Great job for this reliable mobile service. I've used some mobile services that were completely unreliable, so I was a little skeptical as to whether 5 Star would show up. Got a confirmation when I booked, and then a text that the tech was on the way about an hour before he arrived (and fully within the window they gave me). He pulled his truck up to the driveway, and I backed the car per his direction. He did a great job - super clean inside and out. Not a spot was missed. My only regret is that I parked under a tree, so I had some spots later on the windshield from that, but it was not his fault. I'd avoid doing that. It was pretty expensive, but it seems like all the detail services are. Not something I would do all the time, but for getting my car in great shape I'll definitely call 5 Star again. read more

I wish I'd had a better experience here. In fact, I wish I'd had any experience at all. See, I'm still waiting for that quote I requested from this company on May 26th. The window of opportunity has, unfortunately, long passed. Ultimately, I had to make the best of a "do it yourself" job due to their lack of a response. I'll be the very first to admit that my time-frame for service was requested over the Memorial Day weekend mid-morning on a Saturday. Also, my windows of opportunity that were limited to just two days of the three-day weekend (due to circumstances beyond my control, which I explained in the quote request). However, the other three companies from which I requested and received quotations each replied promptly within 2 to 44 minutes of the timestamp of my request that they were unable to service. At least one company even provided helpful alternatives. Being booked or closed and unable to provide service to a prospective customer in the requested time-frame is an understandable thing. Leaving a customer hanging for weeks on end without the courtesy of a reply is another. Even an apology after-the-fact for being unavailable would have been something that left a positive impression. These are not inexpensive services, after all. I had really hoped for better response from a company named "5 Star" with so many five-star Yelp reviews. It leaves me wondering if these reviews are totally legit. Therefore, I believe a two-star rating is earned, because, honestly, based on my other respondents, "Meh, I've experienced better." read more

Because I don't really trust yelp, and I feel like most reviews are strangely hyped up (no, that mediocre pizza in the beer garden wasn't better than sex, I've been there) or paid for, I tend to avoid places that have suspiciously good reviews. But, I'm also lazy and sorta cheap. This option meant that I didn't have to drive across town and it was significantly better priced. 5 Star Clean could legitimately charge more and it would still be worth it. Car looks great, including the cream steering wheel (why would they pick that color?) which was embedded with years of hand dirt and dead skin cells and who knows what else. Vanrod is excellent. Chill, nice dude, that didn't make me feel weird having him to my business while I was there alone. I know that's an odd thing to add to a review, but because they come to you, I think it's important to note how not-creepy he is. He also clearly takes pride in the job he does. No upsale attempt when I told him what I wanted, but I feel like he would have mentioned anything that would have been useful to get done. Deodorizer scent was as gross as I expected, but much lighter than they normally are so it should air out pretty quickly. This was his first time cleaning this particular type of car, and the backseat is nearly impossible to access, but he didn't miss a spot. I'm super impressed. read more

Aside from being two hours late to our appointment, Vanrod did a great job. What was suppose to be from 12:30-3:30 actually lasted from 2:30-6pm. However, he did a very thorough job, and my car looks and smells brand new. I also stepped outside to speak with him for a bit, and he was very friendly, and we had some great conversations. I will probably use 5 Star Clean again, but I won't plan anything else for the day and have to cancel my plans (again). If they would've been on time, I would've given them 5 stars. I also never got $15 off for finding them on yelp, even though I let him know before paying. It was also kinda expensive at nearly $150 just for an interior cleaning. I know this is going to sound crazy, BUT, have you ever been so excited about having, acquiring something that you could hardly wait until that day arrives? You know, kinda like when you were a kid on Christmas Eve! Well, that was the 'feeling' I had about having my car detailed. Man could I write a book about my experience with Vanrod and Blue, and it was exactly that, an experience that filled me to the top. These 2 ARE ONE OF A KIND, man and his adorably friendly beast of a dog. Blue won me over, so much so I found myself sitting out in my yard the entire Detail, talking and playing and loving on Blue. As time went, as I began to examine the work Vanrod was doing, I couldn't believe my eyes. My 20 year old Honda Element was coming alive! I'm old, so can never figure out how to do that picture download thing. Too bad, because a picture tells the story ALL BY ITSELF. I love to hear peoples his-story, and was interested in Vanrods "Why" car detailing. He told me, "I love making people 'feel' happy, good about themselves!"
