What a great time to be able to grab a beer (if you wanted) this early in the morning while getting some remote work done. I, however, opted for the iced rose latte that was on the menu since I came in at 8:30am - soon after they opened for the day. Since I was the first customer of the day, it was sky's the limit for me to choose where I sat (which it still is even if there's people fyi) Anyways, I opted for a table nearest a plug to charge my laptop, by one of the windows where you can see them brew their crafts (hehe). My coffee came out swiftly and the girlie pop to at helped me was the sweetest! Wish I got her name. The coffee was strong! But just what I needed for this long day ahead of me. WiFi is stable and easy to connect to. Funny, the login info is on their menu! Their music was always absolutely what I love and needed for a Friday / to start my weekend. The entire time I was there - they were playing my JAMS! And to close out - parking is easy and free. There's additional parking next door. Bathrooms are clean. I visited St. Elmo Brewing to watch the Super Bowl with my community and finally try their beer. I had St. Elmo's Cider and it was crisp, slightly sweet, and refreshing. There were several food trucks so my husband and I decided to share a Detroit style pizza from the Pizzaria 313 truck. There's a lot of seating in and around St. Elmos. It's family and dog friendly although signs outside the entrances only allow service dogs inside. I look forward to coming back as they regularly have events like Trivia Tuesdays and Yoga Sundays. read more

I really like St. Elmo's Brewing and the pours they put out. Today (2/14/26) was my first visit to this location for their dog Valentine's Day party. This day started out drizzly in the morning but became a full-fledged rainstorm in the afternoon (of course when we were ready for the party). Didn't let the rare Austin rainstorm stop our guy, Sir Benjamin Doolittle from missing out on a fun time. It was a great gathering with Austin Pets Alive! holding an adoption fair (a few dogs left with new humans while we were there), Tomlinson's, Chewy Vet Care, & more. I had a lavender spritz mocktail that was super refreshing and flavorful. The boyfriend had a cherry sour pour, and we shared a frozen boozy coffee, while B-Boy enjoyed treats provided by the brewery, and a pup cup from Chewy. The service, drinks, and environment were spot-on, welcoming vibes you expect from a brewery. We're fans. Had a blast! read more

