I've driven past this place multiple times and have never gone in! CMW is very spacious with plenty outdoor and indoor seating. The jams were amazing on a Saturday morning, great Neo-soul and R&B music playing on a sunny afternoon. I was unfamiliar with Central Machine Works game but I loved this! I met friends here for an afternoon hang. I don't like beer but a friend recommended I try Rotating Radler which was pretty good! It had ginger beer, agua fresca with a light lager ($5). The like the little sister to a Moscow mule! I'd order it again. Service was superb! The patio was very spacious and there's plenty of parking in the front! Parking spots were taken quickly even at 11:00am!
CMW is one of the best bars in Austin, period. The indoor and outdoor areas are huge, so there's plenty of seating. The beer offering isn't huge, but it's curated well enough with good local Austin beers, so everyone is happy. There's a stage outside for live music, which is a must for Austin (bring back the live music capitol!) Pricing is on the lower-average for breweries. Food is very good, not your typical bar food only. They have wood-fired pizza, nachos, burgers, the works. They even have trivia and movie nights!
Central Machine Works Brewery and Beer Hall was such a great experience. I ordered the burger with a side salad and it was huge and absolutely worth every penny. The burger was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and incredibly satisfying. The side salad was fresh and generous in portion, which made the whole meal feel well balanced. My boyfriend really enjoyed the beers and had nothing but great things to say about the selection and quality. I do not drink on Sundays, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The space is lively, welcoming, and just a fun place to spend time. The employees were extremely nice and made us feel right at home. Overall, it was a fantastic visit and I would gladly come back again.
This place is the trifecta! They have great events, great beers, and great food (especially pizza). Check out the concert series they recently started. Bands like Ghostland Observatory and Die Spitz have performed here for free! They have dance parties. And they have lots of dog events, such as the NUZZL Dog Lovers Dating app launch party! You can bring your dog here any day though. Staff is always very nice too. GPS will take you to the front on Cesar Chavez, but there is plenty of parking in their lot in the back which you can access from 5th!!!
This time we tried the mushroom pizza and it was actually really good! The person at a pizza counter didn't seem to want to be there, to be honest, and it took a little while to get the order but overall it was fine! The bartenders here are always nice and engaging with the guests so this is a huge plus. Might want to check what's going on the night you're going to visit: this time it was a chess night!
Stopped by here for some drinks and food. Was on my way to bring a friend back to the airport. The drinks here are really good. I think the Jell-O shots were a big hit with my friend. Bartender was nice. He crafted his own creation of drinks for us. It was a rum base drink. Ordered chips and salsa. Loved their salsa. Also ordered their lemon pepper wings. They were outstanding. I think it was 10 wings and I got a side of blue cheese dressing. Absolutely delicious.
Came back here for pizza. The crust was made really well for a pretty big pizza. Beer as usual is good at this place. There was a Christmas show and line dancing event happening at the same time.
Really enjoyed my visit to CMW! The wait at the inside bar was a little longer than I'd prefer, but the staff was working hard to work through the mass of patrons. Bartenders were impressively efficient. While I wish they made their old fashioned with bourbon instead of rye, it was surprisingly good. I hear the beer is great too! The outdoor venue was big enough to fit a good amount of people but small enough to make it intimate. They have a bar outdoors too that was a lot easier to get served at during the show. They had fans outside which was nice even though it wasn't hot last night. They kept the air moving which is nice in a big crowd. Not only would I go back for a show here, but when I do, I want to try their food.
Came Saturday night for a free show and ate a quick dinner before We tried the nachos (large) with beef and the smoked wings (lemon pepper) Both delicious!! The wings were crispy and the ranch was great The nachos were also really good, topped with queso, beans, jalapeños and pico! We added ground beef too for extra $4 I think The sandía spritz on draft was incredible - I had two and they were pretty strong too for a craft cocktail Service is order at bar / counter and you get the buzzer for food Food was out quickly - less than 10/15 minutes! There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors and dog friendly! Super cool spot and plenty of beer options too!

This brewery has both indoor and outdoor seating options. There is an expansive stage in the outdoor space where I have watched live music performances. I have been to a Prince tribute band show here. Also they host running events at this location including Eastside Beer Runners and events for Global Running Day. They have a variety on beers and cocktails on tap. You place your order at the bar and get a buzzer to notify you when your order is ready. My favorite is their Paloma on tab with teremana blanco tequila, Alma finca Yucatán Orange, clarified pineapple and lime agave. There are several drinks I am looking forward to trying on the menu including white lotus and mango sticky rice. I have also tried their green tea Jell-O shot. I also have tried some of their food items including *PRETZEL - CMW QUESO, KOLSCH WHOLE GRAIN MUSTARD *PEPPERONI PIZZA - CUP & CHAR PEPPERONI, MOZZARELLA, PROVOLONE, RED SAUCE They have a good selection of food items to choose from. Overall a fun place to hang out, but parking here can be a challenge.
It's a great spot. It's always so crowded, there's never any parking, but the venue is great, the food is really good if a bit on the pricier side, and the beer got way better once Josh joined the brew team and massively jumped their quality to the point that they're now winning awards for their beer. There's a full bar too if you prefer that. Is there anyone who lives in Austin and hasn't been here for some event? Gotta come visit then.
Great pizza!!! Seriously one of my new favorites. Obviously a very subjective measure; I like a thin crispy crust. Beer was also very good and the atmosphere was really comfortable to hang out. We will be going back!

