    Rueben Egg Rolls

In from out of town. Came here to read my book instead of sitting in my hotel room. Service was great. Ordered food to take back to my room. The Rueben Egg Rolls were divine. The soft pretzels tasted like fry bread. That was fine with me but definitely not a pretzel taste. Would visit again.

Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. Gave the bartender time to chat, super friendly. Reuben rolls were really good. Think chilis Tex mex rolls but with Reuben fillings. Fish tacos were fine. Salsa was good, tortillas held up, fish wasn't too greasy. There was tons of TVs. Id consider coming back to watch a game. Really enjoyed that there was a fun twist on the menu items.

Alana is such a great bartender! Great atmosphere in here and lots of room to enjoy the evening! While trying to find a place that was open in the mid afternoon on a Friday, we found this cool Irish tavern called The Pub. They were just opening for the day so we were the only ones in there at first. My wife and I walked around inside checking out the amazing atmosphere in here. While Alana was opening the bar, we started talking to her about the place and Austin in general. She had some great suggestions of things to do in downtown Austin (ended up going to most of her recommendations for the remainder of our stay). Super great personality and I could imagine when the place was full, that she's even more awesome! We finished our drink and went over to another place for a little while that we were waiting to be able to go to. We came back her a couple hours later and it was a bit busier but still great! This place is apparently a popular spot to watch Soccer too!

This Irish pub turned out to be a pleasant surprise! I stumbled into it looking for a quick bite after a happy hour. It is tucked away in the middle of downtown with an unassuming entrance. However, this bar seems like an ideal spot to watch sports. Apparently it's an Iowa bar for all you Hawkeyes fans. The food was surprisingly good as well. Did I order a grilled chicken plate at a bar like a psycho? Yes. Was it actually really good? Also yes. All the fried food was delicious which most bars usually do well.

Loved it, went 3 times during my 5 days in Austin. Calum is straight from Ireland and fun to talk to! My favorite was the Guinness, good breakfast, taco Tuesday and Irish Nachos! Yummy soup also!

Visited this place on a Friday after work, surprised that's it's quite empty. We ordered drinks and two dinner entrees - fish abs chips and spicy chicken sandwiche. The drinks are good, normal pub standard. The fish and chip is good with this really interesting green pea sauce, but the spicy fried chicken sandwich is kinda a disaster. They put way too much sauce on the burger and it's extremely spicy. We were on fire and had to drunk so much water. Well, the overall atmosphere is laid back and the bar is quite dark have you intimate feeling.

The Pub came in clutch as we were exploring some areas away from touristy 6th street. It was about 100 degrees, and we needed a beer. It was before lunch, and they were open. I had a standard Irish draft, and my wife and daughter had Finnish long drinks. 5 stars for the service and interior of this bar. It was beautiful inside. I wish I'd taken pictures. The two bartenders we talked to were so nice and helpful, giving us some information on places we wanted to go. One was the general manager. Everyone in Austin was incredibly nice and helpful. There were a couple of people having lunch and the food looked really good. The bangers and mash looked particularly tasty. It was too hot for us to eat this early, so after a short respite, we were back on the streets exploring. The Pub was a great Austin find.

Cool place with great service and fair prices. TVs everywhere with showing sport. Green tea shots are 10/10!

With that being said, comparatively speaking, this place actually does better with what they have than expected. Yeah, its a pretty standard sports bar, but they have some interesting food items and a pretty killer beer list. We went with the onion rings which was the highlight of the meal. They were perfectly sized and crunchy! Great call! I went with the Irish Potato which was basically a giant baked potato topped with Shepard's pie. I am not a big shepard's pie kind of guy, but I thought it added quite a bit to the potato so I was happy with my pick! My buddy got the fish and chips. There was only one fish and he said it wasn't particularly warm. That was a bummer along with it taking forever to get service here. With that being said, the place was decently packed so our server was likely doing the best she could. The Domain seems to be one of those weird places where they can get overwhelmed really fast. Jack and Gingers seems to be able to keep their heads above water, even if some things get shaky. I would come back! Why not? Drinks were good, food was fine, sports? I am happy!

Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

It was cooked well, if a little too much breading for my taste. The chips were really good. The tartar sauce was different than I am used to, a little runny and pink tinged, but it was good. The mushy peas were yummy and added an authenticity to the dish. I didn't really use the curry sauce that also came with the dish. To me it doesn't go with fish or chips. I did taste it, and the flavor was great.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there.
