside and purchased a tool and the employees knew we were changing the battery ourselves. This entire experience demonstrated a complete lack of customer care, communication, and professionalism. I am requesting that this incident be reviewed and that I receive appropriate compensation, including a partial refund, a refund for the $12 for my old battery and a refund for the $7.55 tool we had to purchase for the unacceptable service I received. Also, there team lead was present as well...there was no reason for them to not offer some kind of help, at least a jump start be offered or something so I could move my car out of the middle of their driveway. No help was offered or assisted. But instead, they let my dead car sit there, allowed us to purchase a tool through them and watch a deputy change the battery themselves on Walmart property. read more

I hate coming to this Walmart. Their selection of items is always picked over very heavily just like the Norwood location. If you have to wait in line at money services-- forget it. Unless you are the type of person who has nothing to do in life and can afford to kill an hour or two, which lucky you if that's you-- I'm not blessed with that kind of life. My time is money therefore me waiting is causing me to lose out on potential money. They never have more than one clerk working the money services counter and it is frustrating. I know they get a ton of job applications. I even applied here and received zero reply back it was disappointing because I really need work right now (applied 6 months ago). I'm not salty just because I didn't receive a call back for my application. You might think it created bias but it didn't. I have lived in the area for almost 10 years and these are long standing problems that occur at this store. How come other Walmarts in the area like the one off slaughter or Parmer and 35 seem to have their stuff together. Grocery order. Delivered. Driver stole many items, and threw down the rest, resulting in much damage (like 12 broken eggs, etc.). Rest of the order was spoiled and hot. Walmart refuses to give a refund, stating that I have to ship all damaged items to the warehouse. After this happened, an agent told me to throw it all out. So, two weeks later, they refuse to give a refund unless I return all. WHO retains broken eggs, milk that was mopped up from my front porch, slimy spinach, a broken watermelon, etc., etc.? I am out $97.00 and even Paypal won't help. They state that Walmart needs all items returned to get my refund. Don't tempt me to get into the trash can and retrieve a bunch of slimy, spoiled, rotten groceries, box them up and return them to Walmart. The shipping alone will be about $50.00. I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER EVER SHOP AT WALMART AGAIN. THIS is the fourth time that I was missing items and they just say, 'it was delivered.' Notified me that my order was in and to pick up before Oct. 27. I arrive Oct. 26 after work and wait-over a half hour in my car. Turns out, they canceled my order and then treated me like it was my fault that I wasn't there earlier (before 11 am)-the day before the notice gave as the deadline. Then said that they THINK I'll get my card refunded in 10 days. Unacceptable treatment. Poor business practices, and all while keeping my money for two work weeks. I'm deleting the app, selling my stock, and taking my personal and company business (I work next store) literally anywhere else. I will gladly pay more to be treated even a modicum better. It gets better. Two other orders I placed for delivery have been canceled this week with a notice "Unable to deliver your order" and I need to reorder. I don't think I've seen a bigger parking lot that is FULL at any other Walmarts. It's like the place to be...but not really. I came here to find some liquor, and the person I asked told me they didn't have any. I think what she should have informed me was that Texas only sells liquor from specific liquor stores, and they're all closed on Sundays. Oof. I was at Walmart on a Sunday looking for liquor. Well, now I know (not from the Walmart employee). I ended up with a single bottle of Stella Rosa and waited 25 minutes in line because I couldn't check out alcohol from the self check-outs. There is always so much traffic here and it's very hard to get out as the road is connected to a highway where there is ongoing traffic. It takes forever till it's your turn. It was the worst service experience that I can remember! We have been Walmart Plus members for the past two years and this experience has made me question if I really care to continue. We needed four new tires for our car, which our son is using while he is away at college. We decided to give Walmart a try since the price and tires met our needs, and Walmart Plus adds some additional perks. We scheduled the appointment on Sunday for a Thursday install, only to find out the tires hadn't arrived. Our son arrived 30 minutes before his scheduled appointment time. We contacted customer support and were told that FedEx found a problem with the tires. FedEx? Really? The store employee told my son they would look and see what they had, low and behind, they had those exact tires available. Customer service said there was no way for them to cancel the other tires and refund our money because of a "temporary hold" that they place on automotive purchases. We would have to purchase these other tires and the install on another transaction, then wait 24-48hrs for a refund on the initial purchase. Fine. My son proceeded to wait in the store to have his tires installed. He has already been there since approximately 2:30p. With an appointment time at 3:00pm, no problem right? Wrong! The car was not complete until 7:00pm! Our son has an exam the following day and needs to study. Instead he is spending 4 and half hours waiting at Walmart! Why? Because the automotive department says his appointment was canceled and they were treating him as a walk-in! The appointment wasn't canceled by us! The appointment could only have been canceled by Walmart's system. So a system issue was to blame? A Walmart system issue? What about the fact that the automotive department knew he had been there since 2:30pm and had an appointment? Since his car still wasn't ready, I called at 6:25pm to speak with a manager and spoke with Richard, who is probably overworked and underpaid, to demand my son's vehicle get finished immediately. I was told the car would be ready in 15 minutes. I demanded a call back from Richard when it was complete. No call back until 7:04pm. I understand that they needed to complete the paperwork but 30 minutes isn't 15 minutes! And after already spending over 4 hours plus the time my wife had to spend nearly 2 hours on the phone with customer service...enough is enough. Far to much time was wasted. I regret deviating from our usual automotive service provider. My son is stressed beyond belief and exhausted from this ordeal. This was horrible! Seriously Walmart...where is the value in being a Walmart Plus member? Thanks for the $5 pittance store credit. What a joke! I expect better recompense! read more

