I grew up going to this HEB and 30 years later, it's still the OG. Every time I've lived outside Austin or gone somewhere, I miss getting groceries at HEB because they had EVERYTHING at reasonable prices. Plus have you seen all the work they do for the community? Eg after that horrible tragedy of the flooding of camp mystic out in Kerrville they sent so many relief trucks. And at this particular HEB, I've had friends work here over the years who said the felt really appreciated! I'm here for the meat selections, deli, dairy and center of the store. H-E-B delivers on all levels for me and so happy that more locations are opening up in the DFW area. When I came to Austin I would stock up on my favorites and take them home. Their meat is the best in terms of price and quality and I like their seafood selections. Their assortments overall in the center of the store and beauty and pharmacy area is really good, too. I say shop H-E-B always! read more

I love this H-E-B location so much. It is a super H-E-B and I feel like they have doubled the amount of produce as my local H-E-B. As you would expect in every H-E-B grocery store, this staff and people working there are so helpful and friendly. The store is always immaculate, and there's always someone available if you have a question about where to find something. I also love the H-E-B app for money, saving coupons. read more

We came here for a quick beer run but it's my first time at H-E-B after hearing it's a must for my first time visit to Texas. Although it was a brief trip I was quite impressed. The store is HUGE AND THERE WERE FREE SAMPLES. Impossible here unless it's an Asian market or you're gate kept by Costco membership. My bf got beer samples for beer brewed at a local brewery and was able to get a cold pack ASAP. Good stuff, love H-E-B. read more

Curbise is always 5 stars, BUT last month I went inside to pick up dog food. I didn't have my own bag when checking out, so I told the person at self checkout that I was going to use the basket I carried my items in to the car, but I will bring it back. If it's not policy for folks to leave the store with a basket that should have been explained to all staff. I didn't appreciate the woman in a pink shirt/khaki pants who followed me to my car. Watched me place the basket on the ground (I did so, so no one would think i'm stealing the basket), place my stuff in the car, and as soon as the last item was in the car i was startled by her standing next to me loudly asking me if I wanted her to take my basket. It was not asked in the "kind" way that someone would regularly ask. She clearly thought I was stealing the basket. I told her "sure, I wasn't going to steal it" and she just said "Thank you!" in an obviously fake nice tone. Did I feel targeted as a person of color? Yup! Never had an issue with baskets before with this. Yet I see an HEB cart on every corner of Austin where there is no HEB. Interesting. Just another reminder why I prefer to shop curbside. read more

I would rate this H-E-B higher but I have a few issues with this one in particular. Everytime I go, there is always an entire shelf of items missing. Like they don't restock on the busiest time of the week. The parking is not great and I don't know, I feel like due to the location, it's a bit more expensive for our neighborhood down south. I switched from the slaughter store to this one for curbside because i was having issues with curbside orders. I have continued to have issues with curbside orders. Like missing or incorrect items. I have sent a bunch of emails and the problem persists. Check you curbside order before leaving or risk having to contact them for a refund and having to go back to a grocery store if you want to be able to make the meals you planned on making this week. H‑E‑B is the best of the best, but they've really outdone themselves this time. I had a curbside order that was supposed to be picked up on Tuesday morning. Well, unfortunately for me, I woke up with hives and one of my eyes half swollen shut. I called the curbside team to see if there was anyway we could switch to a delivery order. Not only did they setup a deliver for me FOR FREE, but they sent it with a hand written get well soon card. Now that is great customer service. I've reported two employees mainly who I assume to be the managers who are there during closing hours. It's just crazy how they always seem so hard up to make me out to be a their. I've learned that at a certain point if they recognize you it should be them treating you like a regular customer. This is not the case. They insist I'm a thief. Up to this date since forever... I've never been caught stealing. That's because I've never stolen. lol!!! Idk what's wrong with these fools but damn. I kickbox on the daily and I walked in just to see the annoying manager up front of self check out and i yelled out loud to her "damn I always her profiled a lot here and have employees ready to get up close and personal with me even though I kickbox daily!!!!" Pretty much emphasizing they should back the hell off and quit being real jumpy with hostile body language. But they persist! I did further research on Reddit with their history of harassment of customers. I'm sure if it gets any worse these fools aren't gonna really like it when someone finally searches for a lawyer to call these fools out for harassment. It's simply that. No body comes in buying things just to end up having employees habitually hovering over them.... Either you recognize the customer for being a "customer" or you are just being a total ass HARASSING someone who BUYS the items they carry on their cart/basket/hand etc etc etc. like damn dude! I remember on the night before thanks giving last year I had a manager walk out to just stare at me with a pissy look. Y'all have no idea how much I really wanna humiliate these fools. lol either one day they will make the mistake and assume I've stolen something just to get their asses handed to them or a police officer will be present and I'll kindly pull the officer to the side, disclose the bad history I've had with the employees and then the officers will probably ask if I wanna press charges for harassment soon after. read more

This is a great HEB location, I'm here at least once a week. The staff is kind and I love their little cooking station in the meat section!! Be sure to check it out and talk to the cooks/instructors about their special deals. One thing I don't like about this location is how long it takes to get something from the deli. There's always a huge line. Definitely would recommend trying the sushi and potstickers, especially on Wednesdays when they are a dollar off. read more

