    Burger, chicken fried steak

We've been to The Water Trough a few times now and in aggregate it is a fun and lively place to dine at. The closest parking is the Orange Garage so the walk over is quick. Breakfast or dinner, it is a nice, clean place with a good vibe and good food. The setting at night is much better as they have live music most nights and put up the garage shutter so you can hear it from their outdoor portion as well. On the breakfast side of things we sat quickly and service was okay. We ordered the Texas breakfast tacos and the pancakes, hash browns, and bacon a la carte. The breakfast tacos were good. We got them with brisket and the portion was huge, although we wish it came with three tortillas instead of two because it was more than we could fit into them. The eggs, cheese, and brisket all came together and despite what reads as a smaller dish, we were pretty full by it. As for the pancakes, hash browns, and bacon; all were pretty classic versions of them. The pancakes were good, thin and sweet. The hash browns were cooked well with a slight crunch and the bacon was the highlight of the three, full of flavor with a nice chew and crisp. We also ordered chocolate milk, but whatever we got was NOT chocolate milk. It was closer to a frothed drink and had cinnamon in it which was a bit strange. The waitress could clearly see we were not feeling it and she comped it on our bill which was very, very nice of her to do without asking. The dinner here is much better than the breakfast admittedly. The live music certainly helps and the vibe with the low lighting gives it a very nice feel when dining. We had the country fried steak and LSC burger, both very good. The country fried steak was one of the better ones we've had here, extremely savory and the fries were good too. The burger was juicy and full of flavor as well. Beware the fries here are really home fries or cubed fries in case geometry is not your thing. Ultimately, The Water Trough is a very good place to eat at and is probably a bit overlooked due to its location in The Domain, but between solid food and good live music scene, we don't see why anyone wouldn't want to stop by. We'd recommend this spot as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of the north Domain and for those preferring a more relaxed and intimate night of food and music.

Laid back spot with live music and friendly service. Food was ok - Caesar salad was pretty basic and sliders had good flavor but had bones and the rolls were falling apart. Pretty convenient if staying in the area though. Good outdoor patio for nice weather nights

Such a great vibe! Very chill and calm great for a small lunch/ patio hang with a small group or people. Service was okay.. there was only one person so I don't blame the wait. She was very nice and helpful. We just got happy hour margs and chips great deal! I would definitely come here again!

Amazing experience at The Water Trough! Delicious food, super friendly service, and a cozy rustic vibe with a great patio. I'd definitely come back and recommend it to friends.

Our manager was paying for HH, and they chose this place. We came during the cold season, and this place has a huge fireplace. The interior feels very cozy and warm. It wasn't packed and it felt nice when I got here. We go drinks and apps. The apps was good for bar food and the drink was good. They have a good selections of drinks to chose from. I also walked outside and it looks really nice for a nice weather. I would comeback here for a date just for the setting.

Brisket tacos-my friend said the brisket was amazing.

My friend and I arrived here around 7PM on a Saturday night. The place was relatively empty, but got busier before we left around 10PM. Decor is rustic and welcoming with a huge fireplace in the center of the indoor space and a fire pit providing a cozy ambiance in the outdoor area. My Chill Cowboy cocktail was deliciously floral and well balanced with a fresh mint garnish. Our server was very attentive, and I never ran out of water. When I asked about ingredients in my meal, she promptly asked the chef and provided the information I requested. My miso salmon with baby bok choy was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed the sesame purée made with squash. My friend enjoyed her generously portioned brisket tacos, and said the brisket was amazing. The restaurant and bar is connected to a hotel with reserved parking, so you will need to park either in the Orange garage or somewhere else nearby. Definitely a fun, off the beaten bath, for dining, drinking, and/or enjoying some live music at the Domain.

The Water Trough is connected to the Lonestar Court hotel in the domain. While staying at the hotel, we decided for a Saturday dinner at the water trough. Luckily, even on game night, there was no wait for a party of 4. We seated ourselves near the bar. The rustic-barn vibe was welcoming, however the over abundance of flys was not. I believe if the doors had been closed off from the pool area it may have not been as bad, but we were constantly swatting them away. The food itself was alright. The $25 country fried steak was good, the loaded baked potato was really just a half with melted cheese and bacon and was pretty disappointing considering the price point. Definitely recommend the egg-roll appetizer, this was probably the best thing we had.

    Great drinks and entertainment.

I had drinks and appetizers, the service was amazing. The chips and queso were great as were the drinks.

While staying at Lone Star Court I had the opportunity to dine at Water Trough. The place is really like like eating inside a big barn with bar on one side and fireplace on the other. There are TVs all around and live music at night. The first night I enjoyed a Lone Star Beer and Peach Cobbler. The beer was good and the cobbler was tasty. I thought it could have been a little sweeter. The next morning I had breakfast where I ordered the Classic Breakfast Plate. I customized it to include scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. There was free coffee to help wakeup. Breakfast was very good and had a tentative server to make sure we were satisfied. I never know this place was here and glad was able to discover it.

