Stay away! After getting my car's issue diagnosed at this shop, I asked for an estimate 3 times and never got it. Made payment on diagnosis, asked for my keys. He said he lost them. He looked for my keys for 3 days. He refused to give me a timeline on replacing my keys and instead made excuses and was combative. After the replacement key was made, I tried to pick up my car twice but couldn't get the keys from him. 9 days after making payment, he left the key in the wheel well in an unattended lot overnight for me to retrieve. I took my 2012 Grand Cherokee in for an overheating engine/water pump replacement. I texted Joe in the morning, had a phone consult a couple hours later, dropped the car off by the afternoon, and had it back and repaired by the next day at 5pm. The price was very reasonable and he let me use my own oil filter I had already purchased, which I appreciated! Needed some work done on my car. Took it here at a recommendation from a friend. Joe was responsive, quoted me a hell of a lot less than the corporate auto shop shits, and had the parts ready to go when I dropped off my vehicle yesterday morning. His wife even took me back home after I dropped my car off, saving me a $25 Lyft ride! My car was ready when he said it'd be ready, and at the price he quoted me. I tried my best DIY approach on replacing a cracked taillight assembly and was able to get it off but couldn't get the new one on. I needed it done quickly and to not get gouged on price. My wife is wheelchair-disabled due to a car crash. I was laid off two weeks ago. We live in the country; no taxis, no buses. As luck would have it, our only car began misfiring three days ago. I called several auto-repair shops and was told the car would require a full tune-up and the cost is between 350 and 550 dollars. They refused to discuss doing anything less. As I continued searching Google, I came across "Joe the Mechanic" in Dripping Springs Texas. This man will probably never know how much he helped us. He replaced all the spark plugs and the PCV valve, cleaned all the coils and adjusted things. I am not an auto technician so please excuse my lack of knowledge. The bill was exactly what the estimate was, he repaired the problem and no more, and we could not be happier. As a responsible business owner, he did tell us what else our car would need in the near future, but he never pressured us to get it fixed right away. How refreshing! I highly recommend this honest young man to anyone who is tired of being ripped off by their mechanic. Joe was great. I was driving across the country and my check oil light came on, I went to Jiffy Lube to top off and check the oil. They said the oil level was good and I just needed coolant so they topped me off and let me go. The light came on again a little bit later and something didn't feel right so I stopped at Joe's so they can take a look. He was very friendly and asked how he could help and I told him my dilemma. Joe is honest and informs me of what issues my vehicles have. His rates I believe are a bit lower than other car shops in the area. He has always done very good work on our vehicles. It is a bit hard to find him on Hwy 290 because his Sign has green on red and seems to blend. Other than that it would be worth your while to give Joe an opportunity to work on your vehicle. We took our 1985 Land Cruiser in for Ac repair. We had it previously worked on by another company only to have it go out. Joe got our ac going, basically rebuilt it for a fraction of the cost we had spent elsewhere. He guaranteed his work and call the next business day to make sure it was still going strong. Joe is one of those guys you read about from years ago when you could shake a man's hand and trust his word. He works hard to fix your car at the best price. He saved us $500 when we could have taken it to the dealership but I'm glad we got word about Joe before we spent that money. We weren't sure who to take it to and who to trust but we went along with the suggestion to use Joe. The driveshaft on my suburban sheared in half. I'm a DIY kind of guy, but I got fed up on this one and started looking for a mechanic. Joe the mechanic is just down the road from my house so I decided to give him a call. From the first call I was sold. He took time to discuss the problem with me and listen to everything I had tried. Once i dropped it off and he had time to look at it, Joe informed me that the replacement driveshaft I had purchased was not the correct size. He helped me track down a used part to save some money. He called and kept me up to speed on how the repair was coming along. He was honest and up front about every aspect of the job. Joe saved us $9000 by diagnosing our engine problems. We had taken our Expedition to 2 other mechanics and neither could figure out what was causing it to miss. They both said we needed a new engine. After letting it sit in our driveway for a month we were ready to have it replaced so we took it to Joe and said "fix it if you can or replace the engine". Best experience with a mechanic ever!! My transmission had gone out in my 2002 Toyota Highlander five months before I had planned to get a new vehicle. After reviewing the issue, Joe consulted with a transmission specialist to make sure they both agreed with the diagnosis--I needed a new transmission. The next morning Joe called me to tell me he wasn't satisfied with that answer and he wanted to do more research to make sure. He went above and beyond and found a solution that he felt had a great chance of working at a fraction of the cost of a new transmission. It did! Regardless of how the transmission worked out, Joe kept my wife and I informed on a timely basis, met the timetable he said, and was extremely reasonable in his pricing.
