I am not sure why south Austin has many breweries...they just do. I arrived early to a Yelp event and decided to explore what the breweries "to do" was all about. First stop, Pinthouse Brewing. This a gigantic space including a upstairs...cavernous with super high ceilings. It has an industrial look with a greenery twist. Pinthouse Brewing is known for its superior craft beer. Their Electric Jellyfish Hazy IPA appears to be a fan favorite. The brewery offers over 20 beers on tap, including seasonal and experimental brews. Pinthouse delivers beers for every beer palate - IPAs, stouts, or lighter ales. In full transparency, I'm not a beer connoisseur. Did I fall madly in love with Pinthouse beer. No. However, there was a constant, strong flow of folks coming into the brewery, which speaks for itself. Pinthouse also hosts a happy hour and offer stout cake. Did I have any stout cake? Let me start off by saying this place isn't bad. I just have some things that I need to note. 1. Parking is not that great. It's really good if you have a Tesla because there's 10+ reserved spaces just for them to charge but for everyone else it's a compacted free for all. 2. The food is good but my wife and I got the veggie burgers and they are much smaller compared to the regular burgers. Also I do understand that normally fries come with burgers, but I wasn't expecting an up charge for it. 3. The square pizza looks good but I don't think it should be as much, or more, as their pizza prices at Pinthouse Pizza Otherwise I did enjoy myself and my wife and I do come from time to time for trivia nights. My experience here was so-so. Came here for a trivia night thing hosted by get it games. I'm vegetarian and wasn't feeling pizza so I ordered their veggies burger. Compared to their regular beef burgers, their veggie burger is LAUGHABLY tiny. And for $14?? Really? Cmon y'all. Feels unfair. Make your veggie burgers the same size as the meat ones please. They also upcharge you $2 if you wanna add fries to your plate. You do get some other options for free like Cole slaw, fruit cup, chips, etc... but I mean... fries is pretty standard industry practice to offer to customer with a burger meal. Fries should be a free side option, not an up-charged side option. Additionally, Parking is pretty abysmal. I went on a Wednesday night and had to circle the parking lot probably 5+ times to finally find a spot. Half of the spots are EV parking so that rules those out so finding parking is even harder. Whenever I'm craving a solid pizza and a Caesar salad, Pinthouse Pizza is my go-to. However, for those who don't know, Pinthouse Brewing is in a league on its own. At the other Pinthouses, you'll find a plethora of pizzas served New York style. At the Ben White location, you'll find a variety of food including sandwiches and unique Detroit styled pies. There's seating indoors, but most of their dining space is in a covered open air warehouse surrounding the brewery. For those who would like to see the brewery in depth, you can also schedule to take a tour. Drinks: The classic Electric Jellyfish lives here, but I think the other beers don't get enough attention. A close second would be the Training Bines. Food: I ordered the OG and was in love with it. It was spicy and sweet and the dollops of ricotta was the icing to it all. Indoor and out door seating but the outdoor seating is covered and cool, it's really nice, one can lounge, sit at regular table or picnic table, TV's inside and outside. This is a fun place. I go for boardgame nights and am thinking of hosting an event there. There's plenty of parking (though it does fill up). They have N/A selections. A friend and I split a pizza and it was enough for 2 of us. The pizza is a bit on the pricey side but given that it's enough for 2 people, it's actually not that much. The pizza was good. We got the vegetarian one for my friend but I would think all of them are pretty good as the crust and cheese were great. Service is fast and friendly. You conveniently order from a QR code and check out that way also so no need to split the bill or try to find who owes what. It can get a bit loud because it's a large open area that fills up but since we were there for board games, it was fine for me. Its a nice place to host a get together. We came to this awesome pizza + brewery on a busy Saturday afternoon. The ambiance itself was excellent, high ceilings, fun decor, and one of the most spacious breweries I've been to. To start, the Texas pretzel was huge and delicious, served with mustard and queso. The sourdough pizza itself was incredible and unlike anything I've tried before. We ordered the OG, which came with pepperoni (perfectly charred as described), ricotta cheese, and other deliciousness like spicy honey and basil. The buffalo chicken pizza was also tasty, which came with shredded chicken, blue cheese, pickled veggies, and chicarrones on top with a slightly spicy sauce. Even for 3 voracious eaters, we still had leftovers! The bartender also gave us a complimentary free tour of the catwalk upstairs and graciously explained the brewing process to us. Can confirm it is as good as the other locations. It was about 40 minutes of a commute before it was eaten, but it still tasted very fresh. Was craving some pizza on my way back home from Big Bend over the weekend driving through Austin and wanted to try their pizza out for the 1st time. I will definitely 1000% come back every time I am in Austin! Customer service was very prompt and exceptional including I believe may have been their manager who immediately acknowledged a very small hiccup which wasn't a biggie at all but went above and beyond to correct it and make it right. Overall everyone was friendly and their pizza won my heart forever! I ordered the OG pizza, from what I remember it was pepperoni, basil, dollops of ricotta and hot honey! Just amazing, not to mention the sourdough bread crust! Please go ASAP if you are local or thinking of visiting Austin and also love craft beers, you will not regret it. My son got the kids burger and it was the same size as mine except for 1 patty so score for that. The burger was delicious, got the sauce on the side and was glad I did because it was messy even without it (don't order if you're on a first date) my husband got the fried chicken sandwich and said it was different from others and liked it but would probably order something different the next time.
