So many photo opportunities at Wonder Bar. After cruising through Wonder Bar, we realized it did not have the type of music we were seeking. So, we exited stage left. Fun spot for photos and a round of beer pong! The bar is filled with themed decorations. from Christmas to outer space, and there's even a Stranger Things setup outside. We had a great time grabbing drinks, playing beer pong, and taking tons of pictures. The staff was super friendly and helpful, which added to the experience. I did take off some stars because, while the space looks clean and well-kept, there was a strong smell of vomit throughout the bar. After a while, it became overwhelming enough that we had to leave. Hoping this was just a one-off issue, because otherwise it's a really enjoyable place to hang out. read more

Wonder Bar ended up being one of the highlights of the night. This place is big, open, and full of fun surprises. Much cleaner since the last time I was there. It wasn't crowded, so our group had no problem finding a great spot and getting drinks. They had a Stranger Things themed patio that looked amazing, a DJ inside, a beer pong table, and even a price Is right style wheel to spin. My favorite bar in the domain by far! They do a great job decorating for every season and keeping things fresh and fun. If you stop by you have to spin the wheel and test your luck! An eclectic experience somewhere between a fever dream and outer space, Wonder Bar outclasses all other Domain bars when it comes to creativity and aesthetics. Central to other bars and restaurants, Wonder Bar is very accessible, especially when taking into consideration The Domain's free parking. From the moment you enter it feels like you're entering an experience, not just a bar. From space themed rooms to funky decorations and a prize wheel, everything feels detailed to the patron experience. At the main bar we ordered 'That's That Me Espresso' and 'A Little Treat'. Both drinks were very good, although they're $14 a pop which is expected at a place like this. We also got a token to spin the wheel where it decides what you get. That part is very fun as the workers and people around get very into it, contributing to the fun atmosphere. The music is also good and if you like to dance it seemed like there were a good amount of people doing so there. Altogether, Wonder Bar is a very fun bar where energy and good drinks intersect and leave you wanting to come back to give that wheel just one more go. We highly recommend it to anyone going out for a night in The Domain. read more

I went with a large group of people and it was a lot of fun. The club had small rooms that had different themes and different specialty drinks. There were people of all ages though of course most were in their 20's and 30's. I was really impressed with the outdoor patio that was converted into a Stranger Things area. read more

So....we maybe should have tried going in when we were a) already drunk or b) when it was already dark out. Unfortunately neither was the case for us. We had just finished brunch and figured we'd pop in on a slow Sunday afternoon for a drink or two and a few quick pics but it was kind of like your first time going to Sea World as an adult and seeing how awful the place really is. Everything was super dirty and run down. The backgrounds, seating and floors were chipped, scuffed, and gross and dirty. We were there around 4pm and it hadn't rained all day, yet the outside section still had dirty water over all the seating and photo ops. No one could go out there with a rag since you opened? Maybe the two "door guys" who weren't checking IDs could be helpful there. I'm not sure what their purpose was. There were only maybe 10 people in the bar and 7 of them were my group. The drinks? Listen. I am a trooper. 99% of the time, I finish my drink, whether it's super tasty or not. I couldn't here. How bad can you eff up a margarita? Just ask Wonder Bar, because they managed. It tasted like it was a shot of tequila in a glass of Margaritaville mixer. Syrupy and just damn gross. The only good drink was the club soda one of our girls had because she'd been here before and knew better than to order a cocktail. It's too bad - it could be a cute spot if it got cleaned up and made decent cocktails. read more

Just like last time, we came here on an anniversary weekend. The decor is always fun, this time they had a Where Barbie goes to die large Barbie box you could stand in and take photos. There was a Kissing Booth in one room, dude in there was cleaning up after what he said was a very messy beer pong match. I see several reviews on here about the bad service and rude bouncers as well as the dress code sign. I agree the dress code is a little strict but we were dressed as werewolves and had no issue getting in. It sucks so many had bad experiences here as it seems like a fun place. I hate that for some people they are signaled out and treated poorly. It sours me on the place. Our time there was fine, we never stay long and always leave before it gets crowded. I admit the staff is hit or miss, some are very friendly and outgoing like the guy cleaning up and the lady at the wheel but the three bartenders this night all acted like we were a bother, and yes we tip both in cash and on the card so in two ways. They were not mean but you got the vibe they didn't like us early walk ins. But the spin the wheel was fun, Shana got a canned drink and I got a hat. This place is alright! We came here with some family and friends in the middle of a death hot day. You come here for the ambiance. There are so many stimuli in here. This is exactly one of those places that you see those aspiring influencers doing a little video in to show how much fun they're having. Maybe it's because we were there in the middle of the day, but it was fun but not extremely lively. There are so many activities and places for cute little photo ops, and there's even a hidden room with a 3D Twister game. They have a nice variety of drinks, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There's also an outdoor space, with swings, places to sit, and even more silly photo ops. If you dare, with the heat! Overall it was a pretty interesting place. I paid $14 for an 8 oz get lit bulb drink, that was as half full, no bulb lid and it was basically juice . Bartender was too busy trying to keep her boobs from popping out to make a good drink. Not happy to be there and you could tell. We felt bad for her People smoking on the back outside patio was a bummer. Save your money and skip this one...seems like a good idea, but nope not worth it. Also, the banana swings are very slick...lots of people slid off and hit the floor. Dress code is a joke and not enforced at all...not sure why tattoos are even on it. I've always wanted to swing on the banana swings at Wonder Bar. This Instagram-worthy bar has a very cute rainbow and banana theme (suggestive, but not over the top). The cocktails are fun and not absurdly priced. The atmosphere was not as fun as I expected it to be, as it didn't seem like much of a dancing type of bar on a Friday night, despite the blasting music, lack of seating, and fun decorations. That is fine as we just sat on the banana swings outside and talked. The side photo room was really dingy. The smiley faces were unsettling, and it was dirty. read more

