The convenience store/gas station is fine, but the car wash and vacuum area are a real nuisance for nearby residents. The blowers, vacuums, and car wash noise carry surprisingly far into the surrounding residential area near 51st/Berkman. As this part of Windsor Park/Mueller becomes more residential, the car wash feels increasingly out of place. Speedy Stop should reduce the noise and install better screening/enclosure for the car wash and vacuum area. read more

It's a large and pretty clean convenience store and gas station with a car wash. Everything you would expect to find in a gas station shop. The car wash is a little wonky though. They have attendants guiding you onto the tracks to go through the wash. However, I wasn't given proper directions and my front driver's tire went off the conveyor. Scared me! read more

Feels silly rating a gas station on Yelp of all places, but this is important for people to know. I'm just going to come out and say it - the off putting, crude clerk who works the register over night probably (like 90% sure) stole my wallet. When I simply asked (because I had to) if he had taken it after I had looked for it for an hour, he got instantly defensive and became extremely unhelpful. It's just not how an innocent person acts. I called the detectives so they can check the cameras. But that will take days. At this point I just want to see what happened. But I am so sure, like gut feeling in my bones, that he took it. It had no cash and I just canceled the cards, but now I gotta get a new ID. That's all that came from this. If the cameras show he did take it, the guy's gotta go. Hate leaving reviews like this because I am not a "Karen" at all but everyone please be aware. We came here on Sunday for a car wash and had a good experience. We were able to get the car wash started within minutes of arriving, which was nice. Prices were reasonable. Their staff was helpful and on top of it as well. The car wash certainly did its job. And it was easy to find and get to as well. We would come here again. read more

I have gone to the Speedy Stop several times for a car wash and when going through the line I paid for the most expensive wash and when I got up to Tre attendant it had that I was getting a less expensive wash. I brought it to the attention of the attendant and he did change it. Please make sure you are getting what you paid for. This is the first time this happened. read more

I live in Mueller & used to love this car wash-2 yr resident. But, today, I just paid $14 for a wash after purchasing gas. There was a LONG line...but, a good wash is hard to find. But..I noticed the guy just standing there pulling cars ahead. Not scrubbing the Cedar & bugs off.. not even hosing the vehicles:/ So I called the store to ask if he could do that. We are in the middle of CEDAR season & every car had heavy yellow dust on it. The guy said, 'YOU do your own prewash-we don't do that', very ugly-like this wasn't the 1st time someone complained. Needless to say, my car still had a layer of crap on it. I'm going in to get a refund. **UPDATE Wouldn't give refund! 'Johnny L.' was undoubtedly the guy I had talked to on phone & told me to take it up w/ the guy at the wash.I insisted on refund. He made me dig receipt out of trash (I cleaned car as I was waiting) & HAD to walk out & see the car to 'check' what I was talking about. I finally got refund--btw, I paid $16 w/ gas purchase. I just got the $16 wash and it was exactly what the $7 car ahead of me got done. And it left all my windows with water marks so the car looks dirty. They have put in a new system that literally screams ads at you at top decibel while you pump gas. Never ever coming here again: it's awful.

This car wash will get the job done, but it's pretty mediocre at best. Basic was starts at $7, but when I got out to use the dryers, I noticed the back of my car was still soapy. Luckily I had a rag I could try to wipe it down with but imagine it's going to look funky when it drys. I was excited to see the free dryers, but they are really poorly maintained (the first one I used the hose was broken) and they are SUPER short. It's really hard to get them into clean your car. I could barely even vacuum by back floorboards and had to just deal with missing major parts of the seats I couldn't reach. Overall, if I'm desperate, maybe I'd come here again but I doubt it. I'd rather drive down to the Palms car wash south where they have a clean car wash & awesome dryers. Guess this won't be my replacement closer to my neighborhood. :( read more

This gas station is filthy and a serious polluter (see attached photos), although I have nothing bad to say about the individual employees While I understand the need for our neighborhood homeless population to have a place to sleep/live, SpeedyStop must be responsible for cleaning up its property if it's going to allow that. The rest of the neighborhood is pretty well kept up; this company is an outlier. I plan to refer this to Austin 311 and/or Exxon downstream management if the situation isn't resolved in the next month or two. read more

We have now gone twice to this car wash and the back of our car did not get washed AT ALL. Will not return.

