First and foremost, I have to say.. these were the most delicious French fries I've tasted in my life. The caprese salad was really good as well. I had some leftover salad and asked for a to-go container, since they use compostable containers, the oil from ghe salad immediately soaked through the container, I ended up leaving it instead of taking it home. Solid place. The kitchen is stacked and they have pretty good beer. Not the largest selection but good options regardless. They have and upstairs and outside. Great for groups or watching the sunset. A normal day of the week (even a weekend) FF is a 5. The beer is good, the staff is friendly, the pizza is tasty (not my fav in town but it's up there), and I love the two level outdoor area, plus its family friendly and has a playground which is fantastic when we are hanging out with friends who have kids. However, be wary of attending events here! We've been a couple of times now, both with live music, the latest during SXSW, when its just a shit show. Their parking is a little limited, now they have 2 lots which is usually fine for normal days but it's not nearly enough when they have an event going on. There are people parked on the gravel past the actual parking lot and both times we got to watch someone spin their tires trying to escape a parking spot they really shouldn't have attempted in the first place. Service was insane for this last show- someone booked a wedding reception on the bottom floor at the same time as this SXSW (not official but advertised as an ancillary show) event so only the top bar was open and the lines to order went almost all the way through the inside! It just wasn't planned well. I really do enjoy this bar but I don't know that I would go to another show there- think it might just be for random meet ups. read more

Our first time, but definitely not our last. Fast Friends is aptly named as its whole goal is help make connections. They have a variety of events (cross stitching, jewelry making, plant bingo, trivia and lesbian speed dating to name a few.) We stopped for some pizza and a cold beverage before a concert. First time here for a birthday party. We sat inside because it was so hot. I don't drink beer, but they had a Frosé, and it was a bit too sweet but nice and cool. Came to Fast Friends Beer on several occasions. It is a brewery that combines craft brewing, farm-to-table culinary, wellness and philanthropy into a unique hospitality experience that's unlike anything else in Austin. It has a large building that is tucked away in South Austin on 3 and a half acres. There are several floors of the building and they have indoor and outdoor seating options. The first time I came here for a free outdoor Rumble Kickboxing class they were hosting which goes along with their motto of fostering human connection. Second I was here for a birthday party and we had the bottom area reserved and I tried several of their food and beer options including *Pub Fries - golden brown and delicious, these hand-cut pub fries will make you happy *Pretzel Bites - classic salt pretzel with grain mustard *Pesto Caprese Salad - Pesto, Cherry Tomatoes and Mozzarella, topped with Basil, a drizzle of Olive Oil and Balsamic Glaze and a sprinkle of Salt *Margherita Pizza - red sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil leaves I was impressed with their food selection as they had some unique and healthy items. Everything I tried was very flavorful and craftfully prepared. Recently stopped by again for a networking meeting and finally made it to the top floor which was very expansive and plenty of space for meetings. Was here recently for an event with the kiddos, and we had a great time. The space is beautiful and open, with plenty of covered outdoor seating. The weather was perfect that day, and it's such a nice spot to be outside. There's also a designated play area for kids, which kept them entertained. The pizza was delicious--crispy crust with really flavorful toppings. The buffalo chicken was a favorite. Finally checked out Fast Friends a few days ago! I had been hearing about it for a while but never stopped in. We found free street parking right outside the brewery. We brought our dog with us, so after ordering inside, we sat outside. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available on 2 separate levels. There is also a huge play area for children. This is a family-friendly and dog-friendly brewery, for sure! We didn't try any of the food, but other tables had ordered food and it all looked and smelled good! I came in to finish up some work before heading home and was really glad to see they serve coffee as well as beer. I got a hot lavender matcha and it was very good! There is a lot of open seating inside and even outside. They had high tables, bar seating and picnic tables for seating. I just had the best avocado toast here! My vanilla latte was also pretty tasty. LOTS of indoor and outdoor seating. It also seems pretty kid-friendly - it has a playground and lots of space for kiddos to run around. The team was also eager to help and were very friendly. There appears to be two parking