Appalling abuse of a female driver! The indicator on my girlfriend's Audi A4 was showing a low tire pressure on the driver's side rear tire. She stopped at this station to ask them to check her tires. She said a few attendants came out to her car. They added some air and then asked if she needed gas. She mentioned that the oil indicator showed adding a quart. They opened the hood (off course Audis do not have dipsticks) so they could not check it. They told her she shouldn't add any oil. The men charged her $79.11 for gas. 12.69 gallons at $6.295 a gallon. Outrageous upcharge! This was over $2.00 more per gallon than any other Shell station in Austin. I checked the tires when she got home and they didn't even fill them to the recommended tire pressures. On top of that the did not replace a custom tire valve tip on her car. We will have to purchase a new set. read more

I was visiting Austin for work and had a rental car, when all of a sudden I start losing air rapidly in one of my tires. At least, I pulled over at a local convenience store, then found this spot. I was thankful to find a full-service gas station and was relieved when the workers here were kind to me and addressed my problem for a very reasonable price. For $20, they filled up my tire and patched the hole. They also gave me some recommendations in how far I should drive before just taking the car back to the rental place. I stopped at this Shell gas station on the way to a drop off for a moving job. I was in a crunch for time already and if it wasn't enough I locked my keys inside the car along with my phone. My friend called a locksmith and I tried yelling to Siri inside my car to get ahold of the person we were delivering the furniture to. After a few minutes I began to head inside the building and Randy, a Shell team member, stopped me and asked me if everything was okay. I told him the situation and he told me that he didn't think he could help, but would try to find something. A couple minutes after returning to my car another gentleman approached with a device for opening my car and got to work. Within 5 minutes I had my door unlocked and car full of gas. I then went to go find Randy to ask about cost for this kind of thing and he said not to worry about paying anything, but to visit again in the future when I needed something. What could have been a disaster ended up being a slight delay due to the sheer kindness of Randy and the other fella who helped me out. These guys were quick and had excellent customer service that isn't so common. Didn't have a tradition experience here, but I did have a stroke of luck due to these awesome people! read more

So one blazing hot day this summer, my husband was out of town, I had just dropped one of my kids off at their youth group (leaving the youngest home alone briefly) and as I'm headed home, my car starts to make this awful metal scraping metal noise. I'm in the middle of an incline, in the middle of a parking lot and I seriously thought my engine had just dropped out of my hood. The car definitely won't go up that hill and even coasting backwards into a parking spot makes it sound like I'm doing some serious damange, so I park it and have no clue whatsoever what to do. I've never handled the maintenance on the cars, husband is unreachable and its like 5:30pm. So I recall that there is a gas station on Bee Caves that has a shop attached and it always looks rather busy. I pull out my trusty iphone and Mapquest it and low and behold, someone answers the phone. Hallelujah. I explain the situation and am told that they have just cleared out their cash drawer (I later learn that the garage actually closes at 4pm, but they are usually there until 8pm) and so they will need me to call their tow service directly and that I will need to pay them separately. No big deal, I can handle that. Tow truck comes and it will be the next day before I can find anything out. I'm amazed at how well I handled it all and end up making it home rather quickly. (Wow, I AM a big girl.) The next morning they call me first thing (like 8am) to tell me they think it's probably the transmission (though they haven't hooked it up for diagnostics yet) and if so, it will cost me a minimum of thousands....as in, several. What?! Though it DOES have 100k+ miles on it already, this car is only a few yeas old and isn't even paid for yet! How is that even possible?! Apparently, its luck of the draw. (Oh, there are those girly tears.) Meanwhile, the hubby had driven all night to get back home and "handle" things for me. (Isn't he sweet?) He hightails it over to talk to "Dale" and long story short, its not the transmission (phew, totally dodged a bullet) its some kind of manly, mechanical stuff I don't understand (or even want to) and they have us fixed up later that same afternoon for substantially less than we originally thought. Again, hallelujah. The guys here (Dale and crew) are so very nice and our car has been running like a new ride ever since. I would seriously not hesitate to call them again and appreciate how patient they were when dealing with a clueless woman. We had put a call into a dealership to make sure it wasn't under warranty or related to a recall...which was a NO in both cases. All in all, I think the pricing was pretty standard and less than the dealership. (Oh, and by the way....I'm guessing I totally lucked out on the tow. When the driver got there he seemed surprised that I was supposed to be paying him directly. He didn't have a way to take my credit card, so he just took down the number. I was cringing at what this was possibly going to cost me. Again, totally lucked out....It was ridiculously cheap...like I don't know how they paid for gas and time with what they charged me. And it was one of those big flat-bed dudes. I can only assume that I lucked out and got the same rate they usually charge the garage. SCORE!) read more

