Finally had some time to check out Hold Out Brewing and not only do they serve some great craft beers, but they have a few other options to enjoy, food, and plenty of seating to knock out some work or catch up with friends. As you walk into HOB, I couldn't help but admire the structure which feels very fitting for this place. As you walk into the space you'll see a limited number of tables and a few community tables in the back, but the true space is their covered outdoor patio space on the left hand side. (This is also where the bathrooms are situated.) It was pretty lively around 4pm on a Thursday and there was a mixture of folks who were working or simply enjoying themselves. Now the personal star of the show for me was their pretzel with a cup of queso and grain mustard. Gosh I couldn't help myself but wonder if it was worth ordering a second one for the table. Parking is somewhat decent but I think it might be easier to rideshare here! Such a fun spot to check out, highly recommend.

Sunday afternoon lunch at this very cool downtown spot. I was pretty impressed with the large free parking lot that was offered, and we were lucky to find a spot right away. The outdoor space was welcoming and communal, and we quickly found a table to fit our party of 6. We ordered at the counter (sadly they were out of some things we were looking forward to, which was strange on a Sunday around noon). They also only allow you to order from the brunch menu during brunch, so the menu is somewhat limited. Regardless we were still excited to get a burger and the fried chicken with pancakes. Food came out fairly fast! Burger was pretty good, but the fried chicken and pancakes were indulgent and delicious. Weirdly reminded me of the flavor of a McGriddle haha. But in a good way. All accounted for, vibes were great and food was good. I'll look forward to coming back and trying their regular menu!

We tried the chicken sandwich the original. The chicken sandwich was crispy and soft. The burger was good for a brewery. 8/10 burgers

After a long day of traveling I sat down for a tasty beer as the sun was getting low. The beer and atmosphere were a perfect wind down before dinner. I will return.

Happy Hour Double Cheeseburger and fries. $6-ish each burger plus the fries around $5.

Good beers! Good burgers! Happy Hour prices on food and drink are fantastic! Large outdoor campus, some covered, some not. We sat on the outside covered patio to get some shade and love from the fans. It was a hot August day. Order inside from happy staff and they'll bring out your food. A nearby store associate told us she eats here once a week. I would too if I worked nearby and have beers after work. It's a typical brewery pub in most ways and that's good enough for me.

Stop what you're doing and get here. I had two IPA's that were both awesome. My favorite was the Juice Goofin'. We got the fried chicken sandwich and chicken burger and both were fantastic. Huge portions, too. Chips and queso was bangin. Counter service is quick and friendly. Awesome outdoor seating area with plenty of TV's. If there were six stars, I would give Hold Out six stars. Awesome.

I would give this place 5 stars bc the food was yummy and the vibe was chill. I got the veggie burger which was epic cuz I've never had a vegetarian SMASH burger before. It low-key fell apart pretty quick, but it was Hella!! Yum!! and I just used a fork and a knife to finish it. The pickles were so fire duh. Also really loved the bun. I also got the curly fries which I was Hella excited for and they were good, but not as crispy as I would've expected and also low-key this is crazy, but the ranch was not fucking good in my opinion. It was pretty different than traditional ranch and I'm sure the right person would appreciate it but I was just expecting normal ranch and this m was not it lol. But I can't even hate because overall the food hit the spot & was sufficient and I appreciate the outdoor seating area and how dog friendly they were because i came here to fuel up and do schoolwork and I ate my lunch and it was yummy and then I did a little bit of schoolwork. The parking situation wasn't IDEAL.. I ended up having to park about nine minutes away and a random neighborhood... But I am able-bodied so I can't complain about the trek. Would def return w my dog, my thx fam !

Great smash burgers. I recommend the double since the single is a bit small... and add cheese if you like. The curly fries are good too if you don't mind the extra carbs. The beer selection is pretty good too. Service is solid. And fun place to people watch.

This was our first visit to Hold Out Brewing and we were relieved to find plenty of free parking behind the building. Most of the seating is outdoors although there is some inside seating. The weather was wonderful so we picked out a table under an umbrella. You place your order inside at the bar and they bring it to your table. We ordered half pints of the house beer and the light beer. My beer tastes are rather narrow so I found the beer okay but wouldn't come back for it. (Next time I'd try a raspberry cucumber tonic.) We had a chicken bacon ranch burger, a regular burger, a classic burger on lettuce (to make it gluten free), curly fries, a Hold Out Cobb salad and chips and queso. The food was okay. The salad was really tasty. This is a great place to sit outside and enjoy a beverage with friends.

Great food as usual and pretty packed. Good vibes. Burger is always consistently in the 8-9/10 range, and the fries are always in the same.

This spot is perfect brunch/lunch spot. It's social and they have great outdoor seating! Even a little county pool so if you really wanted a dip you could! We had some local brews and they were great. Came back the next day for brunch which is Available Saturday and Sundays starting at 10! Ordered a Bloody Mary which was yum yum. And then their Japanese pancake and fried chicken. That was so bomb. Chicken was juicy and crispy and the pancakes were semi sweet and so fluffy! We also got their smash burger with fried pickles... all I can say is YUMMMM everything hit the spot great burger, so juicy, seasoned nice. Great pickles and the best seasons bun I've yet to have! Fried pickles were thick and cooked perfect with a dill ranch which was bomb.Com as for service they are cool this is a more self sufficient place you order at a counter and can earth we start a tab or close out and you kinda do the rest. They will deliver food when ready!

I love hold out brewing. From beer to food they are very delicious. The service is great too and it's pet friendly! It's open seating with indoor and lot of outdoor options.

Yes they do plus they are dog friendly.

Can a friend's teenage daughter join us for dinner there? Not sure if breweries allow minors. And do you have gluten free options?…

This is a full service restaurant that allows minors. People are carded at the bar, not upon entry.

It's definitely an accommodating, welcoming space that's designed to sit and stay a while. You can bring your own family, of two and four legs, and no one would bat an eye. The beer is great and the bartenders will graciously guide you through the list if you're uncertain. Service is quick, easy, and to the point. You can go from zero to raising a glass in under a minute if you wanted. I didn't investigate the food situation but I hear it exists. I am going to go with a minority opinion here…read more But I am sticking to my guns on this one. I think the Zilker Brewing Company is a terrible brewery. Okay - I only had two of their beers ... so I may have been freakishly unlucky. But since there were only 13 beers on the menu - 2 out of 13 both being bottom 1%-ers is not at all an auspicious sign. Yeah, they were both seasonal specials and not Zilker's mainline offerings. So it could be that the mainline offerings are better. I still don't like those odds. The two guilty beers were a) LA Pilsner which tasted like nothing. The bartender told me that this is a beer drinker's beer. Beer that tastes like nothing so it can be consumed in quantity is called "swill" in my book. b) Culture Creature which is a fruity IPA. This tasted more or less like cleaning fluid. * * * Now to be sure, the Zilker Brewery was unlucky on two counts. 1) I was there for a SXSW showcase. They are an outdoor venue - and the night was unseasonably cold. The Zilker Brewery does not control that. 2) It did not help that the first two bands of that showcase stunk up the house so badly I left the the showcase in disgust. (Including the once-good band I had explicitly come to see.) * * * However, as a Yelp reviewer, I do my best to be fair and objective. I ran into the two-bad-beer problem before I hit the freezing-my-ass-off problem and before any of the bands had started playing. So I knew where I stood on the beer before these other distractions emerged. Suffice it to say, I am not coming back here to drink any time soon.
