Worst experience ever! I went in for an alignment, and the technician said they couldn't do it unless the struts were changed. I agreed to get that done elsewhere and come back. He told me, "Yes, you can come back, and I'll take care of it before doing the alignment." He charged me $75, which seemed reasonable. However, when I returned, he said I'd have to pay for a new alignment--even though he hadn't done the first one--and it would be more expensive because the $75 I paid "didn't work out." It's absurd. Avoid This Shop at All Costs! I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting here and I can honestly say it's one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. I decided to take advantage of the "free alignment check" advertised on the front of the building which drew me in. From the moment I walked in, I was clear when I asked to get my alignment checked. I know that it was getting late plus I was on my lunch break & even suggested to come in the next day if it couldn't be looked at that time. Boy was I in for a treat when the staff member said that it could be looked at right now. After about 10 minutes my car returned & I was about to leave, the staff member behind the desk ran up a total for the alignment which shocked me. I expressed to him that I was just getting an alignment check. He informed me that the staff must've did it. Being as I had such little time left on my lunch & didn't see the manager nor the guy that I spoke to when I first came in, I quickly paid to make it back to work on time. Decided that I'll deal with it later. I should've known better & realized that I was involved in a bait & switch company like this. The next day I went out of town in my other vehicle & didn't drive the car they touched until the day after next. Once I started it up I noticed my maintenance light had been reset as well as an oil change sticker like they performed an oil change on my vehicle to which I found out was incorrect. But nevertheless they reset it. I have a mechanic that I've been dealing with for a few years now & we were waiting for a specific part near the end of maintenance required 5% oil life left to basically perform a complete overhaul & tune on my vehicle. At that point I knew I had to get this rectified. I then called that day & the staff displayed no regards for their actions & instead of empathizing with my concern, manager immediately reacts defensively: "Well, you misunderstood the staff saying "we can do it now." There's nothing I can do about it since you paid & left." Even decided to hang up in my face when I was explaining the errors that was made. So I called back I then requested the corporate number to which I received. The corporate point of contact was rude and dismissive, trying to make me feel like a nuisance rather than a valued customer. Kept reiterating that I must've misunderstood the staff member. Although I came in to only get it checked for free, like they advertised. But, instead of taking responsibility or attempting to resolve the issue, they just shrugged it off and insisted I must have misunderstood their recommendations. It's mind-blowing how a place that relies on trust can operate with such a blatant disregard for integrity towards their customers which is utterly disgraceful, unethical & dishonest. Plus I'm still waiting on a call from a Mr Nicholson for a week now with no update. In summary, if you value your time, money, and the integrity of your vehicle, do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. I only asked for an oil change, I know they check vehicles for other things while getting the job done, but with my expired registration there are many other things I have to take care of in order to pass inspection first, so the damn "$25 air filter was the last of my worries, ONLY need the oil changed" is what I told them. I had called in advance and expressed I was coming during my lunch hour and asked if there was a line, no line, cool I drive across the street. They weren't welcoming once I arrive 2 minutes later, when I told them no to the air filter they looked at me dumb and "finished" the job, they did more than just finish the job cause this fluid line was not cut before service. I know for a fact because I checked the dip stick early that morning before getting to work and that wire was perfectly intact! Just be mindful rejecting them from doing additional service to your vehicle, but more so find a place that will have good value and customer service! read more

