Went in for a oil change and brake pads. Specifically told them 3 times that my car required a special plug for oil change and was assured they would take care of it and charged extra for it. NOT done. Leaks a lot of oil now. Brakes squeaky as well., new battery issue at start up too now. Won't answer my calls. Stay away . read more

I came in for an emissions inspection 2 weeks ago and didn't pass my first attempt. The line the first time around was surprisingly long, and it can be hard to sense where they are in the vehicle queue. I paid $11.50 for the inspection. Russell let me come back within the time frame and try again with no charge, which I did this past Wednesday. The whole process was quick. read more

I'm a frequent customer and I've had plenty of pleasant experiences. The service is great but I do have a concern about an employee I've had not such good experiences with. Every time my husband or I come in he's always asking for tips and I've witnessed him ask other customers as well. It's a very uncomfortable situation and I find it to be very inappropriate. I hope this issue is resolved soon. read more

I've been using this excellent place for at least 20 years for oil changes and inspections. I've always had great service by people who know what they're doing and are pleasant to deal with. Highly recommend. read more

I got an oil change and state inspection. The service was excellent. Quick in and out. They went the extra mile to clean my gas cap because it wasn't passing. I'll definitely be using them from now on. Highly recommend. read more

Paid $80 for a conventional oil change. Ridiculous. There was what seemed to be a homeless man coming into shop from behind the shop (through woods) to get his cig lit from one of the guys working.. I just moved to the area from east austin - I will not be returning. Surely this place is on their last leg read more

Once again, I got an oil change for my Toyota Corolla at Coleman Lube Express. Yes, the traffic on the way there is horrible, but it's worth it. They're even faster and friendlier these days--I got in and out in about 20 minutes. Don't let the highway construction in Oak Hill scare you off, it's still worth the trip for the oil changes and inspections! read more

PROS: Location! Pretty quick. They had a few other clients there, but weren't too busy to change my oil, which they did in about 20-25mins. Not too pushy with upselling. They were upfront about what they'd do, and their pricing (or justification for pricing), and seemed fine if I decided to drive away without using their service. CONS: The pricing seemed higher than other places I've been to. I don't mind paying a little more for the convenient location. But they said there would be an extra fee to cover the cost of a specialized tool that they have that they'd need to use on my car. Hmmm. This simple hole-in-the-wall place is in a great location for a fast and friendly oil change. But be prepared to pay extra. read more

The service guy was smoking in my car. It smells like crap. How is it legal to smoke in a oil changing station. Really pissed and will not be coming back. read more

I've driven by this place on 290 in Oak Hill for years. Decided to try it last week when Jiffy Lube was out of oil filters. It is an old-style oil change joint where the customer drives the car into and out of the bay. (Most auto shops these days do not allow customers in the service area.) There is a very small waiting room, but I recommend waiting out back under what may be the largest live oak tree in South Austin (weather permitting, of course). They were finished with the oil change in 15 minutes. But the best part was the price, a little over $60. Overall: efficient and inexpensive. read more

The manager was incredibly rude, disrespectful & didn't do the work they said they would do. I've been going here for years & have never received this type of treatment before. He also would not tell me his name.Firestone which is right around the corner is a way better option & they're super nice & friendly. read more

Brought my truck for an oil change and inspection. They are priced significantly higher than other places for the oil change, but I was in a rush and they are at a convenient location. Immediately upon having my truck in the bay, they tried to upsell me to repair 2 completely invisible "dings" in the windshield. Said my insurance would cover it but I'm not inclined to make an insurance claim for nothing. Cash price to repair said nonexistent hits was $40. I declined. Then while I was waiting for it to be completed, I was told my windshield wipers were "shredded" and my truck would not pass inspection unless I replaced wipers. $20. I was on an necessary phone call while this happened and I absentmindedly agreed. I should have asked to be shown the wipers as I'm pretty sure they were fine. All in, I paid about $40 more than I should have for an oil change and an inspection. Buyer beware. I now know what the word "lube" in their name is for. read more

I just had my oil "changed ". When I got home(5 minutes away) I pulled the dipstick and checked the "new" oil filter. The oil on the dipstick was dirty and black, not amber colored fresh motor oil. This means they DIDN't change the oil or they DIDN't change the filter. Or both. My advice is STAY AWAY.... read more

Everything about the place is just a little questionable. First time they were going to put different oil than my WV said in the manual and when I checked they finally said they didn't have "that one." Then my other car, they are about $30 more expensive on my 4Runner for mobile 1. And the guy changing the oil kept cussing and couldn't find the right wrenches the whole time. I'm concerned. read more

My wife just went in for an oil change at Coleman Express Lube. $110 for synthetic. Got exact same service at Lambs last time for less than $60. They asked my wife why we use Lambs because they rip you off. Pot kettle? I went back and confronted them and they just stared at me and said "well. we are 2 different companies". Really? That's all you got? They were busted and knew it. No apology or offer of a credit either. Never again!! read more

Be very careful with these thieves. I had literally just cleaned my windshield to drive it up there for an inspection like 20 minutes before i showed up. The manager walks to the frt of the car then shows me the window has a chip. He carries around porcelain and then fucks up your window to up sell repairs. This place is the worst I have ever experienced all my over 50 years of driving. If there was a minus star ranking available they would get a -10. My wife and I were in West Austin visiting and our Toyota Sequoia needed an oil change. This place was across the street from where we were staying, and I found it easy to go there. Before I knew it, they had opened the differential plug and drained the oil, plus they were to replace the engine air and air condition filters- they said that at 46k miles that it " was recommended ". I can only assume that they changed the engine oil and filter. They charged me over $200!! On our way home the next day, the vehicle made a "howling" sound- we live in South Texas. My wife drove it for a week, and complained of the noise. Finally, I checked under the hood and discovered that they removed and had not replaced the engine air filter, and had left the compartment unlatched. I had to buy one from Auto Zone- $10 cheaper than what they charge me- and thought the noise problem had been solved. To our dismay it continued. Finally, I took it to a trusted auto repair shop, who immediately upon hearing the "howling " sound, especially when decelerating, gave me the bad news that it had to be the differential. They opened it up and discovered that the differential oil had not been replaced, and the plug showed gummy oil residue with METAL BITS! Obviously from the gears. We have detailed pics. I have called Coleman's shop several times, spoken with a worker on the first call who said he'd have the manager call me back, but have not been contacted even after repeated calls and leaving voice messages. We are so glad nothing major occur on the road, but the "howling" sound still exists, albeit a bit diminished. We worry about what could happen down the road! If you treasure your life and that if your family, don't take your car there!! read more
