Sam's club has pleasantly surprised me. I was a dedicated Costco member, but received a discounted membership as an educator so I thought I'd give Sam's Club a try. They have a good selection of ready make meals, a huge frozen food section, and surprisingly affordable bulk pricing. Their produce section is also pretty fresh. I always utilize the app and their scan and go feature. I never have to wait in line because I scan my items as I put them in the cart and check out with my credit card in the app and show the QR code at the exit. This makes my shopping experience more productive and I am in and out quickly. read more

Update: The appointment to install the tire that I purchased went well. They even checked all my tire's pressures when I asked them. There was another mechanic on duty and someone else was actually working the desk. Good move Sam's! Ordered a tire last week and they said they would call when it came in to schedule an appointment for installation. No one called. I tried to call and make an appointment because I called customer service and they said my tire was in. The phone lines were too busy for someone local to answer. I went to the same store to try and schedule an appointment. I waited at the desk for about 15 minutes without anyone coming out. So I called Sam's store itself to try and get someone to help me. The phone rang for about 9 minutes without anyone answering. Finally someone answered and they walked over to the tire department and had to get the service agent to come out and help me. He was the only one in the department. They may be having trouble finding people to work installing tires but they should at least have someone at the desk to help members. read more

I recently came here for a 4-tire replacement and they did a great job. My tires look great, they put on my new rim, and the entire service was 30-45 minutes. I was thoroughly impressed with the tire department and the entire process was painless. The appointment was rescheduled several times on my end due to other car repairs causing delays (I was hit in a hit and run), and rescheduling was such an easy process every time. I also use the pharmacy here and they are very quick to fill orders, even when they need to order certain medications. It's never taken more than 2-3 days for an order to be filled. All in all, I enjoy shopping here for certain things and enjoy the savings I can realize with cooking meals. Definitely consider a membership and don't forget to check the app for sales! read more

I owe Sam's an apology. What I thought was curbside pickup at the time was still the in-club pick-up. They've since created a totally legit curbside pickup that works flawlessly. Lately, they're often out to you before you can pull up the app and check in. They are truly trying their best to keep people safe and supplied. Adding to all the other auto department bad service reviews here. Came in here because I needed an emergency battery change. AAA told me I needed to have my battery terminal changed also. After they jumped my battery, I went all the way across town to this Sam's because my family has been a member for years. The mechanic told me they didn't have terminals, so I went to NAPA to get one. When I got back, they told me they would not put the new terminal I just bought on. Really strange, as everyone who knows anything about cars knows how simple this is to do. You can easily just do it when you remove the battery. While annoyed, I said that's fine. Just give me a little wrench and I'll do it myself. Takes about 2 minutes? They said no to that also! Absolutely ridiculous and the manager or supervisor was very rude and uncaring. I said whatever, I'll go look for a wrench myself. Of course this being Sam's they only have a giant $200 set option. Car was just barely able to start up again so I just went to autozone, who was happy to change the terminal, but their battery costs were a little high. Ended up just going to WalMart who easily replaced both the battery and terminal in about 30 minutes. Look at the auto reviews for this Sam's and do your favor and go somewhere else. read more

My favorite Sam's Club location. I also have another big store membership that I use far less often just because it is so very crowded. My favorite thing about this Sam's is how easy it is to navigate. It is never too crowded and I don't have to worry about being too close to other people during this time of social distancing. My number one favorite things and piece of advice is to use the Sam's Club app to do scan and go. You can literally scan all of your items as you go, pay in two seconds on the app, and go to the checkout. No waiting in line or interacting with people unnecessarily. read more

