Just stopped and had a quick beer on their outside patio. Love this place as a neighborhood hangout. With the fans going and soccer on, it was hopping on a Tuesday night. Although, I didn't have food, the plates coming out looked amazing. Saw the fish and chips passing by and will definitely order next time. This is an old school place to check out in Austin. Can tell this place has a lot of regulars based on the conversations with the staff.

I think I found a new favorite bar! I've always passed by Kelly's and been meaning to try it out. Finally went on a random Thursday evening. All the staff is super nice and attentive. I love the ambiance. It was fun and we sat in a cozy booth. Every booth has their own fan they can control. Different, but cool lol we immediately turned ours off cuz we were cold, but each booth had a cute lil pillow to keep warm with. Very large selection of whiskey and at pretty decent price points. I was in whiskey heaven! We weren't super hungry so we got to apps to share. The Onion Rings and Shep Bites. I like the Shep Bites better and paired well with the sauce. Can't wait to come back and check out more of the menu!

Everything was exceptional. Service, food, live music, parking, clean restrooms. My daughter has been to Ireland and she highly approved everything. We can't wait to go back.

Love this vibes of this place. Dark friendly sport bar type of place with decent pub food. We got the burger and the fish and chips with curry sauce. Everything was solid and the beers were good!

Went to Kelly's Irish Pub to meet my girlfriends for a social gathering. The neighborhood pub is a great place for a meet up and is authentic and cozy with friendly staff, great Guinness and serves traditional Irish food amongst other favorites. We were able to reserve tables in the front of the pub for the gathering. There was plenty of space and the seating was comfortable. There were numerous TVs in the space broadcasting the football playoff games. The service was very attentive and friendly. The pace of the dining experience was timely except it did take some time to receive the food after ordering. Our party started off with Shep Bites with Fried Shepherd's Pie Rice Balls with Guinness braised Lamb, Rice, Dubliner Cheese & Tomato and an order of beer battered onion rings and Kelly's special sauce and shared amongst the table. For my entree, I ordered the Fish and Chips with Crispy Beer battered Atlantic Cod, Tartar, Lemon, Kelly's Peas & Home cut Chips. The batter was very crust and flavorful and the portion size was generous. It was served with steak cut French fries that were crispy and filling. I ordered a custom cocktail margarita with mezcal and muddled black cherries and it was. A hit. I ended up ordering two more. There was a bit of an up charge to add the black cherries but it was totally worth it. If you are craving traditional Irish pub fare with a cozy neighborhood pub vibe, Kelly's is a great choice!

I went to Kelly's on a random Tuesday for lunch and it was great! Very busy which made food service a bit slow but it was worth it. I got the fish and chips w/ a side of curry gravy. No fishy taste, perfect texture! I also got the magnet cider and that was also very delicious! The decor and feel of the restaurant really did transport you to Ireland for your meal. Definitely will be back.

Kelly's is a great spot. Good vibes and there is a patio! They do not take names or have a list for tables. It is first come first serve. The cider on draft was good and the fish and chips were fresh. Would recommend.

The rumors are true, best fish and chips i've ever had. Better than ones i've got in london....the thin batter and flavorful fish sold it. It was tender and i couldnt resist picking at it until the whole fish was demolished! Onion rings were also irresistible! What a bar! What a spot for bar food!!

Kelly's has been on our radar for quite a while. Even though my name ends in a vowel, I enjoy Irish pubs from Boston, New York, Chicago, and Dublin. I am pleased to report that Kelly's is the real deal. There is limited parking up front and another lot in the back. Kelly's appears small when you first walk in, with a small bar, a few tables, and booths. There is a larger bar in the back, a large covered patio, and a stage. On this Sunday there was an Irish/Tex band playing. Plus 1 ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the Irish stew. The fish and chips were battered lightly, and the cod was fried to flaky perfection. My lamb stew was rich, and the toasted ciabatta bread was great for sopping up that delicious broth. They do have a full bar, and they pour a proper Guinness pint. If you're coming with a gang, they do accept reservations. First time but not the last time we will be visiting Kelly's!

Even an Irish pub can have Dry January covered. They also had a zero proof Guinness.

Friends told me about this place awhile ago, so I'm so glad we got to check it out. Parking out front is a little tricky, but surprise! There is parking on the street behind the pub. We grabbed a large table on the back patio with the heaters. It was perfect. Because we were doing separate checks, a couple of us ordered from the bar. Service was way quicker there. One person used the waiter who came to the table, but it took forever for their drinks to come. Nice staff. Several are actually from Ireland. The food was very good. I got the fish and chips and it was a huge piece of cod with crispy beer batter exterior. The chips could have been crispier. Overall great time, and we'll be back.