My fiancé and I checked out this new St. Elmo location for lunch, and we were so pleasantly surprised! Right when we arrived, it was nice to see so much free parking in the lot. Heading over to St. Elmo, we saw they had several food trucks out front, a big open space with picnic tables and play areas for kids and dogs, and an outdoor market that was happening at the time. We headed inside to see what the seating situation was like and easily found a spot. They were playing the Texas-Oklahoma football game on 2 tvs and a projected screen, which was nice. You could tell that most of the people there were specifically there to watch the game. The tables are really long and communal. Nevertheless, there is plenty of space for everyone. There are smaller additional tables where families with kids were sitting, too. We grabbed beers at the counter before heading back outside to order food. I ended up getting 2 tacos from the Pueblo Viejo truck, and my fiancé got a sandwich from Spicy Boys. There was also a shaved ice truck, but we don't get any this time around. The beers were delicious, and so was the food. I loved the space inside, as well. Tons of plants and cool decor, lots of tables, and a very clean and updated space. The festival was awesome and it was nice to see St. Elmo's had a few UNIQUE pickle cocktails. These were strange but delicious, sour and tangy! The vibes are great lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have solid food trucks if you want to grab a bite to eat. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have great recommendations depending on your taste and profile. They have a lot of parking and more parking near the space. The only reason for one star down. I had this weird instance that connected me to a WiFi network automatically once I walked in. St Elmo brewing is such a gem ! I love this quaint brewery and the chill vibe. There's indoor seating and outdoor. There's a couple good trucks. Spicy chicken and a Mexican food truck. There's plenty of beer options. I wish there were more mocktail options. I tried two of the mocktail and they were both very tart and acidic. Not a fan. We had spicy boys for dinner and ordered: * wings: 3/5 the flavor was ok and I wish the wings were more crispy. * naan and panang curry: curry was sweeter side 2/5 * tots: 3/5 crispy but super oily * our friends got the chicken nuggets and I think that was better than the wings. Same seasoning and flavor. 4/5 We went on a Friday night and were able to get a table outside and inside. Family friendly. Ppl brought their kids and this kids threw a ball and knocked our drinks over and got our clothes wet. The kids apologized but the parents didn't. SMH. Do I recommend this place? They had a DJ stage and had a DJ playing the night I went but believe they host a variety of shows, for adults and even kids. Ordering beer is the standard line to order and they have some pretty gnarly specials here for Oktoberfest that includes the steins of the Carl and the Oktoberfest beer. You got your regular food trucks here as well (thank goodness for spicy bois). The combo of beer + fried chicken sandwich is overpowered. Wifi is fast, so if you need to do work, this could be a place to do it. I love St Elmo Brewing. Look I'm biased, their namesake beer is Carl and I grew up hating my name because I never could find souvenirs with my name on it. Carlos, Carly and Carol but rarely a Carl. I love the original location so much that when I moved to Austin, I chose South Austin to be close to it. Over the years, my love for St Elmo has never waned. I've been part of the beer club for two years now and will keep it going for however long they keep doing it. There's always plenty of beer on tap so you're bound to find something you'll like. My favorites tend to be the lighter beers and the sours, and nothing hits like a cold Carl on a hot day. This location also has a coffee menu and non alcoholic beverages, making it more like the day to night spots where you can work from. The new location is on Springdale road northeast of the original location. I was able to come today a bit before the soft opening on Friday because I'm part of the beer club. There's not a lot around there but the new location is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating, a small kids area, two food trucks (Spicy Boys, and Pueblo Viejo), and a decent size parking lot. The space is really nice, it almost feels like a boutique hotel or restaurant with the terracotta tiled bar. The same muralist who did the colorful artwork at the original location and some previous merchandise and beer did a large one inside the new location. I thought the inside would be bigger but most of the interior space is taken up for the actual brewing, which you can see into. Being so close to the original location though, I probably won't find as many opportunities to come here but very happy for the team and a new location and community that can enjoy it. read more