8 months ago I went in to exchange my propane tank for a full one and they said sorry they had lost the keys to the propane storage rack. WTF? I stopped back by several times over the next few days and each time was told the keys were lost and it took them about five days to locate the keys; they were quite rude about it. How dare me want propane? I went back today first time since that episode, again to exchange an empty propane canister for a full one and was astounded when that they told me they had lost the keys to the propane rack --- AGAIN. It's hard to imagine the level of incompetence that could lead to them losing the keys often enough such that I would encounter the same situation 8 months later. It will be my last time shopping at Speedy Stop. read more

Speedy Stop was an all-around unpleasant experience, with the main issue being that my car was damaged after passing through the wash. The claims group made it their mission to find any and all reasons to say it "could have been" my fault and were convinced the damage must have happened after the car wash in the 12 hours prior to me contacting them...ok....sure. The kicker was when I was shown 480p resolution pictures that "proved" there was no damage. Suffice it to say, a damaged car and an inability to get any support = buyer beware. It's close to home and very nice... however the customer doesn't match. Not very friendly. Employees will ignore you even if there is a crazy line - they will abandon and leave their one cashier to suffer. --- Food is excellent and the cafe employees are friendly and amazing. They even remember what I usually order! --- Car wash is nice too, but closes for no reason.. I pay a month to month thing and it easy and much cheaper... but when employees tell me they are closed due to rain... and it's not raining - very concerning. We live in Texas... I was across the street at the new HEB and I really needed a car wash and a vacuum! This place is right outside the entrance so, I figured hey why not! They offer a basic $5.00 wash, $10.00 wash that has tire cleaning (which I needed) and a $15.00 deluxe wash. I opted for the $10.00 one because my rims had soot in them (it may have been a minute since I washed my car)! I pull up and put my card in to pay for it and immediately the bar opens to let you pull up. I pull up and it has one of the tire guides that you pull into and it pulls your car through the car wash. Mind you when I pull up there is nobody there and no red light or anything telling you to stop and wait for an attendant, etc. I am about half way through the car wash with someone behind me who did the exact same thing that I did and pulled in. All the sudden the car wash shuts off and this guy is walking through and he motions for me to roll my window down. Then he proceeds to speak to me in a way that is not professional by any means and lecture me about how I am supposed to wait for an attendant and then he does the same to the guy behind me. If this is the case maybe we should be standing where we are supposed to or close the door of the car wash so, that nobody can go it. Here is the way I see it, you are getting b*tchy with me because you weren't doing your job and weren't where you were supposed to be and somehow that is now my fault! After this I pulled around back to utilize their free vacuums. Well, this is where you learn you get what you pay for with the vacuums but, not with the car wash. I look at my car and it appears clean except for the wheels. Someone please explain to me why I paid extra for that if it wasn't going to clean my wheels! Oh, wait you can use the scrub brushes thrown in garbage cans with dirty water that have probably not been changed for a couple days! Well, geez thanks! The vacuums well they are free and honestly it would be quicker to pick every piece of dirt out of your car with a pair of tweezers than run the nozzle over the carpets. There was no sucking power at all! I also put air in my tires and that cost me $1.00 but, I think that is pretty standard these days. I wish they would have had a tire gauge though but, they didn't so, I just ended up guessing at the pressure! Buyer beware!!! Buying fuel as well as a car wash. I cannot speak on paying for anything at the pump because I go in to pay for fuel. That being said one would think the safety & the service of the transaction would be of the best quality. Definitely not the case. I have had 3 separate instances at this location this being the 3rd. The first two were from the clerk not giving me the correct car wash I paid for. One time the car wash attendant was actually inside & heard what I paid for and made the adjustment for me outside on their own. Which may I say was a 1st class move because during the time spent inside debating, the car wash actually closed for the day! She said sir I will reopen it for you so you can get what you paid for. Ultimately a great move. But if not for her being inside it would not have happened. The other time same basic deal w/no help. Just had to deal w/it. But today... Today took the cake. I paid for fuel & a Works car wash. Went to pump gas, pump not on. Go back inside, explain the pump wasn't on, on pump 18. She says I said Pump 16. And apparently a customer used 16 and used my $60. So the clerk then manager says it's not their fault & I just have to eat the loss. I was wearing a mask for COVID but the manager says I said pump 16 clearly. I asked could I hear/see the tape. No she responds only w/a police officer! What?!!! So we go back & forth ultimately w/the district managers number in hand. I call he is nice & says he can give me $57 of the $60 I was short but that is the best he can do because I caught him on a good day because he's leaving the doctor! Oh.... Ok. I decide to cut my loss there & vow never to return to a place I have frequented for idk 15 plus years. And on top of that they didn't give me my fuel discount that I was entitled to because I bought the Works Car wash. I wasn't trying to get over I just wanted what I paid for. They won't care but they lost this customer for life. Here & at any other Speedy Stop. I am in the trucking business. Our diesel trucks have spent anywhere from $500 to a $1,500 a day at Speedy Stops to refuel. Months at a time. Never again. You never know how a bad experience can effect your business. Speedy Stop won't care but keep losing customers for life & see how long business will last. read more