I called to check stock on an item before driving 25 minutes to this location. Website said in stock but call to confirm. Customer service woman put call on hold for over 20 min. I called back and I mentioned I only needed to check stock and she said I need to send call to the correct department to check stock. she put me on hold for another 10 min. Whether or not everything is really bigger in Texas, the saying does seem to be true for Walmart! This Walmart is huge. In addition to the typical inventory, it has just about everything you'd expect to find in a grocery store. I looked at prices on produce, meat, eggs, juice, cereal and more, and they looked fairly reasonable. Cheaper than H-E-B, that's for sure. The wife and I came here at 11pm to pick up some groceries for the next day. Unlike what some other reviewers reported, there was no Marker Guy at the exit checking receipts, and we didn't run into any homeless people. However, there was a serious lack of cashiers, with more self-checkout lines open than cashier lines. All the self-checkout lines looked like a 15-minute wait, but the one we were in cleared out when several people in front of us realized that the machine didn't take cash (there were no signs posted warning of this). This was great for us since we always pay by credit, but the fact stands that this Walmart needs to work on its checkout efficiency. This would've been a solid 4-star review otherwise. read more

I have reported this before at this same location and nothing has changed. This is the dirties store I have ever been to. It is nasty. The parking lot is filthy and I'm not too sure of some of the employees.. Maybe it is a pandemic thing that now I am so watchful of stores I patronize. Unfortunately, in this visit I had to go and get something quickly for work. Otherwise I frequent this store, possibly once a year and only for convenience. On this visit, I had to pick up some packaging material and return quickly. There were so many people in there. It was impossible to believe if everything stopped and everyone was asked to ensure you are 6' apart that it would happen. The aisles are marked "this direction only" but it must be the clientele because some may not be able to read or simply ignore. Half people were wearing mask - a good thing. I went through self check-out to expedite things. At my other WalMart, we have a representative monitoring and giving the go to access the register. They wipe down each register prior to having the next customer come on. At this register, the representative was on her phone against perhaps a non-working register. Not once did she look up, much less clean and prepare the register. I never saw her once look up. I saw another representative bring some baskets through and pick up some that were left in self checkout. I may be wrong, perhaps she was on break. Again, this whole impression of the visit is only because I am so watchful of the pandemic and concerned for my well being. Perhaps others aren't anymore. read more

