Parking is also very convenient, with spaces available both in front of the brewery and in the back. As an IPA fan, I really appreciate that they offer several IPA options, along with a variety of mixed drinks for anyone who wants something different. Hold Out comes to you from the fellas behind Better Half and Little Brother. They really seem to knock it out of the park with their different venues. Dig this brewery and their pours. They have a really extensive beer menu with delicious choices. Some of the best craft beer I've had. Great space with two levels. The interior lower level isn't large but can hold a decent amount of people. Lots of outdoor seating covered and uncovered. They also have an upstairs bar which is really chill. I'm a huge beer fan. I'm always looking for new breweries to try out and this spot is fantastic. They have a wide array of delicious beers to drink. I'm a fan of the outdoor patio. It's spacious and it's covered. So even when it's hot outside, it doesn't feel too bad. They also have tons of fans outside. I went here for brunch with my wife over the weekend and the food was great. We tried the chips and queso and chicken and pancakes. It filled us both up. I've been hearing about Hold Out for quite a while and we finally decided to stop by as we were in the area. I'm really pi$$ed that we waited so long as they have a great space, wonderful beers, and excellent Appies. Their covered patio is great space to enjoy one of their wonderful brews and grab a bite to eat. It took us a while to order our beers as they label them with unique names like Ol Gil and Nocturna. There is a beer for everybody ranging from Pils to Hazy IPAs to even a Saision. Not a beer fan there are plenty of other options such as cider, frozen drinks, and wine. We ordered the chips and queso and fried pickles. Both were delicious. I enjoyed the pickles as they were not heavily breaded and lightly fried. The miso ranch was an interestingly good accompaniment with the pickles. We were bummed that were out of the jumbo pretzel, next time for sure. Dis and Dat: There is parking in the rear. Finally had some time to check out Hold Out Brewing and not only do they serve some great craft beers, but they have a few other options to enjoy, food, and plenty of seating to knock out some work or catch up with friends. As you walk into HOB, I couldn't help but admire the structure which feels very fitting for this place. As you walk into the space you'll see a limited number of tables and a few community tables in the back, but the true space is their covered outdoor patio space on the left hand side. (This is also where the bathrooms are situated.) It was pretty lively around 4pm on a Thursday and there was a mixture of folks who were working or simply enjoying themselves. Now the personal star of the show for me was their pretzel with a cup of queso and grain mustard. Gosh I couldn't help myself but wonder if it was worth ordering a second one for the table. Sunday afternoon lunch at this very cool downtown spot. I was pretty impressed with the large free parking lot that was offered, and we were lucky to find a spot right away. The outdoor space was welcoming and communal, and we quickly found a table to fit our party of 6. We ordered at the counter (sadly they were out of some things we were looking forward to, which was strange on a Sunday around noon). They also only allow you to order from the brunch menu during brunch, so the menu is somewhat limited. Regardless we were still excited to get a burger and the fried chicken with pancakes. Food came out fairly fast! Burger was pretty good, but the fried chicken and pancakes were indulgent and delicious. Weirdly reminded me of the flavor of a McGriddle haha. But in a good way. It low-key fell apart pretty quick, but it was Hella!! Yum!! and I just used a fork and a knife to finish it. The pickles were so fire duh. Also really loved the bun. I also got the curly fries which I was Hella excited for and they were good, but not as crispy as I would've expected and also low-key this is crazy, but the ranch was not fucking good in my opinion. It was pretty different than traditional ranch and I'm sure the right person would appreciate it but I was just expecting normal ranch and this m was not it lol. This was our first visit to Hold Out Brewing and we were relieved to find plenty of free parking behind the building. Most of the seating is outdoors although there is some inside seating. The weather was wonderful so we picked out a table under an umbrella. You place your order inside at the bar and they bring it to your table. We ordered half pints of the house beer and the light beer. My beer tastes are rather narrow so I found the beer okay but wouldn't come back for it. (Next time I'd try a raspberry cucumber tonic.) We had a chicken bacon ranch burger, a regular burger, a classic burger on lettuce (to make it gluten free), curly fries, a Hold Out Cobb salad and chips and queso. The food was okay. Stopped by for a burger (it's supposedly a top 10 burger in Austin) for Father's Day. We ordered a brunch burger, curly fries and my husband got a dark lager. Hubs said the beer was good - malty and dark. Didn't wait long for the burger to arrive - it was impressive looking. Very sloppy. Lots going on - bacon, egg, two burger patties, a hashbrown, cheese, some kind of sauce. I would say it was a bit of a let down (I had a few bites). The beef patties were def well done and while there was a lot going on, it didn't really have a great flavor. My husband, who was the main eater of the burger said that he enjoyed it so that's why it's a 4* overall. The curly fries were ok but def not anything that knocked my socks off (likely just frozen and fried not fresh). Lots of outdoor seating (covered with fans); some indoor tables as well. Parking was sparse but some spots available so expected for the location. Overall, I think the burgers would hit if you've been drinking but I wouldn't come back for one let's put it that way. I came here for brunch on a Sunday morning while visiting Austin. I had the pulled brisket, egg and potato dish along with a lavender lemonade. I sat outside to enjoy the sunshine but under the safely of an umbrella. The service was a bit on the slow side but the outside areas were great for people watching. I'm always surprised by how busy Hold Out Brewing is- but we never have to wait in line. This seemed to be a popular spot for running or cycling groups to stop by and have a beer. My husband and I visited on a Tuesday evening and we ordered the fish sandwich, the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, and a side of curly fries. The fish sandwich was moist and delicious. The curly fries were seasoned perfectly. The chicken bacon ranch burger was the only thing we didn't love because it seemed a little burnt. Happy Hour includes $6 burgers (both beef smash burger and veggie burger) as well as a special on the house margaritas and, I believe, a dollar off select draft. The selection looks great! How many times have I driven past this place? Lots of parking, a lot of seating, football on the TV's (TX has already won, all the other guys are on), and a great Hazy IPA. My apologies, we ordered a pretzel and it was freaking delicious and I didn't get a picture. I didn't think about it until the tray was empty and the cheese dip was empty. We came here on a Wednesday night for a meet up. The parking was pretty packed but we manage to find a parking space. There is a lot more parking in the back. The outdoor patio is really nice and the weather was also accommodating. The picnic style table and the easy going environment promotes networking with new people and a good time talking with friends. We had to go inside to order food but they give us a number and bring out the food. I ordered some fried and burger and it was good. Although it was pricy for what it was. I spend 25 on fries and burger. But I also pay for the environment and the atmosphere. So it was kind of worth it. Overall, a great experience/place to just meet new people and hang out with friends. A classic for casual counter-service brunch or lunch, either menu is super solid, and welcoming to vegetarians as well. Yes, it's bar food but better, and I'm dressing my Cobb Salad with some extra protein - options of pulled smoked, fried or (they claim better than the real thing - faux) chicken. This Cobb is a unique one with a blend of lettuces & textures with the unusual addition of mozzarella, crispy bacon & sunflower seeds, cherry tomatoes & pickled red onion for acidity & tartness. The generous miso ranch dressing is heavy on dill, leaving a rich but clean finish to every bite. If I were to design it my way, I'd add some fresh jalapeño for heat and stick with the smoked pulled chicken next time.