This is what I recently submitted on their website... I stopped by to fill up last night (Sept 23rd) at approximately 830pm. The first pump (I think #7) processed my credit card, but then it wouldn't pump. After a few attempts, I had to cancel the transaction and go to a different pump. I was able to fill my tank at pump #1 but then it would not print out a receipt so I could have my car wash code, and I had to go inside. I frequent this gas station and I would say that the pumps are out of paper about 50% of the time! That completely defeats the purpose of paying a the pump! I DO NOT want to go inside for any reason. And the exchange with your register attendant last night further illuminates why I hate having to go inside... As I approached the registers, there were 2 people working. A gentleman was checking out another customer, so the woman waved me over. SHE WAS EATING FOOD! As in...she was chomping on a full mouth of food as I explained to her my problems (broken pump and no paper in another). She then proceeds to print out and hand me a receipt, leaving a dirty fingerprint on it. I ask her what the problem is with filling the printers with paper as it often seems to be a problem. She shrugs at me. I question if this is something she will report to her manager, and she responded "I already answered you. I said that we tell the manager!" I remind her that she has a mouth full of food and that I couldn't make out what she may or may not have said. So I walk away. From behind I hear her moan "Uuuuggghhh" This exchange was extremely unprofessional, to say the least. Aside from the fact that she was rude and was eating while at her station and interacting with a customer, she offered NO APOLOGY. Though this station is in my neighborhood and is always brightly lit, I will definitely reconsider returning here until I am assured that these problems (poor customer service and no paper in the machines) are resolved. Okay, I will concede that the car wash isn't as thorough as doing it yourself. But then again, I have yet to find a car wash that is. Other than that, I always enjoy the Speedy Stop. I have found the employees to be friendly, and even fun to talk to. This Speedy Stop feels more like a truck stop than a neighborhood convenience store to me. (Partially because they sell Cracker Barrel type folksy crap, but also because they have everything from souvenirs to TV dinners.) This morning I got everything I needed at Speedy Stop for $31.58 and left feeling very satisfied. Breakfast taco made by an exceptionally nice woman, a decent cup of coffee, oil (the manager suggested that I help myself to a free paper funnel), windshield wiper fluid, a full tank, and a deluxe car wash. I saw a woman cleaning the front windows of the store, and another woman spot sweeping the gas pump area during my visit. I was in a rush and was able to eat my taco while riding hands free through the car wash. Bonus! I'm sorry that others have had bad experiences. Maybe they have new management or something. This is an extremely popular and feature-packed gas station! Automatic car wash with 3 intensity settings! Look, it's an automatic car wash, don't expect to get the perfect clean. If you want your car spot-free, then do a self-service car wash or do it at home yourself. Free vacuums in the back! Gas pumps (obviously). Breakfast tacos and lunch tacos! This is where the money's at. $2 for a breakfast taco, $3 for a lunch taco. Pick your protein (or potato), optional cheese, pico, and salsa and voila! You've got yourself a well-packed breakfast taco. Sure, there's no fancy ingredients like avocados or wild mushrooms, but it sure beats paying $7 for two breakfast tacos that barely fill you up. read more

This location is pretty busy. Gas is a good price with a car wash. On nice days the car wash is packed. Vacuums are free. The store has a good variety of drinks and food. Bathrooms are clean. The cashiers are nice sometimes, lol. For this area, this speedy stop is ok. Car wash is now $7 not $6. Same car wash but now you pay more. Not happy. A-Ok doesn't describe it, but I think 2 stars is a little harsh. They have recently redone this store (with the car wash GL K. spoke of). It looks nice, the carwash is cheap! The store is put together weird. The huge cashier's island is just *right there* when you walk in, so if there's a line, you have to figure out how to get through the people to get to the isles. You can't really tell which cash register is open because the counter is so tall and there are usually several cashiers milling around back there, you can't tell who is at a cash register or not and which ones are open. Then, once you find a line there are people coming in the store behind you, trying to figure out how to get around you. It's confusing and annoying. The space is large, but too narrow and awkward. That said, I'm glad it's open and the carwash is great. read more

No thanks, never again. Don't go to their car wash off you expect your car to get clean. I paid 15 bucks for a wash, which I think Is a bit expensive, and the whole back of my car is dirty. When I asked them about it, they suggested I scrub my car with a dirty brush in a trash can and run it through again. The guy acted like I was an ass for expecting my car to be clean. 15 bucks isn't cheap. Then he came over and led me to the front to show me that everyone else scrubs their car. I've worked in customer service all my life, when a customer is upset, you don't prove to them how wrong they are, just give me a damn refund or a code. That's all I wanted, oh or maybe a clean car? If I wanted to scrub it with a nasty brush I would have went to the coin wash. Nothing better than receiving bad service then that same person making you feel like it was your fault.
