Transparent, affordable, professional Went in for a car inspection, found a few repairs at a reasonable price. Car repair was completed within a reasonable time as well. Very friendly, felt very taken care of. Solid shop! read more

Did great work at a decent price, great customer service. They have a quick turn around time and keep you updated on everything that's going on. We agreed to get both of my clutch actuators replaced but only one ended up being necessary so they didn't go through with both, saving me money and time in the process. If you need a reliable mechanic you can trust for a fair deal Lopez Auto Repair is the place to go. read more

Needed a headlight fixed and after picking up the actual headlight at a nearby parts store, they suggested I take it around the corner to Lopez to do the actual repair. I popped in without an appointment on a Friday and they fixed me right up in less than an hour (walked over to Radio to enjoy a coffee while I waited). Cost me a little less than $50. read more

Took my car there after another mechanic caused some major issues. Fixed it quickly for a good price and was very transparent about everything. Definitely recommend. read more

I went to Lopez Auto Repair for a 100k maintenance and some odd jobs on a 2011 Cadillac CTS. I was walked through several potentail outcomes of work that might be needed. I dropped my car off and received a call several hours later that much of the work that was quoted, did not need to be completed. I appreciate the honesty, service and promptness! I will be using Lopez Auto Repair for future servicing. read more

I've lived in multiple cities over the past 12 years of car ownership and have never been to a better auto shop than this. Quick turnaround time, no funny business trying to upsell you on anything, very knowledgeable, can diagnose any odd problem I bring to them, and by far the most affordable mechanics I've ever worked with. I will never go to another auto shop in town than Lopez, even for something as simple as an oil change. Highly recommend!! read more

My car is getting a bit older and is needing more repairs. The family run shop here goes above and beyond to try and solve problems as affordable as they can. They are very fair, very helpful, and quicker to get in/out than most other shops I've been. Would definitely recommend. read more

Amazing work from these guys and they don't try and up sale you on your car and all this non sense that most car places try and do. They are 100% business which I appreciate. read more

I recently purchased a used car and was looking for a place where I could get a pre purchase inspection last minute. I called Lopez Auto Repaid and they let me know I could bring my car in the same day. Not only was I able to bring my car in to get checked the same day I called, the inspection was completed within two hours. This is a no frills repair shop that was easy to work with, especially when I wanted something done last minute. They did a full inspection and made me feel much more comfortable about my purchase. It turned out they ended up being the cheapest quote I received as well. I would definitely go here again for a repair! read more

First off I'm not from Austin and l was up here when my truck broke down. The thermostat on my truck just went hot. I had to rent a room for the night and looked up places to fix my truck. This location popped up with good rating and reviews. I guess most people don't know much about fixing cars but just need to get their car fixed. Which is why I'm gonna leave it 2 stars. I should of follow the repair me website instead and went to a certified place. I barely made it to this place because my truck was running hot and could of destroyed my engine. Being said l just wanted to fix it and go home. I got it here around 12-1 pm and was quoted $486 to $586 to fix it... price difference is with the part (the water pump) they said they don't know which pump it is. The cheaper or expensive one, well how can you not know if you pulled it out to see it was cracked. *red flag (at that moment l knew l was gonna pay ) If you look up quotes online ... this job is usually around 3 hours and 300-400$ l would say $350 but I'm not in Houston to fix it. $270 for labor which is $90 an hour basically is what l was charged. I posted my receipt to show you the break down. I had to wait overnight and spend another $100 to stay to get back next day. So all in all l was charged dealer price on my old beat up truck. They fix the problem but l still need a radiator flush $135 to do that. I'll never come back here and wouldn't recommend it. I wanted to give this place business (family own) and did ( l know l was over charged but what can you do when you know your truck won't make it elsewhere). This place knew that l would never come back but l suggest you don't even come here. read more

I haven't found a good mechanic since mine retired, until now. I took my car to the dealership because my check engine light came on. I'll spare you the details but Joaquin @ Lopez Auto Repair diagnosed the issue, fixed it promptly and did it at half the price. He was great at explaining the issue and treated me with respect. Definitely recommend taking your care there any time. read more

Lopez Auto fixed my son's car for a great price so I trusted them with my Jeep Cherokee. It was making a lot of banging noise from the front passenger side and started really shaking between 60 and 70 MPH. They diagnosed the banging from worn out motor mounts. They fixed that quickly and started trying different things to get rid of the shaking. It took a lot of trial and error, but they finally fixed it by replacing the axle mounts in the front and found that one tire was adding to the problem. They wouldn't give up until it was fixed right. The best thing was the price was outstanding for all the labor they put in. Thank you! read more

