We stopped by Fitzhugh Brewing on Mother's Day with other family and littles. Plenty for the kids to do! Nice playground, and on M's Day they had face painting and balloon animals. We tried the special quiche plate (M's Day treat), burgers and chicken and waffles. All were good. Beers and mimosas also tasty. Great family outing place. We'll go back for sure!

Another trip to the Austin area means another trip to a beer garden I haven't been to, this one in Hill Country. Fitzhugh Brewing has a beautiful building, both from the inside and out, and sits on a large plot of land with plenty of parking and space to sit outside under shady trees. There is a large playground structure if you wanted to bring your kids with, a variety of drinks, not just the beer they brew, and amazing food. Here are the things I really like about Fitzhugh: -The general vibe and aesthetics. -The beertenders were all so kind and extremely knowledgeable. (I spilled my flight and they poured me a whole new one on the house). -There is a place for the kids to play if you have them. -Plenty of spaces to sit, both inside and out. -Offering drinks other than beer, such as wine, cider, and their in-house made hard-seltzers which are definitely the play. -The freaking food! This is the best beer garden food I have had in town. It is incredibly flavorful and easily the best thing about this place. I would seriously come just to eat. Here are some things which I didn't really care for: -Their beer. I started with a flight and ended with a few seltzers because I just really didn't care for their beer. -The sheer amount of kids there and the fact that nobody was really policing them. They were climbing on the playground in ways you weren't supposed to and parts of it (the siding) where actually coming undone and I could EASILY see a kid getting injured in the future. -The dusty outside. I get that it's outside, and in Texas hill country, and you have a bunch of people walking and running outside, but maybe put down some grass seed? I could see it being miserable on a windy day. Overall, a great spot to stop at while in Hill Country!

Perfect place to go on a Sunday night to grab a drink, enjoy appetizers and live music. The food was alright but the beer options were great. Also, the food came out super fast and everyone was super helpful. If you want to get out of the city for a drink during the week, you should go here!

If you're spending time in the Hill Country and need a break from the rustic country aesthetic come here for clean, bright, crisp farmhouse vibes. The beer tenders were very knowledgeable about the variety of beer that was brewed there and let us know that they change tap selections frequently which is always good to hear from a brewery. The food was just okay, bland and not memorable, especially compared to the flavors of the beer. My favorite brews were the Filipino Ube, how unique! And the Warped Window Hazy IPA. Such a bright, clean, and farmhouse in style. Lots of space for large parties and a great location for bringing along the dog or your children (there's even a nice playground). It can get a bit like Meanwhile in Austin as in overrun with children that are not being watched, but we were there earlier in the day to avoid that. There are picnic tables and chairs scattered about in your pick of sunny or shady areas, with plenty of room to have privacy for your party of people. We had some trouble with flys outside, but we had food and it is a large nature area

Fitzhugh Brewing stands out from the road with its white stylish farmhouse look. It was truly picturesque, and looked like they reclaimed lumber and windows to build this place giving it great character. The inside was the same where their designer did a great job with the look and layout. There was plenty of seating and could see the beer tanks in the back. Outside had a huge park like setting with more tables and a huge farmhouse style playground of the kids. I first ordered a Brew Deck Blonde Ale and chatted with the guy working here about the place and selection of brews. The beer was good and refreshing. My wife and I also wanted food so we studied the menu and selected the Fried Fish Tacos. I liked the atmosphere where a nice place to get away and take a break. They do serve soft drinks and if you prefer an alternate drink. Our food was brought to us and the fish tacos were quite good. It was designed to pair with your beer. It was a very friendly place in this Hill Country settings. The only things missing was to have chickens roaming around where the outdoor area was already fenced in like you see at the Austin Zoo. ;)

    Flight + burnt ends

Fitzhugh Brewing in Dripping Springs, TX is worth the drive from nearby ATX for not only the rolling hill country views, but also because it's a gorgeous spot with unique beer styles that will globalize your palate and has some to die for burnt ends! I wasn't sure what to expect when coming here, but the clean cut country aesthetic lends itself to the hill country vibe, but the beers are worldwide! I absolutely LOVED that they brew all sorts of beers from different countries and culturally inspired styles! They have this awesome world map with all of their past brews and their origins (there's also a QR code you can scan that takes you to their website where it features more in depth info on their past beers). I really enjoyed my flight here and being able to try a couple of styles I have never had before (and with over 5k beers under my belt, that's saying something!), but I gotta say, what really stole the show was their burnt ends! #BOMG were these things so damn delicious! The texture was perfect, the moisture was perfect, the burntness was perfect, the flavor and everything that happened after they went in my mouth was #perfection and they have haunted my dreams ever since. Needless to say, this place is a must-visit for the brews, chews, and views! Beers I had here: Prairie Fire Irish Red 4.8% Dutch Koyt Historical Beer 4.7% Sumerian Ale Honey Beer 4.5% Filipino Ube Pale Ale 5.3%

    Texas Bluebonnet saison.