What a cool and fun find in Austin! I highly recommend this place, especially if you enjoy taking pics and videos! They have a LOT here! You can pay to spin the wheel for a drink or a prize or you can get a drink off their menu, We parked in the Target parking and walked over since it was free parking. There are several photo ops here and great fro is to choose from. We were able to find a table right away inside but there are swings to sit on outside but be cautious I slid right off because I was wearing leggings! The staff were not very warm and friendly but it was kind of busy and they still gave me decent service. I would probably return again but not because of anything but the ambiance. I don't go out in The Domain often, but I was meeting a friend who lives there so we walked up the main drag to find a spot. Everything was dead except for Wonder Bar, so we picked that spot. I asked for an Old Fashioned and got one of the worst Old Fashioneds I've ever had. But then I understood the bar's purpose and it's to get people fucked up. Stuck with tequila & soda, and their well is Espolon, so that worked better for me. My friend had a holiday drink in a disco ball that he said was great... I almost got it but he said it's really sweet and I hate that in a cocktail. Inside was way too noisy, as was every bar on that street. I know, I know, get off my lawn and all that. They did have a little front patio that worked for some people watching. But a $110 bar tab later and I wonder if we could have had the same experience for $20 on his balcony. Oh well. read more

What is a middle-aged man to do on a first date with a beautiful woman after getting tanked during a good dinner at the Domain? Well go out in the waning hours of nighttime and find a bar that's full of life to reenergize the batteries of course! This was my first night at the Domain with my then first date and as of now girlfriend and we had just finished dinner and the restaurant we were at when the music was done for the night. She suggested we check out Wonder Bar which was relatively close to where we were. It's been a long time since I've had the "pleasure" of long lines and bouncers - you know the ones of which I'm thinking so I'm going to stop on that thought. Once we convinced him my dates bag was harmless, he "let use through b/c he knew people." Whatever. To tell you the truth, this is the first time I've been to an interactive and playful bar full of distractions in Austin. I'm not sure if more are out there since first of all I don't count adult arcades and I've only lived in South Austin for roughly two years but I dig these types of environments compared to the more generic clubs. In other words, I like the odd ball in the bunch and Wonder Bar is that place. I'm an open mic night comedian and I love watching people because they give me a lot of material. What is easily noticed is that the young adults of today are infatuated with their phones and Wonder Bar capitalizes on this fascination right from the jump. Upon entering there was a cubby with a unicorn to sit on with a crazy painted wall and reflected lights. Get out those phones kitties, because you'll be taking a lot of pictures with all the zany attractions. I won't elaborate further as all the pics should be telling enough. I was in there after 10pm on a Saturday night and the place had a large crowd but manageable. The bar is in the dead center of the facility with many areas to explore. The bartenders are pretty darn fast and nice. I didn't get a sense of favoritism, ie Joe Blow who looks like a millionaire or the supermodel gets served before me. Considering I'm well to do and my mom tells me I'm a male hunk perhaps I was the one getting preferential treatment but I digress... that was a joke by the way. My point is you'll be served your favorite poison expediently and with a reasonable price. The crowd was as diverse as Austin itself. People of all persuasions, interests and ethnicities were present and not once did I feel like anyone were interested in anything but having a fun night and very cordial. Moreover, there are quick lines to the restrooms, people are forgiving of innocent bumps and everyone I struck up a conversation with were smiles from ear to ear. Overall I dig this joint. It's a good departure from the norm but I wouldn't consider it a family atmosphere or something the elderly would enjoy. For the most part individuals with a fun demeanor, a great energy whose age falls between 21-60 and those looking to cut loose and have fun will get the most out of spending their time here. I highly encourage giving this place a chance on a busy night. read more
