It's been over a year since my last meal here so I'm reviewing for today's visit: Crab bisque was not very good, saltier, and heavy on color. Halibut & Chips batter (fish & chips) was undercooked but the fish was flaky and cooked well. Not crazy about their version of tartar sauce either. The star here was the Cilantro lime salad is still as good as I recall. Heirloom tomato burrata, crab mac & cheese had a pretty generous amount of crab meat but this one is leaving the menu. They are revamping the menu soon. Wild salmon with couscous was good tho a bit on the well done side. Server/ service was perfect! read more

What a nice restaurant at the back of Nordstrom! From the parking garage, you go to the elevator or escalator, up to the 2nd floor, and walk to the opposite side. There is a good amount of tables and there were only a few tables taken when I went on a weekday night, so it's the perfect spot if you want to get dinner at the Domain with a guaranteed table and a quiet atmosphere to chat. Not sure if the outdoor area was an option, but the view of the street looked quite nice. There is a good selection of dishes, from soups to salads to pasta to pizza. You could definitely come here for both a light or a heavier meal. Prices are standard to the Domain, around $20+. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was actually tasty too! I got the chicken pasta rossa. The portions are solid as well. The latest to order food at the restaurant is 8pm on a weekday, but it technically closes at the same time as Nordstrom (9pm). Amidst the crowds and noise of the shopping district sits a cool cocktail bar with a great balcony; a perfect place to take a pause. I wasn't planning on walking all over the Domain in heels so when I finally got to Nordstrom, I was grinding my teeth. I dropped in to Bazille around 3 pm for a cocktail and a break. The service was a little slow so know what you want when the server arrives. I chose The Last Flight Out cocktail and the bruschetta with ricotta spread. I am still dreaming of that bruschetta and can't wait to go back, without the heels! read more

Bazille is hidden inside the Nordstorm mall. It is in the second floor. I work at Domain, opposite to Nordstorm and didn't even know this place existed. This would be a good place to go for lunch. It was less crowded, almost no one at 11:30 pm. We were seated outside and the view was good, with a nice weather. They had lots of different Italian dish varieties. They had sandwiches and burgers as well. I got the meatball pasta. It was good. Not the best I have tasted, but it wasn't bad at all. Their fries were also good. Price was affordable. They give a small chocolate along with your receipt at the end, which was a nice way to end the meal. read more

I don't know why I haven't reviewed prior. But, I dislike this particular location. It would have been one-star if not for the server who tried to make things better. Everyone knows that Nordstrom is dog-friendly, as are their cafes. However, on a last visit, I had a manager approach me several times about my little fur guy. Advising he couldn't be there, and if I insisted he be there he must be under the table on the floor. Like, what?!? Do you know how many Nordstrom eateries Sir Benjamin has been to? And how many he is treated like royalty at? NOT HERE. He is a rescue, afraid of so much and we take him everywhere with us. Once in awhile, he gets really scared and will hop up on my lap. That's what happened here. And each time I was putting him back on the floor, the manager approached again to tell me to do it. All this did was scare Sir B. into wanting to hop back on my lap. This place is actually really nice. The food is really good and it's always pretty empty in here. I got the French onion soup and it was delicious. The cheese melted on top was perfect and there's lots of onions. I also tried the burrata which was good as well. It came with pesto and fresh tomato's-- the bread was little dry but overall it was good. The menu is very up to date with popular foods which I enjoyed. Ordered a Caesar salad with extra dressing and received no dressing whatsoever. Not a mistake you can laugh off. This was a completely dry salad. At that point, it's just lettuce cosplaying as lunch. I didn't realize until I walked all the way back to work, which meant no fix, no remake, just me eating disappointment while hangry. I add one bite and I put my fork down. Paying Nordstrom prices for something this careless is wild. I did speak to a manager afterward, and while she wanted to help make it right, the damage was already done. Lunch was ruined, time was wasted, and the trust is gone. Unfortunately, that's not something a redo fixes. For a restaurant attached to a brand built on "details matter," this level of oversight is embarrassing. Checking a to go bag especially when a specific request like extra dressing is made should be the bare minimum. read more

I want to say that I consider this place a hidden gem. Parking at Nordstrom's is easy. In the Nordstrom's parking garage. The food is always pretty great with a good selection. The service is very friendly and the majority of the time they are not very crowded. So for a beautiful setting, especially outdoors on the deck, easy access and being able to get in without last-minute reservations. I don't think there's a better place in the domain. read more

