Leaking something...

Frank and Josue abandoned the back AC deletion I hired them for. My van is inoperable when I handed them a fully and wonderfully running vehicle. This was NOT a repair, this was a "disconnect, plug it and refill" job that I could have done myself but outsourced to professionals since I don't have the right tools to deal with freon nor did I want to deal with properly disposing of either coolant & freon. Repairs started on Monday night but per Josue could not be completed due to the lack of necessary parts. Mind you; I provided vehicle specific disconnection kitS (yes, plural) and bought additional parts in case the job wasn't done "by the book". (I work on cars myself and know there are more than one way to complete a job) Was informed by Josue on Monday night he will buy the appropriate parts from a store "down south" and I will hear from Frank on Tuesday. Today is Thursday and I have not heard a word. Been waiting because I'm NOT chasing after anyone for anything, ESPECIALLY when I'm paying! My van is actively leaking fluids into the driveway, coolant tank is sitting on the passenger side floor and the dog house (interior engine cover) is in the garage. Not only can I NOT drive it due to the missing coolant. The fully functioning AC isn't working any longer because Freon was released, I'm sure straight into the atmosphere without being vacuumed out like it should have been. I've had issues with mechanics on my other cars but this tops them all. I don't get the high rating of this outfit. I KNOW, I cannot be the only one caught is a situation like this. Sadly, there is ZERO recourse for me as I would not allow either Josue nor Frank to come within 100 yards of the van now. My only option is to hire someone else to fix this fiasco and PRAY Frank will do the honorable thing and pay the bill. (Wonder what rebuttal Frank will come up with to try spining it into somehow being my fault)

I REGRET COMING HERE SO MUCH!…read more I brought my car into Mario's Inspection Station last summer because my AC was only working on the highest setting, was making a loud noise, and was leaking. I stopped at Mario's because I pass by it every day on my way home. I had already been dealing with this issue for some time and had previously taken my car to another mechanic up north. Since that shop was out of the way and Mario's had great reviews, I decided to give them a chance. I pulled in, and the owner came out, told me where to park, took my keys, and said one of his mechanics would take a look at it. I went inside and waited while they inspected the car. A little later, the owner came back into the lobby and told me they had added Freon and that there might be an issue with the control switch and condenser. He said they would need to order parts and continue looking into the problem. Then he handed me a bill for $360. I was completely shocked. Mind you, I had already had another mechanic add Freon to the system just a few months earlier. I was not expecting a bill anywhere near that amount. What upset me the most was that nobody consulted me before performing the work. I never gave consent for them to add Freon. Had they asked, I would have told them that Freon had already been added recently and that I wanted to understand the issue before spending hundreds of dollars. The owner told me the Freon charge was fixed and that the remaining $160 was for diagnosing the problem. He could tell I was visibly upset. He walked me out to my car and tried to reassure me that they were going to fix the issue and that the $160 diagnostic fee would go toward the repair. He told me he would order the parts and call me the very next day. Well, guess what? He never called. Not the next day. Not later that week. Not ever. I never reached back out because the entire experience made me feel so icky. I felt uncomfortable, frustrated, and honestly taken advantage of. So I drove around for the next year with my AC STILL broken. Fast forward to now. I finally decided to do my own research and figure the problem out myself. After watching a few videos and reading up on the issue, I discovered that the likely culprit was the blower motor and blower motor resistor. I ordered the parts on Amazon, spent less than $50, and fixed it myself in about 15 minutes. So after charging me $160 for a diagnosis (a wrong one at that), never following up, pumping freon that was unnecessary, and leaving me with the exact same problem I came in with, I ended up solving it myself for a fraction of the cost. Ladies, please do your research before handing over your keys and your wallet. My experience here was incredibly disappointing, and I would never return.

Their prices are either in line or slightly less than dealership prices, and they do stand behind their work. This is their only location that can handle luxury cars like my Mercedes. It was time to do the schedule B service on my C300. It is the 60,000 mile or 10 year service and it runs about $1500 on average. And that's not including the transmission service. It's also a 3 to 4 hour job, which is why it's best to have someone pick you up. You can sit in their small basic waiting room where you can find complementary water and coffee. There are some places within a few blocks of walking such as Taco Cabana or Mandolas where you could spend some more quality time waiting. They have a very skilled service tech who also works on BMWs as well. They also work on EV's although that work is limited. They had my schedule B service done in 3 1/2 hours and were able to save me a couple hundred dollars making it just $1300. I was also not charged a credit card fee. Will be returning for future maintenance. Informative photos included.

The technicians did thorough diagnostic work and the repairs, while expensive, were legitimate and necessary. I want to specifically thank Ike and Martin for how they treated me as a customer. Ike was friendly and went out of his way to help by giving me a ride home and later making sure I was able to get the loaner car when it had been made unavailable. Martin was also professional and supportive throughout the process. My main issue was with the service management, specifically Deon. The loaner car option was not brought up when it should have been, and after a frustrating phone call about the situation, Deon immediately called me back to ask if I wanted the loaner. From a customer service perspective, that follow-up was poorly timed and escalated the situation instead of de-escalating it. When a customer is already upset about communication and options not being presented earlier, calling back right away without acknowledging that tension makes things worse, not better. The shop clearly has capable technicians and helpful front-facing staff, but the way the situation was handled at the service management level added unnecessary stress to an already difficult and expensive repair. Volvo quoted me an arm and a leg and I left here paying $89 which included the same specially ordered part needed for my car at 10,000 miles. Steve also checked my tire pressures and breaks. Took less than 30 minutes and I was seen right away. 5 stars for professionalism 5 stars for communication 5 stars for time 10 stars for honesty I will come back to get my break pads replaced in 2-3 months. I searched for best value option of such work around Austin and DC Auto felt like a best choice based on the price, google and Yelp ratings and the time to fix the problem. When I brought my car Steve did some checks and said that actually everything works good and there is no need to replace the alternator for sure. And probably issue was with the battery which for some reason lost the charge. Also, he mentioned that the tools they use in AutoZone are sometimes not of the best quality. At the end, he didn't just do the service I asked him - instead he provided guidance free of charge. Will definitely recommend Steve for people for any repairs his shop can provide.
