I'm not one of those people who updates a review each time I visit the same place. Unless of course, it's warranted (ie bad service or better service). This warrants an update because my initial review was nothing more than a couple of sentences and written long after I'd visited multiple times. Brewtorium opened back in 2018 and I've been several times during our twice yearly trips to visit family (prior to relocating to ATX). Ok, so... Going from four stars to five and I'll explain in a minute. First, I want to say how incredible the service is. As are the pours and food. Never once have we had a bad experience. It's a really welcoming spot with stellar beers. I love that they offer a mix of food options from traditional German brewery food to traditional American brewery and pub food. Here is why we're going up a star: during our latest visit, I walked over to our table after ordering and spilled my beer everywhere. Before even getting a sip lol. A staffer immediately came over with towels, cleaning products, and a fresh replacement beer. All without making me feel foolish or embarrassed. Next, we attended an event in the private room and it was perfect. Service continued to be above and beyond. Finally, I'd like to thank the brewmaster and brewers for "The Lost Mambo" and to beg that it stay on regular rotation and not seasonal. Gang, this is the greatest beer!! My absolute favorite. It's an Italian pilsner (only 5.5 abv) w/lemon biscotti. Wow. Wow. Wow. One of my fave breweries. Hands down. Support local. Great beer, great vibes, great food, fast service. We visited recently and had such a good time. While busy, we got through the line incredibly fast, had a lovely interaction with a staff person, and got a seat at a large table with no issue. We ordered a variety of salads (literally so good) and fries as well as flights of beer. I was really impressed with the beer (I had one with electrolytes that was so good)! My employer occasionally hosts after work "team building" get togethers at various spots around town, the latest of which brought me to Brewtorium for the first time. I loved the experience and will definitely be back later with friends. As an old school Euro beer afficionado, I was pleasantly surpised at the excellent menu https://thebrewtorium.com/drinks of options. When I mentioned it was my first visit, the excellent bartenders offered me tastes from several taps - yay! I tried a selection of pils, red ale, kolsch, and lagers before settling on a tasty Czech pilsner. Yes, they also have plenty of IPAs if that's your thing, as well as ciders, mead, wine, frozens, and tasty NA options. There are tons of standard bier garten picnic-style, communal tables inside - the space is cavernous - as well as some sweet shaded spots in the back outside facing Airport Blvd. You can park at the back of the side lot and access entry through the back patio area. If you do, you'll pass the axe throwing rooms and restrooms on your way down the long hallway to the main seating area. The thin crust pepperoni pizza was excellent and I enjoyed the hummus with veggies and crispy bread sticks (mezze platter, maybe?). I have no idea about any of the prices since I didn't foot the bill for this meal, but from the diverse crowd I saw, I'd expect prices are on par with other beer halls in town. Another successful event coordinated by Carolyn H at the Brewtorium. Just a one hour event this time for a few of us to listen to our companies quarterly earnings call. We did not have a private server so we just ordered at the bar and then the restaurant didn't open until 4:00 so we just waited to order some snacks after 4:00. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries this time and it was delicious, I will definitely get that again! I always get the red wine in a can, I think it's equivalent to two glasses of wine so it's a great deal and the wine tastes good. 3/5 for food, but 5/5 for vibes. We came with a big party, so I got to try a little bit of everything. The pizza was just okay...could've used more flavor. The pizza with blue cheese was a bit too pungent and overwhelming for my taste. The burger was decent but not very cheesy or memorable. The pretzel leaned dry, and the sausage was pretty bland. Fries were probably the best. On the bright side, the service was great and the food came out quickly, even with a large group. The vibe here is honestly the standout. A group of local CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) got together today at The Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen for Happy Hour, located across the street from the Austin Community College - Highland Campus. It is a central Austin location for craft beer connoisseurs and casual food diners opening a 4 pm daily. It offers a large space for groups and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Brewtorium is a convergence of a German-style beer hall with a modern styled brewpub. This brewpub has a variety of house-brewed beers such as pilsners, Kölsch, and hazy IPAs, all crafted on-site. Some of the standouts include Flying Hive honey blond ale and barrel-aged stouts. The Brewtorium