We stopped by Beerburg Brewing on a recent Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend.  This place is one of the "trail stops" on the Dripping Springs "Dripping with Taste Trail."  The place is nice, inside and out, life music, playing on Sunday afternoon, sounded very good. Because of the holiday, the place wasn't that crowded.  Lots of folks going in and out of doors, so there were quite a few flies inside. We were seated immediately and given our card to post when we were ready to order. As noted in other yelp reviews, there wasn't a real clear explanation given about the posting of the "we're ready to order card," but we figured out that it goes in the small metal holder on top of the paper towel stand on the table.  Cudos for the perforated paper towels, we've been to other similar restaurants where the paper towels are not perforated, making it very difficult to tear off a sheet or two. We stopped two different servers to ask questions about several items on the menu before we ordered, both were generally unaware of how food was being prepared and put together in the kitchen.  What is sofrito rice?  "Uh, it's red rice, I don't know what's in it."  What are myacoba refried beans?  "Uh, beans that are mashed up."  You get the picture... Ultimately, we were able to order food and a flight of beers.  We ordered the brisket tacos and the flauta basket (electing to have 4 of the chicken flautas).  The food was excellent, ingredients very fresh, flavor profiles well developed, a little bit of heat in everything.  The brisket tacos were probably some of the best we've ever had!  The flautas were just downright decadent.  Rolled tortillas, deep fried, topped with charred jalapeno avocado salsa, pico de gallo, crema and cotija cheese.  Delicious! For our beer flight, we sampled each of the wild craft beers (ingredients foraged from the property and put in the beer) and the red pale ale.  I must say the wild craft beers were different, we liked the nope ale the best, it was almost like a rose wine.  The red pale ale was very good. Bottom Line:  service, average;  food, excellent;  beer, just OK.  We did not have a "gotta go back there" experience at Beerburg Brewing. read more

Cool vibe, nice staff, decent beer, VERY kid friendly. Like, "make sure you have kids or enjoy kids" kid friendly. Lotta kids. Great outdoor play area for kiddos, but also quite a few kids inside. Very large venue overall. Cool hangout areas outside for adults, too. Beer was decent. I wanted a nice dark, rich stout or porter since cold weather was arriving, but alas, no such luck. That was disappointing. Whatever brown ale we got instead was decent. Munchies were good. We got chips with salsa, guac, and queso. YUM. I'd stop here again but only after confirming ahead of time that they had the genre of beer I was craving - since, you know, it's a brewery and I'm going for the beer. =) read more

Off the beaten path out towards Dripping Springs - well worth the diversion on Fitzhugh road, north of 290. Large indoor/outdoor area, ample parking. Greeted at the door, got a little card you stick on the paper towel dispenser thingy at your table when you want to order. Wait staff shows up in seconds, brings your stuff out to you - no confusing "go here for your wooden drink token, then take it to that person over there, and they give you a chit to take to the bar....."(with a queue at each station), or, "order drinks here, then over there for food, then pick up at another spot......" Nope, just find a spot and enjoy the tasty beers and food. Extra friendly staff, pleasant interactions, all in all, glad we made the effort to get out here. IPAs passed the Hop Queen's snoot of approval, and the food is clearly superior to the usual pub grub - they have a real chef back there putting together food that is worth the drive all by itself. read more

| Beers | I like the concept behind Beerburg Brewing, including sustainably sourced and mostly local ingredients, and using Texas-grown herbs in their beer making process. This makes for creative beers, such as the Sourflower berliner weisse, made with yarrow to add the tartness and floral notes. It is a very unique berliner weisse! They also have several IPA and pale ales, which is my jam. I tried three and my favorite was the Flame Leaf IPA made with sumac, but I also enjoyed the Devil's Claw west coast style IPA. | Food | Regarding food, you can't go wrong with the tasty chicken flautas! They are topped with plenty of cotija cheese, pico de gallo, and a crema sauce. They pair well with beer! They also have made-in-house ice cream. | Atmosphere | It's a family and dog friendly place (dogs outside only). They even have a fenced off dog park area, which is great for pup parents. Whoa. Bit a of a drive outside of the city, but totally worth the drive. The smash Burger was incredible, phenomenal experimental beers, cool vibe and they have a disc golf course out back. One of the things that makes the beer special is they usually have a few rotational beers where they incorporate ingredients foraged on the property. read more

