It's that time again where I needed to have my car inspected to renew my registration. Firestone was open and said it'd be about 30 minutes. They're open until 7 where other shops nearby who do inspections were already closed I will Monday. So it was a no brainer to come here. The shop music is so loud with a lot of people working. I'm talking club loud, where the walls are vibrating. Whatever to keep them motivated I guess. The smell of rubber was overwhelming for my nose that I was sneezing from how strong the smell was. Fortunately the wait was only 30 minutes so I wasn't in there long. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and there's options to park. I don't know what was inspected but my seat settings were changed and the headlight's settings were off. Other than that, I was happy to get my car inspected in a timely manner and they were close by. read more

At 10 minutes to 5 which is closing on a Sunday we walked in. We had an irreparable tire and we were 12 hours from home. Kaleb immediately checked to see what they had. He asked if some of the guys could help. Two of them had four new tires on (all wheel drive) and balanced in about 20 minutes. It was an amazing experience. They saved us from a horrible experience. On top of that the tires we purchased came with a great warranty and other benefits. read more

I took my car to Firestone for a routine oil change, and when I left, white smoke was blowing out of my exhaust. I immediately called them, and they told me it was probably because they overfilled it and that the engine was just "burning off excess oil." The smoke never stopped. Soon after, my engine pressure light came on, followed by the check engine light and a loud noise coming from my engine. When my husband checked the oil at home, there was almost no oil in the car at all. We took it back to Firestone, and during that time they never once called me with an update. I had to chase them down, only to be told that there were "no lights on" in my car and that there was, in fact, oil in it. Then, they quoted me over $6,000 to fix a timing chain issue--which their own mistake caused by running my car with no oil. I am now in the middle of a claim with them and hiring an attorney to take further action. Throughout this process, Manuel and Clay (in the shop) and Jillian (in the claims department) have been rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. This experience has been beyond frustrating, and I would never recommend this location to anyone. This was at the dripping springs location but beware. read more

I bought a truck from Carvana with part of the engine missing. The check engine light came on within a couple days after purchase and took it to their in-network repair shop in Texas which is Firestone. They did a small repair and turned off the check engine light. That was covered in the limited warranty from Carvana. I moved to North Carolina and the check engine light came on again after a month. Thank you to the Firestone in Asheville for figuring out the real problem and letting me know the Firestone in Texas misdiagnosed the real problem. I am now outside the warranty for this repair. I was informed it will be reviewed with the manager the next day to get the repair covered by the other Firestone store due to the misdiagnoses. The manager here in Asheville reached out after a couple days and explained that they won't cover it or help facilitate the communication between stores. He said Firestone's believes the customer should have to do the work in these situations. That's where I am. I'm hoping there is a helpful resolution so I can update my review. read more

Takes a lot for me to care enough to leave a review. In fact this is my first. I have been here 3 times for alignment. 1st time was quoted all these extras after picking up my car. One of which being an air filter (over $100 quote with labor) so I went across the street and just bought an air filter for $20 just to see that the "old one" was brand new. Kinda scammy. 2nd time was told my alignment would be done in 1 hour as I was on a very strict time crunch. Ended up having to Uber home get another vehicle and had to pick the car up after hours as it took the "new guy" 5 hours to complete the alignment. 3rd time I made appt for 12pm. Get there on time they eventually tell me there are 2 cars ahead and there will be a 2.5 - 3 hours wait to get my vehicle on the rack. I asked them what the point of the appointment was, they end up making very uneducated excuses. Literally like arguing with a rock with an ego. Just say you forgot to make the appointment. Anyways alignments we're always a little off but what can you expect, you don't go to great clips to get a nice fade. read more

Came here for a tire repair and they were so efficient!!! I had initially gone to the firestone in north Austin a few months back and they repaired my tire but the leak came back. I called this location after trying to go to multiple other locations and Katie was able to squeeze me in right before closing!! She was so helpful in getting me in in time and even filed my bill as a warranty since I had just gotten my tire repaired a few months ago!! Her customer service was excellent and she really deserves a raise!!!! I appreciated it so much since she really took into consideration that this was the only time I would be able to come in since I work 7am-7pm which is essentially their store hours. The technician was very efficient as well, my car was finished in around 30min!!! read more

