As badly as I want to gatekeep this place, I have to give them a well-deserved 5 stars (I'd give 6 if they let you). I have only had great experiences here. They have such reasonable rates, fantastic customer service, and they are FAST. I don't think I've ever waited for more than 30 min for anything I've taken my car in for. I'm moving soon and even with a 30 min drive, I will be coming here for anything my car needs for as long as I'm in Austin. 10/10 read more

Do not come here! The man that was working today was incredibly rude. Wish I had done more research because it seems to be that there are many reviews about this person acting disrespectful to others. read more

Fast, efficient, and reasonably priced! I did not have an appointment but they took my car on the spot and quickly performed the inspection. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, and it was $11.50. Very friendly service, as well! I waited inside the office in the AC while they worked on the car. I'll definitely be coming back here for all of my car needs in the future! read more

I had to give my son a ride to pick up his truck a few months ago and, at the time, I needed my rotors replaced. Elie had my car ready in about 2 hours and he charged me a very reasonable rate for the work. Fast forward to today. My other son had a leak that he had taken his car to the dealership for and was told he needed his radiator and water pump replaced. When they tried to stick my son with all the labor costs (despite having an extended warranty that covered both parts and labor), we brought the car to Elie. Once he looked at the issue, he let us know that it was ONLY the radiator that needed replacing so, not only is he saving my son money, he's saving my son's warranty company money! Honesty and great service go a long way nowadays and I will continue to use and recommend MBC to anyone needing work done on their cars. read more

5 stars for sure. Great customer service, great pricing, amazing work, great location. I recommend MBC to everyone I know.

I was recommend to come to MBC so and I'm so glad I did. I came in with a few concerns about my car and wanting an oil change. They did an oil change and full inspection in under a hour. They also gave me great insight about my car health and helped me to leave the shop with peace of mind. I recommend this shop to any Austin transplant they will make you feel like family. read more

The best! Honest about everything and super kind and very time efficient. I would highly recommend you get your car serviced here. I think honesty is number one most important trait when it comes to a mechanic and this is the place that you can find it. read more

Very quick and easy state inspection. They run a good ship here and know what they are doing.

This place is terrific. Very professional. Inspections done with no wait. Good advice on maintenance.

Eli and team are great. My 2015 Nissan Sentra was making a noise (iconic) brought it to MBC for help. Both Eli and his mechanic came outside with me to observe and diagnose the issue. I needed new motor mount(s), and my car has three. Eli suggested replacing one at a time to see if we needed to replace all three to fix the problem as I couldn't save money on labor costs by replacing them all at once due to the position of the mounts, and each motor mount was going to cost $300-$400 (parts+labor). Thankfully, replacing one motor mount fixed the issue! Eli also noticed that my car was making noises going over bumps and informed me that I need new strut assemblies. I now have time to save for that fix and can watch for wear on my tires. Eli is direct, won't mince words or waste your time, and goes above and beyond to help you make informed decisions. read more

Elie was really attentive, helpful, and efficient. He was really honest with what I needed done and didn't try to sell me on other services like what you can experience in other places. Prices are really fair and service is really fast! Would definitely recommend! read more

MBC station's service is unmatched. Without fail, the owner directly ensures you are getting the best care possible for the best price. Elie, the owner, does not believe in over charging and always gets the best pricing on parts. Could not recommend this local business more! read more

I was referred over to MBC by a co-worker and they did such an amazing job. They completely replaced my brakes, rotors and calipers originally and noticed some other things that needed to be done to help with the maintenance of my truck. They gave us a great deal, the service was amazing, and the work was all done in a day. If you're looking for a reliable mechanic who won't upsell you on unnecessary parts/work, go see MBC. read more

My car broke down as soon as I got to Austin and I was so upset because I haven't found a good mechanic shop yet. Elie and his team fixed my car in such a short amount of time and fixed it for so much less than what everyone else around was quoting me!! Such genuine people that truly take pride in making their customers happy. 10/10 service and work!! read more

Easy, and straightforward. Advised me I didn't need a $600 repair recommended by my dealership. Which, I agreed with!

