While most visitors gravitate toward the energy of Rock Rose Avenue, this hidden gem sits just one street over, inside the lobby of the Aloft Hotel. If you don't know it's there, it's easy to miss. Stepping inside feels like walking into a stylish, oversized living room. A sleek bar lines one side of the space, while comfortable modern living room furniture occupies the center of the room. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between chic sophistication and laid-back fun, with clean architectural lines, modern décor, and dim lighting that creates an inviting ambiance. During our visit, we learned that the longtime bartender had recently moved on and been replaced by Sydney, who was absolutely delightful. When she discovered we were celebrating my friend's birthday, she rallied everyone at the bar and throughout the lounge area to sing "Happy Birthday." The gesture was unexpected, heartfelt, and instantly made the evening feel special. As fate would have it, another guest was celebrating a birthday as well, so the entire group enthusiastically sang for her too. The bar clearly has a loyal following, as several regulars were gathered throughout the evening...a testament to the welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Syndey crafted custom cocktails for both my friend and me, working with only two instructions: tequila for her and vodka for me. The results were refreshing, creative, and expertly crafted. What could have been just another night out became a memorable birthday celebration thanks to the warmth, hospitality, and personal touches at W XYZ Bar. For that, I'm truly grateful. read more

My friend and I were looking for a place to grab a nightcap after having dinner nearby. We weren't really feeling the bars on Rock Rose. After browsing nearby bars, we saw that W XYX was within walking distance so we decided to give it a try. W XYZ is in the lobby of the Aloft Hotel. The hotel has a contemporary modern feel which is also reflected in the bar. When we first arrived, it wasn't too busy, but it picked up as the night went on. Chris was behind the bar that evening. He provided some good recommendations on cocktails. I was surprised to see the number of cocktails on the menu. I decided to go with the Freshen Up while my friend went with the Thin Mint Cookie. My drink had cucumber syrup in it. I'm a sucker for cucumber so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I didn't care for this drink. It was so mint forward from the creme de mint that it over powered the drink. I felt like I was drinking mouthwash. My friend enjoyed her drink and said it tasted like a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie in a glass. Though I didn't care for my cocktail, it wouldn't stop me from returning to try a different drink. I'll be sure to avoid any cocktails with creme de mint in the future. read more

After having dinner at The Domain, my friend and I walked around. Stumbled on Aloft hotel where we knew they had a bar inside. It's such a cool looking lobby. Bumper pool table, couches and seating areas. A small bar with some pretty unique cocktails. Apparently it was a hopping place on Saturday night. By the time we got there, ordered our drinks and sat down on the couch, a group of people came in and sat near us with drinks in hand. Guess this hotel lobby is the trending place. The vibe is pretty cool. It doesn't feel like a lobby. Just seems like a chill place to talk and catch up without a lot of noise and distractions. I believe the bar in the lobby is open to midnight. I got a mint cookie drink. And literally tastes like a liquid mint chocolate cookie. I could have had 4 more. Yum, minty. read more

The WXYZ bar, specifically its manger Sydney, transformed what would have been a dull work trip into a magical get away. We work remotely and don't get together as much as we should. I've got a group of dear friends ranging from 23!years to 16 years of history and Sydney at WXYZ elevated our experience to one we will never forget. Sydney's ability to craft custom cocktails and mold the environment to her customers was at a level I've never experienced before. Disclaimer: we are from Wisconsin and professional drinkers. We frequent world renowned James Beard award winning bars in operation since 1938. As I'm still on a long term euphoric high from the whole week, I'll reserve any sort of official ranking, but this was one of the best mixology experiences I've ever had. read more

I came here with my boyfriend wanting a nightcap. Bri was working the bar, and we asked her to create a couple of dessert cocktails for us. She made my boyfriend a "Bri-sicle" which was so delicious, and me a cocktail that tasted just like an adult strawberry milk. There are plenty of bars in The Domain, so why go to a hotel for drinks? In this case, because it's the WXYZ Lounge the The Aloft Hotel where you will find superior cocktails from a master bartender. You will meet Mike, who has been behind the counter for 8 years (and has created many of the drinks on the menu!).  He will identify what you are looking for, can educate you about your drink, the spirits, and his process. On top of that, he has a great personality! This lounge is quite small (it *is* in a hotel lobby) but there are comfortable chairs, couches, and tables for you. And most appreciated, it is fairly quiet. You can have actual conversation.  It's a wonderful way to close out your evening.  Superior cocktails in a comfortable setting. And, don't forget, prepare to tip Mike well! He will deserve it! read more

While staying at the Aloft at The Domain over a long weekend, we noticed this bar was quite lively and active each night! On the weekends, they had a one-man band (guitarist) and the lounge and bar was completely packed each night, even around midnight! So, on our last night we stopped in, grabbed a spot at the bar and had a nightcap. Bri was the bartender and she was very friendly and helpful. She had just designed a new drink with fall flavors that my wife got, which seemed to be quite popular, as others were drinking it as well. It really did taste great! They offer all the common bar favs in spirits and have a decent cocktail menu, but you can always veer off the menu and challenge the bartender, if you want. I always enjoy these WXY Z bars in Aloft hotels, they're typically energetic and fun and this experience was the same. read more

Just wow!!!! We were going to Culinary Dropout and they were closed for a private event. We are so grateful! After looking at Yelp reviews we decided on W XYZ. We had been screaming at each other at other bars in the Domain because of loud music and the overcrowded atmosphere; when we entered the Aloft, the music was refreshing and understated and the ambience was perfect for a Friday night. Mike, the Master Bartender greeted us with a mesmerizing beard, waves of silver curls and a welcoming smile. The cocktail menu was innovative and had a story to tell. The three of us chose different drinks after consulting with Mike and they DID NOT disappoint. Wow again!!! Try the Vintage, 837-5309, Elizabethan Poetry, A$$ in the Sand and/or the Baby Step... Heck!! Try them all (Get a convenient room upstairs). The curated cocktails are delicious and made with care. Mike crafted most of them himself and you can taste his passion and thoughtfulness. Yum!!! A wonderful way to experience the Domain in a lovely and connecting way with your friends/family. Obviously, I highly recommend. We will definitely be back and bring others. Special. Magical. A really nice hotel-bar, open till midnight every day and the bar tender is great. It's not too loud, very modern - you can either sit at the bar, or grab one of the comfy chairs/ sofas in the main lobby area and enjoy a fireplace. Has a great cocktail selection, but I opted for wines twice now. The prices are very decent too. They also have a small selection of bar food item, but didn't get to try those. read more

This was a surprise. Right mix of quiet and sports bar. Amber and Mike were attentive bar tenders and took good care of the customers. The mac and cheese was a yummy, light bite. Here's how I'd summarize this place. 1) Need an emergency drink & don't want to hang out with the kiddies down the block at Gloria's, Salt Lounge, or the Punch Bowl - then this place will do the trick. 2) Nice comfortable lounge-y area that has decent décor. 3) Small Bar - not many places to sit. 4) Could not get a decent Margarita - wth?