has a ginormous indoor beer hall and two outdoor beer gardens with picnic tables appealing for large groups, events or family gatherings. There are also private enclosed rooms that you can rent for group activities. In addition, it is dog-friendly, with space for your fur babies in the outdoor seating area. Overall, the vibe is relaxed and super chill.] The menu is not the typical brewpub food or drink items. The restaurant has house-brewed beers, sides, ciders, shareables, pizza, pub grub, big ass salads and bowls, frozen cocktails and wine. In addition, they have a kids menu. Brewtorium offers traditional pub food items such as burgers and Reuben sandwiches. The menu also includes German dishes such as Flammkuchen (a thin-crust pizza-like dish) and the Bratchos--potato chips topped with bratwurst, beer cheese (yep!), curry pickled onions, and cilantro. We went here to go ax throwing which we never did. It's a very hard sport but we had fun. We had some drinks. The drinks weren't bad. I'm not a big beer person so I got wine. The wine was good and the experienced learning how to an ax was also interesting when we never have done it so it was it took long for us to get used to it but we made some shots. read more

The Brewtorium has a good vibe! I've been a few times, and my workplace does events here often. The seating area is large and the event space in particular is nice and intimate, it's great for meetings. The food is pretty good too, it tends to be pretzel bread sandwiches and macaroni/salad, pretty standard stuff. I LOVE their piña coladas, they're fantastic! And of course they have a big selection of beer as well. The casual vibe makes it a nice place to hang. They have a parking lot that is always full in the evening but thankfully they have a small area just on the dirt/grass, as well as some street parking that is available. Every time I go I'm worried I won't find a spot but I always do. They also have very clean bathrooms, and friendly staff! read more

Service was fast and efficient which is important when you have so many great greats and food (pizza was amazing) to choose from. Stopped in for a little drink a few days ago. We found free parking outside the brewery, but it was the last one available. Not sure if there is more parking elsewhere, but it was just a few spots along the front. We headed inside and found that it was pretty busy. There were lots of families with young kids, so it was a little loud. There was also a hockey game playing on the tv, which could have been why there were so many people. The beer was ok! I got a stout, and it wasn't the best I've ever had, but good enough. We didn't order food, but other tables had food and it smelled appetizing. We were waiting on food from somewhere else so we didn't order any. Not sure if I will be back solely because I'm not often in this part of town! read more

Both times I went there was for a BTS fan event. They always make fun themed drinks for the occasion. And the bartenders remember the BT21 characters names which was really nice! It was busy with people attending the event and the music choice was appropriate for the event. Another half of the venue was blocked off for people who did not participate. My family and I decided to go to the Brewtorium for lunch. We got there just as they opened. The restaurant is big, open, and bright with lots of tables to choose from. I also noticed a private room that you can rent. Upon entering we grabbed menus, went up to the bar and placed our order. The man that took our order was friendly. After ordering we grabbed some water from a station set up with water, cups, utensils, to go boxes, and other items. Then we chose a table to sit at and waited. To share we ordered a Brewhouse Queso which is a white queso that had a little bit of salsa and pico on top of it along with tortilla chips. The Queso with chips was a good starter. The salsa mixed into the queso gave it flavor and the tortilla chips were crispy. We also ordered a soft Pretzel which came with a small Brewhouse Queso and a small Mustard and Garlic Herb Hummus. The Pretzel was nice and hot with plenty of salt. I liked the smooth texture of the flavorful hummus. For my lunch I ordered the Straight Shooter Burger which is a beef patty with spring mix, tomato, red onion, pickles, and a garlic aioli. I added an egg and avacado to the burger. It came with a side of fries. My husband also ordered a side of the Dill Pickle Potato Salad for us to share. The Burger was delicious. The meat was good and the other ingredients gave the burger texture and additional flavor. The Fries were good as they were warm and crispy on the exterior while soft on the interior. The Dill Pickle Potato Salad was just as it is labeled. The potatoes were mixed in there but not too big and the flavor was very pickley. To finish our lunch we shared a Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzel which comes with a choice of dipping sauce. We chose the Nutella Chocolate Cream Cheese. The Pretzel was nice and hot with a hint of Cinnamon Sugar that I could barely taste but the Nutella Chocolate Cream Cheese dipping sauce was really good. It