I have had some good experience at tire center , very helpful technician. I have to highlight couple of incidence that makes to give hem this rating.. 1: they would never hesitate to prorate the depreciation of the tires if they wore out too soon. 2: today one of their technician Patrick went out of the way to squeeze in installation of a battery in the middle of their packed schedule to save my day. He deserves a "go beyond" award. Due to company policy I couldn't tip him... but I owe him this review! 3: I love sams club's automatic check out ; in the days of corona anxiety it's the easiest way to get ur things and buzz out of the store without additionql anxiety to the environment around. What Can I say? I love my Sam's club! Who would've thought when we were kids that buying in bulk would be so satisfying?! The cuts of meat here are great, it's where I go to get steaks as well as this amazing bacon wrapped pork tenderloin! The rotisserie chicken is under $5 and helps when you're in a pinch for dinner! I always get several bottles of wine to keep on hand, my favorite is the ménage silk red blend!! I love their cheese selection as well. The icing on the cake is all the random hoopla I don't need but want and can justify because of the reasonable prices! Like my fall wreath I bought for my door or the crockpot deal they have right now for $30 and you get a lil mini crockpot for sauce to boot! I do not have a Sam's Club, but my dad does. He loves Sams and just likes going to shop around, eat the samples they have out and buy cheap jeans or whatever other deal he can get his hands on. The week before my wedding there was a lot of errands to do here and there and one thing was to go get all the non-alcoholic drinks for the reception. We decided to stock up here. We had a huge rolling push cart full of a variety of sodas, bottles water and tea. We also purchased all the clear plastic cups for the cocktails and wine too. We got it all for a great price too. It would have been a lot more at a regular party store or grocery store even. My dad has some sort of rewards or something because of the type of membership he has and he actually got to take $20 bucks off the total because of it. So if you are looking to buy some things in bulk or just like shopping for deals like my dad this might be your spot. read more

I have been to many SAMs clubs across the country and I can say I was puzzled on why it was not busy on a Saturday afternoon. I had made a stop here only because I was killing some time before my appointment at Sage Blossom which is located inside The Joint. Review to come on that. The parking lot is shared with many businesses but I still managed a decent parking spot. Score!!! I went inside and it was a nice setup with self check out. I love to see that at SAMs club and my first experience was in southpark. It isn't hard to scan your items and leave. Honestly some people think it is hard I have noticed. Please if you can't handle the responsibility of self scan don't get in the line for it. The samples people were out while I was there. I had joked to my husband later that he wouldn't have liked this SAMs club location. The samples had been healthy like berries, oranges, etc. My husband could care less about eating healthy so he would have probably not snacked here on samples and just grabbed a pretzel or churro on the way out. read more

Hey. It's Sam's Club. Reasonably priced foods, good meats. fresh flowers, but it just does not have the polish that Costco has. Comparatively, I think the prices are the same at both stores, though. Here is a tip. If you are looking for 1/2 price after Xmas ribbon, paper, bows, cards, and other Christbling, they are selling off the last of the lot. Hand crafted cards (25) are 4.00. Huge rolls of ribbon are about $5. They also did not sell out of Wii, Xbox, and PlayStation games such as Guitar Hero. Check them out if you are in the market. read more

Stephanie, Robert, Keven - Thanks for running a tight ship and honestly this may be the best customer service I've had all year..maybe 5 years.. My wife called me at work to tell me our LCD TV crapped out. We purchased it from Sam's the Saturday before the Super Bowl. My wife called the manufacturer and they informed us they couldn't schedule service calls on the weekend. I called Sam's with no receipt in hand and they told me to bring it in. Stephanie fielded my various questions over the phone as I drove the broken TV from Driftwood to South Austin. I made it with 15 minutes to closing time. I even forgot the remote. My wife had invited friends over Sunday to watch the season of Project Runway. 15 minutes later I'm walking out of Sam's Club with a new 42" Sharp Aquos and a gift card for the difference in the price. I couldn't even finish my grocery shopping because my son that has autism couldn't handle the loud music. The lady was playing at the front by the exit door . By the time I got to the front, the music was turned off and I thanked the man by the door and he said oh it will be back on soon because she (being the lady comes off of break) . I told him that we were not able to finish our shopping and he apologized. I believe that it created a hostile work environment for him because he said it's complete chaos when that music is on at the front door. read more