I brought my car in that was struggling to start and asked them to check the starter. They tell me it's the alternator instead, so I get that replaced. However, that was NOT the issue as the car continued to have problems starting. Now I have to have the starter replaced because that was the oissue. Had an issue with an oil change that developed days after the service. On a Sunday, tech named Frank jumped in to fix the problem quickly and professionally. Unfortunately there was some damage (nothing major) but store manager, Ray Martinez, made it right...painlessly! No doubt I'll continue to be a customer. read more

Starting to lose confidence in this location. Took my vehicle in for my 80,000 mile service and needed new brake pads and rotors on both the front and rear. Their work order stated this. Was called same day to come and pick it up - back brakes and rotors were not done, only the front (by the way, they replaced the pads less than a year ago and I drive very little because I work from home so this is concerning). So, had to call my wife and have her turn back around and pick me up, left the vehicle overnight, had to go back and pick it up the next day. Now, get the vehicle home for a few days and its leaking oil all over the pavement. They performed an oil change but clearly did not thread the oil drain plug back on properly. Now going back to have them address this issue and top off my oil. When I called last night to tell them of the problem they said "Yeah, no problem, bring it back in and we'll take care of it". No consideration for my time and no offer to comp the oil change. Feel they're starting to get in a hurry and make it all about the invoice. I've been taking a total of 3 vehicles here but might be time to look elsewhere. read more

Pointless to make an appointment . They make a bunch of appointments for the same time and make everyone wait at least an hour even if you arrive when they open. Also told me I needed to replace my cabin filter but I knew I had just replaced it one month prior so they were just trying to take advantage of a woman. read more

Went in at 9 am for a scheduled service. Just oil change and tire rotation. At 11:00 I went and asked what was up...they said I had a flat that needed repair. Only because I went up. I watched the crap show as their poor guy up front (who was nice) had to go back out and yell at the guys in the service bay about doing an oil change and then throwing the car to the side and skip the tire repair. Now I'm going to be late for a business lunch and miss out on an opportunity all because of poor communication from Firestone. Not the first time I've had to wait but 2.5 hours for a scheduled oil change is garbage. Won't be going back to any Firestone moving forward. read more

I recently visited Firestone Complete Auto Care for a routine check-up, but this was the worst experience I've ever had at an auto shop. I set up an appointment at noon on a Sunday. They kept my car until 5 pm with no contact, so I called them. They said that they couldn't open the hood, and would have a different technician take a look tomorrow after making some excuse about how busy they were. I picked up my car, then came again the next morning at 7 am, right as they opened. The technician who took my vehicle tried to open the hood, but wasn't able, then said they would take a look. At 1 pm I called again because there had been no contact. They said a technician was looking at the car now and would call back soon. After 4 more hours of no contact, I called again at 5 pm. They told me the same thing, they couldn't open the hood. I thought this was odd because I had opened the hood the day before. I told them to take my car down and went to get it immediately. I don't know what they were doing, but after 16 hours the best they could do was say they "tried to open the hood." It would have been fine if they did nothing to the car, but they gave my car back in worse condition. My car is covered in dirt and greasy handprints, and they damaged my hood latch to the point where I can't open it either. What should have been a $10 checkup is going to cost me hundreds. The worst part of it all is they didn't once have the decency to call me after 2 whole days! The best they could do is look down and say "Sorry." Do not bring your car here! I recommend you do not give them your time or money. read more

On my way into town earlier (thankfully after the rain); I had a blowout on Jenny's Toyota. After putting on the spare and sending little Rooster home with my mom; Jenny and I strolled in for a new tire under their roadside warranty. When my wife was in New Orleans, she purchased the normally over hyped "Roadside Hazard Warranty". I will confess it has served her well. Two years ago when she hit a curb: Fixed for a $25 flat charge which included the warranty for the new tire. Today, we were missing some the original paperwork but had some other paperwork from the last time. Because that original store in New Orleans is gone; there are no records. The assistant manager gave us no hassles and warrantied the tire per the paperwork we had. Not bad for a miserable afternoon changing a tire in the mud! We drove home happy! read more

