Several friends highly recommended Luu Auto Repair, and after my own experiences, I understand why. He is straightforward, considerate, and honest about what truly needs to be done. On a previous visit, I asked whether my tires needed to be replaced, and he told me they did not. This time, I brought my car in because the A/C was not cooling properly. He recharged the system, added leak detection dye, and explained that I could return for a free leak check if the cooling weakened again. Although his schedule only allowed time for the A/C service that day, he still made an effort to address my additional questions. He also checked whether I was due for an oil change and told me it was not needed yet. In my experience, he never recommends unnecessary repairs or services. His honesty, practical approach, and efficient service have earned my trust. Highly recommended! read more

I went to Luu's Auto repair for a routine oil change and vehicle inspection and they did a thorough job and charged me less than what the dealer would have charged had I taken the vehicle like I have been to them. A few weeks after that during the rain, I ran over something and a screw from the back tire well came loose and I took it to Luu's again. The owner just screws it back on in two minutes and didn't charge me anything and told me don't worry about it. If that's not a five star experience I don't know what is. read more

Took my car there based on a co-worker referral and yelp reviews. Very pleasant experience. Very fair and honest pricing. Communication was A+++ Car was repaired and now runs smooth as butter. Will be back soon for AC repair. Thank you Mr. Danny! read more

I only spoke with them via phone. They have helped my daughter with her car on several occasions in Austin.

Danny is very helpful and is honest. It is refreshing to find a competent mechanic. All of our family use Luu's automotive for all our vehicle maintenance. read more

Came here to get some maintenance stuff done that was recommended at the dealership for ridiculous amount. Danny offered to do another inspection of the car in comparison with what the dealership said I needed. Apparently the only thing I really needed to get done was my front brake pads since that's at 20% while my back brake pads were still 50%. I also really wanted my thermostats exchange valve replaced cause it was leaking though not urgent. Danny was able to offer me a price for the replacement that's $400 less than what the dealership quoted. Overall, all the service they provided was 20-30% less than the dealership price. Danny also gave me some advice about replacing the engine air filters since I do all the air filters myself and that was really helpful. I'll definitely be back when my back brake pads need to be replaced. read more

I love Danny Luu's shop - I've been coming here for 15 years and it's truly special. They're going to get you the best price and complete the job excellently! I've had them fix everything from transmission, AC compressor, and a bunch of random things. It feels like home - it's a bit outdated and they don't utilize much technology. Very old school feel- it's a great place. read more

Luu's does good work, they are reliable, trustworthy, their prices are fair, and they provide excellent customer service

Danny assessed what was wrong with my car immediately. I left my car at Luu Automotive all day. When I picked up the car, I drove a rejuvenated car without the rattling noise and with a quick acceleration. I had gotten an estimate for 2,000 dollars plus and left paying far less. read more

Danny is absolutely amazing! I thought my car would be in the shop for a week and cost me $1000s of dollars so I've been putting it off. I finally took it here and my car was fixed in a day and cost $560. To my amazement. I am so appreciative of him. He was so nice and friendly to talk to. I trust him not to do anything shady and try to up-charge me and as a woman it's so refreshing. He's my official mechanic in Austin. Thank God I found him! read more

anny is a fantastic professional mechanic. He's honest, trustworthy and does excellent work. I drive all the way from Pflugerville for him to work on my Hondas because he's that good. He's done transmission, power steering work for us and it's been an amazing experience. His prices are fantastic! Thanks for everything Danny, I appreciate you sir! read more

He's the most honest mechanic I've ever met. He has never upsold me on anything. I trust his integrity and morals. Fixed a "1500 dollar issue" found by another chain auto shop for ~200. If you're tired of dealing with shady auto businesses, look no further - Luu is great! read more

The gentleman that runs the place (Don) is personable, accommodating and true to his word. He's also a responsive and clear communicator. I had an oil leak and a problem with the radiator. It wasn't a particularly straightforward fix and he had to tweak things a couple of times, but he got it done. I felt his prices were reasonable. I hope I don't need to fix my car again soon, but if I do I will be going to Luu's. read more

