"Nosh & Bevvy Won't Forgive Me for All the Ways They Wronged Me" That title is meant to be ironic. After more than fifteen years as a customer, I made one mistake: a four-dollar tab discrepancy on a day when I had just been turned away from a dental appointment because my blood pressure was too high for treatment. I was upset, distracted, and wanted to be around people I believed were my friends. That was the last day I ever stayed there as a customer. Let's go down the list. I have been accused of skipping out on my tab. The truth is that after fifteen years of faithful patronage, there was one incident involving approximately four dollars. I had added items to my order, paid cash, and made a mistake. One mistake in fifteen years. After that happened, I became concerned that I would continue to be treated as though I couldn't be trusted. In my experience, comments about unpaid tabs continued to surface. Rather than create another misunderstanding, I made a point of being generous. On the very next occasion I tipped Charlie more than fifty percent. Instead of feeling appreciated, I arrived the next time feeling insulted when the entire amount was simply pocketed without so much as an acknowledgment. Maybe others see that differently. That's how it felt to me. The situation became even more disturbing when interactions began taking place outside the bar itself. While standing in front of my own home, I experienced conduct that I considered harassment. As a result, I filed a police report and have the corresponding case number in my email records. What disturbed me even more were stories that reached me through people connected to my former partner. According to what we were told, false rumors were being circulated claiming that my ex-girlfriend had committed suicide. Whether people thought this was gossip, entertainment, or somehow harmless, it was not. The psychological harm caused by spreading something like that is difficult to overstate. Shame on everyone involved. What you don't know is Satara an I  spoke with witnesses that completely implicated Gilbert in the rumor. What strikes me now is that I nearly forgave all of this. I removed earlier reviews because I genuinely wanted to move on. I thought it was over. I thought everyone could move on with their lives. Apparently not. If people insist on dragging the issue back into the light, then here it is. The reality is that I don't even particularly miss the place. What I do object to is being disrespected. When a business chooses to disrespect a customer who supported it for fifteen years, there are consequences. One of those consequences is that customer telling his side of the story publicly. A Message to the Staff: If I believe I am being harassed in public--whether at Night Owl or anywhere else--I will pursue every legal remedy available to me. And Sam, for what it's worth, I am sorry that your employees have represented your business in a way that ultimately cost you a longtime customer and the loss of business from everyone else that read & took this review to heart as a warning & again, Sam & Charlie, for what it's worth I wanted to make all of this go away.  Fifteen years. One four-dollar mistake. And somehow I'm still the one expected to apologize when I feel like my partner and I were the ones most wronged. Because I'm not a completely vindictive man. A coworker suggested this place for sports watching and atmosphere. Never knew this place existed but glad we ventured here. Nice pub located in a strip center off Burnet close to 183 area. Convenient. Came for sports and drinks and that's what we got! Bartenders were super friendly especially the woman bartender. Gosh I wish I could remember her name. I wasn't hungry but are party ordered the fried pickles and fish n chips: my husband said they were the best fried pickles he's had in town and would come back for the fish and chips. We came here recommended by a local who said this is her go to for good food, drinks, and chill vibes, and she was right. We loved this place. The burger was so good, fries and fried pickles were cooked perfectly and served hot. We played darts while we were here, and enjoyed some good beers and frozen drinks. A great neighbor recommended Nosh & Bevvy as we were just back from a tour of Ireland where I developed a love for Guinness. This draw of Guiness was as close to what we got in Ireland as I could imagine. On top of that, the fish and chips, the Sheppard's pie are wonderful. I have read some negatives about the servers, but my experience has always been as good as it can get! If you treat people respectfully, the usually respond the same way. Met a friend last minute last week at this pub. I've been there a few times before and I'm glad she reminded me that it wasn't too far from either of us. It has a very laid back, cool vibe. We sat at the bar and had a nice time catching up. The