I want to give a HUGE compliment to Elizabeth at the customer service department. I had an issue with my Sam's app. She tried so many times to fix the issue and helped other customers as we waited to reload the app. But to no avail it could not be fixed, which was no fault of Elizabeth. Suggested that I call the number on the app to fix the problem. Definitely will be going again if I have any problems. We pay money to shop here, so why are we sold off as a captive audience to the Cable Guy, and the Siding Guy, and the Solar Guy - to be accosted by these people every time we come to the store. "Are you going to do your roof next, or your windows?", they ask, trying desperately to engage and waste my time. So he's paying to stand there and sell, and I'm paying for the privilege of being his captive audience? That is a sorry way to treat customers. 2 stars is being nice. No gretter , some girl just leaning off to the side. Then going around the store employees just dont ask you if you need help or even smile. Then going down an isle, two coworkers came down the isle my friend and I were shopping and one coworker proceeded to firmly talk about personal matters of their life and loudly. This employee aso used cuss words while talking with their fellow colleague. I went and found one manger (a young girl) who was helping at check out, bit she never asked me if I needed help or even looked at me, very VERY rude to a customer. I went to the front where the "greeter" girl had to radio for a manager, the young gentlemen who can to help was very helpful and even came and followed through to let me know he followed up with his manager. I am not one to usually make a rant about these things, but as an employee there I would want to represent my workplace well. My opinion of Sam's has decreased over the years, but I must admit, this particular location gives me a little hope. I generally stop by this Sam's to pick up one or two items. The store is clean and people are relatively friendly. Importantly, the checkers are pretty efficient in their process. Because I only have a few items usually, it makes it even more difficult for me to wait in a long line. But at this Sam's they move their customers quickly. I am often in and out of this Sam's in 10 min or less. Of course, now that I have informed the Yelp community, lines may get longer ;) But truly, if you are looking for a Sam's that offers quick service, this is the place to go. read more

The pickup order service is AMAZING!!! I'd ordered for the last year or two and noticed that in the last few months the quality, detail and attitude of the employee handling it is off the charts awesome. My last order he pointed out the expiration date was close on some rolls (I took it anyway) and this afternoon - several weeks later and without me saying anything - said the rolls all had plenty of time till they expired. I'm an addict. There, I said it. I'm addicted to their samples and the cheap hot dogs. I'm also addicted to their electronic section where I bought a 52 inch plasma for $700 dollars as well as a kick ass printer/copier/ fax machine for $50. We entrusted Sams with an Iron Man themed birthday cake for our 8 yr old and they friggin' OWNED IT!! The cake was very tasty and it was cheap. Tasty and Cheap, my two most favorite things in this world all located in one place. My only complaint is that they don't have an Express Checkout for those picking up under 10 items. Every time I try to get eyeglasses or contacts at the Sams Club on Hwy 290 I have to wait 20 plus minutes to get assistance. They usually only have 1 person working. The other stores have 2 people working in the optical. read more

Avoid the tire department! I went there to have a flat repair. They told me it wasn't repairable because it was too close to the sidewall. I asked to see the tire and noticed that it not even close and clearly in a repairable area. Yet, even though they claimed it wasn't repairable, they they still removed it from the rim? I didn't have time to argue any further and go elsewhere to repair, so I was faced with buying a new tire which was prorated. This review only pertains to Sam's Club Optical. Even though I have vision coverage on my insurance plan, it's actually a bit cheaper for me to buy glasses from Sam's than from my optometrist or from a place like Lens Crafters. The lenses appear to be just as good at Sam's as those other places: Non-glare, scratch resistant, polycarbonate. All good so far, except for the frames. If you're looking for a certain model of frames, or from a certain brand, you probably won't find it at Sam's. However, if you're not as particular, they do have a decent selection of styles and many are quite stylish looking. I've made multiple purchases here: A pair of prescription sunglasses this weekend and a set of regular glasses last year. Both were reasonably priced, at around $150 per pair (or less), and were ready in less than a week. More importantly, though, both were made correctly, leaving me with good feeling of quality. If you've read this far, you may ask wonder why this not a five star review. My only complaint with Sam's Club optical is that the contact prices don't seem all that great. So if you've got vision coverage with your insurance, you may want to buy those elsewhere. Overall, both experiences have been quite positive and they'll continue to get my business. read more

