Sausage wraps hit the spot at the turn and the home made potato chips are really good.

Fries were great too. The peach cobbler was very good-- a ton of fresh fruit. They also have a full coffee bar next door that you order from through your server and your server will bring it to your table. The crab deviled eggs were also good. I like the taste of capers so I really liked them. They are a tad salty if you are watching your sodium. Our server was super friendly and very attentive. Excellent service. The restaurant itself is super cute. I love all the photos on the wall ans the TV screen above the bar that showed different cute messages. This is also 2 min walk from a parking garage on 5th and Brazos if you don't want to deal with parking downtown. Highly recommend!

Even choosing a gratuity before being served felt weird. But the chicken pot pie was what brought us in. So we said yes anyway. Mashed pots were cold on arrival. We shared with the server and he brought new ones. Appreciated that. Fried chicken was way too salty. This was our second time here. The first time we loved it. And it was so packed. This time was a different experience. Not saying I won't ever come back. But it just felt different this time. Pot pie was still flaky and delicious.

Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared pretty quickly. We went to the back bar to order, and my boyfriend mistakenly asked for an "English Breakfast" instead of an Irish Breakfast. The bartender immediately corrected him, which was completely fine. What wasn't fine was her continuing to make rude comments about how he was looking to get kicked out of the pub, especially after he mentioned Northern Ireland being English. Look, I understand having pride in your heritage and being passionate about history, but there's a difference between educating someone and being flat-out rude. And last I checked, we came in to order breakfast, not get a lecture or be threatened with getting kicked out over a conversation. What a bizarre way to welcome two first-time customers. A simple correction would have been enough, but apparently making customers feel uncomfortable was more important than providing decent service. Such a cute place, but the attitude behind the bar? Not cute at all. Maybe work on the hospitality as much as the Irish pride.

Batter stays on, fish is fresh and perfectly flaky yet holds together. Fries are perfect and the pecan tartar sauce is bangin! My husband had the burger which was good. Nothing over the top but a good juicy burger, soft bun, with fries. They give you more fries than you, well, I can eat. I first had the Foxy Daiquiri. It is a great twist on the original Hemingway. I also had their frozen Irish coffee "Irish Goodbye". Very good! It's dessert in a glass that you can actually taste the alcohol even with the Ice Cream! Yum!! We sat at the bar and Abby was our bartender. Very friendly and attentive. If I were an Austin local I would come to sit at her bar. Really cool Irish vibe with a Jameson chandelier. Love the old world pub look. Edit to add. Chocolate torte was delicious, rich, wonderful chocolate. We got 2 sides of ice cream too! Definitely worth the extra ice cream with 2 people

Hand waving and nearly jumping out of my seat was not enough to get their attention. Finally, I ordered a burger and a beer. The burger was at least warm with an entirely tasteless bun, tomato, and onion. The fries were remarkably weak such that I questioned whether these calories were even worth it. Had to flag down staff for silverware, condiments, and finally the check. Gets one star for ambience and one for the staff being friendly when I finally got their attention.

Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

"Nosh & Bevvy Won't Forgive Me for All the Ways They Wronged Me"…read more That title is meant to be ironic. After more than fifteen years as a customer, I made one mistake: a four-dollar tab discrepancy on a day when I had just been turned away from a dental appointment because my blood pressure was too high for treatment. I was upset, distracted, and wanted to be around people I believed were my friends. That was the last day I ever stayed there as a customer. Let's go down the list. I have been accused of skipping out on my tab. The truth is that after fifteen years of faithful patronage, there was one incident involving approximately four dollars. I had added items to my order, paid cash, and made a mistake. One mistake in fifteen years. After that happened, I became concerned that I would continue to be treated as though I couldn't be trusted. In my experience, comments about unpaid tabs continued to surface. Rather than create another misunderstanding, I made a point of being generous. On the very next occasion I tipped Charlie more than fifty percent. Instead of feeling appreciated, I arrived the next time feeling insulted when the entire amount was simply pocketed without so much as an acknowledgment. Maybe others see that differently. That's how it felt to me. The situation became even more disturbing when interactions began taking place outside the bar itself. While standing in front of my own home, I experienced conduct that I considered harassment. As a result, I filed a police report and have the corresponding case number in my email records. What disturbed me even more were stories that reached me through people connected to my former partner. According to what we were told, false rumors were being circulated claiming that my ex-girlfriend had committed suicide. Whether people thought this was gossip, entertainment, or somehow harmless, it was not. The psychological harm caused by spreading something like that is difficult to overstate. Shame on everyone involved. What you don't know is Satara an I  spoke with witnesses that completely implicated Gilbert in the rumor. What strikes me now is that I nearly forgave all of this. I removed earlier reviews because I genuinely wanted to move on. I thought it was over. I thought everyone could move on with their lives. Apparently not. If people insist on dragging the issue back into the light, then here it is. The reality is that I don't even particularly miss the place. What I do object to is being disrespected. When a business chooses to disrespect a customer who supported it for fifteen years, there are consequences. One of those consequences is that customer telling his side of the story publicly. A Message to the Staff: If I believe I am being harassed in public--whether at Night Owl or anywhere else--I will pursue every legal remedy available to me. And Sam, for what it's worth, I am sorry that your employees have represented your business in a way that ultimately cost you a longtime customer and the loss of business from everyone else that read & took this review to heart as a warning & again, Sam & Charlie, for what it's worth I wanted to make all of this go away.  Fifteen years. One four-dollar mistake. And somehow I'm still the one expected to apologize when I feel like my partner and I were the ones most wronged. Because I'm not a completely vindictive man. If I get an apology from every employee that works building that knows me, In writing, I will remove this review. -- Mad Dashiell