Been here once before for an inspection, this time went in for an oil change. The man in charge was rude both times. This time they somehow disabled the alarm system, so I went back a few minutes later. Man said I had to come back later. Inconvenient, but okay. Came back 45 minutes later and the man accused me of disabling it to get my money back. Now I'm offended at the accusation and start to argue and he starts screaming in my face. Won't even try to assess or fix what they clearly broke-- just kept accusing me of being a scam artist somehow. When I protested, he called me a "m*therf*cker" and a "white POS" to my face. Started at rude and escalated to insulting in the extreme, not to mention racist. Never had an experience like this before in my entire life, and I will never go near this hellhole again, no matter how close it is to my house. And my alarm is still disabled! read more

I got a car inspection here, they were very fast and fixed my wipers for a good price. Would recommend!

I've been going to MBC Texaco for all my car repairs, and I couldn't be happier. Their prices are unbeatable, and they always fix my car quickly and efficiently. Elie, the owner, truly cares about his customers and goes above and beyond to get the best deals. Highly recommend! read more

Was in and out within 30 minutes for an oil change, tire change, and state inspection. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. This will definitely be my new mechanic! read more

I've been going here for over 6 years now, and its a place I can trust. It's usually pretty speedy too!

I've been taking my car here ever since I moved into the neighbourhood (2011), and I think they're great. I saw that another reviewer said that there was a "gender bias" and that she feels that she was overcharged because of that. I'm a woman, and I have never found this to be the case. The only thing I know about cars is that they have four wheels and get me from A to B, and I'm always paranoid that mechanics will overcharge me; I've run this place's quotes by my male friends who know about cars (sorry, I'm a bad feminist!) and they said they were fair. Also, for the people who have complained that the owner is "rude". Oh, please, get over yourselves - it's just cultural differences. Yes, the owner is a little gruff and doesn't seem like the type to suffer fools gladly, but, like me, he's not American, and some of us foreigners weren't brought up believing that good customer service involves exaggerated friendliness and fake smiles. I don't need my mechanic to kiss my ass - I just need him to get the job done quickly and efficiently in the least time possible, and this place does that. read more

The owner of the shop is an amazing person! Not only does he truly care about your business but he doesn't ROB YOU!! of your money! Make up lies about what's wrong with your car!! I've had so many terrible experiences with mechanic shops and even dealerships! But this place is trustworthy!! Being a woman it is sooooo easy to get "tricked" or "manipulated" into thinking your car is in worse shape than it is!! THANK YOU THANKKKK YOU read more

As a young woman who doesn't know much about cars, Elie is someone I know I can trust whole heartedly, and he always takes care of my car while giving the best deals. He will skip his lunch to make sure my service is done and does everything to the best standard. I couldn't recommend him enough and have referred all of my friends and family to him. He is kind and honest and I will never get my car fixed anywhere else! read more

Best mechanic in all of Austin! Elie has been taking care of my family for years now. I have referred so many people to come to the shop and they all leave so satisfied. They are honest, loyal, and extremely hard-working people, to say the least. I have not found a better deal elsewhere, and my loyalty will never leave MBC. Thank you for always being so welcoming and kind!! 10 out of 10. read more

the owner is the rudest person! he started yelling at me even before I could get out of my car. the yelling went on many times. been bringing cars here for 20 years. never again! read more

How lucky are we to have such a wonderful neighborhood mechanic ??? I have lived in the the neighborhood for about 18 years and I only started using MBC station about 8 years ago. With 2 teenaged drivers I feel like there is always something wrong with one of our cars not to mention just normal maintenance . Eli at MBC has alway been wonderful to me and my daughters . Not only does he do his best to get your car fixed up so you can be on your way quickly but he prices things fairly and doesn't encourage work that isn't necessary. He has come to my home to put air in my tires , driven me back to my house when he had a chance so I didn't have to sit there or walk home and come over to my home to help a friend that thought she could change her own flat but got in over her head! That is the definition of above and beyond if you ask me ! Thank you for all you do to keep our cars safely driving on the road ! read more

I can not say enough good things about this place. They have really helped and saved me so much money. They have constantly had my back and made sure I wasn't spending more than I was supposed to. They really and truly have your best interest in mind. read more

Good honest service at a great price. I had a quote by a big name company to get my brakes fixed. I couldn't afford it. I remembered getting excellent customer service here when I got my car inspected, so I took a chance that I'd get a better deal here. I did!!! Less than half of what the big name chain quoted me and that included an oil change. This is my new mechanic. I will always come here first for my auto needs. read more

I've been getting my cars repaired here for years--and have always been happy with the service given. There are never any pressured upscales. In fact, I trust them fully to do only that which is needed. Can't say enough good about this shop. read more