Where I appreciate this Shell station providing full service option, their daily regular gas price is roughly 47 cents higher than other Shell stations within a 2 mile radius. Nice people who work their, feel as if inflating prices due to area it is located. read more

I love this gas station. I always get full service because I don't want to be bothered. Always check my oil and in 10 years have found it low only once. Let me say it again -only once. Oh but did find a tool that was left under the hood by Arbor Car Wash when I got my oil changed the previous week. Told them to keep it! True story. Stopped in looking for an air pump, and the guys working offered to fill up the tires for me. I've been having consistent issues with the air pressure in one of my tires, and sure enough, one of the guys asked if I was having problems with that specific tire. He checked for a hole in the tire, got his tools, and lo and behold, he yanked a 3 inch screw out of my tire. They got it patched up immediately, super cheaply, and I was/am extremely grateful! No further problems to report with that tire... though I'm sure new tires are in my future anyhow (boo). read more

It was a Saturday afternoon and I was trying to find someone to repair a tire. I went to three different tire repair businesses off of Yelp recommendations before I got to this Shell station. I had a piece of a screw in the middle of the tire tread and just needs a plug or a patch. The three tire sales and repair businesses all said it wasn't repairable. One of the technicians came to that conclusion before he even kneeled down to inspect the tire. The two guys at this Shell station didn't even hesitate, they just went to work finding the chunk of screw in the tire, removing it and repairing the tire. Bring these guys some business. I don't want to give this place ANY stars. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! I work in Westlake and needed to have my tires checked for air as I noticed they were low. The first guy was very nice and started checking my tires, then he passed the job off to a young hispanic guy. He went around checking my tires and I was standing outside my car, following him around the car because we were chatting and he seemed friendly. When he was almost finished I got back in my car and he came around the back of my car and squatted down by my driver side rear tire and I watched in my side mirror as he pushed a nail in my tire. He then came and told me that he just "saw a nail in my tire" and that it would need to be fixed. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!! Of course, this place is not going to touch my car again. So now I need to find another full service station to repair the tire he ruined! God only knows where another full service station is, but this shop isn't getting my business. I guess he thought I was a stupid woman and wouldn't know the difference!!! lazy? thieves ? - I will NEVER be back, i stopped at this location last friday to get my inspection. after " boss man" leaves - a service guy comes in and tells me he cant pass my inspection i needed a " power steering hose" and my power steering is really low. the part would be about 300 and 200 for labor so about 500.00 ok - here is the problem - 1. My CAR NEVER WENT INTO THe BAY. 2. MY HOOD WAS NEVER OPENED. 3. YOU NEVER CHARGED ME, ANYWHERE ELSE YOU HAVE TO PAY IF IT PASSES OR NOT. 4. We love Rollingwood Shell! The people are friendly and they always go out their way to help you as quickly as possible. We take our cars there for everything from flat tires (which they fix in about 5 minutes, while I sit in the car--usually with kids) to more serious issues. Like any shop, they sometimes have to order parts, but they get them quickly and usually have bigger repairs done in 24 hours. This is never the case at the dealership. Anybody who complains about the service here is probably not happy anywhere! This is an "old fashioned" neighborhood gas station where you know the mechanics, they are honest and you are treated with respect. read more

I had been having trouble keeping air in my tires for a few weeks and my husband would go and fill them up and within a few days, they would be low again. I stopped at the Shell station in Bee Caves to fill up with gas and asked how long it would take to fix a tire. Juan helped me that day and he said that it depends on the problem. I had two little children with me and I knew I couldn't keep them still for very long so I thought I would come back at a later time. Juan encouraged me to just pull the car forward and he would take a look at the low tire. I did and he immediately found two nails in my tire. He then simply plugged them and $15 dollars and 5 minutes worth of work and I was on my way. Haven't had a problem since! I was so appreciative of how quick and inexpensive it was.