This is where I go every time I need work on either of my cars. I've always felt like they are honest, so I keep going back. I've come in and had them tell me there were no real problems, they just tightened screw or something and I was good to go. I've had them estimate work needed, then come out and say they were wrong and give me a much lower estimate for the problem they found. I've had too much trouble with shady car places; my first couple of experiences here left me feeling really good about their honesty, so I'm hooked. Maybe wait times are long, but I've never minded. I'm a sahm, and live about a mile away, so I can easily drop off or wait as needed. read more

My son drove up to Oklahoma and back. He finally checked their work. They left bolts not tightened, he could have had a violent accident. Got a flat tire and happened to be right around the corner. Assumed it could be plugged, so got quoted for that and dropped it off. Got a call a little later saying it couldn't plugged and I would need to buy a new one. No problem, that happens. Got two at a reasonable price and was ready to rock. When I left, I noticed that the tire light was on. Pulled back in to let them know. The response was "it'll turn off eventually." The next day, I noticed I was charged for both new tires AND the patch job. Ran in super fast and got quick refund for the overcharge as well as an apology. Didn't have time to address the light in that moment, so I came back the next day. They told me all my sensors were out. They worked fine before I brought it in. They basically shruged it off and said "oh well" This place is a giant waste of time. read more

I am new to the area and had to get new tires prior to starting a new job. On a Sunday, most places near me are closed so I turned to Firestone for the convenience of booking an appointment online and making sure I could get in quickly. Selected my appointment time and the tires I would be purchasing. Showed up at my scheduled time thinking 2 new tires and an oil change should only take about an hour (I've NEVER waited more than that until today!) When I checked in, they told me it was going to be 2 hours because they are behind. I was shocked but at least they told me at time of check in so I wondered the shopping center and came back close to 2 hours hoping they would be done slightly early. Nope! That was not the case. They hadn't even prepped the tires for my car yet and I had to wait another 45 minutes until my car was done! They tried to "suggest" an alignment but I did NOT want to wait any longer than I already had. I made an appointment on purpose. I have things to do and don't have all day to wait for tires and an oil change. The look on my face must have said what I was thinking because they offered me a free oil change for having to wait. **Note: Had I only been there for an hour, I would have gladly paid for the alignment as well and continued to wait. After how long I had to wait, spending more money and more time there was the last thing I wanted to do!** What is the point of offering the convenient service of appointments when you still have to wait almost 3 hours as if you were a walk in? I should have just been more patient and waited until Monday morning to call tire shops closer to me to see if they could get me in this week. Went in for an inspection so I could get my registration. Not only did they charge me $18 when it should be $7 (for a 2021 model) but they never gave me the PASS inspection receipt (just a credit card receipt). So when I went to the tax office to get my out of state registration completed I didn't have what I needed. Pathetic how they treat people. read more