Awesome food, we had the chicken BLT, with waffle fries and sweet potato fries. The chicken was perfect. For beers we had their brown ale, kolshe, and the Texas bluebonnet saison all three were fantastic. Wonderful outdoor area. I highly recommend stopping here is you are in the area.

I really really like this place! It's so spacious and it's bright and has plenty of seating, both inside and out. I only got a beer for Barks for Beers but honestly enjoyed the location. Got the Filipino Ube beer, which really tasted like ube. The sweet potato flavor was definitely there. It was a smooth drink that was easy to drink and might even be a good choice for those non-beer drinkers. Got some fried pickles and some wings. The fried pickles were good and while the wings might be too saucy for my liking, they were still good and had a nice smoky afternote. The service was great and friendly! Dog friendly and their bathrooms were so clean too. Also, for again for those non-beer drinkers, they do have other options like wine and stuff, just flip over the menu.

    Fish & chips

This brewery was a recommendation from a friend/local and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Blood Orange Saison beer after sampling a couple options as well as the fish and chips. While I'm not a big beer drinker, the beer was unique, flavorful and I enjoyed it! The fried fish was crispy, a bit overcooked and tasty. I thought the beer paired well with the fish and I would order again. The brewery building is absolutely beautiful and offers a large fenced in playscape for children. Service was great and even though I was given a heads up after ordering that my order might take a while because a bachelor party had just placed an order, my food arrived didn't take long at all to be prepared. I look forward to returning!

OH man, I want to give this more, but I can't say I'd go out of my way to go here again. Maybe 3.5?? Here's the thing ... it has it's goods and not so goods as most places do, but the do the goods truly outweigh the not so? I'm not too sure. Here's the list: The Goods!! * Dog Friendly - LOVE THIS as I travel often with my pups and it's important for me to be able to take them along. The outdoor seating was ample with lots of shade trees to sit under. * Beer Selection was pretty good and I enjoyed what I had, PLUS they served them in glass which I LOVE too! F*** the plastic glasses for good brew! * The Pretzel was pretty yummy - I really enjoyed the beer mustard it was served with. Had we just had beer and pretzels you could have gotten me to give it a 4 ;) * Totally casual setting - come as you are, ball caps, flip flops, t-shirts, dirty from hiking or climbing - you'll do just fine here. The Not so Goods: * The KIDS!! While this might be a bonus for some, it was not for me. Don't get me wrong, I like places that have space for kids to be kids, but they were EVERYWHERE!! Unsupervised, all over the place, running up to my dogs who were freaked out by them! Contain them to an area please so there's space for others please parents. * The nachos and Chopped Beef Sandwich with a side of coleslaw. Hmmmm, what to say ... The nachos were just something I could whip up at home, the slaw was dry and boring, and the chopped beef was underwhelming and covered in sauce. And seriously - serve stuff with utensils and napkins if you're making messy food! It wasn't terrible, but again - I wouldn't go out of my way for it. So over all - If I'm next door to it, I'd go back. But it's out there, so...

I came in here with friends and the kids on a Saturday evening to what we didn't expect - SUCH a great night ahead! Every Saturday they have musical bingo with kid friendly and adult prize options. There were like 3 kids birthday celebrations going on to top it off! So, it was pretty busy! Our food took awhile to come out due to my last statement (duh) but wow it was worth the wait. Mostly that Vendoro pizza, which was mouthwatering and devoured instantly (pesto all over the face with no shame). Since it was our first time there we got 3 beer flights and were satisfied with all of the options we had per our bartender's recommendations! I wish I could remember the guy's name that helped us but I'm sure I'll get it once I go again soon! Ah, it was just such a wonderful time. Super wholesome. Super family friendly. Everyone we encountered both customers and other workers around us were all so delightful too. Extremely busy at all times but service doesn't lack. Also, pop-up tents with local artisans selling their wares. Live music on the stage every Saturday. Food menu (we didn't eat). Really decent pours when it comes to craft beer. Shared the salted caramel stout with my boyfriend. Hands down one of the best stouts I've ever had (I fancy myself a stout snob). Even our fur boy, Sir B. gives two paws up (see photos). Bonus: band playing when we were there spied me in an Oasis shirt and did a cover of "Don't Look Back in Anger". Nice job, guys.