Came here for a Friday night dinner with the boyfriend and it was a pleasant find! I had no idea there was a restaurant inside Nordstrom, and a "fancy" one at that! We came on a rainy evening and at first had trouble finding it, until I realized that if it wasn't on the first floor, it would have to be on the second floor lol. Once seated, I was happy to see they had plenty of warm dishes to choose from. I went with the portabello mushroom ravioli and my boyfriend got the french onion soup. We shared the brussels sprouts, which we were able to order without bacon. Overall, the food was rich, flavorful, and nicely presented. The prices were also affordable for what was offered, and food came out in a timely manner! For a Friday night, it wasn't that crowded. Maybe because a lot of people don't know about it yet... Stopped by Bazille yesterday for a quick happy hour with one of my co-workers and I'm so glad we did. We arrived around 4:30pm with zero wait and were seated immediately. We really wanted to sit outside since it has a great view of The Domain, but the humidity/heat was a bit too much ...so we sat at a table right against the window and still had a great view. From what I recall, Happy Hour prices for food & alkie ranged anywhere between $7 - 14. I definitely recommend getting the Cucumber Cooler, its super refreshing and has a bit of sweetness which is exactly what I wanted. My co-worker got the Weekend Getaway which interestingly has egg whites and she loved it...so their drinks seem to be on point. For the food ,we ordered their Spinach artichoke dip and their burger. The spinach artichoke dip was fantastic so I highly recommend ..as for the burger, it was just ok. It tasted a bit bland to be honest. Overall appearance of the restaurant is modern, clean and airy, and I really love their outdoor balcony. I'm even wondering if their entire balcony can be reserved for a small private event?? Some feedback I'm hoping that will be considered is offering a few more food items to your Happy Hour menu, as I only saw 3 items, but otherwise I had a great experience and looking forward to my next visit :) read more

This is probably one of the most underrated "hidden" places in the Domain. When I came here with friends, I was like "I'm pretty sure I've been here before" and then realized yes, I came to a yelp elite event here a few years ago. I met up some friends here for lunch and we got some starters to share and some sandwiches. The crispy calamari was one of my favorites and the burrata was really good too. I got the french dip and was very happy with my decision. The crab salad was also very refreshing and had good chunks of lump crab. Lunch service was great and there's indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks the Domain. Don't knock it cause it's inside a Nordstrom, definitely put this on your list of places to eat next time you're in the Doamin. read more

I don't hand out 5 stars often but when I do, it's for places like this. I got the salmon and couscous which came with heirloom tomatoes and diced cucumber-wtf this sh*t was incredible! The salmon was seared on both sides and so tasty on the inside; why was it tasty? Because the salmon is wild-caught! All of this greatness for $25. Ok, seriously this place has captured my heart. From the first time I ate in a Cafe in a Nordstrom until now. This location offers ample covered parking in a garage (located behind Nordstrom) which offers covered parking right into the store. Bazille is located upstairs, to the back of the store (facing the Domain). Seating is plentiful, and you have the options of the dining room, bar top, bar area or the outdoor patio. Staff is friendly, the menu albeit is small, offers some great options and they have a stellar Happy Hour menu. On my recent visit I enjoyed the "Crab, Mango & Avocado Salad", ($17.75) which was topped with a generous portion of cold crab meat. The lettuce to crab ratio was on point, the Mangos were fresh (not canned) and the Avocado was perfectly soft and creamy. I also enjoyed their Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette dressing, which thankfully was not over-powering. The salad also came with a toasted baguette, which turned out to be two pieces of bread that were clearly Ciabatta, that had been placed on an electric grill. Not a fan of the bread, but the salad more than made up for that. My dining companions ordered (& ENJOYED) the "Cilantro Lime Shrimp" salad ($18.75) and the "Halibut & Chips". Both looked delicious and I would definitely order them in the future. I was especially impressed with the amount of Halibut that comes with the entree ($21). The cafe in Nordstrom is NOT the same cafe that you might recall in the back of KMart. If you have not been here, you should give it a try. read more

When I'm shopping at Nordstrom, I absolutely have to make a stop at Bazille. The service is usually pretty slow, it it often takes a while to be greeted, but the food is awesome, and the drinks are to die for. And once you are actually served, service is much more smoothe. If you want faster service, sit at the bar. My kid often orders the tortellini from the kids menu, and will follow with one of their desserts. I typically order The Best Part of French Onion Soup. It is on their appetizer list and it is my favorite thing on the menu. read more

