Moderately fast service (estimated 1.5 hours and took 2). So far satisfied with work.

I went to the shop get quotes for spark plug replacement and injector service. I also had a question about a previous charge for work done several months before. I was in the waiting area alone. A person who I'd never met in 4 years plus came in. When I asked about the charge he had no curiosity about the work performed. He immediately told me their rate was $160 per hour and if I didn't like it to go elsewhere. I was shocked. The previous work done was to replace a hose to the windshield washer bin. After the work was done I talked with the mechanic as I know most of them as I was curious about the issue. He explained a broken tube or hose and replaced it. I asked him how long it took to find the issue and replace. He laughed and said no big deal and took 15-20 minutes. I didn't even bother look as the invoice since I had been going there 4+ years. I was charged well over $100 for labor. The "manager" stated he been there since the place opened and told me to leave as he did not want to do business with me. I never raised my voice, used profanity or engaged in any argument. He feigned calling LE to have me removed. I just left. Never said another word. Then in a post by the purported owner claimed that it was about the safety of their employees and customers. This is blatant lie. I've been an elite reviewer for 7 years. It's always my interest to support local businesses and you can even read my previous comments on this business. So here's what's going to happen. I am a disabled veteran and member and past officer of multiple veteran organizations including the VFW,PGR, VVAW and CVMA. I'm going to post my experience with this rude jerk on all social media including NextDoor. I will give the real owner of this business 24 hours to contact and clear it. Since I'm a customer, you have my number. Balls in your court.

The next day I came back for the fuel filters and after an hour of waiting with my truck in the bay, I asked if there was a problem. They said no. Finally, they came 15 minutes later and admitted they didn't have the correct socket and had to send someone to the auto parts store to get it. Bad communication! I would have preferred they were honest with me as I had other appointments I was missing. When they finally got back with the correct tools, it still took a long time to complete the job. Overall I was there almost two hours for fuel filters and most of the time I was the only customer in the shop. They didn't try to make it right... they just said "sorry" and sent me on my way. I have multiple trucks I send here and I'm discontinuing my business.

I called and spoke with John, who was incredibly helpful and confirmed they were open on Sundays. I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived about 30 minutes before closing (they close at 5 PM on Sundays), and they still took me in without hesitation. The team was very careful while working on my Mercedes and made sure everything was done correctly. I was able to watch through the window while they worked, and they took their time to make sure everything was done right and that no mistakes were made. They even checked extra things like my tires, which I really appreciated. After the service, my car ran like a top on my trip out of town. That gave me a lot of confidence. The prices are very reasonable, and they even had a $7 coupon available. Overall, I feel comfortable trusting them with my vehicle and wanted others to know about the good service I received. Thank you to John and the team for helping me out when I really needed it.

I don't know anything about it; I trust them and let them do the most they could in the past, until yesterday. I had a flat tire, and it was not on the side. They told me that I need to get a new tire. The price was higher than in other shops. I negotiated the price down and replaced it. When I was ready to pay, they told me I stripped the wheel stud when I changed the flat tire for a spare. They asked me to replace the wheel stub. The parts are $40, but the service will be $285. I was shocked and told them no. I booked the service at the Cover Jeep Bee Cave, and they put the stub back on with a $0 charge. I am disappointed in what Firestone did to me, and I hope anyone out there will learn from my experience.

I immediately called them, and they told me it was probably because they overfilled it and that the engine was just "burning off excess oil." The smoke never stopped. Soon after, my engine pressure light came on, followed by the check engine light and a loud noise coming from my engine. When my husband checked the oil at home, there was almost no oil in the car at all. We took it back to Firestone, and during that time they never once called me with an update. I had to chase them down, only to be told that there were "no lights on" in my car and that there was, in fact, oil in it. Then, they quoted me over $6,000 to fix a timing chain issue--which their own mistake caused by running my car with no oil. I am now in the middle of a claim with them and hiring an attorney to take further action. Throughout this process, Manuel and Clay (in the shop) and Jillian (in the claims department) have been rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. This experience has been beyond frustrating, and I would never recommend this location to anyone

It's a small place but seems quite equipped to manage a lot of car issues, and the gentleman who did my inspection that day (Charlie) was the sole person doing them, so he was cranking through a list of folks. They put your name on the clipboard when you arrive and just go straight down that list. I'd called beforehand to confirm their hours and theyd advised to come early so I came around 9a or so. I think the wait was about 15-20 mins? Really wasn't bad, I just fiddled with my phone and sat in my car. The actual inspection was also pretty fast, like 10 mins or maybe even a bit less. I appreciated the efficiency. Of note they do charge a 3% credit card fee. A lot of places do that nowadays, but that was really the only "surprise." They also offer a basic inspection ($12, basics to renew car reg) or a more thorough one for $18 where they check your wipers and lights etc.

Every once in a while, Austin reminds you why you fell in love with it in the first place--and…read moresurprisingly, this time it happened during an oil change. Let's be real: getting your oil changed usually ranks somewhere between "waiting at the DMV" and "realizing you forgot your charger at home." But Lube Pit Stop on South Lamar managed to turn it into the best oil change experience I've ever had in this city. And I don't say that lightly. From the moment I pulled in, the vibe was pure old-school Austin--friendly, unpretentious, and refreshingly human. No corporate script. No forced smiles. Just genuinely kind, courteous folks who seem to actually care about the people driving through their bays. Here's what really stood out: No upselling. None. Zero. Zilch. No "while we're at it..." scare tactics. No mystery fluids that suddenly must be replaced. Just honest work, clearly explained. Quick and efficient. I barely had time to scroll Yelp before they were done. In and out without feeling rushed or overlooked--an impressive balance. Kindness across the board. The entire team was polite, professional, and approachable in a way that feels increasingly rare. It wasn't flashy--it was sincere. And here's the kicker: when I drove away, I felt good. No second-guessing. No lingering "did I just get taken?" anxiety. Just the calm confidence that comes from dealing with people who do their job well and don't try to squeeze every extra dollar out of you. They also do state inspections, which is officially the cherry on top. One stop, no nonsense, handled by people you trust? That's a win in Austin traffic math. This is the kind of local business you root for. The kind you tell your friends about. The kind that quietly becomes your place without you even realizing it. Lube Pit Stop is officially who I'll be using from now on--and honestly, I hope they never change a thing. Highly recommend. Old Austin energy. Solid service. Zero BS.
