Came here for a car inspection on a Tuesday morning and lemme tell ya - these folks are fast and efficient. It's a small place but seems quite equipped to manage a lot of car issues, and the gentleman who did my inspection that day (Charlie) was the sole person doing them, so he was cranking through a list of folks. They put your name on the clipboard when you arrive and just go straight down that list. I'd called beforehand to confirm their hours and theyd advised to come early so I came around 9a or so. I think the wait was about 15-20 mins? Really wasn't bad, I just fiddled with my phone and sat in my car. The actual inspection was also pretty fast, like 10 mins or maybe even a bit less. I appreciated the efficiency. Of note they do charge a 3% credit card fee. A lot of places do that nowadays, but that was really the only "surprise." They also offer a basic inspection ($12, basics to renew car reg) or a more thorough one for $18 where they check your wipers and lights etc. read more

Previously stated as a good example of an oil change, upon traveling back to my home in Houston I needed a new oil change. My mechanic let me know that an oil filter was never changed when I got my oil changed at the lube pit stop. Had this location at least let me know of this error I would have been happy to maintain my review but it seems at the least unprofessional not to have given this advice. read more

On the recommendation of my regular repair shop, I went to these guys for my annual inspection. They greeted me promptly, made sure I had my proof of insurance, and asked me to wait. The wait wasn't long, considering that there were about three people ahead of me. Boom, my car passed and they gave me my paperwork. The guy I dealt with was pleasant and efficient. The price ($18.50) seemed fair.* I'll certainly go back here next time. *The charge slip included a line for a tip. The guy pointed out that I could tip but didn't have to. In the end, I did leave a tip. This all seemed a little weird, and tipping culture has gone too far, but at least there was no pressure to tip. read more

First, I went by this morning (Saturday, 10 May 2025) and Don and Chris were as friendly and professional today as they were when I was last there 18 years ago. The folks at the shop still top off the windshield wiper fluid and clean the windshield while changing the oil. The only reason I stopped using Lube Pit Stop is I moved north and their location was not as convenient as when I lived in South Austin. Second, even though they no longer use Valvoline, they were fine with using the store bought oil, oil filter, and air filter that I brought for the oil change. Because I brought my own materials, the cost was only $47.95. Third, I plan to make the trip to have them change the oil and/or transmission fluid from now on. read more

They impressed me from the first moment because it was already close to 6:00 PM and the doors were coming down and when I pulled in, they guided me to a bay and a few minutes later took in another customer. What sealed the deal for me was the mileage sticker for my windshield: it was computer printed; so, I know that I am a real customer not a one-and-done. They also found a fixed a minor problem on the car which was not their line of business, but a quick fix for a skilled mechanic. They cared enough to do that. Don't go to Jiffy Lube - you can support a local business and get 100x better service at Lube Pit Stop! I came on a Friday afternoon and had to wait around 30 min to get an oil change. There were two other cars in front of me, but there was an employee checking in on all the cars in line and getting new stickers printed while we were waiting They have a cute little waiting area with a TV, coffee, and magazines while you are getting your oil change. Everyone that I interacted with was extremely nice and helpful! I never felt like they were trying to upsell me with anything, and I was in and out in ~15 minutes after they got to my car. I'm currently here three months later for my next oil change and when I pulled in they remembered exactly what my car needed and had already been preparing it before I pulled into the bay. The entire process is so ridiculously fast and they have an air conditioned space that you can wait if you don't want to wait in your car. Not to mention it's the cheapest full synthetic oil change I've ever gotten in Austin. They also offer state inspections which is convenient as hell. This was our first time here to change the oil in my son's car. He is a new driver and the guys at the Lube Pit Stop showed him how to reset the oil number on the dash and when to bring the car back. I went in for a full-synthetic oil/filter change on Saturday morning, 10/12/2024. Service was prompt and friendly, if a little more expensive than my norm. HOWEVER, the issue was the fact that the Lube Pit Stop technician in the pit failed to replace all four of the front retaining screws on my engine splash shield. The splash shield detached during my drive the next day, and needs a repair. So, not only am I missing the 4 retainers, but I now have to get it fixed (this service really requires a lift). My Subaru WRX needed synthetic and I have paid $90-$110 in the past so price was more than fair for labor, parts and oil. Their services team presented a few options, was super friendly and efficient and had me in and out with no fuss. I came to get my oil changed and have a car inspection done around 10AM on Saturday. It was a bit of a drive downtown but I saw great reviews on Yelp and figured it was worth it. There were two cars aside from mine at the time. I drove in and was guided to the parking spot in their garage. All of the staff were friendly and all wore masks. I expected the whole process to take an hour but I was there for maybe 30 minutes. Price was reasonable and they also give you your documents in a nice folded envelope for organized safe keeping with their logo on it. They also wiped off my windshield which was a nice bonus! negligence in writing down the correct vin number in the online form the state uses to valid the inspection, that wastes three hours of my time on a fruitless trip to the dmv, is not compensated, or even cared about by the management of this store. The most important number to get right, that is in two other places in front of the technician to verify, that any prudent person would take care to write correctly was not done correctly. i am being told by the management that "it was a mistake" to write one digit wrong... i was told i get a "free inspection" as compensation... and it really was worded like that, not give you a refund for faulty product, but give you a free inspection... I went else where, to a company who actual does take care in sending customers to the dmv prepared. Absolutely awful service. Had my check engine light come on the day after getting my oil change here, plus my pressure gauge went flat. They deemed it a "coincidence" and wouldn't take responsibility. Not to mention I had to ask for a new sticker to be printed because the first one was horribly miscalculated. I really wanted to like this place and there are definitely some great things about it. I drove quite a ways to get my oil changed but I will not be returning and here's why: 1. They are expensive! My car needs synthetic oil which I know is more expensive. But at the dealership it costs around $80. Here it was $113! Apparently they gave me a $10 "coupon" so it was $103 plus tax. But that's still more than I expected to pay. 2. They didn't fill the air in my tires after I asked (and was told they would). I can fill the air but it's annoying they said they would then didn't. They were super friendly and quick though. My daughter was with me and they were so kind to her. I also got there just before 8am on a Saturday and they had me in and out within 15 minutes. Really nice people - I just wish it was cheaper and I'd be back! read more