Ok-First I'm starting this review with dessert-it's that Good!!!! I detest bread pudding- it's either a soggy bite or dry as a bone. This is the most delicious dessert I have enjoyed...EVER!! I can't even describe the luscious, silky yet light texture. My daughter described it as French Toast on Steroids. Take a close look! A decadent pyramid like shape-is that raspberry coulees and a creamy white chocolate sauce? Yep, warm and inviting-the fresh whipped cream and beautiful whole fresh raspberries with little mint leaves push it up and over the top-yes we eat first with our eyes but you'll have to exercise extreme self control not to embarrass yourself by licking the plate! It's great to have "an experience" when enjoying a meal out or even just a coffee or drink. Nordstrom's cafes are that for me. I used to go Christmas shopping at Barton Creek mall once a year with a dear friend. We would always have a delicious lunch at the cafe in Nordstrom. She moved away to Montana, so the opportunity to go hasn't been there. The other day, I was shopping at the Nordstrom in the Domain, and decided to treat myself to a small bite and a drink. I had the crab bisque with a salad, and the non-alcoholic berry crush. All were delicious. The great thing about the Nordstrom cafes is that they are typically quieter than restaurants in malls. Also, the cafes are clean which is very important to me. Of course, the prices are higher, but the food is well-prepared and the service is generally excellent. Enjoy! read more

This restaurant is located inside the Nordstrom store. Think of it as a beefed up cafe. It has a full bar and similar menu to other Nordstrom cafe's. It still has the cafeteria feel to it. What a nice restaurant in Nordstrom! My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and we had a great time. The menu is a little limited for me, but they have some good choices. My husband absolutely loved their chicken sandwich and I enjoyed my spicy shrimp pomodoro. Their portion sizes were perfect, I was full, but not stuffed. The service was great! My first visit to Bazille, and I was disappointed in the citrus shrimp salad. The shrimp were over cooked and dry and there were way too many tortilla strips on top. It was also a little too small. This is a nice restaurant spot somewhat hidden within Nordstrom. They take reservations and while they've never been too busy when I've gone, I'd still recommend reserving if you definitely want to eat here. There is a good variety on the menu and everything I've had here has been consistent and good. The service can sometimes be slow, but that hasn't been a huge issue when I've eaten here as I've not been on a schedule. The potato soup is flavorful and smooth. The burgers are flavorful and filling, especially with a side of their yummy fries. The desserts are really good - I've had the apple crostada with ice cream (YUM - good amount of apples and cinnamon) and the brownie is also quite delicious (although somewhat rich). This is certainly a place I've been to more than once and would return to. read more

Pre-note, salads have never my thing, I skip the salads when looking at a menu, never thought it was "real" food. My friends know I don't eat salads. I am giving 5 stars to a salad! Something I never imagine doing! I don't eat salads and I definitely don't eat cilantro but I ordered the cilantro lime shrimp salad. I saw grilled corn in the description and I wanted shrimp so I ordered this salad thinking I can just hold the cilantro vinaigrette and eat a little of the greens. Plus I ordered a crab bisque. First, the crab bisque was really good, I only ordered a cup because I wasn't sure I'd like it. It was quite delicious. There weren't chunks of crab in it, there were tiny bits but the flavor was there. Very perfectly seasoned for my taste. Ordering a whole bowl next time! I don't have high expectations for salads, I have been disappointed 99% of the time. I took a bite and the cilantro (vinaigrette) didn't hit the sensor that tells my brain to tell my mouth to spit it out or I'll puke. Yes, that's my reaction to eating cilantro even the tiniest bit. Maybe there weren't any cilantro in the vinaigrette?? But I ate that entire salad (minus the tomatoes) and even asked for a little more vinaigrette. This place was somewhere I avoided for a long time . When it opened the food was sub par for it's price tag and they where short staffed so you got bad service . Well one of the two has dramatically improved . I had a hunch I should just give it another shot as we where shopping at Nordstrom's today and saw a rather huge line . I figured either people didn't want to walk to another place in the rain like us or it actually serves good food now . As we sat down we actually had to wait like 10 Minutes before our waitress asked us what we wanted to drink so we put in an order for a crab bisque bowl as an appetizer to share and our kids food all at the same time . Then the waitress took another ten minutes to bring our drinks. She said your soup will be out soon and I'll have some bread come out meanwhile . As we waited patiently trying to be understanding about how busy the place is some people sit in the table rite next to us . Within a couple minutes the table next to us get their drinks and our waitress brings them bread and butter . She then takes our main order which was steak and frites plus a French dip sandwich. She then turns goes in the kitchen and comes back to take the table next to ours order . Here we are literally 25 minutes in and don't have our appetizer nor the bread that she promised and our kids are getting fussy . So you can imagine how it kinda felt like a slap in the face to see that she is capable of great service just not with us . Within a few more minutes another employee brings out a fried calamari appetizer to the table next to us but still no kids pasta ,crab bisque nor bread in site for our table . As I'm about to say something our waitress nonchalantly walks out with our kids food the bisque and some bread meanwhile the table next to us asks for their second helping of bread and like the flash she turns the corner shuffles around for a second like it's basically on the other side of the wall four feet away and brings them bread within the same minute . At this point I'm just happy to have the soup but not 15 minutes on the dot another wonderful surprise , she then brings the table next to us their food . One dish being a sandwich and the other a grilled salmon . Why does that matter? ? ? Well ! Because we had a small 6oz steak and French dip sandwich that takes just about the same time to make as grilled Salomon and a sandwich ! For some reason our meals where still not out . This is after the table next to us not only arrived ten to twelve minutes after we did but we ordered before there table did . Now I'm thinking what did I do for her to treat us like we don't matter? I'd been polite and hadn't said one thing as far as how long things where taking . On the other hand the Crab bisque was outstanding , I mean it's something I will always get as an appetizer when I go it's that good . Sad the service isn't as good though . Finally at the 55ish minute mark our French dip and 6oz filet steak and frites finally comes out . All I can say is wow it was way better than I ever suspected from this place . My wife absolutely enjoyed the heck out of her sandwich and my steak was perfect . So all I can say is please hire more wait staff , I chalk it up to her being overwhelmed . The entire place had two waitresses to the whole restaurant . Maybe then the service will be as good as the food . I will definitely be back as I really enjoyed the food and i highly recommend a cup of crab bisque or a bowl if anyone is going to taste it because after one taste they won't be able to stop . Follow that up with a steak and frites and I promise you will have an amazing tasting meal . Honestly it would be a worse rating if the food was really bad and service was great , when they can improve the service this place will definitely deserve the full five stars . read more