I chose to stop here on my bestie's recommendation. A year or so ago, she came here one weekend and would not stop raving about the food. She told me that I would like it....and she was right! I enjoyed the ambiance, the beer and the taste of the food. There is seating available indoor and outdoors. I came here on the way back from Fredericksburg. I enjoyed sitting outside as there were areas designated for dogs and there was a beautiful field of wildflowers in front of us. The servers were all very friendly and I appreciated that they took the time to answer my questions as it was my first time there. The beer that I had was refreshing and with floral notes - perfect to beat the summer heat. The food was very well seasoned and delicious. Never been here but saw they were having a New Year Eve at noon party and decided to give them a try. Band was still setting up at noon. We did our own cheers with the water bottles we brought. After waiting at a table for 45 minutes someone came out and asked what we wanted to drink but no food could be ordered. Their kitchen was overwhelmed. Band did a count down at 12:06. They finally started to play at 12:30. We got our drinks in 15 minutes from ordering. When he brought our drinks he said we can probably order food now, let me out get out a few more drinks. Ordered food and it took a hour. Band barely played and then took a hour break. Food was ok. My husband enjoyed his beer. Prices are high. Sounds like it was a great idea that was poor planned and even worst executed. Plus it was a beautiful day and we were on patio with a decent view and we were able to spend some time with a friend we hadn't seen in awhile. May give them another chance on a non event day. We came here over Memorial Day weekend and had a blast. It wasn't crowded which was nice because it was relaxing- although I'm sure that won't last long... we tried the flight and a variety of beers and enjoyed all of it! The staff was super friendly and the place is spacious and clean. We got the mushroom asada and the quesadillas and both were amazing. I loved the fried crispy tortillas that both came with. The plates are a little small for the price but I think it is well worth to try the food! We also got pistachio ice cream. I wanted to get a flight but we were already too full. I came here on a Thursday evening, maybe around 7, and there were only a couple other groups there. We had the whole patio to ourselves with just our dog and the sunset! The setting is hard to beat, a nice view of the hills, an area with trees and benches, and a dog park. They have an indoor area, too! The beer choices were plentiful and varied, and for non beer lovers they have other alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. We ordered flautas, brisket tacos, and patatas bravas. My favorite of the three were the patatas - great flavor, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also quite a bit for the price. The flautas were good - the shell was perfectly crunchy. But, the taste was lacking. This was the case with the tacos, too. Also, for the price, I think 3 would be more reasonable vs. 2... Though I was satisfied (not too full) by the end. Definitely order some ice cream! Both flavors we had were great - probably the best of the food tbh! Overall a great place to hang out with some friends and have a few drinks. Very dog friendly. Yet another boozy destination on Fitzhugh Road. Should have invested in property a few years ago... Nice venue with table service! I don't have to stand in line to get a beer! Yay!!! Hate me if you want...I've decided to stop tipping at beer gardens where I have to stand in line for more than 3 minutes. Good beer. We tried a flight of the lighter beers - all decent. Hubby liked the Sour but wasn't happy with the prickly pear milkshake IPA. I think he got exactly what he ordered... Had chips and salsa. Menu looks pretty good. Amazing food, they have chef doing an amazing job with food, appetizer trio is our go to. We also tried their tacos and many other things over the time. I love their setup, they have wide options in food including vegan or vegetarian options. They also have some good ice cream to cool down on a hot day, a lot of parking, indoor and outdoor seating area. My wife tried their jackfruit tacos and black bean tacos, they both were amazing, specifically their salsa and aioli makes it taste amazing. Beers are nice, I'm a sucker for Mexican lagers and they have a good mix of Mexican lager and blonde style beers. Hidden away by the ranches, there a cute little brewery with indoor, patio and garden beer seating overlooking a valley. Great beers and food. Had a little bit of everything and it was all very tasty.. They also have a small selection of wine and cider for the non beer drinkers. Nice view of the sunset too. People were friendly, service was fast, prices were decent and they had honkey Tonk nights Thursdays but they have a cover charge of $10 with no reentry. Great for a social night. read more

