I ordered the wings and they didn't have them left in stock so the chef offered me the chicken sandwich and a side to even out the cost and we got the fried cheese curds. This was a great stop as we were out and about in Austin trying to hit as many craft breweries as we could since it's a hobby of ours. Draught House is German inspired with a nice, big beer garden and the way the inside looks it seems like you may have walked right into a German restaurant or drinking establishment with all of the dark wood and lighting. I believe you can get food from a food truck , possibly things like sausages which I'm sure are good but we brought in some food from a grocery store as we wanted something lighter and more vegetable forward. Their beer selection here is quite large and choices are pretty numerous. I decided to go with an Amber Ale it was very good! The name of it was called Cold Comfort. Flavor features to enjoy with this particular beer are malty, sweet, caramel and breadiness. The beer had a nice carbonation level too! All the flavors blended and melded together quite nicely which was nice. They certainly do know how to make beer and it was nice to get a beer type that I don't get as often. But this review is about their food truck that's run by Little House Kitchen (according to their online ordering platform). And BTW you can only order online with a qr code (this is always a bad customer experience imo). And just like this, the customer service isn't up to part. The fish is fantastic with a crispy hand batter. The fries were the absolute worst. Not crispy and tasted like I took some non name brand fries and threw them in an air fryer. And for $13 I expect more than 4 oz of fish. Sure there were plentiful fries but when they're that bad we both wasted money. But coming back to the service, with 3 empty bottles of malt vinegar and an empty ketchup dispenser and one guy working, of course I'm going to rate the service as bad. Ah the smell of a well worn neighborhood tavern. This place has been in Rosedale for decades and has been a gem of a watering hole. It's off the beaten path so you aren't likely to get many tourists here. Food truck provides sustenance that you wash away with flagons of ale. I wouldn't recommend getting the frozen margarita though. It's tiny, expensive and not great. The whiskey is great though. :) Still a bit expensive for the type of bar and location. With that being said, it's chill and you can find plenty of seating. Indoor furniture is right on there. Old wood with carvings in it. Outside patio is big and has some shade. Heading home from a haughty brunch we decided to drop into the Draught House for a pint. Goodness, it had been years since we had been here. Nothing much has changed and that is what we like about the place! We could tell that there were several of the locals enjoying their beers outside but even more inside where it was a little cooler. We had no problem parking, but it was early. The staff was great and helped with me with my choice of beers because they have so many to choice from. The old English tavern design and feel was nice, and it was nice to have a space inside that was cool. I think we have found our new Sunday afternoon beer place. read more

Visited here for the first time last week. It's a cool spot, kinda like a dusty old Bavarian house on the inside. They have an extensive beer menu, obviously, which my friends seemed to enjoy. What I thought was cool was they now have this frozen drink menu, like with a frozen gin and tonic, and these draught cocktails such as negronis or old fashions. Big plus for options for non beer drinkers. The bartenders had a really good memory both in terms of orders and knowing their selection. But that being said, I found the whole overall experience fun but absolutely nothing above and beyond a lot of other places in the city. And the bathroom was terrifying haha read more

It's been several years since we checked in here, so we decided to stop for an after lunch pint. Still has the old English pub atmosphere inside, and they've got a fairly large beer garden out front where there used to be parking. Parking used to be an issue, but they actually have signs out indicating alternate parking if their small lot is full. Larger selection of house brews than I remember long ago, and a fair number of other taps. If you are a beer nerd, you shouldn't be disappointed. Extra points to the bartender, when the cask ale I ordered petered out at the half pint mark, he just gave that gratis, along with the replacement pint. read more

Cool bar with nice staff on hand, wasn't too overcrowded on a Friday night with most people sitting outdoors. It's dimly lit inside and not too bright outside either but provides an overall chill mood and environment. Food truck outside serves a good sausage and fries but everything else besides that is about $8 or more, with most things averaging out to be $11-12 per menu item, a little pricey in my opinion for food truck foods. One ask I'd have is that they install some light features above the dartboards so it's easier to see and play on. read more

With a very old school vibe, this place hits the perfect pub vibe. The inside is dark and slightly dirty and feels transported from England. There is also a large outdoor area for groups and pets, as well as a food truck, which was not working the day I was there. I thought the beer seemed slightly high in price, but not offensively so. This is a fun place to grab a beer with friends, especially during the pandemic since all of their seating is outdoors. Beer is decent; not the best I've had but definitely a good effort for their own craft brews. Atmosphere is a good cross between German and Renaissance-y, almost felt like we were hanging out at the ren fest. They have a contactless ordering system set up - all ordering is done via website and they call your name when your beer is ready at the main indoor entrance. My main complaint is that every individual order on the website REQUIRES a food order ($3 french fries from the nearby food truck when we were there). So if you're chilling here for an extended period of time and like me, order your beers sequentially after you finish each one, you have to get an order of french fries with every single beer order. I understand this is because of the Texas law requiring 51% food sales in order to classify the establishment as a restaurant to stay open during the pandemic. But don't force me to help you meet your 51% quota with each drink order I place. If other breweries can do it without adjusting their way of ordering, it can be done. We eat too many french fries, we won't have room to try more of your beers! read more

They are just embarassed about their beer prices because they are about to rip you off so royally...they cannot believe it is working. Yep, i gave them a blessing they will not forget. The Draught House Pub has been around for 50 years which is unheard of from a business perspective so hats off to them! I'd say there's a lot to like about this pub which exudes a European vibe with all the wooden decor and dark lighting. The first point of interest was their tap board which was operated by Digital Pour. This thing gives you a ton of info! Not only does it list the beer name, brewery, ABV, style, and price, but it mentions the serving size and gives you an illustration of the serving glass and -- the most intriguing feature -- the keg volume status. You're even able to deduce if they have more than one keg of said beer. I have never seen this anywhere before as most pubs and breweries -- if they use a digital tap board -- turn to Untappd. The only downside is that they have a crap ton of taps, so you have to wait for the projection to scroll through a few screens to get an idea of the full tap list. The initial impressions were already very positive, so the fact that they served tasters was another added bonus. I believe they are known for their nightly specials and there was one going on for that night which I think was 50% off their house beers. The flight wouldn't have applied for this offer, so like we ordered a half pour of their *Triple Double*, an excellent 8% IPA. Very surprising, but the stout they brewed for their 50 anny was fairly normal. Roasty, easy-drinking, and mild. Overall, this is a legitimate watering hole, offering the variety needed to appease every kind of drinker and the chilled out atmosphere sought after by every thirsty adult. read more
