Appalling abuse of a female driver!…read more The indicator on my girlfriend's Audi A4 was showing a low tire pressure on the driver's side rear tire. She stopped at this station to ask them to check her tires. She said a few attendants came out to her car. They added some air and then asked if she needed gas. She mentioned that the oil indicator showed adding a quart. They opened the hood (off course Audis do not have dipsticks) so they could not check it. They told her she shouldn't add any oil. The men charged her $79.11 for gas. 12.69 gallons at $6.295 a gallon. Outrageous upcharge! This was over $2.00 more per gallon than any other Shell station in Austin. I checked the tires when she got home and they didn't even fill them to the recommended tire pressures. On top of that the did not replace a custom tire valve tip on her car. We will have to purchase a new set.

I'm glad to say that other reviews were right on concerning Travis and the service that he and his guys offer. My car failed inspection at a Lamb's auto center due to a power steering hose leak, and they tried to up-sell me a new pump and flush that I did not need. Travis checked it out, verified that the pump was not leaking, replaced the hose and saved me about $70. Most importantly, they are friendly and operate with an "old school" style of service. I'll definitely give them more business and refer friends to them.

Strange, because there's a Shell across the street that's actually easier to get into. I filled my tank, and pre-purchased a carwash. At $10, you're definite paying for convenience, there's no one vacuuming for you. But it made sense. I pulled up to the little box and followed the instructions to use a card, insert cash or code. Nothing. Truck in front of me finishes, so I pull in. Nothing. Go inside the store. I'm smiling and not the least bit annoyed, but the young man at the cash register was no friend. No smiled greeting. I told him the car wash wouldn't work for me, described the situation. I thought to include that a truck was there when I pulled up. In an excited voice he exclaimed "there are two signs there telling you not to insert code until the bay is empty!" I calmly explain I saw no such sign. He responds "what do you want to do?" "I'd like a car wash, please". He sighs, prints another receipt and upon handing it to me, says (yes, others were in the store) "follow the instructions this time". Yep, he did. I won't go back.