I have come to this shop a few times. Our car is not brand new but it is only a few years old and in excellent condition, so I figured ok there may be a thing or two that needs to be replaced so I have come back to this place but this is it. They were given plenty chances to prove me wrong but failed to do so.Literally every time we come here for a state inspection there is an issue. This time we were told that because of an "issue" with the wiper, the state inspection will not pass. Such bs. The gender discrimination and corruption is obvious and sad. I will not be coming back here. read more

This place is within walking distance from my house, which is convenient when needing to have work done on my car. The guys who run the place are seriously honest, and their prices are reasonable. Once when my battery was dead, one of the owners drove to my house to jump the car so I could bring it in for a replacement battery. I just decided to start buying all my gas here--even though they don't have the new-fangled "pay at the pump" machines. I'll walk inside to pay just to give them the business. read more

I went here to get my car inspected and I found the guy pretty rude! I thought I would give them my business since they are local and been in my neighborhood for a long time. I left with a passed inspection but the man pretty much talked down to me the whole time. Did not appreciate it one bit!!!! read more

I stopped in today because they have the lowest gas prices I've seen anywhere in town. The two men I spoke with were very friendly and helpful. I like their old school style - there's no pay at the pump, you have to go inside. I can see how this could be considered inconvenient, but I didn't mind. They told me that next time I can go ahead and pump my gas without having to come inside first, which I also appreciated. I'm so used to either paying at the pump or having to pay inside first - it's refreshing to feel trusted to not steal gas! Eli or Elli told me that they do a lot of extras for their regular customers - sending someone out if you get a flat tire, recharging dead batteries, etc. I love my current mechanic, but I'm definitely making this my regular gas station! read more

The station is close to the house so I figured I would come in and get my 2 year old car inspected. Usually takes 10-15 minutes tops. Took 45+ minutes after a previous customer's hoopty miraculously having another problem with it before he left. *Shocked* The owner freaks out. Forgets about my car. They finally get around to it. It passed of course. Then he tells me I cannot use my debit card unless I get $10 of gas. Whaaaat?! I said that's fine, but I'll never be back. The owner then proceeded to become more hostile with me and tell me he was not getting rich over this transaction. Make sure to take cash AND be aware of all of you car's issues before taking it in here. read more

I always get my state inspection done here. They are nearby and I've always found the service efficient. This year, there was an issue with the emissions test system. He was very polite explaining to me why it couldn't be done that day and offered to call me back once the problem had been resolved and my car could be taken care of. I appreciate the follow up and will continue to return as long as I live in the area! read more

The owner is always nice and respectful. Yes the storefront doesn't look state of the art but there is an old-school charm to the place. Reminds me of the old garage my grandfather worked in when I was a child. I've had 2 vehicles inspected there and both experiences were pleasant. Don't expect a lot of chit-chat from any of the staff though. They all seem very focused on getting you in and out quickly...which is also a plus for me. read more

This is the best service station I have ever been to! The workers and the work they put in are both fantastic. I never have to worry about being cheated or about things going missing. They don't do any work with out making sure you as the owner understand your vehicle. Here you get treated like a person not just a customer. If you want great service come see Eli and him and his crew will take care of you. read more

Texaco Mbc Station - Brand new tires for my car!! WHOOP!! - Gas Stations Near Me - Austin, Texas

I've been using MBC Texaco for years, from my high school '79 Chevy to my college '89 Buick and now my current '00 Honda. They are kind, honest fellows who give you a great deal. I've never had any problems or arguments with them. They do state inspections quickly (unless they are swamped with other cars, then you might have to wait a little bit). Even though I no longer live in the neighborhood, I still prefer their auto shop to any other in town, and I strongly recommend this business to anyone who needs a tow/work on their car done. Like Winston D, I'll even stop and get gas when I'm around (even though their gas prices are not always the cheapest) just because I want to give them business. read more

These guys are quick, efficient and fair on price. There's nothing fancy here at all so if you're looking for some place that keeps records of your car or provides warm customer service, this is not your place. But for good, fair, no frills service, I highly recommend. read more

This is a great place to get an oil change and an inspection. We always try to go local when we can but after some bad experiences with some local car shops we got a little discouraged. We decided to try the guys at MBC who are always courteous when we buy gas. We are glad that we did because the service was speedy, as courteous as ever, and we didn't need a "transmission flush" or a new air filter (why do we ALWAYS need a new air filter at the other places?) I also can't help but notice how clean everything in this garage is. These guys really take pride in doing a great job. read more