made eating the pretzel addicting. We liked the food so much that we decided to get some Pizza to go. We ordered the Brewtorious P.I. G. which comes with a white sauce, prosciutto, kale, Fiji apple slices, cheese, and honey. The Pizza was delicious. One of my New favorites. The combination of ingredients gives the pizza a sweet flavor with a mix of textures with each bite. Overall it was a good place to eat for lunch. This place never disappoints. After the Blue Genie Christmas bazar we decided we needed a beer! Amazing Electric Lederhosen but a little rich so we switched to a lighter IPA. The crew is always nice and fun to chat with and we ordered a pizza that we thought we had had before but nope, it was a Brewtorious PIG with really STONG Gorgonzola on it. Nice, a little slow despite it not being crowded, but no major complaints. The space is lovely, impeccably clean, and it looks like there's a back area you can reserve for private parties and such. I couldn't get a good look inside since it was being used for I think a baby shower when I went last time. The food is delightful and the portions are pretty big. I have been told by several people that the Ruben sandwich is huge and delicious. I would not drive out of my way to come here, but it's still a solid place to go. Plenty of beers on tap and friendly service. There are often events hosted here. Last time we went there was, I guess, an esoteric market type of thing happening? Drag is not a crime. We are not going back. Today I attended one of the best drag shows ever at the Brewtorium. Really don't know where to start, so let's go with drinks. To me the Flamingo bomb was a very tasty hazy IPA. Very fruity and delicious. I switched to a michelada after made with their Day Drinker lager, Momo's and a lime. This mix was the very best. You can never go wrong with Momo's as a mix and it paired so well with the Day Drinker lager. My always go to is their soft pretzel and the IPA mustard, it's a never fail. I am a pickle fanatic and the dill potato salad was such a huge win. The vendors for this event were all inside which was a beautiful thing. So many and such a variety from personal health, amazing smells, healing products and gay life. They were all so friendly and accommodating. We can move on now to the drag show. Omg, it was one on the best. Beautiful people. On tables, off tables, splits, and pure beauty. Extremely well done. The DJ is one of my all time favorites. They were absolutely on point with each and every song. Then finally let's recognize Whitney, owner of the Brewtorium. I went to the Brewtorium after shopping at Blue Genie - it's right next door! Very spacious, so even when busy, it wouldn't feel claustrophobic. Pick up a menu by the door, find your own table, and then order at the bar. The drink selection is large, and I am gluten free, so I was expecting not to have options, but there are ciders and meads on the menu too! The food was amazing, I got a salad and subbed the chicken for avocado. We also got a side of fries with garlic aioli which was INCREDIBLE. The bathrooms were very clean, the bartenders were kind and friendly, and the service was super quick. I would definitely recommend the Brewtorium! read more

I love this spot. The bartenders are always super friendly and helpful. They take their time answering any questions you may have and let you sample if needed. I love their support for the gay community. They recently released a Big Gay Beer and IPA and it is insanely delicious! Proceeds also go to a good cause, such a win-win. They always have a full house with families playing board games with their kids (the tame kind). Overall the vibe of people always reminds me of "Old Austin", just kind of laid-back folks. Lots of space in the back patio too which is dog friendly. It is a huge space overall. They have some private rooms available inside too. I stopped by brewtorium a few times during my day at the Lone Star Zine Fest. It was fairly quiet inside, with some lovely polka music... but as the day went on the large brewery became crowded with people, the polka band started becoming more and more rowdy, there were Oktoberfest contests outside that were loud and festive. I thought it seemed so fun... I ordered a blues on the greens salad which featured blue cheese on spring mix with pecans, a vinaigrette, apples, and pork belly. So good! Service was quick... they texted me as soon as my order was out. I wish I had tried the brewhouse special with the pretzels and dip, I saw someone holding it later and it looked good. Arrived to Brewtorium shortly after 5:30 and it was fairly quiet. Walked right up to the bar and ordered with Dustin who was very kind! As I was not in a IPA kinda mood I went with a red wine - don't get red wine here it's no good. My partner went with a flight and truly enjoyed 3/5 beers he chose. I tried them and can say I liked their special for the day (or week/month/season not quite sure), the Flying Hive. The Brewtorium holds a wide selection and has a great concept. Order at the bar when you're ready for more, you're not bothered by servers, and food is also available. We ordered the