I've been visiting the bazille for years now and finally came to yelp to share my experience on this gem of a restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful and has a stunning balcony to enjoy your meal on a sunny Austin day. The food is very consistent, although may have some inconsistency when there are staff changes around here but overall is very reliable in service and quality. I recently visited on Sunday and was serviced by Lupita, she is a killer server! The restaurant was busy when I stopped by (around 3pm) and she still managed to keep everyone happy despite being a server for (what looked like) the whole restaurant floor. If I had to complain about anything is that they run out of their French dip sandwich too often it's so delicious and while lupita broke the bad news to me she did recommended the chef featured birria sandwich which was a great second choice. I also wanted to give a shoutout to Rosa as well! While she wasn't my server this time around, she is always saying hi to me and makes my stay more welcoming. I did not know that there was a restaurant inside Nordstrom! What a great surprise! Staff was very nice! Our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I am gluten free and he mentioned they could basically adapta almost anything to my needs. That's really great to hear!! I decided for the salad and it was spot on! Fresh ingredients, seasoned well and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The capers and olives keep it on the salty side, which for me is perfect! Surprisingly, a lot better than expected! Ordered the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad and the Shrimp Chitarra Pasta. Everything in the salad was fresh, cilantro lime vinaigrette dressing was delicious. Corn, tortilla chips, and cheese really added to the salad as well. Pasta was nice and cooked perfectly with a little spice to it. Fresh cherry tomatoes to add a little tartness. Nice open view of the kitchen to see the chefs and everything, looks extremely professional so you know they aren't worried about hiding anything. I've always loved that layout of restaurants. Overall, food was a 5-star. Price wise, this isn't for everyone. Nordstrom is known for being upscale, and these are upscale prices. Salad for $18.50 and pasta for $21.25, each with 5 pieces of average sized shrimp (but not tiny by any means). This restaurant located on the second floor of Nordstrom in the Domain, hard to see anyone coming here to a department store specifically to eat. WHO KNEW there was a legit restaurant inside the Nordstrom at the Domain? Well now I do and everyone I talked to this week. I came to Bazille for a yelp elite event where we got to try a few items paired with wine. The wine was very good and every was paired well. I would trust them to pair anything I ordered. The standout item for me was the French onion soup. If you're a fan of french onion soup, you won't be disappointed. Somehow they've figured out how to keep the bread firm even after its impregnated with soup. The white chocolate bread puddding was also very good but what really caught my eye was a GIANT SLICE of chocolate cake that some patrons who weren't part of our event were enjoying. Nice restaurant in Nordstrom. I went during Hour Hour on a Friday. Seated right away and the food came out within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the Beef Braised tacos which were delicious along with edamame. The tacos come with a jalapeño sauce on it. Luckily I decided to get it on the side because boy was that sauce hot!
