Went here for a healthy dinner with Lauren B. It was a pre-workout class dinner, so we wanted something healthy, nourishing and not too heavy. Honest Mary's fit the bill. It was hosting a school fundraiser that night, so it was a bit more crowded and lively than we would have liked, but the food was good and the staff were helpful. I went for the Sedona Lime bowl. It includes Basmati rice, spinach, black beans, sweet potatoes, pumpkin seeds, cashew lime crema sauce (so good!) and a lime wedge. The flavors all blended well together and it was just enough to make me full, but not overly so. The seating area was bright and clean. It has been a while since I have dined at Honest Mary's. First, let me just say I rarely give two star ratings however, Honest Mary's was deserving of this rating. First, when I was deciding on my bowl one of the appealing ingredients was avocado. One of the servers gave me avocado that was brown, which apparently had oxidized. When I asked for fresh avocado, she gave me some fresh avacado.. She acted as though she was annoyed by my request. So I grabbed my bowl to sit down to eat. Then while eating I noticed the overflowing trashcan. At this juncture. I didn't want it anymore because I felt like cleanliness was not a priority at Honest Mary's, So before leaving I went to use the restroom. Much to my surprise, he restroom trashcan was overflowing with trash as well. One thing that was super clear to me is that cleanliness is not a top priority for Honest Mary's. When I pointed out to one of the servers that their trashcan in the main dining room was overflowing, she retorted, "we've been very busy. We'll get to it." Running errands today and felt a little hungry. I stopped into Honest Mary's. I did get an email stating their new farro bowl, and wanted to try it. I walked up to the counter, said I'd like the farro bowl. She asked what protein I wanted. I decided on the tofu. She made my bowl pretty quick. I paid for the meal, found an empty table and started in. The farro bowl comes with mushrooms, pumpkin seeds, carrots, and spinach. The dressing is good. I think it was a little watered down though. Tofu wasn't marinated or anything, just a plain flavor. The farro bowl was good. Like to try something else next time. read more

On the recommendation of a friend, i decided to give Honest Mary's a try, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Mediterranean Harissa bowl topped with Ahi Tuna. Along with the meal, I had Green Yaopon Iced Tea. The meal was delicious and full of flavor. It was quite filling but lite enough that I didn't feel uncomfortable after eating the meal. The tuna was raw, so it sort of made the meal a poke bowl. I would consider this restaurant in one of the healthier choices. The service is all done at the counter. However, the tables were clean as well as the restroom. There are shared tables and small tables for 2 inside the restaurant. There is also outdoor seating. The parking lot is shared by several businesses and is adequate to accommodate all of Honest Mary's patrons. The food quality is good. The salmon and avocado is fresh and delicious. The sauces that came with it was really yummy too. The only thing I can complain about is that the bowl is not really full. They have bowls that one can put together themselves or they have bowls already suggested on their menu. They have spinach and cucumber salad and carrots and hummus and edamame and grilled chicken and steak, Forbidden rice, and the list goes on. I got a wonderful miso salad. When I asked to remove the jalapeños, they said I could replace it with anything I wanted, so I opted to replace it with cucumber salad. It was a wonderful meal. I was also able toget my favorite water, which is rainwater made in Austin, Texas! They have many healthy drinks to choose from. They also have some healthy candy that you can get on the way out. They have seating indoors and outdoors. I absolutely loved my lunch. I wish I lived closer to Austin just to eat at this restaurant! I have been a loyal patron of Honest Mary's Arboretum since it opened in 2017. I am not exaggerating when I say I've had hundreds of bowls from there. I am a big fan!! I love it, and have turned so many friends and family onto it. The staff is always kind and friendly, the portions are good and I love the healthy options! Why 4 out of 5 stars? I'd say of the last ~50 bowls, 48 of them have contained roasted sweet potatoes that I can only describe as rock hard. Completely al dente. So hard, in fact, that I can't distinguish if I bit into a carrot or a sweet potato, as I get both in my bowl. The first few times I thought it was an off week. The next few times I was annoyed. All of the times since then, I don't know if I'm more baffled at the consistency of the al dente prep or by my willingness to keep ordering them. Fool me twice, shame on me situation. I literally am writing my first Yelp review at nearly 1am to beg you all to cook them longer. I'm at the point where I'm considering other places because of how poorly the sweet potatoes are cooked. Was around the area and wanted a healthy and light lunch. Went it and tried their poblano bowl. Not to be rude but it was a super dry. No sauce or condiment or any kind. Just a small scoop of goat cheese. I wasn't very impressed the flavors were very so so. When you have dry basmati rice as a base for anything you need something on the side so doesn't make you feel like your having bird food. You can add protein to the bowl but honestly don't think chicken or tofu would have made a big difference. The cucumber lime Fresca was refreshing so I'll give them 1 star for that. I noticed that the signature bowls that already have ingredients picked is less expensive than building your own, so next time l will do that. There is a lot of seating indoors and long tables. The sauce really makes a difference in the taste of the food. Get the spicy garlic peanut one (looks orange) and you won't regret it. The green sauce I got tasted a bit like Trader Joe's Green Goddess and didn't have as much flavor, but other than that this is a must-visit place if you're into healthy and guilt-free clean eating.