lots. I was here during the day on a Friday and there was ample parking. I could see parking possibly being an issue on weekends when it fills up. Fast Friends Beer has a wide variety of charm. From their events and beer offerings to the music playing over head this spot is a great spot to come get together with your friends. Take a seat on the patio to see some super great views of IH35 and the Austin downtown skyline. I have now come a few times both morning and at night for different hangs. For morning and daytime hangs there is a spot near the tv's to watch some sports or daytime shows and there are spots all along outside (wrap around patio and deck below) you can get comfortable at. As I have the ability to work remotely I have found that Fast Friends Beer has been super satisfying to come in early in the mornings. I even saw (haven't participated yet) a weekly early morning yoga that starts around 8am! They offer breakfast sandwiches, sweets, and croissants as well. There is a three tier clear small case on the bar nearest the espresso/coffee machines you should check out. I have seen the best and sweetest offerings here especially in the mornings. They have iced and hot coffee items to offer as well so don't worry about having to "wait" for the right time to get a beer. Service is friendly and the baristas/beer staff have never steered me wrong on the suggestions for their beer selections. They often have 1-2 offerings, from out of state, from other breweries and brewers. Ask the staff what is new and what they recommend. They would, naturally, know what everything tastes like on the menu and if they don't they will offer you a quick sample if you want to try for yourself before committing to a pint. Whether you come to meet up with friends to share a 12 count of wings or a whole pizza OR you come for a couple of beers to get through a couple of chapters of a book there is room for you here. I checked this place out a few weeks ago during my friend's bachelorette weekend. When asked one of the employees advised me the place was just a few months old, a precious little baby. Inside it's spacious and clean. Outside the patio looks great and is dog friendly but unfortunately it was raining when I was there so I didn't get to experience it. Delicious pizza. All pizzas can be made vegan and non-vegan. Healthy and tasty appetizers. I enjoyed the Brussel sprouts and air fried artichokes. The pretzel bites were also good. Wonderful service. The staff is great - everyone I've dealt with has been the best. The space is amazing. Once the sun stops hating us so much, this place will be perfect. Currently, Fast Friends is a huge beautiful brewery with an outdoor covered patio and a fenced in dog park on the side. Below, you'll see their next phase: a beer garden. Food: I would describe the menu offerings as healthy bar food. There are brussel sprouts, sweet potato wedges, fried artichokes, a variety of pizzas (ALL can be modified for vegans) and more. When we came last Saturday for lunch, a handful of items were already sold out/unavailable, which was pretty disappointing considering the weekend just started. If you're looking for specific modifications, I would order directly at the counter, as their current site is limited. Since my partner is lactose intolerant, it was harder for him to modify his pizza online. Lastly, pizzas are only offered in one size, so if you're eating one by yourself, expect to take home a box of leftovers! Drinks: If it has a high ABV, it's for me. After reading through the 50+ reviews, I thought I'd fill in a few gaps with words and photos. Before you set foot into this place, you need to know this is a cash free credit/debit card only establishment. The only access to this place is on the northbound feeder of I 35 and there are two entrances which lead to a rear parking lot and a front parking lot (take the 2nd entrance). There is no rear entry through a back road (Google maps says there is....wrong). Their beer menu features 13 beers on tap along with a couple of wine choices, one cider and one seltzer. Price range for beers is $5 for small pour to $9 for a 16oz hazy. Non-alcoholic choices include a soft drink fountain and coffee, no liquor sold here. They have five clean unisex restrooms, two of which have changing tables. Next to the soda machine, you'll find an elevator that will take you to the beer garden and barrel bar below. The barrel bar can be rented out for private parties and will eventually be home to barrel aged beers. There's just 2 flatscreens upstairs showing sports. They do allow service dogs inside, but your dog can sit in the outdoor area and there is a small dog park behind the brewery. We ordered a pepperoni/mushroom pizza and the crust was burnt and the toppings were somewhat lacking. It was good, but for the money there's better to be found. During the day it is quite common to see patrons on their laptops enjoying the free wifi and a drink. If I lived closer by I'd come by here for a beer and even get a four pack of their hazy to go for $18. When you close out your tab, you'll be faced with a tip screen starting at 20%.
