POSITIVES- 1. Dylan and Leo showed up on time. 2. Both were very personable. We chatted a bit between each window cleaning. 3. They worked hard the entire time on the window panes 3. My window panes are so clear- I didn't realize how occluded they were Great job on them! 4. I had assumed that they would clean the dirt on the outside railing. This is not part of a regular window cleaning. I was informed it would be an extra $25 per window. That misunderstanding is on me. 5. They couldn't remove one of the storm windows, so the cost was credited back to my estimate and I wasn't charged for that window. NEGATIVES- 1. After of paid and they left, I found loose dirt and a couple of dead flies on some of the windowsills. (I take partial responsibility for this problem because I didn't check the work before they left.) 2. I emailed Alexandra in the office. Even though I sent pictures showing the loose dirt and dead flies, she emailed back that it wasn't their fault and that the windowsills are always wiped, and that these were stains which would require deep cleaning and scrubbing which isn't included in their work. 3. My expectation was an apology and perhaps a ' please use our services again, will do better next time'. As stated, they did an immaculate job on the window panes. When we first moved into our home in 2013, I had Gwyndows come out to clean windows for us. They did an excellent job then. Fast forward to now. We had new windows installed last year and for the first time, I wasn't dealing with 40 year old windows that never looked fully clean. This Spring/Summer brought some crazy storms and my windows got fairly dirty, so it was time to call Gwyndows again. Presales experience was great. Received the quote quickly and any questions / clarifications were responded to promptly and completely. Scheduling was easy and readily available. Tech arrived on time and was generally doing a good job of cleaning. He removed the screens, cleaned the channels and windows. He scrubbed, washed and wiped them well. Only issue I had was that after the job was done, he didn't go around to inspect his work; so there were spots and streaks left (it's understandable that happens) that he would have seen easily. They showed up a little early but had let me know they were on their way. Daniel and Stephanie split up. She worked on the windows inside the house. He worked on the outside. This is third time I've used this company and the first 2 times were great. Gwyndows may be under new ownership since the last time. Anyways, previously the service included my small bungalow and backyard 12'x16' office. This time the technician told my son (I was at work) that the fee only included 20 windows...which he said was only my house. When you add every single window in my home the only way it adds to 20 is to include my office in back. He left without doing the 3 windows in my office and never left any kind of receipt. Nor did I get an email with a bill. Secondly, I bought a coupon for $90 which was supposed to give me $140 worth of service. I was told I still owed $156 more. So effectively my window washing cost $296. With no receipt I have no breakdown or record. All very unprofessional and disappointing. BTW The windows he did wash look great he just didn't finish the job. Update a day later.....both the owner and office manager reached out to me and offered to come back and finish by doing the office. The tech did come back this afternoon so I'm pretty happy. I also was emailed an invoice so that's good too. It's true that as business owners we all have some mess ups (me too) and it's how you handle complaints that makes all the difference. I submitted a request for a quote and was asked to take photos. Because it was easier, I just pulled screenshots from the street image off of Google maps (I'm not sure why they couldn't do this) and they asked for my email address so they could send the quote (now I understand that was a bad idea, see below). When I did get the quote it was double that of another company for outdoor windows only so I ultimately went with another company. And the other company actually came out to look at my house to quote me. Outside of that, I received an email from a third party website, saying that Robin invited me to a "networking website". The subject line was the name of my former employer, implying that they must have looked me up on LinkedIn. I work in email marketing and I've never seen anything like this! They did a really good job cleaning our windows. Best price of the 2 other companies I called. I did not realize how awfully dirty the windows were until after they were cleaned. My only gripe is that the person they sent didn't wear his mask when inside cleaning. He actually asked me if I wanted him to wear a mask and I said "yes when you're indoors. I am so disappointed with this service. I had Gwyn, the owner a few years back and she did a great job. I wasted my time today on my only day off waiting for them at an agreed upon scheduled time. The person who answered the phone and responded to text messages is rude. Then I am told there is a 2 hour window so plan on waiting around for them. When questioned about window sills she said they give a quick wipe. That was not the case a few years ago. They also send an email implying that a 'TIP' for the person who performs the service would be appreciated. Seriously? What home service does that? I'll go elsewhere. read more