Oh the dilemma of where to eat on Good Friday of Lent in the 78704.... I was starving from fasting and craving a good fish and chips so my husband mentioned this place was within walking distance. Fish and chips were on point. We ordered 3 for the table (hubby & I and two young kiddos). All were consistently cooked. You make wonder why this matters, but I've been places where i ordered fried fish and one was not all the way cooked. The batter was perfect thinness - inviting the perfect crunch. Fish was clean tasting if ya know what I mean. Portion size was decent. And those peas!!! What in the ??? is on those peas? I don't even like peas y'all and I was eating peas off of all 3 plates. And then I was drinking whatever the remaining sauce was in the ramekins. So back to my kid comment - yes we brought our kiddos to a pub. It is for sure a legit pub vibe when you walk in. We were lucky to get a table right by the entrance which seemed less pubby lol. I wouldn't frequent with my kiddos here but if I need another fish and chips fix - I know we can still do it.

I really enjoyed my visit to Kelly's Irish pub. The bartender Brian was excellent. I had a delicious espresso martini and a Moscow mule. The fish and chips came out quickly and didn't disappoint. They were crispy and light and are served with peas. Nice touch! According to the bartender, this place is pretty busy during the day Sunday and then calms down in the evening but on most nights it's busy in the evening. I also saw that there was comedy and karaoke night.

Pro tip: Sunday Roasts and live music on the patio between 3 & 6. Such a great time, every time. Love the atmosphere and the added touch of Irish staff. The Guinness pairs well with almost anything. They pour half pints too!

The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

"Nosh & Bevvy Won't Forgive Me for All the Ways They Wronged Me"…read more That title is meant to be ironic. After more than fifteen years as a customer, I made one mistake: a four-dollar tab discrepancy on a day when I had just been turned away from a dental appointment because my blood pressure was too high for treatment. I was upset, distracted, and wanted to be around people I believed were my friends. That was the last day I ever stayed there as a customer. Let's go down the list. I have been accused of skipping out on my tab. The truth is that after fifteen years of faithful patronage, there was one incident involving approximately four dollars. I had added items to my order, paid cash, and made a mistake. One mistake in fifteen years. After that happened, I became concerned that I would continue to be treated as though I couldn't be trusted. In my experience, comments about unpaid tabs continued to surface. Rather than create another misunderstanding, I made a point of being generous. On the very next occasion I tipped Charlie more than fifty percent. Instead of feeling appreciated, I arrived the next time feeling insulted when the entire amount was simply pocketed without so much as an acknowledgment. Maybe others see that differently. That's how it felt to me. The situation became even more disturbing when interactions began taking place outside the bar itself. While standing in front of my own home, I experienced conduct that I considered harassment. As a result, I filed a police report and have the corresponding case number in my email records. What disturbed me even more were stories that reached me through people connected to my former partner. According to what we were told, false rumors were being circulated claiming that my ex-girlfriend had committed suicide. Whether people thought this was gossip, entertainment, or somehow harmless, it was not. The psychological harm caused by spreading something like that is difficult to overstate. Shame on everyone involved. What you don't know is Satara an I  spoke with witnesses that completely implicated Gilbert in the rumor. What strikes me now is that I nearly forgave all of this. I removed earlier reviews because I genuinely wanted to move on. I thought it was over. I thought everyone could move on with their lives. Apparently not. If people insist on dragging the issue back into the light, then here it is. The reality is that I don't even particularly miss the place. What I do object to is being disrespected. When a business chooses to disrespect a customer who supported it for fifteen years, there are consequences. One of those consequences is that customer telling his side of the story publicly. A Message to the Staff: If I believe I am being harassed in public--whether at Night Owl or anywhere else--I will pursue every legal remedy available to me. And Sam, for what it's worth, I am sorry that your employees have represented your business in a way that ultimately cost you a longtime customer and the loss of business from everyone else that read & took this review to heart as a warning & again, Sam & Charlie, for what it's worth I wanted to make all of this go away.  Fifteen years. One four-dollar mistake. And somehow I'm still the one expected to apologize when I feel like my partner and I were the ones most wronged. Because I'm not a completely vindictive man. If I get an apology from every employee that works building that knows me, In writing, I will remove this review. -- Mad Dashiell