bartender made us some nice dry gin martini's with a twist and I ordered the fish & chips which were tasty! Their fish and chips were amazing- 3 HUGE pieces of fried fish in crunchy batter, served with crispy waffle fries. I ordered a side order of curry that went perfect with my fish and chips. Came in on a late flight and was looking for food that wasn't fast food that was close to my hotel. I called in and asked when their kitchen closed and they said in 5 minutes. Went to say thanks anyway as I wouldn't make it but they said we can put it in now and it will be ready when you get here. Chicken Tikka Marsala was great. Note: This review is based on a 45 min experience watching the end of an Austin FC game in which they tied Seattle 1-1. I enjoyed a great $5 pint of 512 IPA while bellied up to the bar watching a grainy TV; I'm not sure if that was a game day special, but a swell price nonetheless. Ok I love taking a risk especially when a place looks strange from the outside. Upon on arrival it was pretty dark like the atmosphere was a lil dull. We sat where ever we wanted and got great service right away. The menu has a great selection of all the good British food and good drink selection. - The food was great we ordered fish n chips , bangers and smash and kids corn dogs. I loved everything for the quantity of food and price I was mind blown why everything was reasonable. The drinks made were really good I had to have two lol - Overall I know it seems dark inside hopefully they can make it seem more appealing to get more customers in. 4 stars for the good and drink and one extra star for Gilbert and Charlie the bartenders. One of the things we look for in a watering hole is bartenders who are engaging and friendly. Charlie and Gilbert had both of those qualities and we really appreciate it feeling is welcomed as we did for our first visit. The bar looks like a traditional English pub, of course they have smithwick's beer and Guinness, but they also host several local and regional beers as well. The food menu was pretty varied and had lots of choices. We did start with queso and chips which were okay but I have a pretty high standard for that so they weren't quite up to what I like in the way of Mexican queso and chips. We were able to sit at the bar so enjoyed being close to the action and noticed that there appeared to be a lot of locals there. Good reason, this place looks like a place you'd want to go if you lived in the area. Plus, the prices for the beers were all extremely reasonable, most were $6 and $5 and a couple of $7 beers. These days is hard to find beers under $7 anywhere. We left impressed in full and vowed that we would put this on our regular craft beer rotation list. read more

Hmm... So, this is claiming to be English or British, but it is more about the decor than anything else. They only have smithwicks and Guinness on tap as far as drinks go. They're playing country music most of the time, and the UK food offerings are fish and chips and some bangers n mash. I tried the fish n chips tonight, looking for a decent version since moving from houston. This was not it. I'm not sure what fish they use, but it wasn't haddock or cod. Waffle fries, enough said. I love this bar. Great food, fun atmosphere. Feels like "the spot" for locals. I don't know how I managed to avoid coming into this place after living in Austin for several years, but my girlfriend and I finally took the plunge and walked in on a warm spring Saturday. To put it concisely: this place is fantastic. What appeared to be regulars populated the bar and outside patio, and the place has a great vibe. British tchotchkes throughout the bar give it an authentic feel, and the dartboard area has ample space. Alyssa and Charlie were hospitable, incredibly friendly, and quick on the pour. A mix of hits and misses: Hits: Good selection of beers that are reasonable and well-priced. My friend got the chicken tikka masala curry, which was chock full of chicken, and he really liked it. Service was good: I was able to engage with my server to hear his suggestion for beers and, without prompting he brought me a sampler of 3 to try out; the server also checked up on our table every 20-30 minutes to make sure we were taken care of. The interior vibe is pretty relaxed, a decent place to catch a game up on Burnet. Misses: My fish and chips were pretty disappointing. The fish was sizable, but as I soon found out, completely unsalted. You can obviously add salt/vinegar/pepper from your table, but it seems nuts for the dish to arrive completely unseasoned. In addition, I swapped out the waffle fries in my order for onion rings but only got 6 of them. It looked pretty silly. I really like this place a lot. Last time I got the bubbled and squeak which I liked. This time I got the Carolina bbq but it was way too vinegary for me. Next time I will get the fish and chips.