Everything we had was good. Nothing was just thrown together or slapped onto a plate. Everything we ordered was plated beautifully and tasted good. Because of covid most restaurants I've been too have been sloppy and rushed to get it out the door and not much care places in their food. The staff were very friendly and took precautions to keep themselves and us safe, which we really appreciated. I'm not a beer fan so I got a glass if the rosè, it was decent at best. My husband had a cider which was really good. We will definitely be back with our dog once it cools down some and the full menu is available. It looks like it will be amazing! Over the weekend we had the opportunity to travel down to Austin and stay at the brewery in our Airstream. This was a fabulous place! The beer that they are brewing is unique and flavorful, along with traditional street tacos and Mexican fare, which can be pretty competitive in Austin. When we first go there, I asked for a Topo Chico, which they don't have because they have something much better! If you want something refreshing to clean the palette before you start trying different beers, order the Hop Water! It is amazing! I really have to commend the staff, because they were friendly, attentive to our needs, and fast. That is a challenge in today workforce, and there is nothing worse than having great food and crappy service. While the beer and food was delicious - the one thing that stood out as exceptional was the ice cream flight. That is a must have if you visit Beerburg Brewing. The seasonal speciality was Atole Ice Cream and it was our favorite! read more

TLDR: A really pleasant brewery experience, if a bit out of the way So right off the bat, this place is beautiful. The "taproom" isn't really a room, and more of a tap cavern. Lots of seating, but enough space it still feels very spacious about. We got both appetizers and some food. for apps, we got the trio. The salsa was really really good. Queso and Guac were both good, but not exceptional. If I am being honest, I can't remember which two tacos I got, but they were fantastic. Everyone at the table really enjoyed theirs. I had two different flights, so I got to sample a large amount of their beers. they have a lot of really original and unique flavors, while still maintaining a lot of the regulars you see at a lot of breweries. It really gives this place a lot of individuality, while not making it niche. all of the beers were at least "pretty good". Of the 8 I tried though, none really made it to the "phenomenal" level, which is my one and only complaint about the place. 100% worth the visit, and amongst the best breweries in Austin. 4.75/5 read more

It was Record night where you bring in your own records and spin em. The Bartender had a couple of her own she was spinning which makes it a lot of fun. My wife and I needed a getaway so we loaded up our RV and looked for a place to camp at. We found this brewery just a few miles SW of Austin that just had STUNNING food! I had the chicken tortilla soup which was probably the best I've ever had. I also got a pair of chicken quesadillas while my wife got the pork tacos. Everything including the chips N queso was just great. The vibe was relaxed and easy going, it was quiet enough to enjoy the Motown music mix, our servers were friendly, the prices quite reasonable, and food was delivered within minutes. I think this is my new favorite brewery! What a quirky little place with amazing Mexican food and great beer and wine. The staff is friendly and takes their time explaining what's on the menu and even provides recommendations. Their food is fresh and delicious ... every item we ordered was so tasty! I LOVE that they have homemade ice cream ... a variety of flavors and some of them that are seasonal. I'm definitely coming back to enjoy their outdoor seating, try their other tacos and of course... ice cream!!! Potatos bravas - nice and crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Delicious seasoning. Great sauce to dip the potatoes in. Guacamole - oh so fresh! Again, just the right amount of salt and lime in it. Chips were fresh too. Brisket tacos - well marinated and cooked brisket (on the spicy side), with caramelized and pickled onions on a semi fried taco... yum yum yum Ice cream - chocolate with strawberry was great although I did wish they had more strawberries in it. Stayed here as part of Harvest Hosts and asked cousins to join us. Enjoyed a variety of beers, kombucha, and unique sodas. And the food (Ka Violeta Taqueria) was fantastic and very unique and creative. The ceviche style cauliflower was like nothing else I've ever had - delicious! Friendly service, great outside area with picnic tables, dog park and what looked like a play area for kids. Y'all. We decided to give this place a shot instead of Jester King, and i gotta say i was pleasantly surprised. I cant remember the exact names, but their IPAs were solid and well worth a try! But y'all can we talk about the taqueria? My partner ordered the cauliflower chorizo, and i got the pastor, and my word i was not prepared for how good the food is. Well worth the trip from Austin! For those with kiddos, they also have a pretty cool fenced in play area. For those with doggos, theres also a pretty great fenced in dog park area if your furchild needs to get off leash for a bit. Service was also super quick. Admittedly we got there not long after opening, but even as more people were sitting we never had an issue with ordering more for the table. read more

