Two words: UNPROFESSIONAL and DECEITFUL. I truly don't know where to begin. I despise writing a poor review for a locally-owned business, but after months of being led-on and ignored, I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else's precious time. My husband was in a car wreck in October 2025. The person who rear-ended him has terrible insurance, so we decided to file a claim through our insurance, Allstate. Capital City Collision provided us a quote that our insurance did not agree with. An Allstate negotiator went back and forth with the shop. Part of the issue was my husband's truck had after-market parts that were damaged. Our Allstate negotiator, Elizabeth, called us to confirm that she was able to get funds approved by her manager and they reached an agreement on pricing with the shop. A check for $2,207.66 was sent to the shop to start ordering parts. According to Allstate, the shop cashed the check on January 20th. It is now March 19th and the shop still has yet to reach out. I have tried calling the shop multiple times in the last two months. Each time I call, they answer and hang-up immediately. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are busy. I tried calling the shop today, and again, same situation: answer, then hang up. I thought to myself, "hmm... maybe they really are ignoring our calls?" So I waited 15 minutes and called back with a blocked number. What do you know... Catherine decided to pick up and answer this time! She kept me on hold for 9 minutes before taking me off hold and hanging up on me immediately. I called back, and a man answered. He transferred me up to Catherine, who kept me on hold for 4 minutes this time and hung up immediately. While I was on hold the second time, I received a text message saying they wouldn't do business with us. They ignored my text, asking when they planned on returning the check they cashed for $2,207.66. My husband and I have been trying to get his truck fixed since October 2025. It is now March 2026. I understand that our insurance was being difficult to work with... we were annoyed by Allstate, too! That being said, Capital City Collision could have rejected our business months ago, instead of stringing us along. Rather than sending this text message 5 months ago when this all started, they chose to dodge our calls and waste our time. Unprofessional does not even begin to describe their behavior. They were avoidant, deceptive, thieving, and rude. read more

They had to wait on some parts longer than expected due to my insurance carrier, but that was out of their control. My tires needed replacing, so they reached out to me personally to ensure I was given the equivalent quality as a replacement. They were always very kind to deal with on the phone as well. The were quick to give me an estimate from a photo I showed them. My insurance company, Hagerty also wanted to do and estimate, also from photos. Capital City was $500. under my Insurance quote. The repair was done by Capital City in quick time, even with the trouble finding vintage body parts. The work was perfect. The staff kept me updated on the work. They charged me $925 to put on 2 new tires. When I got the car back, every indicator light in my vehicle was on, and everytime I start the car, all of the alerts go off. Before taking the car here, not a single alert had gone off. I asked them to fix it and they blamed me for the issue. I offered them a chance to fix the issue and they did not respond. DO NOT GO HERE! I got my car scammed.I came in for two clear estimates for my car. On the day of estimate. I walked around with the gentleman who did my estimate to show him two different areas that my car needed to be fixed. Then I came on the appointment day to drop off my car. I also walked around with a daughter who DETAIL circle on the spot that I wanted to be fix with a yellow marker. I cam back a week later to pick up my car and only one spot got fix. The second spot they DID NOT fix and charged me the same amount. I was there telling the girl who circled on the spots on my car and asked why the second spot did not get fixed. She also took pictures of the spots. I ask her to full up the pictures. She could not answer me why the second spot did not get fix. She called someone else to explain some crazy excuses that they did not fix my car properly. read more

Capital City Collision is 10/10. They were very responsive, had an upbeat and positive vibe to the whole place, and explained everything in a very concise and easy to follow manner. My car ended up being completely totaled (hooray for ice storm) and I'm still giving them 5 stars because that's how good they were when I was upset that I had to go car shopping in this economy. I'll also say that as a woman, you don't always get the most courteous and polite folks at an auto shop - not the case here. I would recommend them to anyone in the south Austin area who's in need of an auto shop. read more

I've been a customer with them for about a year now for a few different incidences with mine and my husband's cars (one of them being running over a deer, oops!) (I own several vehicles, hence similar experiences.) ----This post is regarding MATTHEW---- ~ 3 weeks ago, Initially I planned to let my experience regarding appointment day go, as my vehicle never reached C.C. for repair. Matthew at C.c C. said appts. were booked 2 weeks out. but he could work me in because my vehicle would be ~ a 3 day repair. I was very pleased with such an accommodation, I thought. Following week on Wed., I expected a phone call from Matthew to drop off vehicle. Nothing. Thurs., came and went. Nothing. Friday came and almost went by until I called reception at C.c C.and was told he isn't available and to leave msg. Matthew never returned my call. Luckily for me I had Matthew's direct cell phone number; I texted Matthew to clarify status of when to bring car in, his response, "we received damaged part and had to reject it." That was all! No further detail was given. At that point, I simply dismissed Capital city collision as a body shop not worth pursuing. Relief. Thought that was the end. On 9/7/2022, Wednesday, yesterday, I received a text stating that there's a national shortage of parts for my car that would take 8 weeks or more. I got into a car accident back in February 8th. It took me 2 months to get an appointment at Capital City Collision but the wait was worth it. I just received my 2022 Toyota Tacoma last week and they didn't stopped until I was completely satisfied with their job. I would recommend this body shop to any one that needs work on their damage vehicle. My accident was really bad and I wasn't expecting them to get it all right but they did. People love to drive their car into mine. I don't understand it. In the back, the side, you name it, other drivers in Austin see it and decide they must crash their car into it. I got a dash cam a long time ago which has ensured I never have to pay for these collisions but I've taken 3 different vehicles here a total of 5 times and have NEVER been dissatisfied. You go to a dealership or larger chain collision center and they are pumping through so many cars each day you are instantly forgotten. Here you can have an honest conversation with the owner who will do literally whatever it takes to make sure you leave happy and will come back the next time you need him. Great communication, quick turnarounds, and very reasonable out of pocket rates. Even if you're not paying for it, you're going to get better value for your time. read more