This is St. Elmo's second location located just a short walk from 290 on Springdale and occupies a building which was formerly a strip joint. The building has been very nicely renovated with all the amenities. You can see the entire brewing operation through the windows inside. Plenty of parking and lots of space both inside and outside to sit at. Best of all they are unveiling three new beers (see photo below) which should get you through the door. But wait, there's more, they have additional taps for beers that they make just for the taproom only. No guest taps yet. Other drink choices include some wine, NA beer and a nice coffee bar. Feeling hungry? They hope to have three food trucks on site, but currently they have the Spicy Boys chicken truck and are adding the Pueblo Viejo truck. Hot diggity damn. Want a beer, come right over here! St Elmo is the bomb. I started buying beer to go from St. Elmo during Covid. The drive south was easy then from Pflugerville. My love was "Tiny Vikings" back in those days. I couldn't get enough. The staff were the best and your order was right on time. I graduated to "Smalls", when Tiny Vikings was phased out. Enough of history. I will always love the south location esp, Noah and Maggie, but we all know Austin traffic and the drive to and from was rough. Imagine the delight when the Springdale location was born. I followed feverishly for the grand opening. I got off early Friday and headed that way just to toast in one of my favorite breweries. Arrived at 2:30 pm and was in awe outside the building, absolutely beautiful and parking was amazing, but I was one of the first people there. Recognized a few of the south location there. Ordered my Smalls and basked in the glory of the new location. Inside is pretty dang big and the outside is huge. 2 amazing food trucks. Recognized the new GM from Meanwhile, very sweet and attentive. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. I just sat, sipped, and enjoyed. Tried the new hazy "Zero", talk about full of flavor and depth. So happy this is close to my hood. The place was packed by the time I left at 3:30. We came here with some family and friends on a Thursday evening. The parking lot was completely full! I asked and you could park in their neighbors lot, Reeces plumbing if needed. The feel of the place is so chill and spacious! I love the indoor and outdoor spaces. We spent most of our time outside by the kids little play area. This place itself does not serve its own food, but there are several food trucks out front. (Check my Pueblo Viejo review, I did try French fries from somewhere else, those were good too.) The people behind the bar are great. They're super nice and efficient. They pick up glasses quickly so if you ever have to wait for a table, they'll have one open as soon as someone leaves. There is plenty of seating in their spacious outdoor area. We opted for indoors since it was cold. We sat at a high top table for like six people. There aren't a lot of small table options, this is definitely geared toward group hangouts. That targeting is working because many of the spots sat large groups. She said they have tasters. We tasted a few and the bartender seemed irritated by the 2nd taster. We picked out a couple beers, drank them and came back for more tasters and she said "you're going to try the whole wall aren't you?" When you don't have flights, and we've never had these beers before, yes, I will try the whole wall. I used to look at St Elmo with respect because I've had their beers elsewhere and loved them. One of the best breweries in Texas. All their brews are consistently good. Reminds me of Humble Sea or North Park in terms of beer styles. Beautiful facilities inside and out. Love the coffee bar inside, they actually serve fantastic pulls of espresso and other coffee beverages which I've found tough to find in Texas. Outdoor area if kid friendly with playscapes and toys. If you hate children, this is not the place for you on weekends. They have some of the best taco trucks around. Spicy Boys it's amazing Korean style spicy fried chicken. They have a couple locations, but this one has the best service. Pueblo Vieja serves some "authentic" street tacos, another solid option. The only gripes I can share are, it's too far from my home and beer prices are a bit high. read more

Great beer in a beautiful location. With the in laws in town over Thanksgiving, I did the only sensible thing and went brewery hopping. First stop was St. Elmo, and it set the tone for the rest of the day. They open at 8AM, which is less crazy than it sounds, as they offer coffee and pastries. I was absolutely shocked at how many families were at a brewery at 10AM on a random Wednesday, but after spending some time there, I see why. The interior has huge ceilings, is light and airy, with super welcoming staff. They didn't even give my brother-in-law and I any side eye when we ordered beer at 10AM. They make good use of the outdoor space as well, with plenty of covered seating and a small space for kids to play. There were a LOT of children here on this particular day, which felt a little strange. The beer was top notch, I especially loved their mixed-berry sour (just the right amount of sour!) while my BIL raved about the Saucy Nuggs. I'm not a huge IPA guy, but he said it was the best of the day. read more

The kids area is fun/engaging for kids, but also mostly enclosed, has good seating options in shade for parents with a great view of the play area and a window for ordering with full view of the play area as well. I've been coming here since it opened but I'm just now getting around to writing a review. I love the south location but love this one even more since it's only 10 minutes from my house. They have it all here - plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, two fantastic food trucks, friendly, fast service, a chill vibe and a selection of fantastic house brewed beers. While they have a large variety of beer styles, I come for the sours. They pretty much always have one, and all the different ones they brew throughout the year are amazing. Passion fruit, raspberry, mango, blackberry, they brew them all. Love this place and so happy they are in the neighborhood. read more

Such good beer here! I had the West Coast IPA that I unfortunately can't remember the name of and couldn't find on the website as well as the Olly which is an English Brown Ale. That was my favorite beer there by far. It was absolutely delicious and very light. Staff was very cool too. Educational about the beers and friendly. Only negative that some people might have (not me) is that it is very kid friendly. So if you don't want to drink and have kids running around, this may not be the place for you. For me, that is not a deterrent. While I have no idea if I will ever be back in Austin, if I am, then I would definitely come here for a couple drinks one day. read more