I asked for my car to be inspected and I needed a tire replaced or repaired that had a nail in it. They called me a few hours later to say the car wouldnt pass the inspection without a new tire (because it was non repareable due to the damage on the sidewall) and they quoted the ONE tire at $190! Are you putting a race car tire on my car or what? The most expensive tire I could find at another retailer was $112 for a brand name all season tire. Average price of tires for my vehicle cost probably about $80-$90. They also suggested I needed new windshield wipers, new lights on my license plate, and a new battery and a second tire on the other front. I declined all services except the lights and inspection. My partner went to pay and pick up the car and they said it would be $70 when they quoted me $20 for the lights and the cost of the inspection (around 15). He asked what the cost breakdown was and they said it was for the tire repair. He said "but yall didnt repair the tire" they said "well we tried" but that makes zero sense because the side wall was damaged so there was no reason to even attempt a repair. Went to Firestone a while back for a walk in state inspection and had really good service, so decided to go back for a tire rotation and to get a headlight bulb replaced. I made an appointment a day prior to get both done. I was waiting for two hours before the guy told me that they were having the bulb delivered and it was on the way because they did not have anymore in inventory and that they could not do a rotation because my tires were too worn. I waited another hour and a half before walking out because the bulb still had not been delivered to the store. The store was closing early for a meeting in 30 minutes so it was obvious it wasn't going to get done. The guy at the front apologized and said that they don't control when stuff gets delivered. Y'all need to keep better inventory or not accept appointments if you can't do the job. CUSTOMERS If you come here for bulb replacement just bring your own and have them charge you $80 in labor or learn to do it yourself like i'm about to do! but thank you firestone for letting me know that i need new tires. UPDATE.. went to Discount Tire today and asked them if they could see if my tires were really so bad that a rotation wasn't possible like i was told at Firestone. Even told them that if they were bad, I would get tires from the store that day. (they're $100 cheaper at least than Firestone) They took a look and said my tires still have some use left in them. For those wondering, Firestone said they were at 2/32, unable to pass inspection, when Discount Tire measured 4-5/32. I pretty much told Discount Tire to take my $900 and they told me it wasn't necessary right now. Not sure if Firestone thought I was naive being a young woman asking for a bulb replacement or if the machine they use to measure tire tread was messed up or what. And for the new bulb, I youtubed it and literally took 2 minutes changing it out myself. No need to charge $80 for labor. So glad I got my keys and walked out. read more

I live close by and thought it would save time to go here for a simple inspection for my car for registration renewal. I arrived very confident that I would pass but an hour later my car was overheated engine light on and fluid pouring out my car......I have never seen in the two years driving my car an engine light on nor did I arrive with any lights on. I actually just had a break job done a week ago and nothing was wrong till upselling crooked shady tree mechanics got there hands on my reliable car I guess single mothers aren't safe at Firestone they saw me coming but guess what you won't be making the diagnosis/cooling system repair on the engine light you turned on. Will never go here again! Had a metal screw in my tire which caused a leak. Was told it would be $30 to repair. Firestone then insisted it could not be repaired and I needed a new tire. Then, encouraged replacing all 4 tires (because a new car that only has 15K miles of course needs 4 new tires). Took the car to Costco. They REPAIRED the tire for $10. No questions asked; didn't try to sell me new tires -- fast and efficient. read more

They do "ok" work but the place is run by robots who have no concept of customer service. I tried for several weeks to get an inspection on Saturday (only available day due to schedule) but every time I was turned away saying they had too many in front of me. After being turned away for the third weekend in a row, I was SUPER annoyed but, other than being visibly upset, kept my cool and just wanted to get the work done. They offered me no alternative solutions (suggest a better time to come by, suggest a weekday, free scented tree...) and, instead, insinuated that it was my fault due to poor planning. Now - I get it. You can't set an appointment for a state inspection due to the law but they could have tried something to balance out the inconvenience of having to come back a fourth time (discount on next service, car wash, etc.) I even called the manager and that guy was a hoot (not really). Again - very robotic and felt that 'sticking to his guns' about his policies was a better option than trying to practice good (legal) customer service. Firestone will probably still get plenty of walk up business due to name recognition but, if you are reading this, consider one of the local, independent, shops. I've had great success at several around the area. read more

I keep going here because it's close to the house. However, I think I have finally learned my lesson. Was told 30-40 minutes wait to get an oil change. The wait became almost two hours to get the vehicle in even though I had arrive before anyone in the waiting area. I was the first of the "group" to arrive and the last to leave. In addition, when I arrive, I stood near the registers for nearly ten minute waiting for the lady who was working to finish chatting in the bays with the mechanics. When Paul is on shift or presence, the service is totally different so it's hit or miss based on who is out front. Received a comp for my wait, but that wasn't the point as I explained. It's all about the service and this store has in my opinion, one star which is Paul and a lot of no so great folks which prevents this establishment from soaring to five stars. read more