The Watertrough has a rustic and cozy charm that you'll never forget. Bartenders are super friendly, and the indoor + outdoor space is super spacious. Indoors you can find tables + many cozy couches. Outdoors you can sit poolside by their fire pits to warm up when it gets chilly! In the evenings there's live music either inside the bar or on the lawn. If you don't want to head downstairs for the music, you can enjoy it from your balcony during your stay. Staff were so warm and welcoming, especially Winnie! During our stay, I looked forward to seeing her each morning when getting breakfast. She made me feel at home when grabbing a bite to eat. AM Pastries, coffee, + tea are complimentary for guests at The Water Trough. But they also have a breakfast menu. -Breakfast tacos w/ bacon + homemade pico de gallo -Breakfast waffle sandwich: Choice of bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs served bwtn two waffles. Served w/ maple syrup PM We didn't get dinner at the bar, but did get some drinks. -Ranch water: Tequila, homemade lime popsicle, topo chico (my new fave besides a good marg) -Lone Star beer Stop by and check out their delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Grab a drink and enjoy the live music outside! Highly recommend!

Bomb burger! This place was quiet on a Thursday night, not many people enjoying their meals, but they had live music, great full bar and the perfect menu for something to hit the spot. I ordered a burger for dinner, with the side of spicy slaw. It was truly delicious. Everything you want in a burger- juicy, filling and cooked to perfection. Loved this little spot so much I went back down for breakfast and got the two egg tacos. Perfect for a quick bite and on to activities. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating, and I can't wait until I'm back in the area to go back and bring my family!

    Super cool building.

Great little watering hole at the Lone Star Court Boutique Hotel. Unlimited good coffee and super cool building makes it 5 stars. They are a little understaffed but super friendly. The free breakfast is above average and food can be ordered. Drinks are quick. Food is not. We stayed at Lone Star for a birthday get away and there are multiple great places to eat in the Domain. This little place is just a filler spot but they do a fine job.

From the moment we sat down, the service set a phenomenal tone for the meal. Our server, Avery, genuinely took the time to ask what we were interested in, thoughtfully guiding us through the menu with recommendations that were, frankly, unbelievable. Every single suggestion was spot-on. As for the food, every dish that arrived at the table was a masterpiece: The Brunch Plate: A beautifully classic, elevated breakfast. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to absolute perfection, seasoned with a light touch of pepper and spice. Paired with perfectly golden, crispy hash browns, savory sausage, thick-cut toast, and a rich fruit compote, it was a flawless, hearty start to the day. The Beet & Citrus Salad: A vibrant, refreshing standout. The earthy depth of roasted red and golden beets paired wonderfully with bright, juicy citrus segments, creamy crumbled cheese, and fresh greens. It was beautifully balanced, incredibly fresh, and a perfect contrast of textures. The Pesto Pasta: Absolutely spectacular. The pasta shape held onto the rich, flavorful pesto sauce perfectly, which was tossed with fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and tender chicken, all finished with a generous dusting of parmesan. It was savory, comforting, and packed with bright, fresh flavor. Between the flawless, attentive service and the phenomenal quality of the kitchen, they made this Father's Day incredibly memorable. We will absolutely be back!

A new business acquaintance suggested we meet there and when we walked in, it was surprisingly empty. The manager was our server and he shared some history as he recently took over operating this location a year or so ago. He was well versed in wines and their wines were lower in sulfites so they were less tannic/dry, which is typically my preference in wines. He suggested a wine flight options if we wanted to try different wines, which was nice. We each told him our typical preferences and he created a custom flight for us. To me they were lighter and less bold than I prefer but it was good to try a few different kinds. She had two whites and two reds. I had four different reds. They have limited food options (i.e., two) so we ordered the hummus that was pictured with bread but they were out so they offered pita chips instead, which were fine. He did say that even though they had limited food options, we could order from El Dorado next door and they would walk it over when it was ready, which is very cool even though I typically don't think of Mexican food and wine going together. :-) The overall presentation of the food and glasses was more basic than I would have expected from a wine shop since I've done several wine tastings before, but the location is great and I look forward to checking it out again soon and trying some different wines!

Drinks are expensive and served in what feels like miniature target brand, low-quality glasses, which makes the value proposition hard to justify the steep $14 price. The atmosphere is where it really falls apart. The space is set up like a bright, casual brunch hall rather than a cocktail bar--harsh, bright lighting, uncomfortable wooden chairs, and basic wooden square tables that don't align with the concept AT ALL. There's no food offering, yet the environment feels designed for daytime dining rather than an evening bar experience. From a design and hospitality standpoint, it's difficult to understand how this made it to opening in its current state. Even a VERY basic understanding of lighting and ambiance would suggest this setup is fundamentally mismatched--ESPECIALLY for something like a date night.