I was able to keep my car and avoid having to spend $$$ on a rental. CCC provided outstanding customer service from the reps at the front desk, through the customer service reps, and the technicians who fixed my car. These humans are not only the best of the best in what they do, they are truly stand-up people. I've had the bittersweet experience of having been rear-ended, scratching my car on parking lot columns twice, and getting a nail in my tire in a short period of time. I call this series of unfortunate bittersweet due to the complete relief it was finding this shop. They were quick to estimate, schedule, and fix each job with ease and kindness. A special shoutout to RJ and Lady, the cute pups who I also get to pet during my visits. Finally, I have an electric vehicle and I found it really difficult to discover which shops could fix my car due to its specific paint colors, and the specific way it needs to be handled due to the battery. Just picked my car up from Capital City Collision and I truly couldn't be happier! I needed the front bumper of my Honda Civic replaced and painted. Getting a honest quote from Capital City was the most pain free experience I've ever been through. They quoted me the lowest out of the 4 highly rated shops I reached out to so I decided to give them a shot. When I dropped off the car, Christina at the front desk was so polite and friendly. She introduced me to Mathew who escorted me outside to go over the damage. Mathew let me know he could have the car done in a day and it would be ready for pick up by the afternoon. Throughout the process I received texts and updates about my car which was amazing and sure enough I got a call the next day that the car was ready for pick up as promised. The work they did was incredible! Mathew didn't stop at just replacing the bumper, he also cleaned my car and buffed my headlights making them literally look BRAND new as a courtesy. The whole process was honestly enjoyable which doesn't happen often when needing repairs to your vehicle. Both Mathew and Christina were so sweet, personal and accommodating. I can't recommend this body shop highly enough. They made everything very easy, and they did a great job on my car. As a first-time accident haver, I was a little nervous about how the interface between the repair shop and my insurance was going to work, but Diamond and Matt at CCC explained everything to me, were able to give me an appointment relatively quickly, and they also were able to give me a great loaner vehicle. Repair time was completely reasonable and as expected (it was during the ice storm too). I hope I don't have another accident any time soon, but if I do, this is definitely where I'll bring my car. Complete FAIL, Capital City Collision. Complete failure to thoroughly assess my vehicle for damage!! (Pictures attached for reference). Unfortunately my husband hit a deer while driving my truck. Naturally, I research Yelp to find the best collision repair near me. This establishment has good reviews and they were friendly when I called to ask the best time to come in. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly woman and filled out some information about my vehicle. Matthew was the gentleman who helped me, and although friendly he seemed very non-chalant and not focused on my truck. It seemed as if he had just woken up and gotten to work because I think he forgot to brush his teeth. Not trying to be rude, but I was so thrown off by his halitosis - it just showed lack of care or pride in his job and backed up his non-chalant attitude. After very quickly (2-3 minutes??) assessing the damage he goes back inside to write up a quote. I was there for a total of maybe 8-10 minutes. I then left because I had other shops to visit and I AM SO GLAD I DID! I visited the next collision center where the shop foreman actually spent about 10 minutes carefully reviewing the damage. He physically touched my truck and pulled out a piece from underneath the broken headlight that was still intact - This was a part that Matthew from Capital City Collision told me I was going to need - a part that I was going to have to pay to be ordered and painted - yes, a part that was perfectly good (see photo). This part was still good and Matthew from Capital City Collision didn't even catch that! Matthew never touched my truck. Next and worst of all - the second body shop noticed that there was also a dent that stretched from the rear cab of my truck and the bed of the truck; apparently the deer must have bounced off the side. It was a dent that I didn't even notice, but the man at the second shop zeroed in on it immediately. That is an expense that would have come purely out of my pocket had I gone w/ Capital City - because obviously they didn't notice it upon assessment! The second body shop I visited earned my business and actually helped save money by doing a thorough & complete assessment of my truck. They spent time with me, physically touched my vehicle and found additional damage that Capital City Collision didn't even find. Pure laziness and failure to assess caused Capital City Collision to miss out on business. read more

I just moved to Austin a year ago and I have not been able to really get to know the local auto places. I found CCC through a google search and I just dropped my car off and I can already tell that I have made the right choice. The staff was very professional and welcoming. I was able to go through a walk through with the mechanic and tell him what is happening that the insurance company didn't include on the estimate. After the walk through one of their employees was able to drive me to Enterprise for my rental car and stayed to make sure that I was able to get into the car. We got to talk about how the company is family owned, how the boss is out back working on the cars, and how well he treats his employees. Diamond and Matthew are wonderful! Capital City Collision took care of me quickly and even had my car detailed upon pick up!

Brought my truck in again since someone rear ended me in traffic. They were at fault so their insurance paid for it. Brought my truck in on a Friday and Matt said I could drop it off at anytime and they could contact my insurance company with the claim number. I decided to drop it off on Monday since that's when I would be getting my rental truck. On Monday I dropped off my truck and they went over the information again. They noticed that the estimate was for a used bumper and told me those were sometimes not usable so they would be on the lookout for defects. I was even offered a ride to enterprise, but declined since they were coming to pick me up. I called them up a few days later to check on my truck's status. Apparently the used bumper that was sent had some aftermarket modification so it wasn't good and a new one was to be ordered. I got a call from the insurance company that day saying it was approved. A week later on Tuesday they sent me a text saying it was ready and I picked it up on Wednesday. Truck looked great on the back! If you want updates on your vehicle, call them because they are busy sometimes. Not too busy since they can take in new vehicles at any time. This is why I like to come here. read more