7/30/23 UPDATE: I decided to call Brake Check and speak to Russell about my previous unsatisfactory customer experience (detailed in the 6/20/23 review detailed below.) He was quite understanding and asked me to bring my RV in, which I did a couple of days later. Into the work bay my RV went where it was attended to by Russell himself, and the assistance of a zippy crew. They were done in no time. I thanked the genial manager for the excellent service and personal undertaking for "making things right." Upon hitting the road, the brakes were as responsive as ever! Highly recommended. 6/20/23. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a blanked-faced fellow who had not replied in kind to my cheery good morning. I was the first customer of the day. I told him that I had been treated very well by Russell when I had been to that Brake Check about 3 years ago (5 stars!), for the same reason I was there now: to have the brakes bled on my RV. I told him that the mechanical vacuum pump method used last time was the reason for my return, believing it was a superior method to bleed the brakes. "Well" he replied vaguely, "it was leaking yesterday..." Hmmm. Were they gonna do it the old fashioned way, where one person presses the brake and someone else opens and closes the valve? Something me and a buddy could do for free at home? He did not volunteer which method they would use. As I observed the crew mingle about my RV in a desultory fashion, I did not feel positive in the service I was receiving. No one was moving at anywhere to top, or even medium speed. When I had been there previously, the RV had been raised on the lifts, while the brake bleeding was performed underneath, the crew busily going at it. Instead, a hydraulic jack was moved about in slo-mo from here to there. Later, the same blank-faced fellow, who I suppose was the manager that day, asked me to come have a look under the hood, where he pointed vaguely to the master cylinder, and to a "leak". I couldn't see the leak, but to be fair, maybe there was one. I never once got a hint of basic customer service, or anyone going above and beyond, but only to a feeling I was "just another customer". I drove away feeling that I had just wasted $95, and wishing Russell, who I had made the appointment with the day before, had been there. If you want customer service, and an expectation that the staff can possibly go above and beyond, avoid this particular Brake Check -- if Russell is not there. I have never been to a business that has nothing but racist employees. I walked into this business to get my brakes done obviously and my first encounter was with this employee named Josh. I waited at the counter for about 5 - 6 min s while they watched me from the garages. When Josh finally walked in he simple walked up to the computer and looked at me No good morning how can I help you nothing! So I eventually had to say GOOD MORNING! Then he replies Good morning what do you need? So in that moment I knew this was not going to be a pleasant experience. I'm sitting in the waiting area two other employees come in one starts to mop the floor and says nothing then proceeds to come where I'm sitting with the mop and almost mopped across my foot as if I wasn't even sitting there. Sent my husband in to get my brake pads replaced and ended up with $600 worth of services including new rotors and lifetime warranties because the man at the front desk bullied him so bad. Then, after getting all of this done, my car started to rattle. When I took it back to have them fix it, they said the caliper clips had rusted off so they would need to be replaced at an additional cost of $300 each. It was only a cosmetic issue and by that point they had forever lost me as a customer so I decided to take it in somewhere else and get it replaced. When I took it to another place, they said Brake Check had put in the wrong rotors and my calipers were fine. I trusted Brake Check so little that I would rather pay an extra $400 and get their mess fixed somewhere else than ever step foot into another brake check. My ABS and anti-skid lights were on in my Jeep. I was told the bearings in my driver's side needed to be replaced. They replaced them and then told me the passenger side needed replacement when the lights didn't turn off. They replaced the passenger side bearings and told me both rear bearings needed to be replaced when the lights didn't turn off. At this point I went to another shop where they told me the bearings that were replaced in the front were bad and the sensors had been damaged. The other shop replaced the sensors, and I went back to Break Check to get the bearings replaced under 3 month warranty. At first I was told by Russell, the manager, that everything was fine and that the other shop didn't have the equipment to turn off the ABS and anti-skid lights. He reset the lights and took it for a test drive. He came back and the lights were back on. He then said the passenger bearings were bad and the drivers side had a little play, but didn't require attention. I told him that if it wasn't bad he didn't have to replace them, but if there were problems in the near future, I wanted them covered. He assured me he would warranty them. Three weeks later the car was making noise. Russell looked at it and told me the roter was the problem. I just had the breaks done and took it back to the shop where I had it done. The breaks were fine and the bearings were the problem. Russell wanted me to pay to have them replaced. read more