pretzel and a separate order of queso n chips. LOVED the pretzel, get it. It's fresh and soft. The queso is delightful, ya girl is a queso kinda girl and this is definitely a place to get it. Its valentine's day, and I need to find a dinner place that is exciting for an IPA loving girl. The place needs to have good food too so I look for brewpubs and find brewtorium. The original plan was to go for lunch but they don't open till 4 PM so we went for dinner instead. Its sort out of in middle of nowhere but there is ample parking and the ambience is nice The queso and the corn bread (special for Valentine's day) were very good and the beer was excellent. The place is ok, not any different than other similar businesses. The lager beer I had was excellent, I didn't try any of the food. Only con about this place and maybe it was just the individual serving the drinks, but I was not allowed to buy two drinks at a time, so as not to have to stand in the long line again for a second drink, while my buddy next to me was allowed to purchase 2 at one time. When I returned to purchase 2 more beers, same server, allowed me to do so this time and was charging $19 dollars and change for 2 beers costing $7.50 each. I then asked to purchase the pitcher of beer costing $25.00 and was then charged $35.00. When I inquired as to the uncharge the server stated she had rounded up the price from $33. and change. I know there are taxes involved here, but the price descrepency is pretty steep already without the added rounding up measure used by the server. read more

We decided to come here after the lunch rush and grab a bite with some beers. I was hoping for a good burger, but their two options did not appeal to me. They do have some pizza options, but they were overly eclectic and no build your own option. I have to admit there's one thing on their menu that I've never seen on any menu and that is for $10 you can buy a pitcher of a beer for the kitchen crew. I have to admit, their food menu is limited and not a reason I would come back here for. The good thing about this place is that their beers are very much on point and are worth returning for. The only thing that I would ding them for is that they do not have any guest taps for other local breweries except for cider and mead. Inside, this place looks pretty industrial and you'll notice that the floor of this space is basically unfinished as if they had just got done ripping out all the floor tile. If you venture down their long hallway, on the side, you'll discover they have a private room for a small party and next to it is an ax throwing room and bathrooms. The outdoor seating area with about 2+ dozen tables is at the end of the hallway. As for the food, the chicken sandwich I had was fairly dry and their burger was surprisingly small. Fun place! We went to check out the art show and have a beer. There were tons of vendors and lots of cool things for sale. The venue itself is like a large Pinthouse Pizza (or Aviators)- long tables, open seating. You order at the counter and they text you when your order is ready. Our beers were great (though we don't remember their names). We also enjoyed a giant pretzel with mustard which was hot and delicious. There are plenty of beers to chose from, so give them a try. We've been coming here since it opened. It has been one of our go-tos ever since. But I think we're finally done. We've seen ups and downs over the years but the past 3-4 times we've noticed they seem to have firmly landed on crazy high food prices, mediocre quality, small portions, and nickle-and-diming. $18 for a small dry Reuben? $14.50 for a small burger? $1.50 a piece for dipping sauces for the pretzel that's 1/3 smaller and 1/3 more expensive than it used to be? We tolerated the price hikes for a while because the portions and quality were still there and neither are anymore. The beers remain great and $7.50 is comparable but food has just gotten out of hand. read more

My Fiance and I go to the Brewtorium at least a few times each year. Our most recent visit was a get together for our friend's 40th birthday this weekend. Their parking lot is usually full but there is plenty of street parking which I usually prefer anyways. The Brewtorium has a great space. Plenty of space inside which was good for our party of 40; there still was a lot of space and tables open for the rest of the people there. They also have tables outside and sometimes have a bartender out there too. They usually have 10 or so of their beers as well as a bunch of other stuff too (wines/ciders/meads). Last night, I had their tropical ipa as well as a vienna lager and dunkel. All were pretty solid and I can generally say that's the case for most of the beers I've had there over time. They recently added an ax throwing business in the back and though we peeked in from outside, I haven't done it yet but it looked fun. It's usually well staffed and peek times and their staff is friendly and helpful. We haven't tried a lot of their food but we do get their pretzel and add beer cheese almost every visit. My fiance loves it and swears its the best pretzel she's gotten at a brewery. read more