Excellent experience at Lopez Auto Repair over the past day or two. The nearby dealership quoted me an outrageous price on some straightforward repairs. Juan at Lopez Auto gave me a fantastic price, their customer service was impeccable, and the car now runs great. I LOVE this place! It's a local mom and pop establishment....dad, brother, son, and daughters work here. Very old spirit of Austin! I came here 2 months ago to get the company van's oil changed and mentioned in passing that my personal car's driver's side windshield wiper had broken during the snow and ice in February. He said that it was simple to fix, the screw probably got loose. Today, I came back and mentioned to the son about my windshield wiper, and he remembered me! He quickly screwed my wiper back into place. I also got an oil change, and it was SUPER quick. They didn't even charge me for the 30 second windshield wiper fix, like most mechanics would. Now I'm a customer for life! Thanks Lopez Auto Repair! read more

...just be forwarned exactly what you are being charged for.... I needed and Oil Change and a new battery and didn't pay attention....I was charged $80 dollars for a battery installation. I couldn't see how it would be possible to cost 80 dollars to install a new battery. In the end it was higher than the cost quoted by the dealer because dealer installation of new battery was free. I argued and they refunded me a little bit of the difference but I'm sure not thrilled. read more

The kind of auto repair shop you can trust. The only do work that's needed, and don't try to pull the wool over your eyes. And they do GOOD work. Places like this are like gold dust. I always go here, and always recommend Joaquin and Lopez Auto repair. read more

The one thing I hate to do is take a vehicle to a mechanic and say "its making a noise". That is a sure fire recipe for being ripped off. Unfortunately I had no other choice, and when I dropped my truck off for an oil change, I asked them to look into my mystery noise. The very next day my truck has brandy new oil and filters, and my mystery noises is gone, and I wasn't even charged for the repair. I put 100,000 miles a year on a truck and have never found a mechanic, or even an oil change place I was really happy with. After this, they've got my business! read more

My car broke down in the middle of a move in the freezing rain last week. I was distraught and a friend referred to Lopez Automotive. Juan was absolutely amazing and was able to fix my car within a few days. He recognized that I was in pretty desperate need of assistance and was incredibly helpful and kind. I will definitely go back and can't recommend Lopez Automotive highly enough! read more

Initial visit with Joaquin went great. He seemed honest and was really helpful. Brought the car back in to get an estimate once I knew the exact repair needed (got that from dealership) and Joaquin wasn't there. His Dad was. His Dad took several minutes on the computer to 'calculate' the estimate and came up with a price a full $220 OVER the dealership's estimate. I asked him how much he was charging for the part and it was $250 more than I'd seen them at local parts shops. When I asked what it would cost if I brought my own part - he told me the labor price would go way up. I called him a crook and left. Went to Sears at Barton Creek Mall, disappointed that I couldn't support local business. read more

Lopez Auto has honest mechanics and great pricing! They have fixed my Ford truck twice. The first time involved diagnosing and fixing a timing error. They diagnosed it quickly and fixed it right up at the average market price. The second time, my trucks gas pedal got stuck on full while I was on the highway! SCARY stuff. I brought in my truck and it was a very simple problem he fixed for free in 30 minutes! How cool is that! Trustworthy, knowledgeable, honest, they've got my future business and, based on my experiences, they deserve yours :) read more

10 stars for Lopez Auto! Honest, hard working, and great mechanics. I called to have them replace my headlight bulbs (unfortunately my car was manufactured to have the bumper removed to replace the headlights... ridiculous!) and they quoted me the best price in Austin and stuck to that price when I brought it in. Will come back for all my repair needs! Thank you! read more

I've been in Austin for 5 years and gone to multiple mechanics. Lopez Auto Repair is by far the best. They never fail in getting done what needs doing in a timely manner. BUT, The biggest reason I go here boils down to one thing. HONESTY. I don't think that it has ever even crossed Mr. Lopez's mind to rip anyone off. It is a shop of honest, solid mechanics who know what they are doing. What more could you ask for? read more

You know when you're on the side of the road nervously waiting for the tow truck after your car starts smoking on the highway? Well wouldn't it be nice if a kind man approached you to inform you that you were in fact only a few doors away from their garage and they'd be happy to take a look at it for you? Wouldn't it be even better if they fixed your car right then and there and you were able to safely drive home, turning a potentially terrible situation into a happy one? Well, that just happened to me and I'm very grateful. His name is Joaquin and he deserves a cape because he's a hero to me. ‍ Thanks again, friend. read more