I have been taking my cars (a 2007 CR-V and a 2008 Odyssey) to him for years now. I have never had a bad repair, and honestly, his prices have been half of what I have been quoted by Dealerships. A dealership wanted to replace the entire AC system for $ 3,500. He found the leak in the AC radiator and it cost $350 (it has been working for three years now). The same holds true for other repairs. His shop is small, but it's much better than any other I have tried. read more

Their service is amazing. I took my car in to get repairs done to coolant and to replace coolant parts - Luu assessed parts needing replacement, quoted me around $600 for parts and labor and got my car back to me within a few hours on the same day!! His prices are more affordable than other places (I've tried going to another place for unrelated repairs and it was +$300 than what this place quotes for the same job and quality) - go to Luu Auto Repair FIRST. Your wallet will thank you. read more

Danny. Is. Awesome. Had clutch issues after just being replaced last yr by another mechanic. Trying to get your car diagnosed without it running really is a pain. Not only did Danny thoroughly diagnose the actual issue but he gave me a way lower price than expected. He even fixed a few things and didn't charge me for any labor-just the inexpensive parts. Family shop and you can tell he's passionate about what he does & doesn't want you to be deserted on the side of the road. Besides, he just seems like a really nice human:) read more

One morning our car would not start. We checked the battery, the fuel pump, the coils, the starter.... could not get it to turn over. So we had it towed to Luu's on Kramer. What incredible service! The mechanic was patient and detailed when explaining what he was doing. He ran a diagnostic, checked everything. Could not find the problem. His recommendation was to have the car rekeyed. Well lo and behold we took his suggestion and he was right! Finding a mechanic can cause a good deal of trepidation. I feel so lucky that we found Luu's. read more

Danny is consistently amazing! Great customer service and incredibly honest. He's always fair and transparent when discussing the issues with your car and the cost to fix. I have friends that drive over 20 mins to Danny instead of their local shop. Highly recommend for everything from an oil change to major repairs. read more

Returned here based on past experiences. Danny Luu took care of our car, was less expensive than other bids, and had our car ready to go that afternoon. Nothing but good to say - Danny and his team found a couple of other minor issues that he could fix in minutes, fair billing, and we were on our way. Definitely will return and recommend. read more

Finally. After calling THREE other body shops - two of whom are all over the radio and well-known names - and being treated like an imbecile, the folks over at Luu's actually understood that *I'm* the client and *I'm* the one in control of what I want and what repairs are ultimately going to be done to my car. They also understand that it's important to do WHAT you say you are going to do WHEN you say you are going to do it. Communication was great, overall service was excellent. They have earned my future business. read more

I have been going to Danny Luu's for over 6 years now. He and his great knowledgeable mechanics are the best and fastest at diagnosing any auto issue for no charge, if, they do not do the work! What other auto repair shop can say that? And if Danny does recommend doing whatever work is necessary to get back on the road safely, his final charges for parts and labor are the cheapest in town, no matter the type of mechanical issue Danny's crew repairs. The only downside is it can take a few days for Danny to work you in on his repair schedule because he is always booked solid. But that is because they take the necessary time to repair your car right the first time. I have never had to bring any one of my three cars back to Luu's Auto Repair for any same work they have fixed before in the past 6 years. You will be shocked when you get your car back! The low repair cost, coupled with the relief that your car runs better than before and to get you back on the road safely is so overwhelmingly satisfying that I always offer them a tip for doing such a great job. But Danny will never accept it for himself so I will sometimes give it to the mechanic that performed most of the repair/work. I cannot stand having auto repair problems as you all do. But I almost enjoy taking my cars to Danny just to have a chance to interact with him since he's such a nice, humble and good man to deal with. Good luck out there! read more

Went back for my surround parking sensors. Lexus quoted me $1200-1700 or something ridiculous, I can't remember exactly. This shop took care of it for $500. Parts came directly from Lexus. He simply replaced the parts that needed replacement and didn't upsell anything else. Please take a look at this shop before you get robbed elsewhere. My family will continue using them for various services. read more

SIMPLY PUT, Danny Luu is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! He is very honest. He would tell you what is urgent to be repaired, what you can wait on. He even tells you to pay less than (already cheapest) quotes. Has that happened anywhere else? Him and the team are always busy. Give him a call at least for a second opinion. We have been going to Danny for 8 years now. Always happy to see him. read more

Danny is very knowledgeable, honest and very pleasant. This is my go to place now for car repairs now.