I bought an air mattress in the early AM after moving into an apartment and having no bed yet. It looked like a brand new box but when I opened it clearly it was not. Different mattress completely, blood stains, broken glass, syringe cap (likely heroin use), covered in dirt, and cheap hooker perfume. I brought it back the same day and was treated like I was pulling a air mattress return scam or something. No real apology, no real help, and I had to EXCHANGE it for another air mattress that I didn't want and was not allowed to get my money refunded to me. Return staff ladies were nice but the 2 managers or assistant managers I spoke with were horrific. I wonder why this stores reviews are so abysmal. read more

Hands down the worst Walmart in the city. I'm forced to come here for work. I'm forced to go through a person at a register because of tax exempt . They NEVER have more than one person working a register. It's a 30+ min wait to get to the check out. I CRINGE when I know I have to come here. A million employees walking around , ONE register open for customers. Never seen a manger and I'm here every week. I'm currently in line and I'm 8 people deep. With 4 more behind me If your looking to do anything fast I would consider some where else. Unless you want to wait in a long line for 40 minutes for basic items. With that being said the ONE person at the register ( Gina or Jane ) are very nice. So there's that . About 20 percent of the time I order grocery delivery from Walmart, items are missing or damaged or rotten. Their system indicates you have to return the item to the store for a refund. The entire reason I am paying for year-long delivery is to avoid DRIVING to the store. So, the lettuce is brown and soggy and they want me to drive to the store with this lettuce for a refund? Seriously? I have been tempted to keep rotten items in my refrigerator for a month or so, and then go to Walmart returns and hand them the horrible mess, to get my refund. And, let me tell you about missing items. BIG party planned. Ordered delivery and the primary reason for the order was for ice cream. Ordered three kinds. Groceries were delivered. NO ice cream. It took 1.5 hours on chat to clear it up to get a refund. I ordered a second order the same day, including flowers. NO flowers. Another hour to get a refund. They offered a promo code, but you have to order a lot of items to use the code. Party ruined - no ice cream, no flowers. I am almost positive that either the store neglected to hand the flowers to the driver (or he gave them to his wife) and the ice cream . . . either melting at the store or the driver ate it. He did say, "ice cream" when I met him at the door. He left too quick before I saw missing items. Besides, he won't have them - either at the store, or in his trunk, hidden. WASTE of time, hunting down missing items. One time Walmart delivered my huge order (mulch, wild bird seed, etc.) to the wrong house. They told me to walk around and find my items at another house. It took 'an act of congress' to get a refund for that order. Then I had to drive to the damn store to shop. I never have problems with Amazon delivery, Walgreen's delivery, HEB delivery, Target delivery, or any other delivery service. Just Walmart . . . not sure why I still shop there. I went to Walmart Monday January 10th. As always there was only one line open to check out with lots of people waiting so we decided to use self checkout. What a joke Modesta the cashier was overwhelmed with long lines. The register froze on my second transaction and Modesta keep telling us we had to wait for it to reboot. After 10 mins I moved to another register and was asking her for a manager that finally showed up did not say a word to us went straight to the register to look at it. Modesta is very rude and oblivious very over worked. It probably took at least 35 mins to check out. Unacceptable. read more

I thought I'd gotten in the short bus self-checkout line when the person two ahead of me was examining each product in slow-motion like she'd never seen it before before she scanned it. When she started picking things out of her basket, examining them, and then putting them back in the basket, I bolted for the self-checkouts at the other end of the store. I was then confronted by the mother-daughter team of "Let's not use the scanner, let's key in each UPC code one at a time on the touchscreen. But only after we awkwardly hold each item in front of the scanner for a minute in a way it can't possibly scan." And then keep taking the same item out of their basket and repeating the process with the 10 or so identical packs of turquoise tissue paper they had in their cart. Plus assorted other turquoise items. And glass decanters. Of course, the cashier in charge of the self-checkouts was completely worthless and utterly devoid of any semblance customer service skills. Rather than offering to help, she came over to scold them. She never told them what they were doing wrong, she just went over and chewed them out. Repeatedly. You could feel the heat of her disdain from six feet away. Not only did she punish those customers, she punished all the customers in line behind them. If you get out of this store before you die of old age, you're lucky. The only helpful associate was one of the custodial crew who didn't realize he was blocking a midway aisle and apologized. He didn't move his trash cart, but he did apologize. Yea, team! read more