HEB on Brodie really is poor quality service. Often poorly stocked and out of usual brands in frozen goods. Never had BLUE BELL MO SUGAR ADDED ice cream. Often out of Friskies canned cat food. Phones in pharmacy down every few months. Main store number also down. I called customer service in San Antonio. Remodeled and Restocked with elite expensive items but doesn't have the usual brands of usual products. I recommend any other H‑E‑B in Austin. The manager at this HEB just smiles but never listens. Even Walmart has the usual brands and products this HEB doesn't. Randall's also has what this H‑E‑B used to have but not now. Do I feel disappointed with H‑E‑B Brodie in Austin ? Yes! I love the sushi and pre-made food at this location. It's always fresh and beats my expectations. The dollar off coupons make it an extra sweet deal. If I'm not grabbing sushi on the go then the produce and fresh bread is an extra perk of this location. The floral department also comes in extra handy when I am in a hurry to buy some beautiful flowers to spice up my house. The lines move fast and I appreciate the hard-working staff! read more

This holiday season their selection of ornaments and decorations are so cute! They had cute little cowboy ornaments for just $1. They have an amazing digital app (if you are in a rush) you can look up what you need and you can see exactly where it is in which aisle. As is typical for HEB, the store is clean, clearly organized, and well stocked. The check out lines move along efficiently. These are all standards upheld by HEB in general. However, this store really stood out to me today because of a bakery staff member named Katie. She cheerfully went out of her way to help me with selecting two birthday cakes, explaining icing and cake differences, and even wrote beautiful birthday greetings on both. She was, in short, awesome! In the past, whenever I've asked a question, sought assistance, needed direction at this store, I have always been met with a smile, and provided helpful information and capable assistance. The checkers, who are generally quite busy, are pleasant, calmly efficient, and always helpful. As ever, GOOD JOB HEB! read more

I have been trying to become more patience with my local HEB, but today was a bit too much for me. Came to the grocery after work, and was expecting the number of people given that people are grabbing quick items before dinner after work. First the price difference on the apples was not showing the markdown. No big deal, took a picture to show the cashier. Getting ready to check out, remind you again this is prime grocery shopping time, there is ONLY the back row of checkout lines opened, with the lines of people going back to the beginning of the aisles! I hear multiple people asking if they are going to open other lanes. Unfortunately they fell on deaf ears...my husband and I get up to the checkout, inform the cashier of the price discrepancy, he takes a look and states "there's multiple apples in here" dryly. We come to find out the stocking of that apple bin had multiple apples in the bin. But yet I felt like we were accused of putting in multiple apples ourselves. Out of the 7 apples, he pulled out TWO that weren't the specific apples on sale. I then reiterated that the apples were ringing out to the correct price, to which I was met with the cashier saying he has to call for a manager to get a price check, manager override. I stated again I took a picture of the sale price! Price checking isn't necessary, because again I TOOK THE PICTURE!! To help speed things along!! Finally the manager comes, over, nice gentleman sees my picture and is like "ok, just mark them to the correct price." The cashier must have been annoyed because he was scanning our tray of ravioli (12 cans) THEY WERE ALL THE SAME, and again I state there is 12. He individually scans the cans and leaves them off the tray AFTER I said I wanted to keep them on the tray to carry out!!!! Your company really needs to work on their customer service, but it is highly lacking at that location! read more

I AM updating this at New Year's Eve because: Strike 1, strike 2, strike 3: This HEB seriously struck OUT! *** AVOID THIS LOCATION ESPECIALLY AT HOLIDAY/BUSY TIMES!!! *** 1. One would think that they'd stock enough of the commonly purchased items anticipated at each of the holidays & events. (Surely they have analytics/past purchase histories to make informed & prudent decisions??!!) 2. One would think that they're aware of the increased population in this area (to not only order more, not only to ensure stockers don't leave carts out that block the aisles/products, but also to have more staff on-hand to help or get carts, etc). 3. As a customer aware of the increased population, it's highly advisable to avoid the insanity of the madhouse at this location (don't know how the other local locations are, but this store seems ridiculous). I can't remember my Thanksgiving gripes at this time, but... Relevant to Xmas: Many people bake cookies, etc - need flour. Seriously, OUT of (good) FLOUR? YES- um- MANY in this area DO know that HEB/HCF doesn't cut it. And no, you can't force good bakers to buy store-related brands. Relevant to New Year's: Um, we're in Texas y'all. Many folks have collards and black-eyed peas. Seriously, collards out of stock??? No, I'm not buying frozen or canned! Black-eyed peas? Yes, this IS where I'm lazy and get canned. Yes in stock, but only with jalapenos- if I wanted them (no thanks, if I want my FAMILY to eat them). And no, my menu plan for tomorrow & my family's lack of desire to eat them doesn't afford me the time/want to make "real"/fresh. FYI only - and I'm not intending to advocate for a competitor, but to help other locals: the Randall's at WM Cannon & Mopac/Loop 1 had PLENTY of good-looking fresh collard greens (admittedly, I only saw organic, but I didn't look hard because I was "on a mission"), and they had a VARIETY of brands of name-brand canned black-eyed peas. Additionally, this store was scant of shoppers, void of insanity, I parked super close, and carts were readily available upon walking in! May your collard greens bring you $ in 2020! Also an overall variety of selection of fruits, veggies, bakery items, etc. The parking lot is huge so offers a lot of parking options for people. As a quick review, I would like to provide a public service and say this is the worst store I have ever been to. All the other shoppers were even acting in a distasteful manor, in addition to the lacklustre performance of the staff to keep things moving quickly. I would recommend the far superior Randall's store as it is a luxury shopping experience that you cannot get anywhere else. (This is my personal opinion and should not be taken as offence to any associates of the H-E-B company and or its assets.)