My headlight bulb went out right before a 10+ hr drive so I went to AutoZone to have it replaced. Autozone was unable to remove the headlight to replace the bulb due to a wire - and the next 4 shops I called or drove to either had a 2+ hour wait, no one on staff who could remove the headlight, or terrible reviews. They did reset the oil warning message, left the car clean and brought it right to the door. They offer a "pay for three, get the fourth free deal" ...Good. If you go online and search Brake Check lawsuits you will see how much they dont care about their customers. I took my car in for a tire rotation and oil change. Vic first failed to verify my make and yr of car and assumed it was my old Acura. As i waited outside and watched them work on my car, Vic lied and said they checked my oil filters which they never went into my engine to check the air filters but the Acura dealership had to replace them the next day because they were so dirty. As Vic is pleasurably smoking inside the shop while he is working on my car. I pay for my services and leave. I have my service dog with me and as soon as I drive off i notice something is very wrong with my car, just as i am about to get on the freeway I loose control of my car almost running into the cars next to me. As i make my way back to brake check my tire falls off and i am stuck at an intersection. Alone, hot, with my service dog i have to call 911 fearing i am going to get hit. I call brake check and Vic arrives. Vic casually remarks my car is fine, no damage as he is pulling and bending the back trunk cover to my spare tire. You just messed up my 50k $ car that i am still making payments on and you are saying its no big deal??? I called my husband because when James walks out to inspect my car he acted like I was blowing this way out of proportion. James bends back a few parts and hands the keys and says i am good to go?!?!?!? you failed to check my alignment, alignment was off except for the tire that fell off. They were unable to get a correct match on the nuts because they had the wrong year on my car, So all the parts and service they did they were going off my old car. I had to replace all the work parts they put on my car. I emailed the CEO 2x with no response. WOW!!! I went to Brake Check for front brake replacements and an oil change and ended up with $2018.00 worth of damages to my engine. in addition to that the techs at Brake Check completely FORGOT to tighten the bolts on my brakes.. 2 hrs after leaving Brake Check I started hearing noises that were not there prior to me taking it to Brake Check. So I took it to another mechanic (immediately) not thinking it was the my brakes at all but perhaps something else. My front brakes were hanging completely off on just one bolt.. That's right ! The front brakes Brake Check had just charged me over $730.00 for .. It gets better. Brake Check also changed my oil and they replaced the old oil filter and cap seal with an aftermarket (Made in China) oil filter and seal that were defective, they leaked and sprayed hot motor oil all over my engine sensors, drive belt. alternator, undercarriage of my engine and engine parts were all saturated with oil that both leaked.. All these parts needed repairing or replacement, Corporate is as equally inept as the mechanics.. I emailed corporate with POV videos, and receipts provided by a totally impartial mechanic showing their VP of Operations in Austin the damaged caused by their techs, and defective parts.. To no avail. lm taking a stand , against these inept people who overcharge for faulty cheap parts and bungling , unfit techs that cause severe costly damages to your daily transportation with total impunity and absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Corporate gives the illusion of concern.. It's just that an illusion, just a total horror show.. Unable to upload ALL the video or photos for you to make your own decision. I just had the best experience here! I work next door and desperately needed to get my oil changed. A couple of my coworkers said they'd had good experience with Brake Check, so I scheduled an appointment for my lunch break today. Seriously, these guys are the nicest car guys you'll ever meet. I missed my initial appointment time because it took longer to pick up my lunch than I planned and they were still able to fit me in and got my oil change done in under an hour. Not only that, but they gave me a discount on my tire alignment, totally unasked for, and fixed my broken splash shield without charging me for the extra labor. They also didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need, which I very much appreciated. The manager, Gerald, is a disrespectful turd to say the least. After they installed defective brakes, and lied about fixing it 6 TIMES, he claimed it was the drivers fault ! This was all inside 1.5 weeks. So, if you want to have defective brakes installed, and be told it's your fault, and they won't fix them, after paying way more than other shops ask..... Go here. Really though, DON'T EVER GO HERE. I will say, that a tech or two were trying to be of assistance, but with a turd running the show, there was nothing really getting done.