This place has some very different beers that were quite good! I'm normally a double IPA or hazy IPA drinker, and they didn't have much in that regard here but they made up for it with a number of unique and really well balanced beers. We met the owner and he introduced us to some of their other beers. Great experience. Definitely a place to come back and visit. read more

This was on our list of breweries to visit, location was nice but the general vibe was chaotic even with how few tables were seated. Staff were nice, but seemed like they didn't want to be there. Tried a few of the beers and they were definitely not up to the level of the other breweries we had visited, just a lack of body and flavor. We had a few items off the "taqueria menu" it was your run of the mill fried Mexican food (no fresh options) most of which tasted like it had been reheated so it was dry. The beans were good but a tiny portion. My friend had the smoked Tuna taco and after one bite rejected and decided it was way passed its sell by date. All in all nothing special about this place, overpriced and pretentious for the quality, will not be revisiting on our next trip. read more

Ok, they're very, very new - open only a few weeks when we first visited. We only tried the beer, so this first review is limited and will be followed by a future visit to try the food. The menu looks interesting, though the dishes we saw come out looked delicious but small. We only tired their in-house brews. The pale ale was, well, pale. It's a decent lawnmower beer suited for hotter days than the cool, breezy February afternoon that we were there. I had their amber, which I found credible - more full and more body than most of that ilk. Beerburg makes up for it by having on tap a large number of offerings from other area breweries, and, having sampled practically every other one on the list, I can vouch that it is an excellent spread. Their schtick at present rest with service and venue. The service is prompt and tech savvy. You stick a red card in the slot of the paper towel holder at your table, and a server is there chop-chop with a tablet to take and quickly deliver your order. You can even cash out that way without having to find a place at bar. The venue is mega dog friendly and kid friendly, with separate fenced yards for both. I anticipate that, as the weather warms and world spreads, they will become crowded and popular. I'll be back to test it again for food and a promised broader in-house beer selection. read more

I visited Beerburg for this year's Barks for Beers and was thoroughly impressed. The venue has plenty of seating indoors and the atmosphere was pleasant. So, the beer was delicious and the artisanal ice creams were incredible but when you visit do not forget to try the striped bass ceviche! Holy bajoles it is knock your socks off delicious. I'm looking forward to making the trek out to Beerburg again ASAP. read more

There's some jerk, I guess it's the owner that sits at the bar behind his laptop and chirps about the beers, that literally all suck. Brisket isn't supposed to be greasy in any way, you jackamos. Four of us visited the brewery as we were touring the Hill Country area. We stopped for a beer and appetizer. We were promptly seated and didn't understand that we needed to put up a 'flag' to get someone to wait on us. I'm sure they Told us that but was clearly a bit confused. Once we figured it out we ordered 2 beers and the Trio appetizer. Appetizer came out very quickly that included freshly made, thin tortilla chips (5), queso (3, thin and lacked flavor), guacamole (5; freshly made, great flavor), and a thick red salsa (5). We were practically done with the appetizer and still no beer. Went to the bar to find out and finally tracked the waitress down. She seemed distracted and unorganized but she checked and they were just sending to the table. Beer was very good. Had to track down the waitress again for our bill. Not sure I would return as there are many breweries to choose from in this area. Property was very nice, inside of bar/restaurant needed cleaned up. read more