After my last go to body shop apparently went downhill, and we had an accident, I had to scramble to find a new place. This one had good reviews, so I figured we'd give it a shot. I'm very glad we did. These guys do great work, and quick! They had the bumper cover ordered and painted and installed within the 4 days allotted by insurance even though they had no notice of my dropping it off (oops, don't do that, make an appointment!). They even worked with me on installing the aftermarket headlights that I wanted to put in instead of the stock ones. I know I was a difficult customer for him, and Danny was extremely busy, but he handled me like a true pro. I'm very grateful. Will definitely be back next time we need body work done! read more

Our family and friends have been going to Danny for everyting you can think of in the past ten years. Very humble and honest gentleman. Many times after he fixed the cars, he decided the cost were lower than what he quoted (what you were ready to pay). Who would do that nowadays????? He just fixed my break light and said I owed him nothing. I insisted; he said the job is too small and not to worry abt it. You would be glad you know him.!!! read more

I will not say how long it's been since I had my car checked for basic maintenance (aside from oil changes) and wanted to find a good, local mechanic. On the advice of a couple of neighbors, I went to Luu Auto. Danny was super helpful, dropping off my car was a breeze, he called me to let me know of all the things that needed to be done with price breakdowns, and work was quick and done within a day. Definitely will be back for all my auto needs. read more

Most trustworthy mechanic in Austin. I'll never go anywhere else. Been coming here for years! Don helped with my Mercedes, Toyota and now my Subaru. Always a fraction of the cost dealers charge. Love these guys. Hard workers and honest. read more

I had a badly damaged vehicle and was going to be paying out of pocket. I went to several other shops and was quoted around $4,000. I explained to each of them that I was less concerned with cosmetic problems and just wanted a vehicle that was safe to drive and would pass inspection. All of them refused to do partial repairs. Then I found Luu Auto Repair & Body Shop. Danny was willing to work with me on finding a way to make my car safe again and for less than half of what I was originally quoted. This is by far, my best experience with an auto shop yet. I would highly recommend Danny Luu to anybody! read more

I have been a regular customer of Luu's for the past two years as I was referred to this shop by a co-worker. I own a couple of BMW's, a 2002 3 series and a 2008 X3. The shop is owned by Danny and he is a very honest business man and his shop is small, but handles your problems in a very efficient manner. In fact, there has been an occasion when Danny even let me use his personal vehicle as a loaner and drive it home overnight. I was a total stranger to Danny, but he put his trust in me. I would highly recommend this shop for price, integrity and competence. Danny serves a great variety customers and does it in a very productive manner. read more

I highly recommend Luu's Auto Repair. I brought my car in because the driver's side window would not roll down. I had brought my car in before to get body work and other mechanical repairs done and was always impressed with the professional attention and super competitive prices. About the window: I tried the re-set options available online and none worked. Previously when this had happened, I had used these re-set options and was able to get the window to roll down. Nothing worked this time out, and so I thought that perhaps the motor finally gave out. Long story short: Danny and his crew took a look at it and resolved the issue. Window works great. And the price? $0.00. Danny said it was an easy fix and no charge necessary. How often are you gonna hear that? Thank you, Danny! You made my day! read more

Danny Luu is like having dad in town, except with a different accent, and a little further (just down the road), and not as free-of-charge. Still, finding someone so honest and apparently in no hurry to take all my monies is impossibly refreshing. Each time I have been here, I expect the worst. This is the time he's going to get me, I lament with a resigned sigh. This time it's going to be terminal, but he wont tell me that upfront, see, and instead he's going to milk me of every last dime before it's all over, see! I'll be eating heads of lettuce for weeks to pay for this. But my end-of-days vehicular prophecy never comes to fruition. Danny is always courteous, prompt, and up-front about every single part and minute of labor, kindly accommodating my unfortunate schedule while patiently updating me during each anxious phone call. Alls I need Danny to say is "Dej, a'stop being too hyper! Eat son rice! Take it eeeeesy! Stop eating son taco!" and I'll be that much closer to a local backup dad. read more