Same goes for any product containing alcohol, really. Moderation, friends. So back to the pours. When I say they're proper, I'm not exaggerating. I feel like they deserve some sort of acknowledgement from England because the beers are that good. The Whitby is an English pale ale and it goes down so smoothly. Then we went and found a place to sit. The dining area is huge with plenty of places to sit. There were also several water refill stations which is great. Someone eventually called our name and my husband picked up our order. My husband ordered an iced hibiscus mint tea to try. He liked it. I tried it and the hibiscus flavor was a little too strong for me. We decided to share two pizzas. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and the pickle pizza. The pepperoni pizza was good. This is such a cool, rustic, idyllic setting. They get extremely busy on the weekends but staff are fast and friendly with getting pour orders up. More than ample seating available. There's just so much available. Even with a lot of people in attendance, the amount of land allows for quieter areas should you choose so. The open fields have trees for shading as well. Well two actually, the Airstream has a men's and women's room. The covered patios are also large and have a dance hall vibe. Live music and deejays perform from under the covered patios. Food truck onsite (their own) & pizzas are made onsite too. The food looked really good though we didn't try any. We shared two pours (2-half pours) that were amazing. One was a sour which I don't normally like. This one, I liked. The table beer was perfectly refreshing on a hot summer day. Also had a hibiscus mint iced tea=yum. The beers are so special. Like the best of the best in craft beer world. Beers are made with water from their well and native wild yeast. The grains are locally sourced and certified organic. Other ingredients like fruit, herbs, etc. all come from Hill Country. You can absolutely taste the difference. Fantastic products and visit. Note: Because it's in the country and off the beaten path, the roads and parking lots aren't the best. Dusty with lots of rocks and deep holes. Be careful not to drive more than 5 mph.

They also sell those beautiful whiskey barrels at a great price. Definitely recommend this great place to hang out with friends, enjoy some good whiskey with a fun atmosphere.

We've visited once and are looking forward to a return visit soon. Lots of trees and outdoor seating, live music, food trucks, and a welcoming tap room. So let's talk about that tap room and the pours within it: There are 12 beers on tap (again, hence the name). We've not been through them all but the couple we've were up there with some of the best we've had in Europe. No joke. Like most breweries they have regular beers on tap as well as seasonal pours. N/A options also available. Helles on Wheels is a German lager (oh yes it is) that's light and refreshing. The Hero is also an amazing pour. I'm a huge fan of Hefeweizen and this is one of the best I've ever had. The McGregor actually really reminds me of Ireland. Like a beer you'd find in a quaint village and wish you could take it home with you. Lots of others that we need to get back and try out. Welcoming and fun place.

Their solution: FREE BEER ALL WEEKEND. Now, it's impossible to give anything less than 5 stars when it's free! We indulged in 4 Pints & ordered food/tipped back heavily enough to compensate for the freebies. It's simply a beautiful workaround to stay open & stay relevant- plus, staff are still getting paid. We did both the smashburger and chicken sliders - 3 of each & all different styles ($15/ set) - @ $5/ ea, that was kind of high but more variety. The single sammie is definitely a better value. They were tasty. Again, with free beer - hey, still a great deal! The grounds alone are worth the visit. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They shared the background story for this veteran owned business & it was all just very inviting. The beers we had were all good. My favorite was the dark stout, which was a very solid stout.

Fear not, the factory (distillery) in Buda isn't going anywhere. The folks here told me the property and buildings are being taken over and another business will be coming in. It just makes me sad because we love it here. We love everything about it and took for granted that it will always be here. The tasting room and distillery are huge and so tastefully put together. See what I did there? Lol. The grounds are the epitome of Hill Country. Amazing views of wildflowers, brush, and sky all about. Lots and lots of outdoor patio seating, food truck area, large indoor seating, tasting bar, large ordering bars, gift shop, games, and lots more. I'm reviewing as they're leaving because this is another one of those draft reviews that I've been waiting to be finished for a long time. I gotta get better at that lol. Anyway, that matters not because this place still deserves an incredible review. Absolutely amazing drinks and people. It (was) a great way to wind down after a day of outdoor activity in Hill Country. A+++++

The space is huge, staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the vodka flavors were unbelievably good. We had the opportunity to check out their newest, chocolate espresso which I predict will be a major hit. I plan to return for a longer stay and enjoy their outdoor space to eat, drink and soak up some warm Texas sun.