I hate Walmart! I hate the idea of it destroying local business. I hate the smell on the inside. I hate that they have ten thousand cash registers and only one ever seems to be open. This Walmart is dirty beyond all other Walmarts. The bathrooms are a pool of stink and disease. I don't know how the employees can tolerate being in the building for more than a few minutes. I only come here because they stock Plains Pearl Snap shirts. They are hard to find so I make a once a year trip to this Walmart to stock up. Although I've been going to this Wal-Mart for years without much issue, other than the ridiculous traffic to get out, I had an absolutely terrible experience with the auto service department here recently. It was that time of year when everyone's battery went out from the heatwave. My battery was no longer holding a charge. I wanted a new battery quickly, without getting my hands dirty or wasting time in the hot sun, so I figured I'd pay the premium to have someone else do what I could have easily done myself, with the tools in my junk drawer. So I go there because the place looks relatively empty. There are four bays and one car. Turns out I'm actually like 5th in line, because they park cars around the side, to make it look like a short wait, so you won't go somewhere else. I come to find out all the other customers are there for batteries, too. So I'm thinking: 'How long could it possibly take 3 or 4 trained technicians, with the proper tools, to change five batteries?' Like 30-45 minutes, tops, right? I go in and ask for the best possible battery for my car. It's a nice car, I have money, and I want a proper battery. I think I might have even paid for that. But that's not what they gave me. I see several auto service department employees milling about the garage area. No one is working on anything. I go shopping and come back. Seems like no progress has been made. After like an hour and a half, maybe even 2 hours of waiting in their crummy little room, they give my car back, and it has the most dinky store brand battery they sell. I was so sick of waiting, I didn't even check it. I just assumed after all that time, they'd actually done the job right. A few weeks later, my car doesn't start. I pop the hood, to inspect my new battery. For one thing, my car has a battery cover. It consists of plastic shielding fastened to the car frame, with a little plastic porthole you can easily uncover to access the battery. They took the whole piece of shielding off the car, unnecessarily, and didn't re-fasten it with the little plastic clips. The porthole lid for the battery is gone. Wal-Mart bloody lost a piece of my car, and left another piece unfastened. One of the battery cables was not properly tightened. I tried to tighten it myself, but lacked the right socket or angled ratchet, and could only get it so tight with pliers. This is exactly why I paid someone who had the proper tools to do this for me. This was also the month my car needed to be inspected. Well, the battery was so small for the space they put it in, with no bracing, that it slid around inside the housing, and kept getting disconnected. This actually cleared the data in my ECU, and prevented my car from passing emissions testing. The car needs constant power to store emissions data, not to mention stereo settings! I'm a busy guy, and don't have time to deal with dumb stuff like this. So I simply put up with it for awhile. Every now and then, my car wouldn't start, and I was just like: 'Oh, it's that improperly installed battery again', pop the hood, and fiddle with it, until my car would start. Before I could finally get the battery cable tightened, I got a ticket for expired sticker. After a potentially life-threatening government intervention, I had a moment of clarity about the severity of the problem, so I had a family member with the proper tools tighten the cable up right, and I finally passed. That's literally all that was keeping me from passing inspection on time: Wal-Mart's terrible workmanship. The employees all acted like they hated their jobs, and didn't want to be there. I needed a $12 bike light from a locked bike accessory area and after asking 3 different employees they finally pointed me to someone who had the ability to use the loud speaker and after about 10-15 minutes the employee assured me someone was on their way so I continued to wait, in total I waited for 30 minutes and spoke to 4 employees in the location of the bikes and never did I get assistance for the only thing I came to Walmart to get. read more

If you need spray paint this is the place to go. At Michaels and Hobby Lobby, they are $8. Literally, for the SAME SPRAY PAINT, they are only $4. No coupon needed. They also have so many trivial unnecessary things that get you along the way. I ended up buying a four pack of body cloths for only $1.99. If you go in with only a strict list, wear blinders.
