Aloha Poké bowl with sauce on the side
    Katie W.

I was in town all week on business, and tried a few different healthy restaurants. Honest Mary's was the absolute standout! The service was friendly and fast. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the vibe was modern and relaxing. I ordered the Aloha Poké bowl, it did not even need the dressing. The flavors keep together beautifully. Next time in Austin, this will be a staple.

Happy to have y'all in the Mueller neighborhood, and I'm definitely excited to be a regular. An allergy-friendly and healthy food option has been sorely lacking from the area, and Honest Mary's is definitely a very tasty player for filling that niche. I've already been in twice since their opening, and both bowls have been fantastic. Both Poke and Chicken protein options are delicious, and the topping options are both fresh and innovative. I've been adding the gremolata, which I find very interesting. Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options available. The staff were very knowledgeable with answering any questions I had, which is a GREAT sign -- being trained so well so quickly. I attended their grand opening event as well, and they really know how to kick things off with a burst of enthusiasm. I wish them well and look forward to many pleasant lunches in the coming months and years.

Attended Honest Mary's grand opening and I'm sure glad that we have this new addition to the Mueller area! There is both indoor and outdoor seating-- the interior looks very minimalistic and clean with purchaseable merch. Both times I've been to Honest Mary's, the employees have been extremely knowledgeable to my questions. Their menu includes signature bowls as well as the option to build your own. The first bowl I got at the grand opening included sweet potatoes, edamame, avocado, chicken, arugula, and lemon herb yogurt. The second bowl is black rice, tofu, squash, slaw, and cauliflower. Both times the protein tasted warm so I know they were not left on the counter for too long. Can't wait to come by again to try one of their Signature Bowls!

I'm always looking for more healthful restaurants, but we all have different health needs. So many "healthy" restaurants end up being high carb and low protein, and Honest Mary's is no different. So it's not high high carb, but it's not high high protein either. I try to eat high protein, with limited processed carbs. Of course we can pay extra for more protein, but the protein choices were a little limited - no cheesy cheeses (only feta and goat cheese) and no salmon, tuna, bacon, or other meat and dairy that lend a lot of flavor to our veggies. Fortunately, we can customize our bowls, which makes up for a lot of the disappointment. So many other restaurants leave you stuck with things you don't want to eat, in order to get the things you want. There was none of this here! I meant to be good and get spinach as my base, but I was curious to try the farro even though it's a higher carb grain. They let me do part farro and part spinach as my base. Once I was doing that kind of thing, I also asked for half beef, half chicken, which they were cool with. After that, I stopped the special requests. There were lots of veggies that I wanted to try, and my bowl turned out pretty good. Still, it didn't quite satisfy me, and I ended up overeating later, because I was still craving more. My friend planned for a group of five of us ladies to meet here for a healthy birthday brunch this past Sunday. We had the place to ourselves when we got there at 11, and so ordering went quickly and smoothly. We ended up staying and talking for a long long time, but there were enough other empty seats that we didn't seem to be imposing on them. One of the staff members was kind enough to take our picture! I'm sure I'll be back, because my friends love this place. As long as I temper my expectations, I can get a decent meal here too.

This was my first time at an Honest Mary's. This location was so nice! The interior was clean and it was in a walkable area with plenty of street/garage paid parking. We went at 1:45pm on Monday and it wasn't crowded at all. We walk right up to order. I got a build your own bowl with rice, quinoa, spinach, chicken, mushrooms, broccoli, cucumber and goat cheese. I love the wide variety of toppings especially the goat cheese! The chicken was good but could be seasoned a little more. I did come across a tendon or something rough but that's okay. The lemon garlic dressing was delicious and complimented all the flavors well. Next time I'll probably swap out the broccoli for another option. The mushrooms were really yummy! Since this was my first time the menu was a little confusing since I didn't realize all the categories had quantity limitations. I might have prioritized a crunchy topping instead of the ones I got.

I ordered mine with a soft scrambled and lowkey I should've gotten the sunny side up eggs. The brisket was moist and not salty like other brisket I have had. Along with the grits on the bottom, it was creamy and light. Overall a great dish. Blood Orange Lalo-ma- on a hot day in Texas, this is a must have! Had not been to this restaurant in a good while, and was a last minute decision. Good choice. The whipped feta is always a treat -- light and creamy with a solid feta taste, but not overpowering, served with a few orange slices and thinly sliced almonds, and pita. Special dish! Beet salad excellent, but the Fresno peppers had way too much heat, so pushed them to side. My wife had the Moroccan curry, which had a very spot on Moroccan flavor (been there 3x), and was a large, filling portion so brought home leftovers. I had the grilled pork chop which was large, perfectly grill with a tasty bourbon-based glaze, served with a large roasted garlic clove. Wonderful dish. The standout was the Brussel sprouts...crispy with this absolutely delicious drizzle. I ordered the Mezze plate with a flavor explosion and many desirable texture. It had lamb kabobs, fresh salad (emphasis on fresh) with thinly sliced cucumbers, finely sliced onions and creamy feta (never had creamy feta), red round sweet peppers, hummus with the most delightful pesto like sauce, and olives. Izzy was our server and we had a great experience. I love that for a Michelin star location it can be luxurious without being stuffy, For appetizers we had the flautas which are the best crisp, full of flavor with an amazing broth. We also ordered the craw fish (essentially empanadas) and they were... okay, too heavy and the peas just did not do anything for the dish. For entrees we went with their shrimp à la plancha and their meatballs. Both were delicious. The pickles and the sauce paired to well with the meatballs and the shrimp were full of flavor and the crisp of the potatoes added a nice touch. Instead of a cocktail I tried their local limeade a sparkling delight! They also have a very cool store front where you can get all kinds of meats and coffee and signed books by the main chef. I would have tried the food as well, but I had dinner plans elsewhere and it's a little pricey so I didn't get anything. That said, the guy next to me got one of their steaks and said it was one of the best he'd had, so that's high praise! I got a small glass (like 2 ounces) of the mead which is $5. It's expensive for how little you get but the flavor is just lovely -- as good as any dessert wine I've had! I could definitely drink a glass of it any time. They have lots of tables inside but the parking is a little limited outside. The day I came there was plenty because it was early and it was still pretty empty inside (just one or two other groups there), but on a busy night I imagine you'd end up having to get street parking nearby or something. Bathrooms were immaculate in here though, and the ambiance is nice! Not "super fancy," but definitelty more upscale than casual. Overall it strikes me as a nice date spot! A little expensive, but I'm sure the food is great, and can confirm the drinks are definitely very nice.