Dos and Don'ts of shopping at Sam's Club: Do: They've expanded the size of the 1-liter bottles of Ozarka water so that they're almost the size of a toddler. To beat this cruel Texas summer, get a whole pack of these (15 bottles in a pack). You may want to invest in a toilet paper dispenser like the kind you might find at the bathroom facilities in a high school or a convenience store because Sam's has some good quality 2-ply jumbo rolls of toilet paper that last longer than regular small rolls. And ladies, it makes for a good upper body workout if you install the dispenser directly in front of the toilet so you don't have to keep twisting to the side to reach the toilet paper. The name of the TP is Scott. Get it. Now for the Don'ts: Do not stop at every food station for a free sample. If enough people do this, then those that just want to shop will have to swerve around the crowds of free-samplers and nearly collide with others. My mom does this all the time, and I when I used to go shopping with her, I would ask her, "Are you here to shop or eat?" Move on. Don't come in the middle of the day. Yes, the store is huge, but that doesn't prevent us from running into people who just happen to be in the same aisle. Chances are the more people there are, the longer it will take to run your Sam's Club errands. At least from our experience. Finally, don't forget to check your receipt. The cashier occasionally double scans items. I was asleep at the register one day and overlooked a double scan charge that the employee did on toilet paper, and we had to go back to get the money back when I noticed the receipt hours later. However, when it happened a second time, we corrected the cashier on the spot. Like I said, watch out for the trigger fingers on that scanner. Linda Jones recently set me up with a new Sam's account by coming to the Allstate office that I work at and signing me up. I was willing to do the upgrade to the account but I wanted to ask questions about it and instead Linda just proceeded to sign me up and then left. I had not even told her the address, phone number or email I wanted to use. Why do I need a business membership if not one person can tell me the difference between a plus business account and a personal plus membership? I was in the store and Donna who took our photos and gave us our cards was having a very hard time trying to tell me that information- she was not very helpful at all. Linda- the sales person- cannot tell me either what benefits that I get over the personal account. I understand she wanted a new sale instead of upgrading my personal account but this is unacceptable to me because I was not given any information- I did not even know that she signed me up for a whole new account before she already did it. She used the business name without permission from the agency owner. I requested to put this membership under my name only and she told me that was no problem at all. I am very unhappy about the experience that I am having and I may just cancel this "business" account and get my personal account back because it was working for me just fine AND they DELIVERED my water to me which is something that Linda told me that couldn't be done for the business account. All I can see are cons of switching this membership. Sams just keeps disappointing me over and over and this experience was my last straw and I feel that something needs to be done about this. I am a sales person myself and I think it is very shady on Linda's behalf to do this to someone. read more

This place is awesome! Can't believe I didn't go here years ago for groceries. Although it feels like you're spending a lot of money we really only take one trip a month and stock up on everything. They have tons of stations set up so you can try different things and a machine in one that allows you to swipe your sams club card hear a little bit about some vitamin pills and then gives you a few samples! They also have a "fuel station" as I like to call it where I can eat some pizza and relax and then get right back at it! The place is huge and they have tons to choose from and I'll continue to go back when I'm running low on things! read more

This is a nice location because it's close to other convenient stores they I visit often. It is also located right by The Joint Chiropractic Place. The parking spots here are small and it is hard to find a spot up close. Not only do I shop here, but I also get my prescriptions here and the staff is not so kind. The pharmacy is slow and when I go to pick up my prescription they make you feel like you are wasting there time. It's not always like that, but I've experienced a handful of times and enough to give four stars. I wish this location had a drive thru. Other than that, I use the self checkout majority of the time and don't have much contact with employees other than the greeters at the doors and pharmacy. Great place to buy dog food! read more

This Sams club is laid out very well. The store is clean and doesn't have some of the drab cluttered feel that I have seen in other clubs. Like most stores l don't care for the pushy sample servers. I love going to Sams for many reasons, today I'm writing about their Optical team. I go to Dr Bruce Kirkland for my eye exams, at Sams. He is very throughout and to the point, love how you can make an appt or walk in. You also don't need a membership to seem him, it's $55 for a basic appointment. The Eye Care Specialists inside the store (membership required) are also awesome. I have been using this team for 3 years now and have never had to wait long, always received my glasses less than the time frame specified and have always been very happy. read more

I must commend Sam's today for taking such good care of me when I got a flat yesterday. A service man was sent to my home within an hour. He put on the spare IN THE RAIN. The next morning-today- I went to Sam's to get my old tire fixed or replaced. I was treated so well. Everything was fixed perfectly while I shopped around. For the second week in a row, I was charged for items I didn't get in my concierge order. I got a refund last week but had to return to the store the next day to get it. This time, I checked my order before I left and realized I'd only received on of something when I'd ordered multiples. I went back and got my missing item and another item they had but the shopper ignored. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized I'd been charged for two boxes of candy when I ordered and got one. Now I have to go back, and the store is nasty about coming to the curb to take my card. I use concierge to stay out of the store, and I have to go inside to correct the shopper's mistake. Also, last week I asked for a manger to call. Never did. Not great customer service. read more
