I've never had a shop call me back after asking for a quote with a less expensive solution, but Ray did just that. They did good work on my 530i a couple years ago when it needed a clutch, so I called them. I had been trying to resolve a secondary air pump error on my BMW 325i for 3 weeks. After replacing most of the components, I still couldn't get it to turn on when it was supposed to. I took it to Ray (owner), and explained what all I've done, and asked about resolving some other sensor issues. he was understanding, checked my work and found a fuse that was not correctly positioned. He also advised me on the other sensor problems, other services needed, and was understanding when I turned them down since I do some of the work myself. He told me they ran diagnostics and it fired right up. What I liked was how helpful they were and were able to get me back on the road the same morning. I'm bringing my other BMW here from now on. I normally do most work on my car myself, but after moving into a condo this is no longer allowed. I wanted to find a shop that would work on my e46 M3 the way I do as a very picky person. Saw the great reviews here, so thought I would give it a shot and I was not disappointed. I had done the initial diagnostic for my car, so knew what was wrong and was able to order the part in advance. I called to see when I could get an appointment for the work, and to my pleasant surprise they had me bring it in the next morning. I dropped off the car and was told it would only take about 2 hours to complete, which was exactly what it would have been if I had done the work myself. Once the work was done I was very pleased with the work done. Not only did they perform the work I needed, but did a full diagnostic to be sure there were not any additional faults. Than cam the bill, and again I was pleasantly suppresses at just how reasonable it was. The same work at the dealer would have been 3x more. The team there is also very knowledgeable and I learned a few thing I didn't know about my car. This will be my go to place from now on read more

My BMW 3-series had a yellow brake warning light mysteriously show up on the dash. Concerned, I called the dealership who informed me that this probably meant my brakes & routers need to be replaced. I was given a price quote on the phone and immediately went into sticker shock. I checked Yelp and contacted several auto repair shops to get other quotes. I spoke with several unfriendly people who gruffly told me they wouldn't be able to give me a quote on brakes unless I brought the car down to them in person. While I understand why that would be important for an undiagnosed problem, in this case, it should've been really straightforward for them to give me a quote. Then I called Munich Auto and spoke to Ray. He was friendly and very helpful. His quote was 25-30% less than the dealership quote but I got a really good feeling about him. I scheduled an appointment for the next day (a Saturday, no less!) and showed up on time. Ray took a look at the vehicle, explained the mechanics and told me I still had 8,000 miles to go before I had to get the brakes replaced. His honesty really dispelled any fears I had about auto mechanics being shady and trying to charge you for things that don't need to be replaced. He gave me back my keys and sent me on my merry way. I have a 2007 BMW x3. I have been shopping around for a dedicated independent garage that specialized in BMW's and Ray and his team have been excellent to work with. Going forward I will bring my car nowhere else but to Munich Auto for all repairs and maintenance for my vehicle. I came to Munich Auto two month ago to to help me with replacing a leaking valve cover gasket about two months ago. Ray and his team took care of the problem right away and with excellent turn around time and service. I have a great experience there. The pricing was great and the service better. A few weeks later, I had a persistent issue with a leaking washer fluid reservoir and a light saying I had a light out. I stopped by un announced and Ray took care of both issues straight away, and wouldn't take payment. The failed light code persisted, and i dropped by unannounced again, and he took care of me again, straight away. He wouldn't take payment until I forced it on him. No I have no warning lights and the car is running perfect. I am not advocating just dropping buy on them but the service is excellent. They know their BMW's VERY WELL. Ray is a Master BMW mechanic with dozens of years of experience. He and his team are the only ones that are going to work on my car going forward. Great Service, Great Expertise and Great Prices! They only do Minis and BMWs, so if you don't have one, this is not the shop for you; however, if you do, they should be your go to mechanics. Went in to get an oil change, a fuse replaced on my cigarette lighter (relax, it's to charge my ipod), and have one of those warning lights looked at. I spoke to the owner on the phone, made a morning appointment with an estimated time of 45 minutes - he was there when I got there and the car was done when he said it would be. No up-sell, no random fake problems, no BS. The shop is small and the staff is limited. I see this as a bonus, because they do everything by appointment and stick to a schedule. Prices are as reasonable as they come (it's a BMW y'all, not a weed-eater). There are two men who work there, both worked at a BMW dealership at some point in their careers, and one is a certified master BMW mechanic. read more

One day my starting motor broke down and got it towed there when it was closed. They called me right away the next morning and got the job done in a day . We were visiting Austin on a Sunday to drop off my 2011 BMW to my son when a "Drivetrain Malfunction" light appeared and the car automatically reduced power to a maximum of 40 mph. I work behind the BMW service center in Austin. I took my car to have them quote everything that was wrong with it and they charged me $70 for it because I took that quote to Ray at Munich Auto, and he quoted me half the price and fixed everything within a day... BMW would've taken a week. I had an issue that BMW didn't catch almost a month later and took it back to Ray who recognized me (after one visit) and said since I just had work done, he would charge me for material only. Recently I visited because my phone fell into the vent under the seat and he looked at it on my lunch break (free of charge) to try and get it out, then told me that I would need to bring it in for 2-3 hours... I did and it took an hour and it was less than $100 to remove&replace the seat and floor. They make owning a BMW less of a money dump, and have great customer service. The water pump on my 335 died suddenly, disabling my 335 on the highway. It was 2 pm on a Friday before a tow truck arrived. I feared that I'd be car-less over the weekend. After all, who's going to replace a water pump before every shop closes at 5 or 6 pm? Well, I got my car to Munich Auto by 2:30 pm and it was repaired by 4:45 pm. And, the repair cost hundreds less than the stealership would've charged (and they wouldn't have even gotten to my car until Monday or Tuesday). I will DEFINITELY be back to Munich Auto. On my way to lunch and boom.....the dreaded service engine soon light followed by violent shaking in the engine bay. I drive through town in limp mode only to find that I had a misfiring issue in 2 cylinders. Did my research to avoid going to the stealership and chose Munich Auto due to the good reviews. Not only were they able to squeeze my car in while they were swamped, they had it turned around in few hours. I brought it back the following week so they could fix the suspension issue they also had found while diagnosing. I must say they provided very good service and a friendly attitude.