Great, casual spot with good drinks, nice vibe and good pizza!! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Went there at night with a large group and also during the day for a World Cup game recently. They have a lot of space for large groups. We've found street parking but I know they have a parking lot behind too. Fun spot and kid friendly. read more

Went here for a quick visit on a hot summer day and couldn't believe how huge it was inside! We got frozen margaritas and they were boozy and delicious. The employees were all really friendly. I can't believe I didn't know about this place! We're looking forward to going again soon for the full experience (pizza, beer, music, etc). Short and sweet review, but wanted to show this place some love! read more

Came here for the first time and it was to see a band my husband likes. We absolutely loved it here! Chill vibe, everyone is welcome. Child and pet friendly. Parking was super easy in the back lot, although it is paid. We had the pepperoni pizza and the pretzel that came with mustard and queso. The queso was good but the pretzel will be a skip next time as it's a bit too hard and chewy for my liking. Pizza very good, thin crispy crust, toppings did not fall off and good sauce taste. Will definitely try others next time. Drinks were tasty yet strong. Inside space is super cool and the outdoor space is excellent for seeing a band or just relaxing. Plenty of space for everyone to sprall out and not be on top of each other and adequate seating. Planning on coming back after Thanksgiving and hopefully plenty more! read more
This place is awesome! I've been a couple times now and both times were on point! Friendly staff, great food, incredible ambiance, lots of space! Great place to meet up with buddies. Giant indoor/outdoor space gracing the East side holding events, trivia, art exhibitions, and all communities welcomed in may enjoy. Service is bar- or counter- (drinks & food respectively) to keep things moving efficiently even with large parties and events. A great selection of local beers and zero-proof options (several varieties of agua fresca), and the bar food is not too shabby! read more

The pizza was delicious. I had to remove the pile of arugula, which seems to be their thing, but it was still good. My main issue was that there was a dog that put its paws up on the bar twice. That's where food goes and the employees I guess didn't want to tell the guy who had the dog on a lose leash that you can't do that. It's disgusting! read more
This is a stellar brewery. The Star Wars holiday event was so much fun. My boyfriend and our dog dressed the part and had a blast. They have a great food menu but the pizzas are our usual go-to. Either the formaggio or Machinist are what we pick. My favorite pours are the kolsch, German Pilsner, and Vienna lager. read more
You seriously cannot go wrong with CMW! Occasionally it can be hard to find a table (especially during football season), but the vibes are just perfect. If you order a pitcher at the bar with a pizza, you're in for a great evening! I swear it's some of the best brewery pizza in Austin. Pro tip also! Wondered in here while exploring Austin for the weekend. Warm Sunday afternoon but we found respite at the indoor bar. Great beer and amazing ambiance! Love to vintage motorcycle influences and the hangar decor. A bit further away from the center, but totally worth it. In my top 3 microbrewerie I've visited in Austin! Lots of parking in the back, nice and clean restrooms, occasionally free live music, indoor and outdoor seating, pizza took a while but it was good food. Overall a great chill place for large gatherings and the staff is always walking around to clear spaces. read more

I enjoyed this brewery! I came here while doing a brewery crawl in Austin and really loved this place, it is huge with tons of seating and a pretty neat interior and exterior as well. They have good beer as well as lots of great looking cocktails for those who don't want beer. The food is however extremely overpriced. read more

This was an awesome place to be on Halloween! Everyone was with groups of friends, grabbing food (mostly pizza), and their drinks. My husband had draft beer and I had the tiger blood frozen drink. It was delicious! The outdoor was a fun vibe of live music and seats: also pet friendly! Definitely happy we came! read more
I had a great time here and definitely see myself making the drive to frequent more often. Huge indoor/outdoor areas with extensive seating. They have a taco/nacho food truck outside which was freaking delicious (and only $12 for my nachos). The best part was probably the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and quick with the drink requests. One of the bartenders recommended the tajin to my friend, and she said she couldn't try it due to a garlic allergy. The bartender ended up checking after we left to find it didn't have garlic since it was homemade, so she brought my friend out a cup with it to let her try. (Soooo sweet!) Stayed after run club to hang with the gang. Salad was dry and chicken was alright, also a little dry. The "croutons" were hilarious, a couple slices of bread. To be fair, they're known for their pizza, which is great. But they did go above and beyond when I asked for extra chicken so A+ service. It's busy at 8pm on a Wednesday! The atmosphere definitely makes up for the food. It's high traffic but people are very laid back and friendly. The NA Pilsner was phenomenal. read more

Yes- we saw some! Well behaved and on a leash. Maybe call to verify!
CMW Kids friendly?
Yes! There are people of all ages and my daughters usually meet new buddies each time they go. Good kids menu, too.
Is there parking available?
I second what Kyra said. It is a good-sized lot too, which is really nice to have at a fun place in this area of town.
Is there air conditioning?
The bar area is air conditioned &heated. The larger brewery area is not.
